When I got to the salon, I asked that my nails be removed and she just started ripping away at them. As she was clipping them the acrylics were flying across the room and even hit someone in the foot. She then started ripping away at my nail bed. this was the first set of acrylics I had had in almost a year, and my nails were so healthy until this lady took them off. I then told her please soak them and she finally did but she never even asked to begin with. I think this technician was in a rush because I saw everyone else getting theirs taken off the right way. Time to do an update on this elegant, classy, lively, lovely, beautiful Oasis Nail Spa/salon. I am going to TRY not to make this a long review since everything has been said in my previous review back in June 7th of last year. You can read my previous review and get some ideas and pointers. One of the reasons I wanted to update my review is to change my rating from 4 stars to 5 and post few photos which I wasn't able to do on my last visit. Not much has changed, but I took a moment to recognize their fine art work that is so classy, and beautiful. I was there on the 20th of this month to do my mani/pedi which was way overdue. I walked in around 5pm and was nicely greeted by Stephanie and Amy. They both had beautiful smiles on their faces:-)) Stephanie worked on my cute, little toes, and Amy worked on my cute, little fingers. Picked out 2 polishes, a light cappuccino for my hands and dark/wicked color for my toes. I usually do light colors on my hands, and dark on my feet. Both ladies did a fantastic job with kindness, and payed close attention to detail. Stephanie removed my ingrown nails from my toes and made it look like I got 2 brand new toes. Perfect Job! Thank you ladies. Salon is very welcoming, bright, clean, TV inside the salon with serene aquatic visions of nature.Suiting and beautiful, relaxing music that compliments the view and keeps you calm. All the ladies make you feel loved, they don't rush you, and you truly feel at home. They have more services besides mani/pedi, waxing, that other nail salons don't have or offer. Ivy, who is the owner of this gem is a great woman with integrity,style, and most importantly a great BUSINESS WOMAN!! I have been going to Oasis for over three years. They are tucked in beside a Starbucks and a Bobs Big Boy in the Toluca Lake part of Burbank. Close to studios and great shops; they accept walk-ins. I appreciate how they stand behind their work. My toes chipped a week after a pedi and they repaired it free of charge. Their pedicures are just the best! I have tried other nail salons around LA and I keep coming back to them because of their vibe and excellent work. Very pleasant! My favorite is Nancy and she gives the very best foot rubs. I liked them because 1) they accept anything, from Apple Pay to Zelle, card, cash 2) their prices are reasonable 3) they don't insist on selling you extra services the whole time you're sitting in your chair unlike a lot of other nail salons 4) Amy who did my pedicure did an excellent job! My sister and I were looking for a last minute pedicure on a Sunday and we could not find a place that would accommodate us as walk-ins and we were also on a time crunch. I called Oasis and at first they scheduled us for a time, I asked if they could see us in the next 10 mins and they were so nice and said yes. When we got there they were all very polite,friendly and the vibes were very peaceful. They have definitely gained new customers and I'm already thinking of bringing my mom with me next time. I have been to mostly every nail shop in Toluca Lake and North Hollywood. Each time, I requested a dip manicure and each time I went, I noticed my nails getting weaker and more painful. The nail beds were red and tender to the touch. I happened upon Oasis and was met by Wendy for an appointment. She took one look at my nails and declined to replace the dip material on my nails. She pointed out to me all the things that were wrong with my nails, and how damaged the nails and cuticles were. She suggested a regular manicure weekly for a month. It now has been at least 2 years and she is the only one that touches my nails. They are strong, healthy and she always does a fantastic job. When I read negative reviews, I always wonder what clients nails looked like when they went into the salon, or what they had done to their cuticles to make them look so bad. The nails and nail bed need to be taken care of as well as the nails and hands in general. I would 100% recommend Wendy and any of the other technicians in the salon. Ivy runs a professional, clean and friendly salon. If you are lucky, you may see a celebrity or two! read more

I can't comment on quality of nail service quite yet (though I plan to go back). But I walked in on a Tuesday evening. They weren't busy. And I just needed a soak off service of my 3 week old acrylics. Trisha took me right away. She was super nice and really patient with me. They took FOREVER to soak off. I assume it was just well done acrylic. She made sure she got everything off and was really gentle. She also filed my nails after and put cuticle oil on. All for $10. Lena is my go-to for nails and always leaves them looking professional, beautiful and glamorous. She has worked with me for years now and she, Ivy, and all the other ladies here are gentle, patient and knowledgable. Everyone takes a lot of care and attention to detail in their work. The front desk lady was very sweet, the lady on the phone when I booked the appointment was very sweet. The lady who gave me a pedicure was very sweet too... All was great till I got a Manicure. First, she cut my thumb and didn't even acknowledge much less apologize. Second is everything is an upgrade...but even if you don't get an upgrade...just a basic man and pedi (not gel) is $45 dollars! WTH! I have severe brutalized Cuticles on both of my hands and they look terrible. Not everything there was terrible but it's too much money and they didn't do a job that was worth the money they charge. So disappointed in how my nails came out! This isn't my first time here and the work is typically good, but this time it was awful. I came in for an acrylic fill-in and said that I would like the nails to be cut down into an oval/round shape. After filling in the nails, I noticed that my nails were all different shapes and also sizes!! My ring and pinky finger nails are HUGE compared to my other nails. I was so upset that I asked to take the nail file from her and do it myself. I had also asked if she could drill down my natural nail as it was starting to show underneath and ended up with extremely thick nails. After telling her that I was so unhappy with the results, she didn't say anything and just asked for payment. I still tipped, less than usual, but still work was done and fair is fair. Overall, the nail polish is already starting to chip (less than a week) and the cuticles look beyond awful. This was just my experience here and I wanted to share with potential customers. read more

Stopped in for a dip mani (+ removal of old dip polish) and a pedi. Left with some pretty brutalized cuticles on my left hand. For starters, everything is an upgrade -- which is fine, but it's a little off putting when you're sitting there and they tell you how terrible your skin or feet are and you desperately need something. (I had my last mani / pedi treatment 2 weeks ago; I'm good). One gal worked on my right hand and another on my left. My right doesn't have any issues with the cuticle as she used the dremel type sander tool. The left? She used a super coarse sanding block which simply destroyed my hand. On both hands the paint job is okay; not ideal and not what I'm used to with my manicures from the salon I usually go to. Icing on the cake? The place def needs a deep clean-- it's pretty grimy and could at least use a new coat of paint. On the bright side, I got to spend some nice time with my friend getting our mani's done but my cuticles now hate me for it. read more

Well this was a total bust! I have an appointment with my regular nail salon for tomorrow which now I'm not going to cancel because I have to get this disaster of a manicure and pedicure fixed. I gave this spot a try because I desperately wanted my nails done before church tomorrow and thought I'd go somewhere other than my nail salon since they were completely booked today. This is the sister spot to where I normally go. My polish job on my toes is nice but the attention to detail to my pedicure was missed. Cuticles were not clipped just pushed back. She had originally only clipped my big toe nail and I had to ask her to clip the others which was odd. She lightly scrubbed my feet but since I declined the paraffin treatment on my feet she didn't do a good job scrubbing them. She also ignored the fact that my toenails are ingrown. I saw her look but she didn't even care to try to do anything about it My gel manicure is a mess. It's lumpy, my nails are all different shapes and jagged, and it just looks like a kid polished them. After she had applied the gel, she kept filing them for some reason on the sides to get off all the polish around my nail which just made a huge mess. It really is a disaster of a manicure. Almost $100 later including tip I'm realizing I should have just went to church with my old manicure and waiting till my appointment after at my original place because I legit waisted my money. I gave an extra star for the fact that my neck massage was great. But my nails, that's a sad sad tragedy read more

So the first review I left was six years ago, time for an update since a few things have changed. I don't frequent Oasis like I used to because I don't work in Burbank anymore. I DO live in the valley, but still can't frequent it since the prices went up and my favorite technician, Rosie retired. I've seen a few ladies who have done well inc Stephanie, Ivy and Lisa. I have terrible toes, so my go-to if I have time to do an appointment is Vivian. The best! Great massages too and I've often added on a shoulder massage. I see in the other reviews that the ladies aren't chatty and they're not. They just chat to each other haha. But that's fine since I'm a bit shy and tend to daydream while I'm relaxing in the chair. If there is one technician I cannot recommend however, it's Sara. I got a sky blue mani and she complained to me how ugly the color is and how "dry" my hands were that day. Just a lot of griping even if I was just sitting there! No no no, criticism is not her job, so I complained to the owner who apologized. Another friendly face is Hung, one of the receptionists and the owner's son? He's been there for the 7+ years I've been going and a great acquaintance. The first women who did my pedi was rude and did my left toe messy she also noticed it was messy but figured I did and tried to play it off. Her work was messy and her filing was terrible. This is my second time coming here. I'm a loyal customer to the Oasis on magnolia but they were all booked up and I needed my nails done last minute for a job I booked for the following day. Everyone was really nice and personable here and made me feel very welcome but I had long strong nails and now they are brittle and cracking. And this happened the last time I was here as well which is why I didn't come back. They made a comment that the gel that was on my nails (from the other oasis) was too thick and kept filing away on them and were filing down my actual nail. I was cut with a file too and was bleeding. She tried to disinfect it and apologized. Then a few days later I had 2 nails that were extremely painful from an infection on the corner and when I squeezed pus came out. It's only been a week and a half and the gel on all my nails are lifting and peeling off and all my nails are breaking. I wanted to truly love this nail salon as it's super conveniently located. This was my first and last time! The day that I went in to have my gel nail fill they were understaffed. Worst experience. My nail technician Ivy, left nearly every 5 minutes. Constant interruption. She had to cover the phones, load the washer, handle the billing & attend to all the incoming customers. After nearly 2 1/2 hours she completed my nail fill with gel polish. Although the understaffing wasn't her fault & I had compassion for her having to juggle everything .... the actual photos of my nails speak for themselves. Streaky polish, sloppy job, bumpy nail surface, black filing bits embedded in the polish & not filled close to the cuticle. She kept accepting more walk-ins & they were all irritatedly waiting for a very long time. $65 later not including the tip I left! Never again! I needed to just get out of there after spending record time there. When I got home I really looked at my nails & was shocked. I'm sure there are some wonderful nail technicians in this salon, however my experience was not with one of them. One and done! read more
