We had a difficult time finding many restaurants open for dinner on Saturday in the off season. Luckily, we were saved by La Zenita, and judging by the stream of customers around us we weren't the only ones. The menu was plentiful and it felt like we couldn't go wrong. The Indian taco was delicious - a doughier fry bread than I was expecting but that just meant it could soak up all the amazing sauce. The green sauce in particular was heavenly. Plus, I got the Indian taco as vegetarian by opting for just beans on it. My husband enjoyed his al pastor tacos and his only nit-pick was him wanting the marinade to come through more. The staff were also friendly and on the ball despite the constant stream of customers. Now if they could only get rid of the styrofoam containers this would be eligible for a 5 star experience!

The entrance door of La Zenita Restaurant has floral window decals and displays the restaurant's name and logo.

Fantastic! Great little spot to satisfy your taco needs. We didn't have time to try much, only the birria tacos but they were amazing. 4 nice sized tacos, big bowl of consume, limes, cilantro, and onions! Rice was nice and fluffy, perfectly flavored. Lady was so sweet and made sure we enjoyed our meal!

It was very good and friendly service. Food was delicious. Lots of options. It's right next to the convention center

Food was fantastic! I ordered carne asada enchiladas and I got the most satisfying plate of food. Nicest family in the entire world too. Simple place, simple ambiance. Multiple TVs and parking in the garage is $1 for every half an hour.

What a great little gem in downtown Albuquerque! Family run, limited menu, and delightful. Order at the counter and they bring you your food. All three dalsa were delicious and some of the best rice I have had. Will definitely eat here again next time I am in Albuquerque

The red and green chile sauces are quite amazing here! Fresh and tasty food along excellent service!

Horchata - A cup of horchata with ice cubes is placed on a table, alongside a glass of water. The setting appears to be casual, possibly at a restaurant or cafe.

To be honest I have stopped posting Yelp reviews- when Yelp was considering adding the report racism button. I had to come back out of Yelp reporting retirement to give this place my FULL 5 stars. First it is sparse and neat. It was super clean. The food portions were amazing and well a bit much! :) the lovely lady running the kitchen (I suspect she is owner) made us FRESH chips - not kidding - while we waited for our order. I ordered a horchata - my parting words to her was "Tu Horchata es mi favorita!" - it was the best I've had. If you expect white table cloth and table side - move on. If you want to sit down for your Mexican grandma's table, and be filled with amazing fare- go here. I was in abq for a week and ate there twice. I'm headed back in few weeks and I will stop in again.

The chicharrones were perfectly cooked and the flan chocolate cake was an unexpected delicious treat! Order at the counter, delivered to your table. Additionally, I had the pleasure to meet the owner/cook. She was delightful. Very close to the Convention Center and should be on everyone's radar!!

The food is fantastic and a great value. Service was fas and attentive. The place has a good vibe and a very beautiful Mural done by a local artist.

You need to update the hours of operation. It is only open 4:00 to 8:00. Waste of time

It's difficult to find good restaurants that can cater to young adults and have REALLY good food and service. We came first on Sunday for brunch. The food was very good. It was a bit small on the portions though. We had breakfast enchiladas and omelet and blue corn pancakes. Then we came back for dinner. The chicken mole was divine, tacos, sea bass, pork steak etc. absolutely perfect. Good portions. Food tastes like it was homemade. The cuisine is Mexican...not New Mexican. The server was great about answering any questions and willing to omit something if possible. Our server was attentive and so gracious. The wine list was surprisingly good. We had a French Viognier for less than $50. Finally the owner came out to talk to us and thanks us for coming. I'm in the business and haven't had this kind of service for a long time. Our son with Celiac was very satisfied, but also we all were. I would absolutely come back regardless of food restrictions. Please go!!

The property seems massive and it's really beautiful with all the cottonwood trees. When you get into the restaurant, there are just tons of combinations of these cozy little nooks, long dining tables, separated rooms, patio seating, and event spaces. There is something to see everywhere you look; fountains, fireplaces, and plants, hanging chiles, and more. They even raise cattle and chickens on property and source from their own greenhouse for their menu items. The ambience was just really cool and even though the winds were blowing like crazy, we were totally comfortable out in the patio section with the screens up. The food is authentic New Mexican cuisine. They brought out delicious tortilla chips for us to snack on while we decided on what to order. It really felt like there was no wrong choice to make. They were very accommodating for food allergies and restrictions. There was great flavor in everything our group tried. I split the half order of chicken nachos and it was a hefty half order! I was so stuffed, but then, hot sopapillas appeared and I couldn't say no to those! Especially not since the tables had their own sourced honey. There is also a full tequila bar, but since we were traveling with kids, didn't get to take too much advantage of that as an option. I wish we would've had more to explore the property but if I end up back in the Albuquerque area, I'll stop by again.

The good: The red chile rubbed ribs are phenomenal, but 1/2 rack for $44?! It's not a lobster tail. Beans and guac-excellent, calabacitas-very good. The chicken enchiladas-delicious with tender chicken. The bad: 2 Grand Gold margaritas at $15 each that were neither grand or gold. I've had better house margaritas at Applebees, lol. Their red chile was sparse, but that actually turned out in my favor because it was on the edge of burnt. A bit acrid. The sopas were dense, flat, chewy, and overcooked. The salsa-underwhelming. If you want excellent Grand Gold margaritas, the best salsa in New Mexico, and excellent portion sizes- SADIE'S ALL THE WAY!!!
