They made a next-day appointment & phoned when they were on their way. A very knowledgeable technician - Josh arrived & after checking the plumbing in the basement, explained where the problem was. I had the option of hydro jetting or pouring a clog-clearing product called "Liquid Lightning" (which I never heard of) down the drain. I found the product at Walmart & used it as directed. So far, so good. I have two water heater replacements as well as other plumbing repairs coming in the near future & I will not hesitate to call Rockstar Plumbing. Unlike many businesses today, they are honest, knowledgeable, and (as advertised) don't charge for estimates.

We needed to stop a pinhole leak in the copper pipe above the water heater. Two additional pipe…read moreleaks were noted and repaired. Rotter Hero service began with eliminating 3 water line leaks feeding the water heater. The first pinhole leak had resulted in flooding of the platform, the ceiling, and the drywall. We called another company to perform mitigation and repair of the contaminated area, and Rooter Hero provided temporary removal and later reinstallation of the water heater tank. The reinstallation included installing a new recirculation pump and a new expansion tank. We noticed that after the new pump was installed and set up, there was at least a 2 minute delay for hot water to arrive at some of our showers and sinks. We didn't even get hot water in some bathrooms. And we had neither warm nor hot water in the kitchen, regardless of delay. It was the same kind of delay or worse which occurs without the pump in use. I checked the orientation of the pump, and it seemed to be incorrectly mounted, with respect to water flow direction. We called Rooter Hero on Saturday September 12, one day after they finished the job, and requested a technician come out and check why the significant delay to receive hot water. The technician came out on Sunday September 13. I explained our concern, and he checked inside the house for the behavior. His checking technique was to find the nearest bathtub or jacuzzi and run a high volume of "hot" water for 20 or 30 seconds, which then made warm or hot water available at the nearest sink or shower. It seemed to me that was not an appropriate test of the pump, but that was declared the "solution." Additionally, the new drain pan provided which was either 26 or 28 inch diameter, during reinstallation was a very tight fit for the tank base, and the PVC from the drain pan extended only down to the garage floor and was not reconnected to the existing PVC pipe already mounted on the wall and available to carry water outdoors. Also, the water heater grounding wire and its 2 clamps were not properly secured. The total for the plumbing work was over $9,000, and we still had hot water delay problems. Although they have a Satisfaction Guaranteed or Your Money Back written policy, after talking to their "care" team on the phone, they said they would respond later that afternoon. Still waiting. STAY AWAY FROM THESE "Heroes." We called another water heater company on September 16 who came over within an hour, correctly reoriented the pump and associated piping, added a recirculation line manifold, and added a few feet of PVC to connect the drain pan PVC to the existing PVC drain pipe. All fixed within about 3 hours, for a very reasonable price.
