Everyone here is always very kind and welcoming, which I truly appreciate. However, I did want to share my recent experience, as it left me a bit disappointed. I came in for a removal and a regular manicure ($32) since I can't keep gel on due to work. I had only gotten Gel X here once, after having strong, natural nails for almost a year. During the removal, I was told my nails were very thin and that the streaks I noticed were not leftover gel, but due to the condition of my nails. This was surprising to hear, especially since my nails were healthy prior to that visit. I also paid for a regular manicure, but my cuticles weren't addressed until I pointed it out my concerns. At that point, I didn't feel comfortable bringing up concerns about the nail shape as well. I kind of feel ripped off, which isn't a nice feeling. I'm not someone who likes to be confrontational, and I usually leave satisfied even if they aren't perfect, but this visit unfortunately left a bad impression. I hope this feedback is helpful, as I do think the team is kind--I just wish they treated me the same when I came in for a removal as when I come in for a mani/pedi gel set. read more

DANGEROUS, INCOMPETENT, AND SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN This place is a complete joke. My mom went in for a simple pedicure and left BLEEDING, injured, and in serious pain. The technician literally cut into her toe like she had no idea what she was doing. This wasn't a small nick--her foot was ripped up, and FOUR DAYS LATER it still hurts her. That's not a "beauty service," that's negligence. On top of that, her nails looked terrible. Crooked, sloppy, and rushed--like they didn't care at all once they got her money. No apology, no concern, just acting like slicing someone's skin open is normal. A nail salon is supposed to be clean, professional, and safe. This place is the opposite: careless, unskilled, and unsafe. If you care about your feet, your health, or basic hygiene, DO NOT COME HERE. There was about 20 minutes before closing, but they still rushed me and made me feel guilty for coming in at the last minute to get my eyebrows done. Regardless, I appreciated the accommodation. This review is solely based on my eyebrows. The lady chopped them off. See for yourself. She shortened it on both sides. Waxing the middle of my forehead and taking too much off the beginning of my brow and the end of the brow as well. I've never had such a botched experience in my life. I specifically asked for "just to clean up" and to maintain as much as my eyebrow as possible. I don't have thin eyebrows. And I've never had this experience. Would highly recommend avoiding this place if you want to get your eyebrows done and also they are cash only. They don't accept credit cards, Apple Pay or any electronic pay. I've been a customer here for over two decades, these people are more like friends/family to me than nail technicians. They've watched me grow up since I've been coming here since my family moved to the area many moons ago. I can't recall a time in my life where I didn't step through their doors every 2-3 weeks if not sooner, so when they had to close their doors in March a very big part of my routine and life changed. I'm so grateful they are open now. All the new safety precautions are in place and I feel completely comfortable coming here. They are welcoming back customers in masks of course, taking temperatures, forms to be filled out, plexi glass dividers, new routines etc. But it's all worth it to be able to have my normal gel mani and pedi. I have complete trust and faith in the owners of Lovely Nails to keep their customers safe. I hope you too, will have the same respect for them and their families. I love coming here not only because they always do a great job but because I care about them as well. Hearing today about how their own family members feel about them returning to work really made me realize that as much as I missed my normal mani/pedis I also have a great concern for their safety and well being. If for some reason you aren't well or think there's any chance you've been exposed, have the courtesy to not come in. Please. If you're healthy give them some business, tip well! They've been closed for months and are here to welcome the public in (by appointment only, unless you happen to walk in and they have availability- but please call first and check, just seems healthier that way). They have a ton of gel options and they typically last three weeks. Their prices are reasonable and affordable. I haven't lived in the area for a very long time and there are a ton of options everywhere but I drive here because I am always happy with the job they do. So, ladies and gents! I wanted to update everyone. So I called and spoke to the manager and she told me to come back and they will redo. When I got there the person that did my nails the day before, met me at the door and said he will redo. The manager came over to look at my nails before he started and the look she gave them was of pure disappointment. The manager sat right across from them and watched. Ugh it breaks my heart to leave this review because I was so loyal to a lady here named tweety but damn have I been played and done dirty. I paid 60 for a manicure and pedicure with regular polish. Within two hours of coming home from the salon I started cooking and I noticed my nails were chipping. I'm pretty sure by the end of today all my nails will be mostly peeled and chipped. I decided to try a salon closer to home. I've gone to my favorite nail girl in Glendale / Pasadena for 10 years. You never know how good you have it til you try someplace else. The location is on a busy corner, and the parking lot is small, with most spots for 20 minutes only. Place was busy with lots of customers. Gel polish doesn't match regular polish. I like to do gel on my fingernails but not my toenails. People are nice, but rush you to pick your color a little bit Regulars love their nail techs and are happy and friendly. Both my mani and pedi done by two different people weren't slick and clean. They didn't remove any polish near my cuticles and did a sloppy polish job. I didn't see them open new tools. Let's just get into the customer service. I believe it is so important to have a good experience with the people doing your nails, the vibes in the salon, and the respect given towards the person who's paying you for your service . I got my nails done by some guy working in the salon. first thing I'm gonna say is everyone there is rushing for their next clients and it pretty much just seems like they're only here for the money. I wish I went to my regular place because it's the same price but so much better. I got a full set of acrylics, and none of them are the same length or shape. He also did them way too short and didn't do nothing like the photo. He hurt my nails so much and I don't mean the acrylic chemicals I mean literally him when he was filing my nails, and when he was cutting my cuticles, I literally almost was bleeding. . My mom got a manicure pedicure and she didn't seem to hate it but she said it wasn't a very good experience for her either so she tipped the girl who did her nails but I did not tip the guy who did my nails because it was such a bad experience, and my nails are also very ugly . I am so happy my regular nail place was closed today and I came to lovely nails. It's my first time here and I was seen right away. Linda the nail and waxing expert did my toes and leg waxing. She was patient with me. I am very picky and she took the time to show me different colors and she was also very gentle with the waxing. I was hesitant but to wax my legs but glad I did it. I always come to Michael. Have been for some time. Whenever he's free he'll take me in and he's great at staying open later to finish my nails. Post Covid his prices always change. Sometimes he'll fix a broke nail for free sometimes he charges $5 to remove the work he did 2 weeks before. (I think it's him adding his tip, he blamed it on Covid and how their prices are increasing) Today I called and scheduled with someone, Linda, she's Michael's sister, I waited around 20 minutes from my scheduled appointment. She's no where as good as Michael. She couldn't do the color I picked from the "dipped powder" and said it was gel. Then she tried to persuade me to get acrylic. I said no. My nails are on the shorter side. she asked me what shape I wanted (square and round corners) and went completely against what I asked for and blamed it on my short nails. Really upset from my experience! We stopped by without an appointment today at around 6 PM. They were pretty busy and we were willing to wait but they started taking people who came in after us before us. After around 20 minutes, we were seated, however, the lady who helped me was really aggressive and made 5 of my cuticles bleed. Even though she noticed that I was still bleeding, she continued to put on nail polish. My nails were cut uneven, and she spent very little time on me before moving onto someone else. As a result, she didn't layer as much nail polish on so I have a very very thin coat. Overall, horrible experience and will not be back. read more

I found this place on Yelp and dropped in on a Sunday and was so happy they could take me right away. The people were pleasant. I asked to use the washroom and they pointed but there was a sign on the door that said "out of order" although they assured me it was not. Maybe to stop certain people from using it? The place was older but clean enough. Not a luxury spa but had a few pedicure chairs. They used a liner in the tub, which I appreciate. I sat in the pedicure chair and the woman started working on my feet. She took off the polish and started clipping. About 5 minutes in she asked if I had ever been there before and I said I had not. She told me they only took cash for all services and I said I did not carry cash. She said I could use the ATM at the liquor store next door but I don't do that...the fee is too high to use non-bank ATMs. I apologized and left, grateful that she did not charge me for anything as I had no cash. Honestly...I don't trust businesses that only take cash. It makes me think they are not paying their taxes. I know times are tough, but if people are bypassing taxes it hurts the whole city and state. That's just my 2 cents! read more

I walked in to get a regular (not gel) manicure while my car was getting washed across the street. They took me in right away (10:30ish). The manicure went well until the polish application. I picked a yellow polish that was thin and I know yellows are kinda hard to build up. But they look gross. It was only $13 for the manicure. Also while I was there 2 unsatisfied customers came in and I'm not sure if the woman that addressed them both is the manager but dont expect great customer service or respect from her. The 1st customer came in that she had just gotten I believe gel mani/pedi and there were bubbles in the polish. Micheal was the one that did her nails, but the "manager" lady told the customer that she didnt do the polish right and it's her fault for the result. Micheal stepped in and was able to address the customers concerns and she left happy. Another girl came in that it had been less than 2 weeks since she got a full acrylic gel set and she had 2 broken nails and the polish had chipped. She said she couldnt come in sooner because of work and that the nail that she had gotten repaired 2 days ago had broken. After some back and forth (they couldn't fix her nails 2 weeks after) with the "manager" lady she told the girl that it would be $30 to repair the broken nails. I thought the girl was crazy to give them more money, she even said her full set was $40 and now she was expected to pay another 30$ for 2 broken nails and chipped polish.
