Very cool space where you can buy spirits made on site (vodka and gin right now, but more in the works), get a cocktail of their spirits at the bar and/or take a tour. Brian, the owner, gave the tour and really walks you through every step of the process (he's hammering and welding many of the stills himself). He was very personable and took all kinds of questions. We spent a totally fascinating and fun evening here in the very intimate bar up front. They served a limited selection of drinks, but are in the process of expanding. Great potential here. Craft distilleries are rare and these guys seem to be doing it for all the right reasons. Take advantage of this and pay them a visit. read more

I have been to this distillery twice, and it amazed me both times. One thing about me is I am a self-proclaimed sampler. I love sampling things to the point that I've started calling it a hobby! So I asked the bartender if there was any possible way I could sample their spirits, and she gave me what I would describe as a mini-flight, with one teensy little sample (about a sip's worth) of each spirit they sell: gin, vodka, whiskey, and rum. She also said I could sample their beers and ciders if I wanted. I couldn't believe this! How awesome! And I can say that each spirit was quite tasty. I'm a whiskey girl myself, but I also enjoyed the other spirits. Their whiskey, by the way, amazed me. I've never tasted a whiskey quite like it. It really tastes like blue corn, and it's so smooth. After I went through the mini-flight, I decided to order their Autumn Old Fashioned. This drink was stunningly delicious. I savored every sip. The second time I came here, I had yet another old fashioned. Then, my husband asked me if I wanted to try a different drink and split it with him, so I agreed. Per our server's recommendation, we tried the Red Chile Chocolate Martini. The first sip I took, the world melted away. SO GOOD. My husband took a sip and I could see he had a similar experience. It tasted so creamy, chocolatey, and had just enough alcohol to give it an extra punch along with the red chile. This drink amazed us. The employees here seem quite helpful, accommodating, and friendly. The bartender I talked with at my first visit was very informative and happy to answer my questions. Plus, she let me sample everything I wanted to try, which made me happy and tends to make it more likely that I'll be a returning customer to a place. The drinks seem to be made with such care, and the recipes themselves have unique ingredients mixed with those tasty spirits. I think these reasons are why the drinks here have made it on my list of favorite drinks here in Albuquerque. I'd definitely come back here again. Good service, good prices, and the drinks, whether sipped neat or mixed, are phenomenal. read more

I'm not a fan of flavored liquor, but on a whim tried the Rojo pinon rum. It was pleasantly surprising, even at 29-32 dollars per bottle. It has a mildly piney green taste, but the nutty pinon flavor comes through without overpowering things. Here are two ways to enjoy Rojo pinon rum after trying it with cola. Add 1/3 cup to your best banana bread recipe, and use 1/4 cup sour cream instead of milk or other liquid. Pineapple Poonanny drink recipe. 1 1/2 oz Rojo pinon rum 4 large ice cubes 6oz pineapple, orange, banana juice blend. Blend or serve on rocks. Yummy read more

I went with a small group of friends (I'd never heard of this place before) we got there around 8pm and they closed at 9pm. We talked to the staff and they said the hours would be changing soon but I'm not sure if that has happened yet. That said the staff was friendly and they didn't yell at us to get out when 9pm rolled around, we closed out our tabs and hung out outside and they didn't yell at us to leave the property either. Tons of unique drinks to choose from, had a great time, this is a great local distillery that I'll assuredly get back to as soon as possible. read more

This was the absolute worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant. Last Saturday my friend and I decided to go out and have drinks after not being out for months. We had a seat and at the table there was a QR scan code. We didn't know how to use it to see the menu. I asked the waiter who said " use your camera or look it up online." He walks off. There are no directions. My friend and I tried over 15 minutes and couldn't figure it out. The internet was slow too and couldn't pull up the menu. The waiter never stopped by. When he finally walked by I asked to talk to the manager. I told him we were getting frustrated and needed help. The waiter actually then told us "you need to leave now". I tried explaining we needed help and he told us to leave again and then accused me of drinking, which I had not done. We got up to leave and on the way out says "good luck on finding anyone else to serve you." This waiter was so rude, obnoxious. I tried calling the manager to talk about the experience. Never got a call back. And then the man who answered the phone, when I asked the name of the manager would not give it to me and hung up on me. Well Brian Langwell , I would say you have a terrible wait staff problem. We left and went to Tractor Brewery and had a delightful experience. Staff was helpful, showed us how to use the QR scan. Don't waste your time at this place. There is no reason for staff to treat customers that way. read more

Great conversation and learned some things about New Mexico (I'm from out of state). Would love to visit again. Tried their gin and vodka as well as 2 other northern distillars offerings. I stumbled across this business thanks to Groupon. I wanted my husband and I to do something different for Valentine's Day so I scheduled a tour the Thursday before. The Groupon included a tour and a drink made with one of their spirits. By the time we got to the place my husband and I were in dire need of a good drinks due to the day time stresses. I was looking forward to having something other than beer or wine. They had a god selection of mixed drinks. I cant remember what I had but I know I enjoyed it and and my husband enjoyed his. This review is about Brothers Old Tom Gin. Just got a bottle as a gift last night and it is absolutely delicious. I usually drink Tanqueray, various types, and this gin is just as good, maybe even a bit better, than Tanqueray, definitely much better than Bombay or Hendricks. Highly recommend it. After selecting a table for our party of 4, we sat and waited. A waitress, later found out to be Miranda, walked over and said "ID's please". Not a welcome, not hello, nothing. We showed and said we needed a minute. She came back a few minutes later took our 4 drink orders. After TEN minutes, she brought two of the drinks. She went back and we thought she was going to grab the other two, but watched her, and she BEGAN making the the other two. It took another 8 minutes so we waited to drink our two until she finished and brought the other two. Then, no, "sorry it took so long" nothing, just left them. We were there for 20 more minutes, she never came back. Ever. She never came to see if we wanted another after our drinks were empty for at least 10 minutes. We were planning on being there for a while, but took it as a cue, and left. I will add the male server had come by right after Miranda first took our orders, and we all regretted not accepting his offer to help us because at least someone would've. We also had to call him over to bring us a bill because like I said, she never came back, even to bring our check. Horrible treatment, rude and uncaring. Took our money and did not refund it. If I could give no stars I would. So literally my birthday was one day ago and I didn't realize that my License expired, I'm 33 and the License if scanned would show it's real. And I only came here because I bought a Groupon. Come on, one day from expired are you serious! I'm from another state on vacation, Is it because I'm black is it because my boyfriend is Mexican. Is a combination of the two that you couldn't have treated a potential customer with more respect than that. How would you like it if you went to the hospital and they looked at your insurance and said oh it's expired today so we can't help you or better yet charge you the full bill. Good look growing your business treating people that way. You reap what you sow. I should have read the reviews in the first place because I'm not the only person who says this lady Lauren doesn't know how to treat costumers. Don't come here they have no hospitality. read more

Came here for the first Geeks Who Drink. Tried two cocktails and a beer -- both mules, one with gin, one with corn whiskey, both excellent. I also enjoyed the Mexican lager. I've known Brian for a while and had him do machining for space hardware years ago. He puts the same thought and skill into these creations. The corn whisky is an acquired taste, different from the barrel aged varieties and yet with its own character to be appreciated. The amazing part is that the process is not nearly as complicated as I expected, emphasizing the art involved. Definitely worth more visits to sample the rest of the spirits. read more

I don't drink much alcohol at all. I tried their ginger berry non-alcoholic drink on Saturday at the Mountain West Brew Fest (our food booth was right next to theirs) and have been thinking about it ever since!!!
