We got a response from extreme plumbing and they were willing to come on a Sunday. They noted there was a charge but it would count towards the services, so that was nice. They quoted 1-3 but came earlier so that was nice. They called to make sure it was ok. They arrived and it was two gentleman. Alen and someone else. They were very friendly, quick, transparent about pricing and services needed, wore booties inside the house (very important to us) and just overall a great experience. The team was great about dealing with a bit of an under the sink kitchen nightmare. I had some old equipment like a busted garbage disposal, some non-working filters, and wanted to clean that up and install a new faucet as well. When asking for quotes, they were very specific about the scope of work, and the cost for any labor or additional parts, which was helpful in understanding the total cost of the job. I called Extreme Plumbing for a backed up sewage system which had overflowed into our shower and master bathroom. Alen was our main contact, although the entire team worked hard to restore our system as quickly as possible. Initially, I thought the problem just needed a rooter to clear the blockage like it has in the past. The initial quoted price was for the rooter, and I was told the price would not change without discussion. If only it had been that simple. As things go, the problem was more complicated, and they could not clear the drain. Bad news. After some discussion and an adjusted price, the next step was to use the sewer camera which resulted in determining there were some blockages that could not be cleared. It turned out that the sewer line had issues with two trees in our front yard; their roots were collapsing the original terracotta sewage line. The camera revealed 2 collapsed sections which needed repair and holes would need to be dug; in total, 60' of sewer line needed replacement. Another adjusted, reasonable price was given. Additional complications came up but Alen and his team handled them with determination. In the end, 3 other inside drains needed to be snaked or rooted out as a result of the initial blockage. All done, the cost, while substantial, was as expensive as expected, and it included a warranty. We will be doing a kitchen renovation in the near future, and will be using Extreme Plumbing for that and all our plumbing needs going forward. They seemed liked a friendly staff. However, they were not truthful to me or my HOA company about my repair. They did two repairs for me because the first one they did failed. They said they didn't need to do leak detection because they were so confident in fixing my leak. But it wasn't fixed. So they ended up doing a second repair where they had to install new pipes. They reported to my HOA company that this was MY choice to do and therefore my responsibility to pay for it. This company does NOT have your back and only care about keeping long term contracts. I'm no expert in plumbing, so take what I say with a grain of salt here. The TLDR is this: 1. These guys came in with a machine, tried to fix my issue, and said "Sorry, it didn't work -- you'll need to do a 1200$ repair instead." 2. The next day I brought in a different guy with the same machine, and he fixed the issue for 100$. Again, I'm not an expert so I don't really know what happened here. All I know is that these guys said I'd need a 1200$ repair, and another guy did it for 100$ and my issue is fine now. Not trying to be mean, but "Could've been better" seems like the appropriate review. *** For transparency, here's my summary of what happened: The kitchen sink was draining too slowly. It was pretty bad. I posted a project on Yelp, and Abe at Extreme Plumbing and Rooter messaged me and seemed like a good guy. We agreed for him to drop by later that day. All good so far -- I appreciated his transparency about prices and his willingness to stop by same day. So later that day two guys show up with a rooting machine. I've taken everything out from the under-kitchen-sink cabinet and after a quick assessment of the area they get to work with the rooting machine. It takes about ten minutes. Once they're done, the kitchen sink still doesn't drain. They're quite apologetic and offer to lower the previously agreed-upon price (140 IIRC) to 80. They also say that if we do further work with them to fix the issue, they'll apply that 80$ to the next bill. Which seems nice of them, I appreciate it. So what's the further work they recommend? Basically they say we'd need to drill a new access pipe, since there isn't one for the kitchen sink presently. Then they'd bring a bigger rooting machine, and possibly a hydrojet. They estimate this would cost 1200$. I say I'd have to think about that, it's a lot. They understand, thank me for my time, I thank them for theirs, and I give them a 20$ tip anyway. There is a little confusion where I think the main 3" pipe might be the access line for the kitchen, and I ask them about this and they offer to hydrojet that line for 650, but they say it won't fix the kitchen sink issue. In the end it doesn't matter, I was just confused about which pipe was which. Anyway, I ask around and a friend recommends another guy. This guy drops by the next day. He takes a look at the situation, tests the faucets, the toilets, etc, looks at the access pipe and confirms it's not for the kitchen, and then goes back to his van and grabs a rooting machine. When I see the rooting machine, I'm surprised. I say, "Hey, sorry, we had some guys here yesterday -- they used that same machine and it didn't work." The guy goes, "Maybe same machine, but I'm more skilled. If it doesn't work, no charge. Trust me." I'm skeptical, but I say, "Alright then, sure, give it a shot." The guy gets to work, he puts in the rooter and does his thing. Sure enough, after about ten minutes the sink drains PERFECTLY. Like, it makes a pop sound at the end, like a cartoon. The ideal sink draining experience (to the extent there is such a thing). I ask him, "How is this possible? I swear some other guys were here yesterday and said it would cost 1200$ to fix this!" The guy shows me his rooter machine and says, "It's long. It has metal on the end. Your pipe was just sludged. It's no problem." I thank him and give him a 40% tip because, why not. *** So what am I to conclude from this? I have no idea. Maybe there was something the Extreme Plumbing and Rooting folks just missed coincidentally about this issue, or maybe they didn't do the right tests so they didn't diagnose the issue? Maybe they were trying to upsell me? I don't know. I tend to not immediately jump to "They're scammers," because I'm also a repair tech (I fix electronics and stuff) and I know most people are really just trying to help and it's hard to diagnose issues sometimes. So that's my story. Everyone makes mistakes. It's fine. But, just in the spirit of total transparency, it seems like Extreme Plumbing and Rooting made a mistake on my job. So I'm not gonna go all the way to 1-star, but I gotta admit -- not the best experience I've had here. Anyway, hope everyone who reads this gets the right person for the job and has their issue resolved quickly. Cheers to all-- read more

Where do I begin... I have been charged $780 by this company to come and perform a "leak detection"... they opened two parts on the drywall, they didn't even remove the water heater. Once they found the leak, they charged me an additional $900 to replace the cold water valve and two other minor things they advised me to fix-they said it would take half a day, they were done in an hour. Talk about being ripped off. Proceed with extreme caution when reaching out to them for any kind of work as you'll be overcharged. I would not recommend. read more

Since my review I have received numerous calls and messages from Extreme Plumbing. Unfortunately, we were not able to come to a resolution. They even admitted to losing all records of the work done at my house, aside from the credit card slip. They claim this was the reason they had not returned any calls or emails. I needed the remote laundry shutoff valves in my fiance's 2 bedroom condo replaced. They were the originals from 1975. They arrived well within their arrival window of 10-12am, at 10:10am and finished the job by 11:45am. And, it had to be soldered, they had to remove the wall panel and also had to reroute the pipes to an extent to get everything to fit so as not to have to make further modifications. I have had the same water heater for 20 years now. When I found out that there's no hot water, I was so sure that my water heater has gone bad and it is time to replace it.
