I've heard such nice things about Le Coin over the years. Now through personal experience, I found that the food was good but not mind blowing.... also the portions are half of what they were a couple years ago. There are not many updated photos on yelp, so when I was deciding to eat here I was judging it from photos taken years ago. Well I took some updated photos so people know what they are getting. What threw me was the chicken and waffles I ordered. From old photos you get a whole waffle.... now it's half. Service was not the most friendly. Workers seemed like they hated their job. Also slow considering only a couple tables were occupied.

We've always wanted to try Le Coin, and happened to be in the area yesterday and were able to walk in at about 8:15pm with no reservation. I loved our little table, and the entire restaurant had such a European vibe. We asked our server a lot of questions about food and drinks, and he steered us in the right direction. We had the tomato peach salad, the octopus, the New York steak, and the beef tenderloin. The steak was divine! I loved how it was accompanied by a bordelaise sauce and herb butter. The fries had crispy sage on top which was SO GOOD. Everything was seasoned well and was balanced. Both my partner and I were very satisfied with our choices. To pair with our delicious bites, I had two fabulous glasses of French red wine, and my partner loved his cocktails. We didn't know about their extensive chartreuse list, so that was a cool surprise! We're already talking about planning a trip back.

Wonderful food and service! Highly recommend the prix fix brunch menu. Perfect serving size with a starter, main and dessert. Relaxed neighborhood vibe that is kid and family friendly. *Note - Le Coin requires a $5 per person deposit when you make a reservation. Remind your server to deduct that amount off your bill.

Pros: nice ambience, European vibes, located in a cute neighborhood with parking in the neighborhood streets Cons: food is salty, portion is small, nothing tastes good to me. I tried the grilled lamb shoulder, petite legumes, local mussels during HH, honestly the only decent dish is the petite legumes.

Happy hour! It's a nice place and staff friendly. We ordered HH menu, wine and beer. Average noise. Food was tasty but TBH, the HH prices seemed a bit high for portions. That said, it is a nice place to visit and we have enjoyed our dining experience.

Solid place with great portions and no forgetting the sauce. There was a deal deal of flavor.

My go-to date night spot. Get the oysters and mussels. Service is fast and friendly, and if they have it, get the adult slushies. They have a particular good happy hour as well. The steaks are also fantastic. I wish for their bread service (which is pretty expensive for what you get) I wish they would at least... warm or heat up the bread a bit.

Had dinner at Le Coin and I must say this is a great French Bistro type setting in the Fremont District of Seattle. At a quick glance the menu screams local seafood focus. For example they had king salmon and local oysters as options. Just a smart way to support local businesses and offer very fresh options. Also they specialized in Chartreuse liquors. I'm not super familiar but their Strawberry Old Fashioned was a great sweeter take on a classic. The table had a variety of appetizers to start: Bread with cheese upgrade, Oysyters, Octopus and Salmon Tatare. All were delicious. The oysters were definitely fresh and had a few mignonette sauces. My favorite was the octopus. it was grilled and accompanied with a warm vegetable and beans. Nice on a cold night. My main course was the NY Strip with Demi glaze. The glaze went with my Cote Du Rhône wine selection. The steak itself was perfectly cooked and tender, but the glaze was a little sweet. The accompanying mushrooms were yummy as well. The service was friendly and kept a good pace. Multiple folks checked on us and cleared things appropriately. Overall a great place I would make a regular if I lived in Seattle. PS The profiteroles were bomb. Definitely recommend.

I'm waffling between a 3 and 4 star for my recent visit. The restaurant has not changed in the last few years. Same layout with lots of space. They do take reservations but require a deposit per head. Its not a bad thing to have though as they got busy on a Saturday night. I was there with a party of 6 and a couple of our party where late. I think that may have been the issue. The food was amazing as always. Drinks where well made. The main issue was the server. They where extremely short and brusque. They gave the impression that we where an inconvenience to them and taking to long. That was not the level of service I was used to at Le Coin.

I visited Le Coin for brunch on a Saturday with a friend. Staff was nice and friendly. We shared the omelette, waffles, and granola for the table. The dish presentation was wonderful. The food was pretty good but I thought the granola wasn't really worth it since I could recreate it at home easily. Same goes for the omelette, but there are times like this when you don't feel like making them yourself so you get it somewhere else.

Le Coin is a French restaurant that is accommodating to all types of price ranges - from nice deals at happy hour to tasting menu formats. I heard good things about the food here and wasn't in the mood for a spendy meal, so my friend and I went here during happy hour which happens 4-6pm. We made a reservation just in case and showed up early but they still accommodated us since it's not busy. We got the Le Coin frites, half dozen oysters, pork rillettes, and grilled lamb shoulder to share. The frites (fries) is very flavorful with rosemary, so just fries without anything is already a good dish. The bone marrow aioli topped up the flavor though it is a bit muted compared to the flavorful fries. The oysters were pretty good - they're the large ones which I'm not a big fan of but it was fresh and not too strong of a flavor so it was fine. Besides the mignonette, they had another sauce that's like soy sauce based which I liked more. Pork rillettes is more like acquired taste since while they prepared it well, I didn't particularly enjoy it. The dish is fairly balanced with sourdough bread, pickled vegetables, and salad. Grilled lamb shoulder is delicious. It's quite small in comparison to the other dishes, but I would happily order this again. It's served medium rare which is my preferred done-ness for red meats. Service is very good. We got checked up on a few times without feeling too overbearing and the water refills were constant. I had a positive experience overall, and I would happily come back for a more spendy format or even try the rest of the happy hour dishes again!

This place is great! Good service, perfect ambiance of upscale casual, and of course great food! Most recently this has become my favorite spot for a fancy burger and fries, but their desserts and other items are great too.

Our favorite place! This is by far the best, in terms of consistency across the board: food, service, warmth, and food presentation/plating.

Ask the Community - Le Coin

Is wine corkage allowed in Seattle?

Yes. Per their website: "Wine Corkage Fee is $35 per 750ml Bottle of Wine. We kindly ask that only 2 bottles are brought per table that is not a current selection on our wine list."…

Does this place allow walk-in? I heard through their voicemail that they accept reservations via Tock, but nothing as to their walk-in policy.

Hello, Le Coin accepts walk-ins when available. We take reservations through Tock. If there is not…

Is it okay for kids?

Kids are always welcome at Le Coin. Le Coin does have a kids menu it's just not printed.. You just need to inquire with your server. Brunch or Dinner!

Are you still having the tasting menu?

Thank you for reaching out. Currently Le Coin is not offering the three course tasting menu. We plan to do something in the near future. We will announce it via our email list when it happens. Cheers!

We even got lucky to find a spot right near the restaurant. We made reservations in advance which is highly recommended for Friday and Saturday dinner, especially if you want to eat around 6-7pm. We got the following - Amuse bouche was a gazpacho. Builds up the appetite. Very refreshing. Included in the dining experience - Beef tartare - pretty fresh, a little heavier on the pickle. I liked the variety of toast they offered and they topped up the toast when we ran out - French onion soup - a bougie variation as they use veal bone broth. The smell can be a little off putting due to the pungency of the cheeses but when you take bites off the bread and soup, it's soooooo delicious. Super rich dish - Cassoulet - the duck is good. The sausage was very strongly spiced with a texture that is atypical of meat sausage but still good pairing it with the beans. I normally don't prefer beans but it soaked up the duck fat and seasoning really well. This dish was also extremely rich so just 1 entree and 2 appetizers were enough for 2 people - Ice cream - the rotating flavor was crème fraiche which felt like vanilla but extra creamy. Still doesn't beat the Movenpick ice cream from Switzerland but this is close - The wines we got (1 pet nat, 2 reds, 1 apple dessert wine) were excellent and pairs well with the respective food A few positives about this place: - They can pour wine by the half glass at exactly half the price of a glass so you get to try a bunch of wines without breaking the wallet or overcommitting - Some items are genuinely well priced - a double shot of espresso for $3 stood out - Gift cards worked with Resy credit. I stacked 4 gift cards totaling $140 on top of this month's Delta Amex Plat/Reserve $10/$20 Resy credits alongside my Amex Gold for the remainder to run multiple cards in one tab. They were patient and willing to work with me on this to use my credit card benefits fully The con about this place: - 20% mandatory gratuity. But this is one of the very few places that actually delivered service to this standard so I can't really complain - Birthday dinner but all they did was put a cheap candle in the dessert. Expected via reviews, but just a heads up

A little hard to find, we knew we were close but had to call the restaurant to find the kind of hidden entrance... This was the perfect place to unwind and enjoy the views of Elliot Bay, the Seattle Wheel, Washington Ferries, and a blazing red sunset. First off, our waitress Katie was fantastic! She helped with suggestions and gave us the deets on the specials.. We opted for starters of (French) Onion Soup, Saffron Clam Chowder, and shared Green Goddess salad. The Saffron Clam Chowder was a very pleasant surprise with a saffron spiced broth and lots of clams, potatoes and carrots. NOT a New England style chowder... a very pleasant suprise indeed! The Green Goddess salad was perfect with fresh bib lettuce leaves and some small grape tomates. Entrees were the crab cakes and a salmon filet with a fresh house made pineapple salsa... both were so good. Lastly, dessert was Chocolate Pot du Creme and an Affogato. Again delicious and a perfect way to end the evening. We wasted no time in recommending Place Pigalle to friends and family!

I loved that it wasn't overly sweet, which allowed the bright passion fruit flavor to really stand out. My boyfriend loved the hazelnut chocolate croissant--it was completely up his alley, and he was also impressed by how well laminated and layered it was. The croissant looked stunning-it tasted as good as it looked. Service was amazing. The person who grabbed our pastries and bread was super kind and nice. You can tell that a lot of thought, research, and care went into creating croissants that are as close as possible to what you might find in France. The almond croissant was also incredible. Since it was double-baked, it had an amazing crunch with every bite, and the ratio of almond filling to croissant was perfect. I would highly recommend any of their croissants and already can't wait to come back for more! The sourdough loaf, however, was fairly mediocre and nothing to write home about. It is clean inside, and there are plenty of options. The pastries are definitely not French priced and instead of Seattle prices, as you would expect. Instead of a croissant being $1-2 depending on variation, expect to spend a minimum of $5 and go up from there. But again, that is standard Seattle pricing. This place was recommended to us by one of our visiting French friends. We finally got to try it, and maybe our experience was simply because we were not there in the morning and were there on a weekend afternoon. We got two flavored pastries and a plain croissant. The best test is always the standard croissant.... and this one, maybe due to timing or something, was incredibly dry, stiff, and just not what we were hoping for. This was odd, because they had a huge stack of them, so it looked like they were serving the latest and freshest batch. The pain au chocolat/chocolatine was tasty and delicious, but also a little on the drier side. The fruit cream filled one was delicious, but is hardly a good metric for good lamination/layers and freshness. My wife and I said we will still go back, maybe in the morning as things just are fresh out of the oven. Fingers crossed that we get a fresh batch next time. C'est dommage
