ABQ Burrito is so good! I'm constantly looking for good breakfast burritos and this place did not disappoint. I ordered the bacon breakfast burrito with extra crispy bacon, red Chile, and shredded cheese instead of Xmas queso sauce. It was DELICIOUS. The bacon was extra crispy and was cut up into little pieces, which is my favorite way to have it in a burrito. The red Chile was super flavorful, not spicy at all. And the tots inside were the perfect texture and delicious. The service was very friendly, and super fast. Had my burrito in hand in less than five minutes. I ate in the the restaurant because I happened to be out on a walk and it was nice! Would have been equally easy to take it to go if that's your preference. read more

Great good. A bit high priced for burritos. Check the hours. I love this place but it comes with challenges. They are my favorite handheld burrito in ABQ, and I have tried many. I love the food and have tried different ones and love them all. It is the queso cheese sauce and coin tater tots that makes them exceptional for my tastebuds. They do run higher $ than most handheld burritos and this can limit how often I go. The other barrier for me is the hours. They already have shortened hours closing at 2pm. And I have been by close to 1:45 and they were already closed. Same in the AM. I have gone twice before work and the place is dark even an hour after the posted open time. Over all is is well worth a try sometime but hard to make a regular place. read more

I dropped off my dog for grooming at a business nearby and was trying to find a place around the area to kill some time while he's getting cleaned up..and decided to check out ABQ Burrito since it was one of the business nearby and had good ratings. While the breakfast burrito (~$5-6) was just ok but in a good size for the price (mind you, I'm never really a big fan of burrito), the churro donuts ($1.50 ea) were 5 stars (taste, price) to me. If I were to go back, no questions asked, I would definitely go for the churro donuts again. On the day I stopped by, I got 3 of them just to try..and ended up finishing all 3 of them by mid day! eek! That's how much I enjoyed those! Normally, I would rate this kind of place 4 stars (round down from 4.5 stars). However, the service was top notch from everyone I interacted with! The cashier lady was so polite and gave me ample of time time to decide what to order; she also offered to put my to go churro bag on the warmer while I ate my burrito in store. A gentleman (either a store manager or the owner) also was friendly! He greeted me and asked how I was doing and if I needed any help as I was enjoying my meal/time there! I would definitely stop by ABQ Burrito again for churro donuts the next times I drop by for some yummy munchies again! Recently spotted this little hide away burrito place. I drove past here knowing I wanted to come back. This morning was the day. The dining room had one gentleman enjoying his breakfast in the spacious dining room. The young man helping me just patiently waited as I pondered the menu with its savory selection of burritos. I finally settled on the carnitas. I have no regrets and completely thrilled with its moist and perfectly seasoned carnitas. I chose green chile to enchanted the flavor. The chile has a fantastic flavor with a tiny bite. It nibbles on your tastes buds leaving you wanting more. Can't wait to visit again and try another flavor!! read more

When I saw a listing for Churro Donuts at ABQ Burrito I couldn't help but find this place. Churro donuts sound like heaven. Churros have always been a treat that are practically impossible to pass up. And finally someone figured out they would make good - no GREAT! - donuts. So off I went to locate ABQ Burrito where they make these donuts. I just want one. Try it. Well, it was wonderful! And the shop is not on the other side of town . . . it is just up the street from me. I am in serious trouble! When I walked in the door for the first time I realized that I hadn't followed my own rules . . . don't go grocery shopping or into a restaurant when you are really hungry. My one churro donut turned into a large lunch burrito . . . and a donut. The chicken burrito was filled with chicken, potatoes, cheese, beans. I asked them to put the green chile on the side. I could tell it was going to be hot! The entire place smelled like fresh roasting chile. A delightful New Mexican heart-warming smell. The burrito ingredients were yummy, but the chicken bits were a little too overcooked / dried out. Tough. They should have been tender. They were not. Next time I will try either the bean burrito, or the breakfast burrito. They all looked good. A gentleman came in while I was waiting for my food. He asked for a burger. Apparently they were out? Seemed strange. He chose a pulled pork (or chicken?) sandwich instead. I think they were getting set to close right afterwards - - 2:30? *Mediocre food, terrible service, and sloppy presentation* Today was the first time I have ever been to this restaurant. First I called in the order and it was clear that the person on the phone did not know what they were doing because they were asking for help the entire time. So while waiting to place the order I kept hearing "can you help me with this?" several times before someone did. I walk into the restaurant to pick up my order and it's practically empty but no one greeted or acknowledged me. I told them I was there to pick up my order and the lady gave it to me and charged me. After paying she was distracted and I stood there for nearly a minute trying to figure out what to do. I finally just grabbed my stuff and said "thanks" and walked away. The manager who had been there the entire time finally paid attention and asks her "does she have everything she needs" and he asks me if I need anything else. I told him I would like my receipt. He seemed frazzled and frustrated as he tried to help me. He even rudely asked "name?!" when I told him I wanted my receipt. I left feeling frustrated and dismissed. In terms of the burrito it was sloppily wrapped and extremely salty. I think I'd rather go to the food truck that's just up the street. They may have better services. This is a hold in the wall type of place. They were incredibly friendly and helpful and answered all my questions I had with kindness. We got three burritos. All were breakfast. Steak, brisket and bacon. We chose green Chile for all the burritos. The steak was the best by far. Brisket was right there and the bacon was good but nowhere near the first two. I really wanted to give this place a five star...but...they use the typical store bought tortillas. If the tortillas were fresh made, this place would be 5 star, no question!! My first time here. I walked in and placed a carry out order July 14th, about 10:30am. There were 3 other folks in there waiting on their orders ahead of me. All 3 of their orders were wrong each time they were brought out. They would bring it out and ask "did you you order the blah blah blah? " and all 3 said "no" so it was back to the kitchen to find the correct orders. The gal on the register then brought out an order and gave it to me so I left laughing at all this chaos I had just witnessed. I'm not sure if those 3 folks ever got their orders correct. The cook, the server with pink dyed hair tied up and the register girl were all so confused. I got back to my office and my order was completely wrong, they gave me someone else's order LOL. The food was OK and I got more food then my order was so I came out ahead, got about $10 worth of more food than what I ordered. CHECK YOUR ODER BEFORE YOU LEAVE !!!!! I won't go back. read more

I'm always down to try another breakfast burrito. Was skeptical because of the lack of reviews, but I'm glad we checked it out. Good size burrito for the price. Plenty of meat in every bite (I got sausage), gooey cheese, and the tater tots elevate this to one of the best we've had in ABQ. The one con is the cheese looks/tastes like American which I'm not accustomed to in my breakfast burritos. We did have a small issue ordering online so I recommend the drive-thru. read more

Went here for the first time, extremely pleased. I think they have taken recent reviews very seriously. I was greeted right away and my food came out really fast. The heat of the red and green chili was perfectly balanced with all the other spices. Loved the tots and queso that soak up all the goodness. Today I give a five star rating to ABQ burrito for excellent customer service all on it's own. I just need to express before I review this place how important it is in the times we are living in that customer service is key. When a customer walks through your door that means they choose you over hundreds of other establishments in this town, and it would behoove you to immediately acknowledge and welcome those customers with a smile and make them feel so glad they came in. I have seen ABQ burrito on Candelaria rd. many times and today I finally came in and I'm a little embarrassed to admit, it was because I had just come from Richards Mexican food on Carlisle, they are located in the same strip mall as world market. In any case, I went there first in search of breakfast. Walked in, so excited because the food smelled amazing, The sign said please wait to be seated and it was not busy but three women who worked there saw me standing and waiting and they couldn't care less about acknowledging me. Finally a woman lifted her head up as she was wiping down a table and says... BE RIGHT WITH YOU! That's not what I need or want when I go out to eat. I mostly want and need kindness so I turned around and walked out the door and my car drove me to ABQ burrito where Kindness and welcoming human beings abounds. This business restored my faith in people and ma and pa business'wholeheartedly trying to stay alive. I'm even more pleased to say that the Carne Adovada burrito with potatoes, cheese and red chili did not disappoint. The marinated pork was divine and melted in your mouth. This food is tasty and delicious and the menu reasonably priced. They offer burrito bowls without the tortilla and also donuts. For me what makes the burrito is the tortilla and their tortillas are so dry, cracking apart and stiff. Everything on the inside was okay if the burrito had a more moist and chewy warm tortilla then it would have been 5 stars for me. The churro donut was yum with the cold brew though. read more

Perhaps a bold statement, but my favorite breakfast burrito in ABQ! I love that they use tots as the potato, as they stay crispy til the end. I had the sausage with red chile and it wasn't spicy at all (so far I've found red chile in ABQ is usually way too hot for me) but still packed tons of flavor. It's not that this place is bad...to tell you the truth I have only gotten the churro doughnuts....I was incredibly disappointed that the doughnuts were pre made, frozen and out of a box.....they cooked them fresh right when I ordered them, they were definitely hot hot hot when I got them, after I let them cool off I took my first much anticipated bite....and....I got a mouth full of cinnamon flavored grease....yikes!!! I have never gone back but maybe the grease just wasn't hot enough? That would be my guess. Not the best experience but the chef and staff were super nice!!!
