Enchilada Combo (chicken, beef, carne adobada) Christmas.

Food needs more flavor, and portions are smaller than other new mexican restaurants. I've sat down inside and have had to go orders and always felt a bit hungry after eating my meals. Typically, I have leftovers, which is nice to have the next day but not here. This feels like it is geared toward older folks who prefer to have smaller plates that have mild chile. For the price, I could get the same meal elsewhere and get more full with half the food. I definitely like to support local restaurants, but if the prices were lower, I would consider coming back otherwise I'll choose other places in town who have more flavor and bigger portions.

I've been to a couple different Monroe's locations and it's always really good. This time I got the Super Combination, the star of the show was the taco. Kinda wished I had gotten just a taco plate. Sopapillas are good. Bonus points for carrying local beer. They serve it with a frosted mug. Wish they had chicharrones.

Decent NM grub here. As it turns out, I'd been to their sister location in downtown ABQ about a year ago and liked it okay. So the pluses first: . I really liked how their menu is not overwhelming. They stick to the basics. Super friendly service. Quick service. Salsa was easy to eat - not too hot. The cons: I said "yes" when the server asked if I wanted chips and salsa. The basket of chips was appropriately smaller since I was dining by myself. But I didn't realize I was going to be charged $4.95 for a very small order of chips and salsa. I felt ripped off by this. Pre-packaged hard taco shells? The chile relleno was excellent - great batter, quite large, and I ordered it christmas-style. Their red chile is smooth and creamy - really delicious. They only serve wine and beer here - which is not meant to be a con. But I spent $24 for one taco, a relleno, one beer, and chips/salsa. I always want to support local businesses, but I did feel this was pretty pricey for what I got.

Surprisingly basic/fast food atmosphere BUT 5 stars for the sopapillas, vegan & gluten-free menu, & green chili sauce! Take a jar home, too!

Double stuffed chile relleno plate. One stuffed with carne adovada and the other stuffed with ground beef smothered in red chile!

This is a popular place that I'm barely getting to try today. Let's start with the service. When we walked in we were seated immediately and given drinks, chips and salsa. Our waiter was friendly and helpful with the menu and recommendations. I got the double chile relleno plate stuffed with carne adovada and ground beef. My son got their famous GCCB and it looked great. He said it was really good but that he should've got the double. My daughter is now a big fan of Monroe's just because of their carne asada fries that she liked so much. Why 4 star and not 5? Although the food was tasty it was a little pricey for the portion size. Our waiter kind of forgot about us after awhile and we never got refills and our check took a long time to arrive. Other than that I would eat here again no problem. Two thumbs up from me on this beautiful Father's Day weekend!

Solid choice for NM food in Albuquerque! Nice ambience and service. Try the enchiladas or the taco salad.

From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere felt inviting, and the service was genuinely outstanding--friendly, attentive, and the kind that makes you want to come back. I ordered the stuffed cabbage and the "Russian roulette" pierogies, and both were fantastic. The stuffed cabbage was rich, hearty, and perfectly seasoned--clearly made with care and tradition. The pierogies were a fun surprise, each one a little different, and all packed with flavor. It's the kind of dish that keeps you engaged with every bite. Even the black coffee stood out--smooth, bold, and exactly what you want alongside a satisfying meal. Altogether, Red Rock Deli delivers not just great food, but a genuinely enjoyable experience. Highly recommended if you're looking for something a little different and truly comforting.

It was a long line but the counterman handled it with great speed. The guy in front of me comes in to buy sausage and fresh mozzarella to make his own homemade calzones. I chose the full size italian beef and the other sandwich we got was mostly veggies and mozzarella(I can't remember the name). While we waited for the sandwiches we perused the baked goods and the italian market with tons of sauces, frozen foods, cheese and delicious baked goods. The sandwiches were huge and delicious. Even as a big a guy as I am I could have done with the half size, but I did end up eating the second half for dinner. The sandwiches are on soft, delicious hoagie rolls. The italian beef was stuff with beef and gardinera. The juices of the meat and the gardinera leaks into the botoom of your tray and almost makes a french dip like sauce. This place is fantastic!!!

Though I'm not vegan I was very excited at the prospect of having a good meal that is vegan. Unfortunately, we had disappointing experience. Food: so-so... I had the triple patty, lucky burger, my partner had the double lucky double burger minus one patty. We shared the lucky fries. The total was just under $30. My partner eats light, but he did not realize how thin a single burger actually was. He said if he went back, he would definitely have the double patty next time because that's still not equal to one patty in most places. The triple lucky that I had was just messy. I ate it with knife and fork on the paper that covered the tray on which it was served. Between the messiness, the soft bun (not toasted) and having to use a knife & fork to eat it off a piece of paper covering the tray on which all the food was served was not a great eating experience. Finally, the french fries the lucky fries, was just the regular basket of fries with their lucky toppings. The amount of toppings was so light as to be ridiculous given the amount of the up charge. Service: Zero charm, Zero finesse! I, in principle, DO NOT ever leave a gratuity with my order on these iPads where the order is taken totaled and paid for. Simply put, tipping before service makes no sense to me. There were two females working the counter and serving the food. The only pleasant moment in all of it was when the female who took our order also served the table. She put the tray down and was very sweet in her presentation, which was brief. We both could not help thinking it might have been because we had the cash gratuity sitting out on the table. I have no way of knowing if that was it or not, but given the quality of interaction with these two females up to that point... I did address this with them both before we left. I feel like I was gentle, but also to the point. When a female apparently became so upset that she had remove herself and the second female hung in with a lot of bravado, making an absolutely insincere apology... Ending it with "I don't know what else to say". My response to that was "something with a little sincerity would be helpful". Ambience: the lounge area was very inviting, but unfortunately, when we entered into it, the gentleman behind the bar informed us that it was closing for the day. The dining area was more than sufficient comfortable no complaints. Apparently, we've missed the hey-day of the Lucky Goose because based on this experience, I would guess that it is on its way out.
