Wonderful service, great food and a reasonable price. We had a chicken taco salad and a green chile burger. Both delicious. Burger came with a generous portion of fries and was cooked perfectly. The chicken in the taco salad was so flavorful. Not only did it have a generous portion of chicken, it also had a delicious dollop of guacamole and sour cream. Really enjoyed it!!

2025 Albuquerque. New Mexican. (Highlight) Sopaipilla A fluffy, hot sopa served with real honey. (Highlight - Best) Taco Fingers Beef or chicken, BEST hand rolled tacos anywhere! Indian Taco Beef, chicken, or carne adovada + everything else piled on a piece of fry bread. Overall, Monroe's is awesome and taco fingers are always the best and hit the spot. "As good as it gets."

Service was excellent! Staff greeted us immediately and made us feel welcomed. The table we sat at had a slight wobble and they quickly fixed it. We ordered a chimichanga and a green chili burger with onion ring and a chile relleno. I liked the flavor of the refried beans and my adobado chimichanga was tasty. The green chili burger and onion rings disappeared quickly so I assume my hubby enjoyed his meal as well.

Not a lot of stars here but the food is good New Mexican chili stew is excellent if you are New Mexican you know when the chili is good and the Sopaipillas just like home cooking. Everything we had was authentic pork tamales, green chili stew, place is very clean staff is exceptional great attitudes super nice and accommodating staff is very good for crowds as I sit here we are a group of 7. And others came in with big groups The vibe here is very energetic crowd brings all types of people. locals, business the regulars.. I would definitely come back..

Been going here for wonderful food for over 20 years! Super tasty authentic Mexican food served by attentive staff. Nice dining room areas and outdoor patio seating, along with off street parking lot. The carne adovada and chicken stuffed Chile rellenos are superb and part of a wide menu, including breakfast items all day. Absolutely one of the best restaurants in Albuquerque!!

Great prices, quick service, good food and a large variety of options! I had the breakfast burrito and really enjoyed it! A lot of food for the price!

We didn't get to sit here for a full meal but got a sopapilla to eat here + take out spinach-chile tamales, beans, calabacitas, and red and green chiles that we put in our thermoses to eat on the road. The sopapilla was not crispy at all and not very hot even though we ate it right there but had a good flavor. The other food items were better. I often prefer green chile but the red chile here was really good too-- more creamy and less bitter than some red can be. The beans were good. Overall a good meal. I appreciated that they were happy to pack things for us separately in away that was convenient for me to pack our thermoses. I only got a photo of the meal in the thermos. A 2 tamale and 2 side plate + one additional tamale and chile sauces filled up 2 thermoses perfectly and was enough food for me and my husband for lunch (we did have a big New Mexican breakfast with several sopapillas elsewhere before!)

After being away from NM for many years I am back and having one New Mexican meal a day. Today I came here and had my usual stuffed sopapilla with ground beef Christmas style. The chile was mid. Not much flavor wasn't hot or spicy the beans were ok and so was the rice. Service was good. I prob would not go back.

As soon as we pull in the parking lot full. That's always a good sign. We go check in to get a table with a party of five and we're told it's about hour wait. We stay and we waited maybe 20 minutes or so. The server took our drink order immediately along with delivering fresh chips and salsa to the table. I ordered the Mexican pizza with grilled fajita chicken. It was very good! The ambience is casual and relaxing. It's worth the trip!

Great food, located in rustic Martinez/Old Town area. We enjoyed awesome service, the food speaks for itself. Ambiance is filled with employees cleaning floors. Our waiter never returned bug we were picked up by a nice person.

I wanted to experience true New Mexican cuisine while in Albuquerque. A local recommended Monroe's. So on a rainy evening i went and tried two local dishes that are popular and very traditional to New Mexico. I started with Posole, a kind of stew/soup made with pork, hominy, and red chilis. WOW! It was chunky, slightly spicy and hearty. A cup was only $5. The chilis give the stew a real earthy flavor. This was very good. My main entree was the Carne Adovada platter. See the picture. It was huge, fresh, aromatic and colorful. Again, it was chunks of tender pork in a red chili sauce. It came with rice and pinto beans, cheese, and lettuce and tomato. It was filling. It was delicious! It reminded me of a cross between Mexican food and Cuban cuisine. That's my impression. I really liked the New Mexican cuisine, much better than Mexican food. Monroe's is in a new modern building. The space is large and very casual. It was an 8/10 on cleanliness. Lots of staff constantly checking in. It has a cafeteria feel in a way. I ordered the stew as a starter but both dishes arrived together in about 5 minutes. I think they could slow things down a bit to keep a nice "non rushed" atmosphere. The food is definitely worth coming for. Lots of good stuff for a modest price in a new building.

This is probably my 10th review for Monroe's! Like previous reviews, nothing has changed and I am obsessed with this restaurant. First, I love the architecture! The huge glass windows are beautiful! It makes for a great view of the Sandias and the landscape surrounding the building. It also displayed the Christmas tree wonderfully in December. Secondly, I admire the staff. The management must be superb, because I have seen loyal employees there for years. I love how they work together to accommodate everyone's needs. Lastly, the food is great! Serving traditional New Mexican food, that won't disappoint :) Give it a try :)

Good balance of tuna, celery, and bread ratio, but I didn't dig the olives in it. There's a mini kale salad that comes with entrees, and it was healthy and palatable for kale. We did end up balancing that green with the pistachio cruffin and pistachio chocolate chip cookie. Would definitely go back for the cruffin with its flaky layers and luscious pastry cream. Cookie was less impressive but still worth the impulse buy. Indoor and breezy outdoor seating available. Highly recommend!

Most recently, I went with some coworkers for lunch and ordered the Bella Mozzarella sandwich. Beautiful, thick slices of fresh mozzarella, loaded with tomatoes and basil. The bread was super fresh, and the potato salad was very flavorful. My coworker got an eclair on our way out. I just had a bite and it was divine. Over the years I keep going back, about once a year: I've had their sandwiches, their pastries, their pies . . . all kinda "meh" and all priced pretty reasonably but not inexpensively. Sandwiches give you a lot of everything . . . except flavor. Pastries are . . . fine. Pies are . . . fine, and kinda small (and not inexpensive, maybe reaching towards pricey); it's the kinda thing you are willing to pay for in order to bring it to a gathering, only to find almost no one bothers to eat it. And so you don't bother. The cookies are pretty good, actually. (And, yes, I know Italian delis - my Italian grandparents brought me to them in New York when I was a child. However, I'm not judging Tully's against these (as in "it's not as good as Back East"), I'm just saying it never really turns my crank.) Today I had a hot chicken, cheese, onion and pepper sandwich, the Carmela. It was a lot of food. But . . . not a lot of flavor. A whole lot of drippy mess in the bottom of my basket, though: water absolutely sopped through the (completely unmemorable tasting) bread loaf and pooled at the bottom of my basket as I ate in. The potato salad served alongside was fine - like what you'd get at Albertson's. The chicken was tender and . . . essentially without flavor, not even salt. There had clearly been a little marinade (I could sense some oregano and maybe garlic in there) but man could this thing have used about five times as much seasoning and then a healthy dose of a vinegar/garlic/oregano dressing on top of it. Bland. Lots of food in that $17 (almost $25 with tip) sandwich, but not a lot of enjoyment. I've had other Tully's sandwiches (both for here and to-go) that were better, but I can't really recall any of them . . . and I _never_ rush back. Like I said, this is a place I think about ("Hey, I'm right nearby; I should try Tully's again!") about once a year . . . and then, meh. To be fair - I believe that I am pretty out in left field on this take: Tully's is popular and always hopping. Get here early unless you want to stand in line. I only had to wait about three minutes to order, but by the time I left at noon this Friday there was a line to order all the way from the counter to the door. In terms of the room, it's a deli. Reasonably well set out with a decent amount of seating set out well, as well as some outside seating that you might want to try when it's not in the nineties. You order at the counter, pay, go get your own fountain drink (they also have some beer and wine, which they will serve you), find a seat and they'll bring it to you. When you're done, you bus it yourself. Pleasant staff - I don't regret tipping, although they don't do much. (As others have mentioned, if you get a cup of water, Tully's generously gives you a decent sized Solo cup - another plus.) It's fine. If you go, at least get yourself some cookies - they're pretty good.
