I've heard such nice things about Le Coin over the years. Now through personal experience, I found that the food was good but not mind blowing.... also the portions are half of what they were a couple years ago. There are not many updated photos on yelp, so when I was deciding to eat here I was judging it from photos taken years ago. Well I took some updated photos so people know what they are getting. What threw me was the chicken and waffles I ordered. From old photos you get a whole waffle.... now it's half. Service was not the most friendly. Workers seemed like they hated their job. Also slow considering only a couple tables were occupied.

Wonderful food and service! Highly recommend the prix fix brunch menu. Perfect serving size with a starter, main and dessert. Relaxed neighborhood vibe that is kid and family friendly. *Note - Le Coin requires a $5 per person deposit when you make a reservation. Remind your server to deduct that amount off your bill.

We've always wanted to try Le Coin, and happened to be in the area yesterday and were able to walk in at about 8:15pm with no reservation. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I loved our little table, and the entire restaurant had such a European vibe.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We asked our server a lot of questions about food and drinks, and he steered us in the right direction. We had the tomato peach salad, the octopus, the New York steak, and the beef tenderloin. The steak was divine! I loved how it was accompanied by a bordelaise sauce and herb butter. The fries had crispy sage on top which was SO GOOD. Everything was seasoned well and was balanced. Both my partner and I were very satisfied with our choices. To pair with our delicious bites, I had two fabulous glasses of French red wine, and my partner loved his cocktails. We didn't know about their extensive chartreuse list, so that was a cool surprise! We're already talking about planning a trip back.

Pros: [[HIGHLIGHT]]nice ambience, European vibes, located in a cute neighborhood with parking in the neighborhood streets[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Cons: food is salty, portion is small, nothing tastes good to me. I tried the grilled lamb shoulder, petite legumes, local mussels during HH, honestly the only decent dish is the petite legumes.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Happy hour! It's a nice place and staff friendly[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. We ordered HH menu, wine and beer. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Average noise.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Food was tasty but TBH, the HH prices seemed a bit high for portions. [[HIGHLIGHT]]That said, it is a nice place to visit and we have enjoyed our dining experience.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

I visited Le Coin for brunch on a Saturday with a friend. Staff was nice and friendly. We shared the omelette, waffles, and granola for the table. The dish presentation was wonderful. The food was pretty good but I thought the granola wasn't really worth it since I could recreate it at home easily. Same goes for the omelette, but there are times like this when you don't feel like making them yourself so you get it somewhere else.

My go-to date night spot. Get the oysters and mussels. Service is fast and friendly, and if they have it, get the adult slushies. They have a particular good happy hour as well. The steaks are also fantastic. I wish for their bread service (which is pretty expensive for what you get) I wish they would at least... warm or heat up the bread a bit.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Had dinner at Le Coin and I must say this is a great French Bistro type setting in the Fremont District of Seattle.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] At a quick glance the menu screams local seafood focus. For example they had king salmon and local oysters as options. Just a smart way to support local businesses and offer very fresh options. Also they specialized in Chartreuse liquors. I'm not super familiar but their Strawberry Old Fashioned was a great sweeter take on a classic. The table had a variety of appetizers to start: Bread with cheese upgrade, Oysyters, Octopus and Salmon Tatare. All were delicious. The oysters were definitely fresh and had a few mignonette sauces. My favorite was the octopus. it was grilled and accompanied with a warm vegetable and beans. Nice on a cold night. My main course was the NY Strip with Demi glaze. The glaze went with my Cote Du Rhône wine selection. The steak itself was perfectly cooked and tender, but the glaze was a little sweet. The accompanying mushrooms were yummy as well. The service was friendly and kept a good pace. Multiple folks checked on us and cleared things appropriately. Overall a great place I would make a regular if I lived in Seattle. PS The profiteroles were bomb. Definitely recommend.

I'm waffling between a 3 and 4 star for my recent visit. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant has not changed in the last few years. Same layout with lots of space.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They do take reservations but require a deposit per head. Its not a bad thing to have though as they got busy on a Saturday night. I was there with a party of 6 and a couple of our party where late. I think that may have been the issue. The food was amazing as always. Drinks where well made. The main issue was the server. They where extremely short and brusque. They gave the impression that we where an inconvenience to them and taking to long. That was not the level of service I was used to at Le Coin.

This place is great! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Good service, perfect ambiance of upscale casual, and of course great food![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Most recently this has become my favorite spot for a fancy burger and fries, but their desserts and other items are great too.

Le Coin is a French restaurant that is accommodating to all types of price ranges - from nice deals at happy hour to tasting menu formats. I heard good things about the food here and wasn't in the mood for a spendy meal, so my friend and I went here during happy hour which happens 4-6pm. We made a reservation just in case and showed up early but they still accommodated us since it's not busy. We got the Le Coin frites, half dozen oysters, pork rillettes, and grilled lamb shoulder to share. The frites (fries) is very flavorful with rosemary, so just fries without anything is already a good dish. The bone marrow aioli topped up the flavor though it is a bit muted compared to the flavorful fries. The oysters were pretty good - they're the large ones which I'm not a big fan of but it was fresh and not too strong of a flavor so it was fine. Besides the mignonette, they had another sauce that's like soy sauce based which I liked more. Pork rillettes is more like acquired taste since while they prepared it well, I didn't particularly enjoy it. The dish is fairly balanced with sourdough bread, pickled vegetables, and salad. Grilled lamb shoulder is delicious. It's quite small in comparison to the other dishes, but I would happily order this again. It's served medium rare which is my preferred done-ness for red meats. Service is very good. We got checked up on a few times without feeling too overbearing and the water refills were constant. I had a positive experience overall, and I would happily come back for a more spendy format or even try the rest of the happy hour dishes again!

Had a wonderful HH and dinner at Le Coin tonight. The food was so good we kept ordering and ordering. Got 3 rounds of oysters, 2 rounds of Brussels sprouts, 2 rounds of mussels, lamb shoulder, pork pete plate, tomahawk steak, sable head fish, truffle pasta and frites! I'd say the oysters were so fresh and the garlic vinaigrette that came with it helped balance the earthiness of the shellfish. My son loved the mussels, he almost didn't want to share. I loved the Brussels sprouts. It was browned and have a lovely red wine glace on them. It was sooooo good! The entire dinner was very nice. This place get filled up very quickly. I think a reservation is a must.

We went to Le Coin for my boyfriends birthday and oh my gosh the food here was exceptional! I've never had food quite like this before, the tomahawk steak in particular was absolutely divine and was lately so beautifully, everything was presented so intentionally it was almost too pretty to eat! The service was also very good, our waitress was very attentive and made sure we were taken care of the whole night! [[HIGHLIGHT]]This restaurant is kind of tucked away but once you walk in it's like you're transported somewhere else completely! I didn't know you could even find somewhere like this in seattle honestly, the vibes were immaculate![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's a bit dark and moody but the lights illuminated the food in such a perfect way as if they had little spotlights on them![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It was a bit expensive but so worth it for a celebration! Parking was challenging to find but just come a bit early and carpool!

Is wine corkage allowed in Seattle?

Yes. Per their website: "Wine Corkage Fee is $35 per 750ml Bottle of Wine. We kindly ask that only 2 bottles are brought per table that is not a current selection on our wine list."…

Every custom flight is tailored to your specific taste and price point which I love. Hannah, one of their whiskey curators, is super knowledgeable and created one of the most memorable bourbon flights I've ever had with super rare allocated stuff. The service here is extremely friendly. I was speaking with Hannah about what I wanted in my flight and shared my wish list. Based on that, she chose 4 esoteric bottles that each had their own characteristics that would be interesting to compare against one another. My flight consisted of the Pappy Van Winkle 23 years, Colonel EH Taylor Distiller's Council, Very Olde St. Nick Superfreak, and Wild Turkey Austin Nichols 16 years. It was super nice trying all of these rare bottles that I wouldn't even be able to find, and they were all interesting and delicious! The food here is also fantastic. We came during happy hour since the food is a lot cheaper. My favorite things were the Dry Aged Steak Frites and the Crispy Pork Belly. The steak was cooked perfectly and extremely tender with a great beefy flavor. I love a good french fry and these were fresh and crispy. The pork belly was tender and fatty but the fat was nicely rendered so it wasn't chewy. I love the Asian inspired flavors and the kimchi slaw provided the perfect acidity and freshness to complement the fatty pork belly.

We arrived right at the opening time and there was a line, but it moved pretty quickly and we got our food in about 30 min. As for the food quality, these were some of the best steaks I've had in Seattle at this price point. $15 for 4 oz steak frites is a great deal, and they really load you up on the fries so you get full even with just a 4 oz steak. The steak is cooked perfectly edge to edge pink since it's sous vide. They get a nice sear on the outside so you still develop a good crust and deep flavor. It's super tender and I love the fat cap adding a beefier richness. The best sauce by far was the Sichuan Au Poivre. It was creamy, rich, and had a light citrusy peppercorn flavor. The highlight was this sauce with the fries. The sauce soaking into the beefy tallowy frites was amazing. My only complaint is I wish it had a stronger peppercorn flavor. I also liked the duck breast with the au Poivre sauce (maybe even more than the steak).

I was…read morehonestly a bit nervous beforehand, as I'd read quite a few reviews that had cited long lines, really long wait times for food, and people's orders getting lost. I can't fault a place for having lines (if you're popular, you're popular) but I was worried that we'd be dealing with both long lines and long wait times for food given that it was a weekend. I even packed a snack just in case, since I can get pretty hangry. Thankfully, the whole process was actually really smooth! My guess is that the expansion of Steakeasy's hours to include both lunch and dinner instead of just lunch has taken the pressure off the lunch service. We only waited in line for about two minutes before ordering, which was super easy given the limited menu. We were given little number signs to bring to our seats and found seats relatively easy. Now I wouldn't come here with a huge group, as most of the tables here are on the smaller side (2-4 tops) but the two of us sat down at the bar and soon after we sat down a couple tables became available. While waiting for our food, I took full advantage of the Stumbletown bar and first got a Blackberry Gin-ger and then a Purple Rain. Can you tell I like gin? I loved the cocktails and they're super quick. Food came out pretty quickly, and we were digging in about 10-15 minutes after we ordered. I got an 8 oz steak frites with chimichurri, and my lunch buddy got a 4 oz steak frites with the Sichuan au poivre. We both got our sauces on the side, which they were happy to accommodate, so that we could dunk the steak and keep our fries crispy. The steak here seems to be generally cooked to medium doneness. My ideal is a medium rare but I can rock with a medium if needed. The cut is a lean one, so this is more of a meaty one where you'll need to use your teeth than a melt in your mouth type of situation. The sauces are great, and I think the meal really benefits from the green freshness of the chimichurri. While the Sichuan au poivre seems popular (and I definitely dunked my fries in my friend's au poivre sauce) there isn't actually much Sichuan peppercorn flavor. The fries were pretty solid and plentiful. Due to having our sauce on the side, most of our fries stayed crispy until we ate them. The steak frites here are a really good value, with a 4 oz steak frites going for $15 and an 8 oz steak frites going for $25. Is this the best steak ever? No, but it definitely scratches that itch and is a good time. Worth trying!
