    Fried wonton
    Nick G.

Unfortunately this is my first and last time eating here. I've had several people rave about Lee's Kitchen and as a fellow Chinese food lover people are shocked that I haven't tried it. Friday March 6th was the night we ordered the walnut prawns, Mongolian beef, chicken chow mein, shrimp friend wantons, and the bbq pork fried rice. Walking in it was busy, we saw 3 people ahead of us waiting for Togo orders and another couple happily eating their meal. The place looked legit, hole in the wall mom n pop shop. When we arrived home I had to let the phone eat first as everything look amazing and couldn't wait to dive! But when we tried the fried wontons they didn't even have a tablespoon of filling, it was just fried wonton wrapper with a dime size of filling was the first flag... I happily kept eating and just used it like a vessel to shove into my mouth like chips and salsa. The next red flag was digging into the Mongolian beef it was off.. the color of the meat, the taste but I couldn't put my finger on it. My wife didn't want anything to do with it so I happily kept eating. Come Saturday morning to use the rest room, I felt clammy, upset stomach and threw up all of my dinner from the night before, let's just say it was coming out of both ends. I had a 102 fever, shakes, heat flash, stomach hurt, slept all day and didn't eat a thing until Sunday afternoon which I had toast. All signs point to food poisoning, as I am writing this I am still in bed with horrible food poisoning and this is the last place I had an actual meal. I'm sorry Lee's Kitchen I really was rooting for you since you're a stone throws away from my house. But I'm not risking 3+ day of food poisoning to eat your food. If you've been here before and haven't had an issue keep on keepin on I ain't going to tell you how you to eat your Chinese food but first timers just be on your guard for off colored meats and stay away from the won tons, they're sad-tons. Look at the pics I took to make your own assessment.

I came here exhausted and hungry during the week. I dined in, and it seems like it's not too common for people to dine in. The owners seemed happy to see someone dine in. We noticed there were many to go orders. They are so nice and quick to serve. If you're not sure what to order there is a wall of pictures with dishes of the "favorites". The food was good. We had the dinner for two option #2 Chow mein, sweet and sour pork, fried rice, fried prawns We ordered a side of egg rolls My favorite was the fried rice -- I am not a big fan of fried rice-- but this one was pretty good. Prices are basic for the Bay Area. It's a good place for when you just want to get in and eat and get out without distractions and noise. It's quiet so it's easy to have conversation. It's perfect for if you're alone or a couple. Since they are popular with take out you can always order ahead. I didn't notice much for food safety: I noticed that the kitchen is tiny and they were doing some repairs. There is one -gender neutral bathroom.

Almond chicken lunch special with chow mein ($+2)

Sweet lady who helped answer any question along with just providing a home feeling. I tried the Almond chicken lunch special with chow mein ($+2) and it was sauced perfectly and not heavily soy sauced with tender chicken and my daily veggie intake. Also large lunch portion. It's better than many other fast Chinese around my office.

This is a mom and pop restaurant serving authentic Chinese food. Great tasty good with good portion sizes, not too salty or oily. Service is fantastic! The owner is extremely friendly and warm. Nice ambience too with 8 tables total for indoor seating. They have delivery on Fantuan and Happy Panda. I ordered the salt and pepper pork chops (spicy), pork wontons, beef and green bean, beef hefen (干炒牛河)。

The customer service was excellent. $50 for these plates. The chow mein was not good, it had a weird texture. The rice tasted old, and chicken was soggy. I probably won't come back. The place looked really dirty too. I'm sorry, but just saying.

Adding Mian to this plaza definitely livened it up, it was so difficult finding parking and then there was an hour wait when we joined the waitlist. We wandered around Grocery Outlet and Savers to pass the time. I came with a group of 6 people. We ordered the sichuan spicy fries and fried chicken cutlet to share. The fries were the spiciest item I had that day, wow! I ordered the Sichuan chicken cold noodles, extra spicy. They were not spicy at all. I left everyone at the table try them and they all agreed it was not spicy. Kind of disappointing, I expected them to be spicier than the fries at least. My partner had the chengdu zajiang noodles, mild spicy. They were good, the signature dish of the restaurant. I would return, but their spice levels are very inconsistent.

Would've preferred a spicier soup, and noted it didn't have that wok hei, similar to other Korean places. Overall a decent bowl, and the best dish we had. Kan pung gi - first time eating this dish but it was a lot sweeter than expected. There was a bit of a crunch, but nowhere as crunchy as other Korean fried chicken places. Meat itself didn't have much flavor either. A disappointment, but part of it was our preference in taste as well. Green beans - really dry and some were undercooked. Not really much flavor in the dish. Biggest disappointment. Service - we never got check ins, unless we flagged someone down - not usually a big deal, but it was hard to flag anyone down when we wanted drinks and our check. They also kept mixing tables up, and tried to give other table's orders to us three times. We also never got our banchan refills, even though they took it away early on in our meal. Ambiance - a run of the mill small restaurant, nothing fancy. Parking is tight in the back. Didn't have much of a wait on Sunday at 7:30pm.

Had a nice wok hei flavor without being overbearing, and the noodles and veggies in the dish were cooked perfectly. The beef was super tender in both dishes, but I regret ordering the mongolian beef because they ended up having the same flavor profile. I would probably stick with the beef chow fun, and just order a different entree. Party of 12, since we got there early, we agreed. The side room had the biggest round table for us. They ask you what kind of tea you want, we like chrysanthemum tea. You order the items on the paper menu and it comes to your table. So we got going on the orders and TBH, we must be hungry, because we did a lot of orders (we had plenty of left overs). Tried some favorites and a few new items that we thought were unique to their restaurant. My dad has to order crispy noodle and chow fun, and we also ordered chicken fried rice. Ironically, I'm not a fan of them myself--they're a bit too eggy for my taste. When it comes to dim sum quality and service, I honestly prefer Koi Palace. The food quality there is more consistent, and the service is much more phenomenal. The only things this place really has over Koi Palace are the lower prices and those black sesame custard buns my friend loves! I've been here at least a dozen times, and the food can be hit or miss. Sometimes dishes come out cold, like they've been sitting out for a while instead of being served fresh and hot. That said, there are a few items we always order that are consistently good when brought out fresh like salted crispy pork chops, siu mai, shrimp rolls, and fried calamari. Be prepared for a wait on weekends since it gets crowded. If you're coming with a large group, it's best to arrive before noon. The restaurant is located next to a hotel, and finding the restroom can be confusing since it's inside the hotel. Service is also pretty minimal--they seem understaffed, and I almost always have to flag someone down just to get basics like soy sauce, chili, and water. I don't understand why they don't just have the sauce on the table for guest to dip, but I get that they're saving $ on controlling the cost down. On my most recent visit, the experience really went downhill. Our table had food but no soy sauce, chilli nor water, and when I flagged a waiter multiple times, he got visibly annoyed and irritated. It was frustrating--we shouldn't have to chase someone down repeatedly for basic condiments. Being met with attitude for that honestly left a bad impression. That experience alone makes me reconsider coming back. Good food at a good price is one thing, but poor service--especially to that extent--can really ruin the overall experience.
