I had a very bad clog in my bathroom sink. They did a great job, quick and clean, and the price was clear from the beginning.

Unfortunately, this company is a rip off. First: they stole the name of their company from the company that trademarked it - Make it Drain Plumbing . Second, they changed me $1,100 to remove a clog from my kitchen sink line. In charging me that exorbitant amount, they also missed a problem and had to come back a week later to fix something they should have covered in the first trip.   Furthermore, they recommended replacing my cast iron kitchen pipes with PVC. I had another, better company take a look at the system, and:   1)        They said that replacing the metal pipes with PVC, as Make it Drain recommended - would be malpractice.  Yes - PVC pipes last a long time.  But PVC is much much louder, and that the sound of water rushing through the walls would be upsetting to me and my family and guests.  They couldn't believe that Make it Drain recommended PVC.  They recommended modern cast iron with slick interior walls.  Furthermore - they said honestly that I do not need to replace the pipes at all.  That I can pour boiling water down the pipes every month, and have it cleaned out every year or so - and be just fine.  Lastly, they would replace all the pipes in that system with cast iron for a thousand dollars less than Make it Drain - even their discounted price.  2)        They also told me that Make it Drain overcharged me for cleaning out that pipe.  They said that 1100 was an extremely, radically high price, and they would have charged $500. When I raised these concerns with Make it Drain, and asked for explanations and understanding - they just threatened to put a mechanical lien on my property. We have a file with all of the plumbing we've done in the past with different plumbing contractors. This company (or perhaps just the technician they sent out) severely took advantage of my family. We had a leak on the second floor in the master shower. MID was available for 24-hour emergency service. They came out quickly, found, and stopped the leak. The shower valve cartridge was bad and needed to be replaced. We were quoted $375 for labor (including the initial visit) plus parts. No problem. When the same tech came back, he replaced the cartridge and valve. I was at work at the time, so my wife paid him...$1575.00! The cartridge and hardware were approximately $200. So the maximum we should have been looking at was around $600. Not nearly three times that cost. Obviously, if I were there, I would have protested. My wife didn't know about the previously quoted price and just paid it, because she trusted him, as you should be able to from a reputable company. The techs name is Alfonso. When I called him, he actually laughed off my concerns. He told me that was "the going rate." After searching online, the quote range for a shower cartridge replacement ranges from $300-700, which is what his original quote was. Where did the $1575 come from? I have no idea. He is a crooked man. He took advantage of us in a vulnerable situation. He knew that if he came when I wasn't home, my wife would be more likely to just pay the bill, no questions asked. The fact that he laughed it off and basically told me "too bad" is unbelievable. By the way, I have the whole work order with the above information and quote in writing. Interestingly, after I had signed the quote, he filled in a separate section with the new amount in the "authorization of work" in a different color ink, AFTER the job was done. If Alfonso is the type of person this company employs, they're willing to steal your money, lie to you, and forget documents, I highly advise you to look elsewhere. I had a plumbing issue and received quotes of 12-16k. Jaime and his team came in and did the job for 4k. What I was most impressed with is that when there was issues with our shower and kitchen faucet due to the new water pressure and piping, they went ahead and fixed it. They did the work they said they were going to do and when other problems arose, which they always do, they took care of them too. Jaime was the plumber I worked with. Jaime immediately knew way to do he started from the outside opening then he took some pictures to located the right area that was causing the clog. I have been in the middle of a plumbing nightmare (kitchen sink) since before the Fourth of July. I contacted 10 plumbers between July 5th and 6th and had the good grace to find Make it Drain. Rubin, my plumber, came to do the bid and explained everything to me from head to toe. He took the pipe apart and looked inside the drain and said that the pipe was corroded and that it was galvanized. Basically, I needed a new pipe, which was also affecting my neighbor since we share a common wall, and the pipe was in the shape of a "T." He not only guaranteed his work but insured any possible broken pipes or flooding. I ended up going with Make it Drain and it went seamlessly! Rubin is a hardworking, down to earth, nice guy. He takes his time but is very efficient and effective. He came this morning (yes, a Sunday!) and within 3 hours, both me and my neighbor have running water again. I needed a water valve replacement ahead of installation of a new washer/dryer set. Make It Drain sent JESSE same day to quote job and he stayed and completed it, even though he had multiple challenges with parts and major corrosion due to the age of the valve, which he had to rebuild. This was Friday afternoon and he finished about 7pm. On Saturday afternoon we noticed a lot of water was leaking from under the machines and couldn't see where it was coming from. I called MID and they had someone (not Jesse) to send out soon. Not 5 minutes later Jesse called me from home (his day off) and said he was on his way. He arrived and pulled the machines out and found the old washer (we had to reschedule the new set's delivery due to the valve repair) had sprung a big leak. This company claims that they have the best service I couldn't disagree, more. I had an emergency at one in the morning the plumber turned up charge $175 for two minutes. Consultation promised me that I would get a call back in the morning when I tried calling the number but I had to call the night before the mailbox was full. So then I had to call another number to get some answers. The guy was an apologetic and generally rude. There's no way in the world that I would recommend this company to anybody who wants an efficient go to Plumber. I understand being charged quite a lot from Midnight Call but now supposed to follow through And the manager that I spoke to didn't even know what I was talking about absolutely outrageous. read more

I called this company and they send a guy named Alfonso. I told him I had a leak in the sprinkler valve and pvc pipe connection and my main shutoff valve wasn't working so I was unable to turn the water fully off .This guy came and looked around and said he can come the next day to fix . I asked how much and he gave me a ridicules estimate of $1250 for changing 3 shutoff valves and attaching a male connector to sprinkler valve. Shut off valve costs $12 each x 3 = $36, 3/ 4 PVC male adapter cost = $0.29. He said it would take him 30min to complete the job. So I guess he charges $2400 per hour. Heart surgeons make around $200 an hour. This company is a rip off . I gave him his $75 service fee for doing nothing and sent him away. read more

My daughter called this company when a valve on the toilet burst. The guy who came out did not have the correct part. He advised he would be out the next day by 6:00 pm with the correct part. A different guy showed up at noon the next day with out the correct part. That evening I received a phone call from another guy telling me that he could not get out that night, he was standing in a long line, and it could take him an hour before he would check out with his purchases. I expressed my frustration with him and the company, and said OK. What else could I say? He called a half hour later and said he could be there that night. He did bring the correct part and for that they charged me $425.00 for a $10 part and 10 minute installation. I would not recommend their poor quality of service and communication and their excessive service charge. In update to my initial post. I spoke with a company representative. After a lengthy discussion, he offered to reimbursed me part of the fees which have been received, with a written apology and request I call them in the near future to allow them to prove themselves. I am updating my post as promised. I hope they can be better organized in the future. read more

If I could give 6 stars, I would. I called late morning because my toilet was clogged. Ivan came within the hour. He was really good in every way- he knew what he was doing, was professional, courteous, knowledgeable, and was very helpful in explaining everything and answering my gazillion questions. I can tell he was honest and was not trying to upsell me on anything (or trying to rip me off, as some plumbers do). He first started to fix the problem the cheapest way, with a simple short snake, but that did not fix the problem, as it ended up my clog ran deeper. He took the time to get it done right and de-clogged my toilet fully, which ended up requiring him to lift the toilet and run a very long snake as far as possible all the way to the front door of my house. I would call Make it Drain next time I have issues and would recommend it to my friends and family. read more

Outstanding service. We had a clogged drain on Saturday morning and called at 8:30; Peter was at our door less than three hours later. He spent close to an hour fixing it and only charged us the stated-up-front cost of $49. He even, when we told him we were about to remodel the kitchen, spent another twenty minutes running his camera down our pipes so we could see their condition (bad; they're old). And he didn't try to up-sell us anything as a result; when I asked him if they did that kind of job, he said they did and would be glad to do it if we wanted to call him when we were ready. But he left it at that. That's the first time I've ever had a plumber come so fast, charge such a reasonable fee, and not try to take advantage of an opportunity to sell me something else. I never write review but this company's service is so poor.... Monday afternoon the main drain of my rental house backed up ( roots get into the drain) which is not the first time. ( It happened once about year and a half ago, I had someone came in did the camera and sneak which last me until Monday. Unfortunately, The guy that I used last time was busy and can't make to the same day. So I called around. "make it drain"offered they can come in 2-3 hrs then I took it. To cut story short, The guy Alex came and did camera and sneak like other guy did but this time only last me less than 48 hrs. The drain backed up again on Wednesday noontime. The dirty mess came back as well in the areas that we just paid someone deep cleaned and sanitized. With both me and my tenant scrambling to reach out to both him and the company finally he came back to fix the drain. of course, not in the good service mood no apology and refuse to help clean up the mess was cost by his poor quality work . At 6.30 no one is here, i call and they don't even seem to have my infos, they ask for my name and say they're gonna call me back with an update. another 30 mns pass and of course no one call me. really great service & very professional. We had a problem with the kitchen sink backing up (and thus the shower.) and Peter came over same-day. He discovered that one area of pipe under the house was too small causing the issue. Our home had been remodeled when we purchased it, and we have been finding a few things that were really not done properly...so this wasn't a huge shock, to be honest. Peter uses a snake camera and can show you the problem areas if you have trust issues :P he cleared the issue temporarily and told us what our options were (and we actually had options but eventually the problem would come up again) so we decided to have him replace the pipe in the area affected as well as put in a clear out & do a hydro-jet service once it was all in place. We set a time & day (Sunday!) and he was on time and did the work within the time frame & price he quoted. Peter was tidy with all the gear and respectful of our space. He discovered stuff that other plumbers have missed - including our initial home inspection. Now things work better than they ever have. All their work is guaranteed for quite some time as well- which is awesome. I feel like most other plumbers I've dealt with in the past don't offer that and just want to throw band-aids on problems that actually need more and could have been repaired right the first time.
