We needed to stop a pinhole leak in the copper pipe above the water heater. Two additional pipe leaks were noted and repaired. Rotter Hero service began with eliminating 3 water line leaks feeding the water heater. The first pinhole leak had resulted in flooding of the platform, the ceiling, and the drywall. We called another company to perform mitigation and repair of the contaminated area, and Rooter Hero provided temporary removal and later reinstallation of the water heater tank. The reinstallation included installing a new recirculation pump and a new expansion tank. We noticed that after the new pump was installed and set up, there was at least a 2 minute delay for hot water to arrive at some of our showers and sinks. We didn't even get hot water in some bathrooms. And we had neither warm nor hot water in the kitchen, regardless of delay. It was the same kind of delay or worse which occurs without the pump in use. I checked the orientation of the pump, and it seemed to be incorrectly mounted, with respect to water flow direction. We called Rooter Hero on Saturday September 12, one day after they finished the job, and requested a technician come out and check why the significant delay to receive hot water. The technician came out on Sunday September 13. I explained our concern, and he checked inside the house for the behavior. His checking technique was to find the nearest bathtub or jacuzzi and run a high volume of "hot" water for 20 or 30 seconds, which then made warm or hot water available at the nearest sink or shower. It seemed to me that was not an appropriate test of the pump, but that was declared the "solution." Additionally, the new drain pan provided which was either 26 or 28 inch diameter, during reinstallation was a very tight fit for the tank base, and the PVC from the drain pan extended only down to the garage floor and was not reconnected to the existing PVC pipe already mounted on the wall and available to carry water outdoors. Also, the water heater grounding wire and its 2 clamps were not properly secured. The total for the plumbing work was over $9,000, and we still had hot water delay problems. Although they have a Satisfaction Guaranteed or Your Money Back written policy, after talking to their "care" team on the phone, they said they would respond later that afternoon. Still waiting. STAY AWAY FROM THESE "Heroes." We called another water heater company on September 16 who came over within an hour, correctly reoriented the pump and associated piping, added a recirculation line manifold, and added a few feet of PVC to connect the drain pan PVC to the existing PVC drain pipe. All fixed within about 3 hours, for a very reasonable price. read more

So I called them out to get an estimate on the possibility of snaking my drains in my yard with El nino coming I told the woman on the phone to make sure to put in the notes that I'm just looking to get an estimate and then see about getting the work done she said no problem we'll send a guy out he'll give you an estimate Then they called me up the next morning to confirm my appointment I said to him do the notes clearly show that I'm looking to get an estimate they said yes the guy will come out will give you an estimate So the guy comes out and tells me after we look at all the different stuff, oh I don't give estimates we come out and we tell you this is what it is either you do it or you don't super high pressure super aggressive so I told him to get out I said I told them I didn't want my time wasted by you coming out and contradicting he also said they put this down as an emergency call I said I was crystal clear and since they record my conversations they can hear it that I said it is 100% not an emergency, it is 100% not urgent you don't need to get somebody out right away I just need to get this done before El nino hits if it's affordable The exact opposite super high pressure super aggressive I'm in construction I don't treat people this way I do not recommend them I would not use them and I bet you they're work isn't that good either if they have to pressure people this way read more

Our kitchen sink was blocked up and we needed it cleared asap. We found Rooter Hero through Google search and they had a great price advertised to clear any drain. We called them and were able to make an appointment for a 10am to 12pm window the next day. Jesse M got here at 10:15 and did a great job clearing the drain. Price was as advertised and Jesse was friendly and helpful. Highly recommended. read more

Called them mid morning and their AI/robot informed me the next available appt. was between 12-2 pm. Rec'd a text about halfway through that window stating I should be contacted by a tech. soon. 2pm came and went, still no show. We needed some work to take down a water heater, rebuild the base and re- install. Also, a shower valve needed to be replaced. At the time of estimate, we mentioned we had a Rooter Hero Plumbing 10% off coupon for Veterans. He said, "No problem. " The total for the work was over $7,900.00. The work was done and before paying, we asked about the 10% off and presented the coupon. The plumber who did the work said we needed to pay the full amount and call the office the next day to get the 10% back. After numerous calls to the local office and corporate, we never got a reply to our calls. We finally submitted a credit card dispute, providing proof of their 10% off for Veterans. We opened the dispute on June 6th, and today (July 21), my fiance gets a phone call from collections for Rooter Hero to collect the 10% that Chase held during the dispute investigation! I cannot recommend a company that treats America's Veterans this way! They offer a 10% off coupon for services, refuse to honor it and then send the Veteran to collections! And as a side note: they also advertise a coupon for 10% off for seniors also! It's a shame that they prey on the elderly also! read more

I couldn't be more impressed with the service we received from Ed. We were dealing with low water pressure in our shower and weren't sure what the root cause was. Ed came in and immediately stood out--not just because of his professionalism, but because of how patiently he took the time to explain what was going on. He walked me through how the pressure regulator was affecting the overall system and broke down the different options to fix it. What really stood out was that Ed didn't try to upsell us--he actually proposed a more cost-effective solution that fully addressed the problem without any unnecessary work. That kind of honesty and transparency is rare these days. The work was done efficiently, the results were immediate, and I now have perfect water pressure in the shower. I highly recommend Ed to anyone looking for a trustworthy and knowledgeable plumber. Five stars all the way! read more

Was happy with the customer service provided, received the service requested as offered.

if Jay Napoli shows up as your plumber, shut the door. Jay inspected the job, promised to follow up with a quote. Several weeks later and numerous calls, texts, still no response. Roto Hero customer service promises to escalate. Still no response on the job quote. This happened TWICE, first on a toilet install and next on another visit for a sink install. No promised quote, so I went with another plumber. On a side note, do NOT allow Jay to upsell you on unnecessary work; ex. adding a clean out valves, full sewer drain clean outs, replacing working toilets or sinks because he simply states that he's is "not a fan of that brand." Jay simply just wants to separate you from your money with unnecessary upsells, or by using fear, or claiming the homeowner's plumbing fixtures are poor quality, etc. How about some honesty? Jay did fix the blockages. But only after having to cut thru all of the BS attempts to make everything into a bigger problem. Roto Hero was a big disappointment read more

My husband and I had Rooter Hero at our house for two different jobs and got great service with both. We had two different plumbers - Josh, who cut and capped a gas line, and then Paul, who replaced a toilet that we had received for free from the DWP a few years ago (they were trying to get their customers to go "green") and that was crapping out (pun intended). Both of them were knowledgeable, professional and did good work. We were very satisfied with the job they did and would definitely use this company in the future (hopefully not any time soon, no offense of course). We certainly recommend Rooter Hero for your plumbing needs. read more

Had a foul smell in our house a week and a half ago. Had Rooter Hero come out. They recommended a smoke test. We had another company come out (second opinion) and they also recommended a smoke test. Had the second company do the smoke test and isolated the area of our issue. We then had Rooter Hero come out again to get a second opinion regarding the solution. Our technician was Jay and he was great. We discussed doing some tests that would require another technician to assist him and we had to schedule that for a later date. We scheduled it for yesterday from 12pm to 2pm. I called yesterday morning to confirm...and they confirmed...someone from dispatch would contact me about their arrival time. 2pm came a went with no call. I contacted Rooter Hero, they said dispatch would contact me about rescheduling. Received no call. So, this morning, I called them again. They informed me I was on the schedule from 12pm to 2pm again. So, I shifted meetings and made sure I was available and home. I contacted their main number at 1:30pm and asked if I was being pranked because no one had contacted me yet. He told me dispatch would contact me. It's 2pm and no one has contacted me. I've put more work into this over the last two days than my job. While the technicians who visited our house were highly professional, knowledgeable, and curious...I don't know what's going on over there aside from that. Call these guys if you want to shift your schedule for them to no-show. Onto the next. read more

I hired Rooter Hero for a leak detection service. It was easy to book an appointment with them and they were punctual and they got the job done. However, the initial estimate was not given until they were onsite (even though it is a routine job with a flat rate), and it was insanely high. If I had not already done some research and gotten a quote from another plumber that Rooter Hero was willing to match, they would have tried to charge me twice the going rate for a leak detection. Lastly, FOUR TIMES I requested an invoice from the office with a statement about the leak that was found to show to LADWP, and each time they said they would send it along but never followed up. At this point I give up and am writing them a review to reflect the flakiness. read more

I called Rooter Hero to get a plumber to unclog kitchen drain. After giving my email and phone number the representative sent an email to confirm the appointment for the next 2 hours. After receiving no phone calls I called the office and was told they don't have a plumber available for today. I could have called someone else if I was told there are no appointments available for today. I wasted 3 hours and still need to find a plumber. Should not act high- handed. Listen to the customer and serve needs. Dispatch charge was not mentioned ahead and when I tried to mention finally he agreed. Left off as if he did a favor to me. Highly recommend do not deal with this Company. Not ready to listen and was trying to give a high estimate for an option which is not preferred by me. This company can serve ultra rich customers but incapable of serving a typical homeowner. read more

I hired this plumbing company to replace three faucets and tighten a loose kitchen faucet handle. Unfortunately, my experience was extremely disappointing. The first plumber who arrived had to call another technician for assistance. Despite having two plumbers at my home for nearly the entire day, only one faucet was replaced--and even that led to a leak under the sink. I ultimately had to tighten the pipe myself before the plumber could return. The faucet still leaks around the handles. The other two faucets were not replaced at all, and the kitchen faucet handle that was supposed to be tightened is loose again. I paid $600, and at the end of the day, none of the issues were fully resolved. I cannot recommend this company based on my experience, and I strongly urge others to look elsewhere for plumbing services. read more

This will be a repost because I need to make sure I spread the word to the right company/people of the quick, reliable, and responsive service I got from this Plumbing company and more specifically, Anton - our plumber. Our kitchen sinks water pressure has been wonky for way too long and when we reached out to the city all they said was "the pressure is fine" when indeed - the pressure was not fine. On 2/9 - my spouse reached out to this company and by 2/11 - we were back up and running! Anton, our plumber, came in and within 5 minutes he fixed and explained the issue and now we're back with our kitchen sink working at full blast! Turned off my water main, late yesterday afternoon, to do a simple hose pipe tap replacement in my back yard, when the plastic pipe just below the shutoff exploded! Had to turn off the supply at the street as water was now spraying several feet down my driveway. Called Rooter Hero, who were unable to come out yesterday due to late hour but said they would be here between 9-11am this morning. Cole turned up at 9:30 and couldn't have been more pleasant. He informed me of the potential time to complete the job and said he'd like to let the glue set for at least a couple of hours to ensure a good bond. He completed the work in a timely manner, then took a much deserved lunch break to allow glue to set. Came back a little while later, turned water on to test, and all is good again! Unfortunately I can't comment on the price as I'm just the tenant here, and that's the owners concern : ) Cole was a super nice guy, with an admirable work ethic, coupled with great communication throughout the entire process. Would recommend their services to anyone! Now it's finally time for a bloody shower : ) read more

Travis worked so long and hard to fix the clogged kitchen drain. He not only fixed it, but with his discovery found that we had deteriorating pipes that could clog permanently at any time. DO NOT hire these guys. They send out a $44 mailer for Roto service. Then they say its $44 per drain. The worst part of all, only two days after their plumber left, THE DRAIN CLOGGED AGAIN. The plumber was smiling the whole time he was at my home, knowing he was only pushing the clog out of the way temporarily instead of fixing the problem correctly. Also, I asked him to fix a broken flush arm. After he left, I noticed he had NOT repaired the broken flush arm. I also found the plumber to be a bit creepy asking about personal items around my home. A minority Female own local nail shop in Pasadena had water flood from floor sink, trying to fix and remedy the situation immediately and got hold of a technician from rooter hero. It's sad I have to give 1 star out of 5 as a business owner, how upset I am can not describe 1000's of their 1 star review and I feel obligated to share my recent experience with rooter hero with yelp community, and hoping that I am the last victim to go thought this, and should never let this happen to any desperate small business owner nor to any female who doesn't have plumbing knowledge. A technician who came out first suggested that I run water leak detection and that I should also have a restoration company to come out so that they can start cleaning up the place so the business that has been destroyed from the water ( the whole vinyl floor was wet and needed to be ripped off, dried ) can start operate soon. One of the restoration company I called and found from yelp was able to come out pretty quick but the technician from rooter hero refused to work with them and explained to me that he has a protocol and he has a specific restoration company that he is only comfortable working with.( later I found out that the plumber gets very high Referal fee) While waiting for the crews from restoration company come out, he said the water detection will cost $950 and he suggested that I run hydrojet for all faucets (I had 6 faucets for pedicure bowl) which will cost me additional $1600 to clean up the pipe. I was desperate and fix the immediate situation with water, I agreed to sign and he quickly handed me his IPad with no explanation rather than that is for agreeing with service fee, nothing was left for me to read or explained, and I signed. At first I refused to do hydrojet, and He told me that he can provide me a discount and asked me how much I was willing to pay for the hydrojet service. I explained to him that my recent hydrojet service I received for other location costed me $120 and agreed to pay $350 to run hydrojet. The whole cleanup was moving forward with the restoration company and the plumber from rooter hero came back and was trying to clean up the pipe. The plumber came back to me and asked me that I might have an issue with my drain pipe under concrete, he doesn't know where the blockage is coming from and that his jet wouldn't pass certain point. He suggests me to run an inspection camera to find out where the source of water flood. I asked him what the cost will be, and he said it will be $5800 for jackhammering the concrete and that the cost doesn't include fixing the pipe. I was shocked to hear how expensive it was,and he started explaining to me that it will not be part of my expense but the insurance company or the landlord should cover it because none of it was my fault. I was very desperate, felt like my time and effort had been vested, desperately wanting to restore, remedy situation as fast as I can. He elaborately explained to me that insurance or the property manager must cover this expenses because none of it should be my fault, it's an accident and the pipe most likely at fault is underground, drain pipe, structural issue. I called the property management company, he explained the situation to the property manager, but the property manager quickly told him she will not do anything but if the fault is found in landlord's responsibility, then she will send her vendor to investigate. He insisted that I move forward with the service knowing how desperate I was, but I explained to him I would like to get a second opinion. That day, He ended up accidentally leaving the sink faucet open after his attempt to hydrojet which caused further water damage. Not only he couldn't complete the service but also the sink faucet pipe left unhook, the water ended up coming out, and extended an extra day of the dehumidification process. After trying to get different quotes for the pipe inspection, I found out at no cost Jack hammering was not even necessary because there were multiple access points they could run camera without jackhammering the concrete floor and those access points were clearly visible from the floor sink there was water flood where he was attempting to administer hydro jetting. After-all, my total expenses were $1300 with no pipe cleaning, no camera inspection, charged for services that was not needed - water detection. Do not ever work with this dishonest, unscrupulous with absolutely no integrity plumbing company. Technicians/plumbers are commission shared with no set pricing in place, their business model is set to try to charge customers as much as you can get away with it, take advantage of their unfortunate situation with no sympathy at all. read more

Service: 5+ stars for Tracy Price: 4 Since my mom does not have yelp, I'm reviewing for her (her words). This review is for Tracy Rygh. Tracy was professional and respectful. He was extremely competent and cleaned the work area when he was finished. Tracy is trustworthy! Michael Noteware (field supervisor): He was professional and patiently clarified questions. ----------------------------------------- After talking to my mom, it seemed like she was very happy with Tracy's work. She said that Tracy was there 2 days in a row for several hours each day. It sounded like Tracy was very patient and friendly. He was nice enough to scratch our dog. Tracy even helped my mom find her cell phone when she thought she lost it. The price sounded a little high, but I guess that's because it comes with a one year warranty. First off I never write reviews. This company is such a scam I had to warn people. My 75 gallon hot water tank broke and today they gave me a quote to replace the tank. The quote was for over 11 thousand dollars!!! Yes ELEVEN THOUSAND DOLLARS! Beyond insulting that they think I would be that stupid to pay that, and I know that me being a young woman is part of it. I looked up online the exact tank and saw it was been sold for no more than $1,200 I bring this to his attention while I'm on the phone with him because it was a joke at this point. He then goes into his speech about how he needs to get permits with the city ( HUGE LIE ) and that the ones from Home Depot are cheap and break, when I looked up the same brand he was going to provide. I can't help but wonder how many people they take advantage of. This company should be so ashamed of themselves and I hope I can help save someone from being scammed by writing this. I called 3 other plumming company's after and was provided quotes from 3k- 4K for the exact same service they were trying to charge me for 11K STAY AWAY !!!!!!!!! read more
