I don't drink beer and rarely drink ciders (when forced) but this one I wish they would sell in Texas, but they don't. We bought some cans that I was able to bring back in my luggage for a few extra days of enjoying it while here. Every time I go to ABQ now, I must stop at Tractor Brewing for this blood orange cider on draft, which I wish they could get the same experience in a can...it's close!

All the times I've gone, it's really dead so we don't stay long. Some highlights are that I actually took a mixology class here back in June which was pretty awesome and also for Halloween, they had a fun selection of seasonal offerings! I had a candy apple cauldron cocktail thing and it was delicious! Also we happened upon one afternoon while the Kentucky derby was being broadcast and all the staff were dressed up and so were the patrons. It was really random but fun nonetheless Tractor used to be a staple when choosing somewhere to hang out but with the recent openings of other venues, it's more like a precursor to your actual venue of choice and not the main venue of choice.

We visited right at opening (1pm) on a Wednesday to have the taproom to ourselves for the first hour. Our bartender Isabelle was very patient with us and extremely knowledgeable about their beers. She has a bad ass car and rides motorcycles, so the conversation was fun for sure and her service was awesome! Definitely someone I'd want running my business in my absence. We sampled a few of their beers with us enjoying a majority of them. My buddy was gaga over their IPAs (which I'll never understand) and I enjoyed their darker offerings. Was bummed they didn't have any ales or stouts other than their milk stout (lactose), especially for "stout month". But, their Turkey Drool more than made up for it (took a growler home)! The taproom is bright and inviting, dog friendly, plenty of parking (except the front spots coned off for an invisible food truck) and the patio has great views of the Sandias. I had to pace myself as most of the beers were 5%+. I enjoyed it so much I will return soon to try more of their beer. In addition to the beer, they have a good selection of ciders and cocktails for those that don't imbibe barley sodas. My son and I ordered the Atomic Turkey Panini and were both very pleased with our decision; it was delicious. The beer was tasty too!! The staff handed it over the bar to him without mentioning that it was strictly for off-premise consumption. Honestly, I suspected something might be off when I saw the large, unopened can, but because the bartender handed it directly to him without a word of warning, we assumed it was fine. We ended up opening it and drinking it for a while before the staff finally noticed. When they did realize what happened, they completely panicked, told us it was a "felony," and confiscated the can. We completely understand that New Mexico has strict liquor laws and that the brewery has to protect its license. Now that we know the rule, we definitely won't make this mistake again. However, the situation could have been entirely avoided if the staff simply communicated better at the point of sale. If you hand a customer a large package container over the bar that cannot legally be opened on-site, it is your responsibility as the server to state that clearly. The staff should have caught this when serving us, or at least handled the mistake with better customer service instead of escalating the situation. It was an honest mistake caused by a lack of clear guidance from the bartender. As two professionals that work on base nearby, this is a letdown, especially as we have frequented this brewery in the past.

From the moment we arrived, the service and ambiance were warm, welcoming, and where we wanted to be! Large and open, Bow and Arrow is spacious for folks to come for pint, small groups, as well as large groups and company events. We sat at the bar for more face-to-face service and had a great experience. We each got a flight and loved the ability to try four different beverages each since the menu is so extensive, creative, and delicious! I got the "Dos Arrows," "Wildly No. 1," "Bury My Heart," and "Lav Letters to the SW." I listed them in order of my favorites. Each beverage was complex, unique, and delicious! I would have enjoyed a full pint of each drink! Alas, 4 5oz beverages was enough! Prices are reasonable for such high quality beverages! We also loved that the brewery recognizes Indigenous land rights and supports Native American initiatives. Euro-Americans have much to learn from Native peoples, the original stewards of this land.
