We found a place on Yelp closeby to the Eiffel Tower but it was absolutely slammed with over an hour wait. So, we found Le Bosquet within walking distance with a good rating and decided to check it out. It's a nice restaurant on a quiet street and was not very full when we showed up. As it was a bit chilly outside we opted to dine indoors. The wife started with the French Onion soup and although it was good it came out extremely hot and took quite a while to cool down before eating. I wanted to try some fois gras so I went with the duck fois gras plate. This was kind of a mistake as it came with 2 huge slabs. I think this would be more appropriate for a table to share but no one else in my party wanted to eat any. I wasn't really impressed with the dish and probably ate too much of it. For main I went with the traditional rib-eye and frites. I was quite surprised that neither the rib-eye or the fries had any seasoning and the entire dish was very bland. My friend also felt the same about her lamb chops. Our other friend went with the filet and frites and hers came out very rare although she requested medium-well. The wife's goat cheese salad was pretty good. Overall we were not impressed with the food and it wasn't really a cheap meal. I would have given the review 2 stars but the manager helped my wife put on her jacket when she left so she made me add back at least one star. Food was alright. We got the salmon pasta, and the salmon was a bit salty. Also got steak, which was decent. Escargot was okay because of the sauce that they put it with, it pretty much masked the taste of the snail. Very chewy haha. Service to me is what makes me enjoy my time at a restaurant. We got seated in the middle of another guest And the table next to us was free. So when i asked to change our seats, the server got pissed. And said to us you cant sit there, thats for four people. So he decides to put us near the cashier spot. But when another couple comes in and sits in a four seater... it was okay for them. This is a place where all Rick Steves drones come to eat while visiting Paris, or so it seems. Americans definitely outnumber the French here in multiples . . but it's the more sophisticated sort - you know, the Rick Steves followers, not the Sarah from Alaska type (no disrespect intended). Because of their clientele, all the staff speak English well, which removes the anxiety that all of us who speak not a lick of French feels walking into a restaurant in France. Menu is translated in English as well. It is conveniently located only blocks from Rue Cler and a really good value for your Euro. During our visit, they were offering a 3-course prix-fixe for a mere €22. Compared to other places nearby, this is by far the best quality and value around. As for the food, it's pretty good. I had the duck confit both times because the boys just loved the crispy skin with the tender meat. Yes, I only got a few bites of my entree both times but I ended up eating the rest of the pommes frites that comes with the kids meal. On our last day in Paris we chose to go to Le Bosquet for our last meal. It was a lovely sunny day so I originally wanted to sit outside to enjoy the bright sun and great weather, but I could not stand to be next to the smokers ( Sorry if you are a smoker, but I can't deal when I am trying to eat. I have not wear to run) We sat inside with the very modern and classy decor. I ordered the Duck Confrit, it was very succulent. I could have done without all the green marinated in the tangy vinaigrette, but I took care of it first so I could thoroughly enjoy my duck which was very flavorful and roasted potatoes. My sister had the Chicken Curry with Basmanti Rice. The curry sauce was excellent it had the right amount of something that had a great kick of flavor. We saw a mouse in restaurant right as we were paying the bill. The one star is not because of the mouse itself ( yes it could sneak in as people open and close the entry doors in a city) but because when we told the waiter, he kind of brushed it off in French and did not even try and check or call anyone. Apart from this the restaurant would have been a 3 star for the food, 2 star for the service and 4 star for the ambiance. The black pudding was delicious, but the steak, salmon and duck confit were just average. Portions were small as French food typically is. Deserts were great - chocolate lava cake, crème brûlée. Had to keep flagging the server down for service... he never approached us to check in. Well, apparently Rick Steves recommended this restaurant in his guidebook of Paris, so make of that what you will. In other words, expect to dine with tourists (who either visited the Eiffel Tower beforehand or plan to visit it afterwards) and locals alike. There's also a wild lack of consistency when it comes to the quality of the dishes, so glance over at the chain-smoking Parisians to see what they've ordered and not the American tourists who had the audacity to wear tacky salmon shorts in Paris. I came here solely for the duck confit, which didn't disappoint. But it didn't exactly impress me either. The best duck confit I've ever had was at a renowned posh restaurant in Washington, D.C. with fancy (and kind of unnecessary) mission figs on the side for decoration -- it cost twice as much as the €16 duck confit here. But c'mon, who am I kidding? Get the duck confit! You're at an unpretentious brasserie in Paris just minutes away from the Eiffel Tower by foot. You're pretty much living the life. Every single succulent and juicy bite of the perfectly crispy duck confit is well worth it. I loved the fresh escargots as well -- what a flavorful combination of herbs and butter! On the other hand, I'd like to completely forget about some of the other dishes I had. French onion soup is a dime a dozen at any respectable French brasserie and you'd be better off skipping it here. It was far too salty to even try to enjoy. The smoked salmon pasta was disappointingly bland. The fish dish of the day (or the grilled sea bass... I can't remember which one we went with) could have presented a legitimate choking hazard due to the plethora of thick needle-like bones still hidden inside. To experience the best of what Le Bosquet has to offer, come here for dinner, order the escargots and duck confit, and then enjoy a leisurely post-dinner stroll to the lit-up Eiffel Tower. read more

Great little corner restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating walking distance from the Eiffel Tower. The menu consisted of French cuisine and some American type of options. We had the grilled fish, lamb and the escargot. The food was good not outstanding. The wait staff where very nice and accommodating. They spoke good English and the menu was bilingual in French and English so no need to try to read French only. Overall it was good and it was close to our hotel, so it was a nice place to have a late dinner walking distance from our hotel. Food was just ok. We saved Saturday night for our last nice meal in Paris and showed up 45min before closing time but were received with a stank face because the staff wanted to go home early. We were asked what drinks we wanted on our way to the table, we didn't know yet and that seemed to piss them off. They asked for our food order 3 times in under 10 minutes. We get it, they are over their shift but they set the tone of the dinner from that point on. Food came out fast and was alright but nothing special. It was 20min before close and the server asked if we could pay cause they wanted to close. I enjoyed a late lunch here on a cold afternoon. The dining room is surrounded by windows which was nice because it felt like being outside, but it was nice and warm. I was seated next to a table of local men who were having a very lively discussion. This was great because I practiced my French by eavesdropping and because it told me that the locals like this place. I had the salmon which was very good, but it was delivered to me with the skin side up. I'm not sure if that was a mistake or that's just how it's done in Paris. Unfortunately, I was a little underwhelmed by the white rice which is why I didn't give the restaurant 5 stars. This was a mixed bag. My duck confit was amazing - perhaps the best I've ever had - but the other food was mediocre and we had a terrible waitress. I had the pre fixe for dinner and chose the vegetable soup, duck and pistachio pudding. The soup came out so lukewarm it was basically cold, so I had to send it back. For only being in Paris for a weekend, I lucked out on trying Le Bosquet. My dining experience here has got to be one of the best I've ever had. Atmosphere: Trendy. Pretty fancy and spacious. Food: Shared the escargot and pate as appetizers. Being that it was my first time trying snails, I was nervous. But the escargot here was delicious! It had a wonderful pesto flavor to it. The pate was also very good. For my main course I had a chicken dish that was to die for. The meat fell right off the bone and had a wonderful hint of rosemary to it. I still think about it even though it's been months! For dessert I tried the creme brulee, and that was also delectable. Everything was beyond satisfying, and it was all surprisingly not as expensive as I thought it would be. I ended up paying about 35 Euro for all of what I talked about AND wine. Service: Our waiter was awesome. He was helpful and kind. He even made sure we understood him by writing down train times on a napkin for us once we were ready to leave. My mom and I had dinner at Le Bosquet on our last night in Paris. Her birthday dinner. It's located right across the street from out hotel so we walked by it several times, and finally checked it out. The ambiance is really nice and the host/waiters were all very kind. Since it's in a touristy spot, they have a copy of their menus in English too. They have a great selection of wine as well as cocktails. I had a couple cocktails and really enjoyed both. For our entrees, mom got the steak and I got the tortellini. Both were delicious! This was one of my top 3 meals while in Europe. My husband and I wanted the french food experience, so we came to this restaurant. We ordered the croque monsiuer, duck confit, foie de Gras, and escargot. The escargot is a must try and so fun to eat. Make sure you watch a YouTube video on how to eat it before. Because I watched a video, and I still struggled. The foie de Gras was good, but what really shone was the duck confit. It was tender, delicious, and pulled right off the bone. Our least favorite was the croque monsiuer. It was plain in comparison to the other dishes. The only complaint we have about the restaurant is that our server disappeared for about 30 minutes and we wanted to pay the bill. We assumed he went on his break, but he never told us or transferred us to anyone else. Had he been present, we probably would have ordered dessert, but by the time he came back, we had to go to our next destination. Our final destination for the night was the Eiffel Tower. I decided to come here after reading about this place on Yelp. I had very high expectations and every one of them was met. The food is delicious and the staff was friendly. I ordered the escargot as an appetizer, lamb chops with potatoes and green beans for dinner, and an apple tart for dessert. Every one of these options was delicious and full of flavor. The escargot was a bit oily but tasted delicious. The waiter was also nice enough to show me how to eat them (this was my first time eating them). The lamb chops were tender and seasoned well, and the apple tart had the right amount of bitter and sweet. The restaurant is clean and very modern looking. I ate outside and there were heaters set since it was a little chilly. If you eat at night, I recommend bringing a sweater with you. This restaurant is located near the Eiffel Tower. Here it is - the rare 5 star review. Yes I said 5 Stars! Le Bosquet is the one stop that you must make if you are to go to Paris for dinner. The ambience is non pretentious but elegant. The staff is incredibly attentive. First course, the escargots. A little oily with the ever present olive oil, but garnished to perfection, this was a pleasant surprise. I am not a great fan of escargot, but this was truly an amazing experience. Additionally our waiter presented us with a free sampling of duck confite with a delightful selection of breads. Perhaps it was due to the large party that presented to the restaurant or perhaps it was the sheer selection in the menu that presented itself to us but I was able to sample food that I would not normally eat. Both of the above appetizers were incredible. I was told by one of my party that the onion soup was also delightful Main course for me was the pan seared sole, seasoned to perfection. The tenderness was superior to anything that I have ever had. No sauces. Just pure garnished non buttered new potatoes (small potatoes). A review of this type cannot give any justice to this dish. It was their special of the night and it was without a doubt one of the best that I have ever had. And yes I can compare this to the impeccable Blackened Redfish that is so delightful from New Orleans. Perhaps the same chef :). Another main course that I only tasted was the steak. This was of course medium well with not a hint of firmness. The French prefer to cook their meat with the fat still intact. Naturally we cut around it but there is an elegant tenderness attached to the meat that is so well seasoned and cooked to perfection. This was of course accompanied by the potatoes. Again perfection ! One member of our party exclaimed that the Pot Roast with mashed potatoes was also exceptional. Dessert was the apple tart with ice cream and heavy cream. I do not usually touch the latter two however I am in Paris and I made an exception. Nothing else to say about this other than true perfection. I had a glass of Morgan wine, unfortunately I have no idea what type of wine this was as it was suggested by the waiter who didn't understand my broken French asking what type of wine this was. Adding to this, the three waiters who served us were unbelievable. They spoke to my son giving him advice on life and they spoke with us about Paris and their thoughts on America, all very good. We stayed for about 3 hours and truly enjoyed our stay. What makes this the best restaurant I have been to in years? It was outdoors, there was no pretense, the ambience was incredible and above all else the concentration was on the enjoyment of food. There was no exclamation of This is Authentic French Food. There was no bashing of other cultures. It was just pure enjoyment. Even the waiters tried the food and the wine. It was pure enjoyment. If you are in Paris, you should go here. We came here for our "last night in Paris" meal and had a really good experience. Our waiter spoke perfect English which was much appreciated as our French was quite limited. I ordered the sea bass and my husband ordered one of the specials which was also a fish dish. Both were very good. The atmosphere was perfect, we came a little on the early side so there were only a few other people eating.
