If it was possible to give 0 stars I would. A little back story: I usually go to The Nail Bar in Glendale, but my nail lady - the only person I trust with my acrylics was out of town for several weeks on vacation. I needed to get my nails done badly but I did not want to drive far, so I looked for places close by and 4 stars seemed decent. I made an appointment for a manicure, pedicure, and a full set. I really needed everything done. Tommy did my nails, and at first they looked good, even though it took a ridiculously long time. He used tools straight from the box - not from one of those sanitation bags that let you know they're clean.. I got worried but couldn't really do anything about it. I was uncomfortable enough as it was as the people in there just gave off a weird vibe. I really didn't like it. Well today I went back to my regular manicurist because she's back in town, and she noticed that the tips of my acrylics had been put on incorrectly, and there were air pockets left in two of my nails. Basically the outcome of sloppy, rushed work. Well...due to moisture getting into those air pockets, I got a nail fungus. FUNGUS. Luckily she caught it early enough to where she can remove my nail herself, but this place gave me fungus. Don't go here unless you want fungus on your nails. The place is not clean, and I honestly doubt they even clean their tools.. STAY AWAY read more

Once again Yelp came to my rescue! This place is 5 minutes away from job so I went on my lunch break after I made an appointment, however I didn't have enough time to get my full set of gel nails and I asked Shirley if I could come back the day after to finish them. Sure enough, even though she was booked for almost all day she made space for me and I showed up early in the morning. Shirley is so patient and funny. She actually cares about her customers and will go out of her way to make sure you leave happy. She did a wonderful job! I've gotten so many compliments. Decided to give this place a try because I was in desperate need of a mani; BIG mistake. The lady who did my pedicure did a fine job, just a basic color and minimal foot scrub/rub. They didn't have massage chairs, which really sucked. my gel mani was an entirely different story. The man who did my nails was rude and unwilling to do what I asked for. I asked for a square shape for my nails, to which he claimed my nails were too short (two of my finger nails were broken). ridiculous. Anyways, he filed down my nail bed to a point where they felt raw and hurt , after which he applied the gel (awfully) and made me put my hands in the UV machine. This experience was horrific, as my nail bed was so thin that the UV light burned my nails. Not going back there again. read more

Asked the guy that I wanted gel on my fingers ONLY and he started saying something to one of the ladies here and I heard them say something about "mexican" uhhhhh excuse me? So then I was picking a color and he screams to me "SIT DOWN!" and I said "im picking a color for my pedi" then he has the nerves to say "the color will be the same as ur nails" im sorry who's the customer here? My experience there was moderate i was too skeptic about doing them here since I had done my nails before and didn't like them I decided to give them another chance. My nails didn't come out all that bad one did have bubbles but Ive seen that he didn't fill in the whole nail. And when I had accidentally messed up a nail he complained in his language (as i assume like most places do) but I guess you get what you paid for. Decent for the price. I got a gel mani for only $20, but there really isn't much of a selection of colors. The salon is a bit outdated. I went in as a walk in and they greeted me right away and made me feel comfortable. A lady named Shirley did my acrylics and honestly she is the absolute best !! It is exactly the way I like , narrow short and beautiful , Maisy did my pedicure and she was wonderful as well. They did my nails fast and on short notice over my lunch break. Did a great job on my pedi. My gel French mani was decent. Probably would have been better if i hadn't been in a rush. The lady doing my nails was great the only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because she had some discoloration on her thumbnail that looked like it may have been infected. She said she had a skin thing and the doctor burned it out for her. Don't know what that meant but that's the hand that was touching my nails and it was slightly off putting.
