I have been dealing with Ninja Plumber for many years - complete re-pipe, drain line replacement, replacing several sinks, toilets, faucets, gas lines, etc. (see my previous reviews). I have always been very happy with their work, which is guaranteed. I have sent their technicians to my sister's house, as well as my nephew's house. We had Ninja Plumber out on Tuesday to deal with a leaky pipe we have in our front yard. We have a very high pressure issue in our area which causes the valves to eventually need to be replaced and this was that kind of issue. Last time we had it replaced it was a few years ago and we paid around $500. The technician arrived and I showed him the issue as well as a problem that had just started with our water heater. There was water coming from under the pan in the water heater. The technician said that the water heater had bottomed out and we would need a new one. We had just bought this heater at Home Depot in January 2022 so I couldn't believe that it was bad. I asked if the issue in the front could be causing this and was told no. When all was said and done we were quoted $1200 to fix the pipe issue in the front and would need a new water heater to boot. We sent the technician away because we felt the quote to fix the issue was extremely high and this heater was under warranty so we weren't going to pay for a new one. We got the valve we needed at Home Depot that same evening and paid $294 for it. We contacted the water heater manufacturer and was told that unless we had around 50 gallons of water flooding our garage the water heater didn't bottom out and there was another issue. We had maybe a gallon or two of water overflowing but it was no where near a massive flood. We had another plumber come on Wed to replace the valve and he fixed the issue with the water heater which was overflowing because of the issue in the front. He had to tighten a few pipes on the water heater and that corrected that issue so the water heater was not defective at all. All of this took about an hour and we paid $300 for the whole service call. The valve replacement part was $294 so the rest of his $1200 quote was for labor?! The fact that Ninja Plumber wanted to charge us $900 in labor to change the valve is crazy! And to just look at the water heater and declare it defective is also insane! I think it's safe to say we won't be calling Ninja Plumber again and I highly recommend that if any does want to use them to get a second opinion before going with the first quote from them. read more

I called to get a quote on replacing a cartridge that was causing a slow drip on bathtub/shower. Also asked if they could tighten up a nut on the P-Trap. When they finally came out, guy said the tub diverter needed to be replaced, said that would be $300. He didn't even bother looking at the cartridge I had asked to be replaced. He also said the P-Trap was corroded and needed to be replaced. Mind you, PVC does NOT corrode, and it was a fairly new install. This would be $550 per his quote. Brought the total up to $850. "Luckily" the guy was being "generous" and gave me a 10% discount if I let him do the work. A quick google search let me know that the work should cost between $200-500 (with $500 considered very expensive). The guy also mentioned he would have to go back to his office to pick up the pieces he needed, th, then come back to do the work. There was also no guarantee this would all fix the bathtub leak. (It wouldn't because the issue was in the cartridge not the diverter). To which he would have to reassess and give me an additional quote and do even more work. Had a different plumber come out and re-install the diverted, that was improperly installed by the ninja plumber. The new plumber that I got was able to flux the issues at a much more reasonable price. I would not recommend ninja plumbers read more

Okay, so as it turns out the person overseeing the work at my property, Josh Ortega, did a lot of damage to many clients, not just us. 3 years later the furnace died so I hired an HVAC team to come in and install a new system. They discovered that the new sewage lines which hired Ninja to do, were never completed. The black water and all sewage has been draining underneath the house all this time. I called Mor, the president of Ninja. He sent out a new team who diagnosed the issues and made both a plan for sewage remediation as well as to finish the original scope of work. Those old tile walls will never be the same but the plumbing and drain system are all in place and working correctly now. I give Mor huge points for working with us and making it right. If he goes after this ex-employee I told him that I'd be happy to testify, as are others. read more

I've had other plumbers unclogged my toilet in the past for $75-80 without having to remove the toilet and the person who came wanted to remove the toilet without even trying other simple method. The reason why I'm not giving 1 star is because the person showed up within the timeframe and mindful enough to cover his shoes before entering my house. read more

Paid $1200 for one hour work of changing out a pipe also plumber used a small camera to go up the pipe to inspect the blockage. Plumber had the gift of gab for the other time spent here. Plumber said he was doing was "good business" and mentioned that some plumbing companies charge a higher rate for certain zip code areas. Guess I may be in one of those areas. Last Friday evening, both of our toilets & showed started backing up on the house. We'd had smaller back-ups, but this was urgent. My wife called Ninja & we had Edgar at our house in an hour to clear the line... but his rooter was getting blocked, so he wanted to send someone Saturday morning to check the main sewer line with a camera. Saturday morning, we watched as the camera snaked along the line & exposed some 70 year old cast iron pipes that wasn't replaced when our house was renovated prior to us buying in 2004 as well as cracks all along the clay (yes, clay) pipe that connects to the sewer line. The clay pipe was also completely choked off by roots about 40 feet from the house. We decided to reinforce the entire line with a new system where a resin "sleeve" is rolled out into the exiting pipe & becomes hard as a rock. Edgar & his team didn't miss a beat and dug two, 4-foot holes to remove the cast iron, expand out 3" line to 4" and allow access to the long pipe connecting to the sewer. The entire process was completed within 48-hours of our original call & now we have a 15 year warranty as well. I can't thank Ninja & Edgar enough. We knew this fix was coming for years after semi-regular blockages, and it's nice to have the piece of mind that this issue is finally fixed! read more

I took a shower one morning and it wasn't draining at all. Then I shaved and water started coming up out of my bathtub drain. Come to find both of my toilets were clogged and NOTHING was draining in the whole house. I called Ninja and they came out within hours to snake the drain. Long story short, the 70 year old clay main sewer pipe from my house from my house to the street was broken in several places and roots were growing through many sections. Turns out I had to have most of it replaced and then I had to have the rest, from the sidewalk to the middle of the street, sleeved. At first I thought that last part must be the city's responsibility but they told me it was mine. I looked it up and sure enough, the homeowner is responsible for maintaining and repairing the whole drain pipe all the way to the main sewer pipe under the street. WTF?! Total. Nightmare. These guys had to dig up a big section of my lawn down 8 feet. They had to pull up landscaping stones and a bunch of plants to replace the pipe and sleeve the rest. So here's what you've read this far to find out: These guys are great. Armando led the work portion and Ken worked with me on the contract. Both of them were cool. They communicated well with me through the whole process and were sympathetic to the financial and logistical burden of the situation. Armando was really thorough in his work and spent an entire day just making sure my landscaping stones and plants were put back the way they were before. You can tell this dude cares about doing good work. I'm happy to say the plants survived because he put them on life support in some dirt during the job. He even replaced a leaky outdoor faucet for free. The price was more than I could afford at the moment and Ken worked with me on the price and was able to get me a 0 interest loan (for 12 months) to cover the cost. It's hard to find a good plumbing company you can trust who is going to do good work and not overcharge you. I found one who I'll always call first and recommend to friends. Honestly, let me start off with the positive. I have to say the appointment was easy to make and I asked the rep if it was possible to just get a quote or ballpark on the phone for the price because I already knew what was wrong she refused and said someone can come out the same day awesome! Now the insanity. We have a tankless water heater that had a 121 error code flash sometimes which is loss of flame where we would have hot water for 10 seconds and it would turn off and you'd have to reset it and it would work. Obviously doing this every couple of days to get hot water is annoying. I called the manufacturer for parts needed and they told me the flame rods might just need to be cleaned they sent me instructions but it was way above my comfort level, especially the first try so I called these people. These two come in look at the water heater I tell them what I need and they want to flush the unit (which I did not ask for and I already do regular flushing) this is a new house we bought so we weren't aware of how well the previous owners kept the unit. Then he tells me that they have to pull the unit off the wall and clean everything individually instead and I said how much does this cost? This is where my eyes came out of my head they wanted $1275 and I should be doing this every year. That's a JOKE I could get a brand new epic water heater with installation for 2200 bucks so you legit could get a new one for that price. He looks and me and asks me how much I would think it's less than 300 bucks. I want some of the drugs they're on. I really hope no one falls for these people they're overchargers. I told them to get off my property. I had someone come out the next day and change out the parts just to be safe for 85 DOLLARS not even bother to clean them literally tried to upsell you 95%. We used their service to replace our jurassic toilet and I can say that they are quick to respond and reliable. I called and I got an appointment the same day. I received a text confirmation who the plumber is and the estimated time of arrival. I'm happy with the work of Jonathan Trejo. We had our brand new toilet bowl installed and he took care of disposing the old one (paid extra for disposal). He had to come back the following day to fix a small leaking issue that a regular person couldn't see at all. It took him a while to complete but at least I know that he's making sure that everything is working perfectly. He left the area clean and neat. Great service! Echoing one of the other reviewers, we were overcharged to evaluate a backed up toilet. They ran a camera and said we needed to descale and pipe line with epoxy about 10 feet of the sewer line. They wanted to charge $8k. When we expressed concern about the price we were told the "real" price would be $12k but they were giving us a deal at $8k. According to google: On average, pipe lining costs $80 to $250 per linear foot. The price depends on various factors, such as the pipe condition, ease of navigation, the amount of cleaning needed before the lining, and the accessibility of the pipe. So the charge should have been $800-$2500. When we mentioned getting a second estimate, we were then charged $500 for lifting the toilet and doing the camera inspection." Most plumbers offer free camera inspections and free estimates. (We hired a different plumber who did just that.) Most of the reviewers noted the work to be excellent and they apparently have a reputation of responding quickly. But from our experience they seem to try and charge whatever they think they can get away with. We can't do business with folks like that. read more

It seems hard to find a trustworthy plumber, but when we needed one, we got a recommendation from a friend: Ninja Plumber. Adam was assigned to the case! We had a large leak behind the kitchen sink and also a weird bath spout situation that a few other plumbers were not able to figure out (except to break into the wall and redo the piping - which - no thanks!). Adam knew exactly what he was doing and worked efficiently, but methodically. They're not the cheapest, but you don't want the cheapest. They are actually a good value for the money and we didn't feel like the price was unreasonable for the work. And he really exceeded expectations with the way he left the area after, he left it better than before he came! They also have a five-year warranty on the work which is nice. We've learned the hard way that cutting corners on quality plumbers only costs us in the end. We ended up using Adam again for a few mystery leaks at my parents house. They had a couple of plumbers mess things up there, too, but he straightened it out. And my parents were super impressed with him also. I plan to request Adam for any future plumbing needs, but I'm sure you can't go wrong with anyone there. read more

My garbage disposal failed after about 10 years of use. After doing all the usual troubleshooting I isolated the issue to a damaged motor. Although I could fix it myself, I could not spend the time to replace it. I called Ninja Plumber because they gave me great service for plugged drains in the past. They set up an appointment at 9:00am the next day and sent Julio who is courteous, professional and keeps everything clean and organized. He was on time as usual and inspected the disposal to see if there was an easy fix. He also identified the damaged motor. He purchased a new (better) one and had it installed with a new drain flange in less than 2 hours, including cleanup. Best service ever. I want a refund - I was lied to and over charged. Plumber said he would check both handles of my faucet for this 185 amount but only checked one and refused to check the other. He told me he couldn't figure out what stem had to be replaced and didn't have any stems in his truck to try to replace it. Another plumber later told me all plumbers keep this in their truck and it was just a standard stem that was required and easy to fix. This plumber said it would be an extra 650 to fix it since it would be hard to locate the correct stem. A friend with no plumbing experience fixed this for me in less than 1 hour (and easily knew which stem to use) and other plumbers said the total cost to fix both values would be 180. So you shouldn't have charged me 185 to just look at it and then say it was an extra 650 to fix. He also gave me a 495 estimate to replace a basket strainer in my kitchen sink which only costs about 10 from Home depot and takes 15-30 min to replace according to someone else. When I signed his device it was just a blank screen so he said i was just signing for the amount charged. I didn't see the text of what I was signing until he emailed it later. read more

Extremely Inexperienced and unprofessional. The age old scam of "you need a new, in this case a water heater" $9000, for someone on a fixed income, just because it is 6 years old and operates well...just to make money for themselves!!! This is an elderly/disabled neighbor I check on who was experiencing an unusual leak, not from the water heater but an expansion tank/over flow/pressure tank. She paid $1500, No billing statement given, no explanation of service or parts needs! Terrible! She paid sight unseen for the replacement, item and an additional part sold to her, and 45 minutes for install after he returned from a lengthy lunch break. When I researched the products, $50 for the tank, and $25 for the unnecessary piece, for a total of (($75)) in parts...Service fee $1425?? OUTRAGEOUS!! The service person Jesse then told her that he tried several times but couldn't get the water heater turned back on, proving his lack of training and knowledge, and supporting his claim for a replacement. It was used fine for a quick bathing ten minutes prior to their arrival! The leak was the only issue! At this point is when she was told she needed a new water heater @$9000.!!! GUESS WHAT...Another neighbor friend turned it on for her in 2 minutes, and thinks the service person turned it off intentionally!! Criminal! To prey on the elderly and disabled to benefit one's self! She still has not received an itemized service billing in person or online. He also wanted to keep her old parts to "recycle" which in scam artist terms means one customer pay for and the service reuses it on another project, or cashes it in for monetary value for themselves. Those items belong to the owner if they want to keep them! There are so many reputable plumbing companies who have been in business many years in the area, and have the customer service skills and mechanical training and knowhow to treat everyone with kindness, consideration, and respect!! read more
