We called ahead and booked two manicures, and the owner confirmed we could come. When we arrived, both nail techs were busy. Once one finished, the owner started e-filing my nails and doing acetone gel removal, but left midway to take a walk-in client (who may have had an appointment) instead of continuing with me or starting my loved one's manicure. She never communicated that she couldn't handle both of us, despite us confirming in advance. My loved one ended up waiting about an hour, feeling overlooked the entire time. When the owner became available again, she chose to take another client for a pedicure rather than help my loved one, without any communication or effort to clarify. If she was unsure, she could have asked us, but no effort was made. The customer service was poor -- not transparent or attentive. Leslie, our nail tech, was great -- hardworking, patient, friendly, and thorough with cuticle care and hand massage. However, her gel polish application wasn't perfect: she didn't paint close enough to the cuticle, which made my manicure look 2-3 days old immediately. At $38 plus $10 for soak-off, the quality and service don't justify the above-average pricing. Only after Leslie finished with me did I ask her to finally do my loved one's manicure. I was in Burbank this past August celebrating my birthday when I realized I could really benefit from a pedicure. The last time I have had some professional TLC for my toes was back before the pandemic. I did a quick Yelp search based on location and Lotus was the salon closest to me. I called them to see if they had any openings. The woman on the phone said she could help me if I was able to get there within 10 minutes. I dropped everything and immediately started booking it over. I am so grateful that they were able to squeeze me in because I NEEDED it. Highly unimpressed and unlikely to come back. I went to this place as a last minute stop but a two hour appointment scheduled. I was running late by 5 mins and gave them a call. The reason I bring this up is because I'm not sure why the poor job. I requested for a gel mani and regular pedi. It took an hour and a half but yes they were busy. The result of the work wasn't wonderful and pretty embarrassing now that I have to go to vacation with friends who are filming a show. Now I have to hide my nails. The quality of the work done as shown in photos are sub-standard. The reg pedi faded within the eve and I wore flip flops in and out of this place. The mani work on my cuticles is terrible and so was the paint job. I didn't even get a mini arm or hand massage that all other places I've been to at the same price range commits to. Very saddened by my visit here. I came here as a last resort with other salons being packed tight o. A Saturday evening. I came last night (Saturday 11/2) to get a chrome pink nail set for a commercial filming I have today. The clients from the shoot were very specific about how they wanted my nails to be and even gave me a photo reference. I shared it with the nail techs and they assured me they could do a pink chrome nail set but was charging me $65. (Extremely overpriced for the quality and representation of this shop) After about 3 and a half hours of the nail tech trying his best to duplicate the chrome pink nail set shown on the picture the owner then tries and fails as well. They changed my polish 3 different times and the. Began practicing on other nails before trying mine again. Needless to say they were not able to get down the color and serve me. They then asked me to just pay for the full set for $33 Half off since they couldn't do color. My producers told me they wouldn't pay for something that isn't done and so the nail tech and owner took the set off, BREAKING ALL MY REAL NAILS AND LAYERS OF MY NAILS OFF. MY NAILS ARE DOWN TO THE MEAT AND HURT. AND I STILL HAVE TO RUSH TO FIND ANOTHER PLACE TO PUT ON MY NAILS DESPITE MY NAILS HURTING CURRENTLY FROM THE TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE LAST NIGHT. I am a regular here... I normally ask for Tina but she was busy today and I was really short on time. Today I was with the guy in the Coca Cola t shirt. Never got his name. In short he is sloppy and unfriendly. His unfriendliness wouldn't have been an issue if he could at least do a good job. He just wasn't paying attention to what he was doing. I don't think he even knew that he put 3 coats on one hand and two on the other. He also forgot the polish bonder at the beginning. Tried 4 nail salons in Burbank to be disappointed and This was number 5. Turns out 5 is my lucky number and This place deserves 5 stars for their professionalism and attention to detail. Kent is the ish at doing my acrylic with gel nails. He's great with time and I've hardly any complaints. Everyone here is nice and pretty much minds their own so you don't have to worry about having to discuss your life to people for an hour, unless you actually like that. They will be happy to converse with you but don't feel like you need to. They're focused on their work and making ladies feel pretty, not about where you're going to eat or how many kids you have, just saying. I'm a social butterfly but when it comes to jobs, I choose professionalism over socializing because work is work and they get the job done. I'm late on my review because I didn't want to review prematurely but I'm a regular here now so I can tell ya wassup. I'm valid. Biggest tip, make an appointment. They're busy. I used to go to this nail and spa in evergreen park but recently moved so I started going to their new Burbank location. The staff is always friendly and there's not usually a long wait. I only had to wait once and it was a Saturday morning which was invisibly expected. Today I got a pedicure and a new set. When I cashed out my bill was higher than usual but I didn't think twice about it because I did just get my old set taken off and she did an amazing job. After an hour of being home I received a call from them. They accidentally charged me more than they were supposed to and told me they could refund it or give me a credit. I just want to say 'THIS IS DEFINITELY MY NEW FAVORITE NAIL PLACE" I been doing my nails for years now and I even drive the extra mile to go to places friends/clients have referred me to, but I have never been this satisfied. I got the opportunity to have the owner Lisa work her magic on my beat up hands and after she was all done, WOW!!!!! was i impressed and extremely content with the final results. I went in requesting "bullet nails" as one of my friend calls them or "kittie nails" they are not square, round or oval but more on the sharp kittie side! the owner knew exactly what i had in mind....my last sets of nails were oval and no one seem to get them right no matter where i went they were either too thick, uneven or just not right...but LISA definitely did a clean detailed job on me and got it right on the first try. She was friendly and very welcoming, she had someone serve me hot tea, my favorite and there was soft music playing which really relaxed me. She kept me entertained the entire time, which was really nice since i tend to get antsy at most nail places and usually can't sit still...but she made sure to keep the nail process fun. I also got to watch my friend Bree get the most awesome PEDICURE. She even fell asleep on the massage chair while getting a leg scrub, hot wax and all this other neat stuff ...I wont go into details because ill go on forever but lets just say she was getting "the works" I was jealous! As a hair stylist myself I believe good customer service is very important and specially building a relationship with your client and I feel Lisa is great at it, we loved her so much we even got hugs as we left the shop. I will definitely return, it a was pleasant experience and it was definitely a different experience than my past nail experiences, it was soothing, I didn't feel like someone was talking about me in a different language, they were courteous and welcoming and I'll be returning as soon as my fill is due! I got fungus on almost all my nails and LISA herself told me she hasn't replaced her brush that she works with in over TWO years!!!! When she said your suppose to replace them every six months.. I love this nail salon. I moved to Burbank from NYC two years ago and hardly get my nails done because it's hard for me to find local businesses that I feel I vibe with. They're very nice and work quickly. The folks that seem to go here are friendly and always chatting with the staff. They do get busy though so if you walk in, they might be totally booked or they will give you a time when they can take you. The first time I went, they squeezed me in and the second asked me to come back in a half hour which was no problem. I'm also six months pregnant but I'm in that weird stage where I just look fat if I'm wearing baggy clothes. I kept saying this to all my friends and partner and they just replied, "No, you don't look fat at all" which was a lie. This particular day I strolled in wearing sweatpants and a t-shirt because I had been setting up for a baby shower in my backyard. The tech asked me if I was doing anything fun and I said, "Oh my friends are throwing me a baby shower." And she said, "What? I couldn't even tell you were pregnant, you just look fat." It was the funniest thing I heard all day and I felt so vindicated. I know it sounds weird to give a 5 star review for that but she def teased me when I was leaving, clearly picking up that I'm cool with jokes like that. What I like most is that they're honest and will tell you if they are busy and can't take you right away. Yes, I know that sounds weird but to me that is what keeps your long time customers coming back. I can't stand it when nail salons are more about quantity instead of quality. I had a lovely experience here. I wanted to get my nails done but wanted to stay local. I called in and asked if they took walk-ins and they said yes but they were closing early. I came within 15 minutes and I had to wait a while because they were busy (which is expected because walk-ins are a last resort). The salon was not too big, but it was well lit and ventilated. It's not a super duper fancy salon but it was nice. I didn't notice any strong smells or fumes. That was a good sign. They played some music but it wasn't too loud. I think it was a good atmosphere. Parking was really easy. I love gel manicures but I hate taking them off. Also, they add up and get pretty pricey. Earlier, I had removed my gel mani DIY style at home. I still had remnants of the gel polish and I was afraid they would charge me extra for it. However, my nail technician (whose name I forgot but he was the only male there) just buffed it out with a nail buffer and also an electric nail buffer thing that I normally would have associated with acrylic nails. But, it was extremely gentle and my real natural nails are in great shape. They use freshly sanitized tools in the plastic pouches, (which should be standard but you would be surprised) so I appreciated that. As he filed and painted my nails, he checked in on me and asked if the shape was okay or if the thickness of the french tip was to my desire. I liked how he was very involved in the process. As for my pedicure, you all know how some ladies just go clippers / file crazy and sometimes it results in a lot of pain!!! But the woman who did mine was very gentle and efficient. I was very happy with the massage she gave as well, it was relaxing but not intrusive. I think the prices are fair. $25 for mani/pedi + $5 for french tips + tip = way cheaper than my usual nail salon. My only suggestion is for the nail polish color selection to be larger and more organized. Some of the OPI polishes were super thick and gloopy. Also, the thin gold glitter polish was dried out and I had to use the silver. First world problems. This doesn't affect me very much because I like to bring my own polishes anyway, but I just wanted to let you know!
