I have been waiting to try this famous french bœuf bourguignon and I did and it was not how I thought it be. Maybe I was in the wrong place, bummer! I should've researched better (my bad). The bœuf bourguignon just tasted like diluted beef stew. I could taste the wine so maybe a bit more salt would've made the dish better. As far as service, it was pretty good. After a quick browse on Yelp, my family and I decided to have dinner at this cute restaurant after a late afternoon stroll around the Eiffel Tower. The outdoor seating area was bustling with diners so we figured that this place was a nice choice for dinner. We were greeted by a very friendly waitress who spoke good English and were provided an English menu. She informed us that there was happy hour, so being the Americans we are, got a little too excited and we each ordered a drink. To our surprise the drinks we ordered happened to not be included on the happy hour menu. While we shouldn't have assumed all the drinks were part of happy hour, our food however was quite tasty! I loved the French onion soup and my pizza was essentially a baked potato pizza (I have forgotten the name, but I'm sure the staff will know which one that specifically is). We stumbled across this place as our party of 8 (4 adults and 4 teens) were starving after our Eiffel Tower excursion took much longer than anticipated. I ordered the salmon poke (mixed greens topped with salmon and vegetables); friend ordered the same but with chicken. The chicken was so hard and dry you could barely bite into it. First night in Paris. We arrived, checked into our hotel, and went to look at the lights of the Eiffel Tower as it was already late in the evening. After we ooooed and awwwwed, we started looking for food. This place checked a lot of boxes for us--cute, lively, crepes, French onion soup--Done! They seated us right away, making a fuss because we like that. The waiter brought us some wine and we ordered right away. We were on the covered patio and it was lovely, but snug. Our food came out in a reasonable amount of time. The restaurant was busy for a Sunday night, maybe they are always busy. Our waiter was running like crazy. My soup came out with my daughter's chicken crepe. My cheese crepe came out after I finished the soup. I didn't notice that the crepes came with a side salad. It was a huge amount of food, and everything tasted good. My crepe was super buttery, and oozed cheese. I liked it better than the soup. The meal was moderately priced. Stopped here for breakfast before having to catch a tour bus to Versailles. The staff were friendly and the service was fast. The food was simple - scrambled eggs with a side salad and an omelet with a side salad. It costs more money to add ham, cheese, or mushroom to the omelet, so if you don't, just know you're getting the same thing as the scrambled eggs but for €2 more, and just presented differently (flat on a plate vs. scrambled and put in a bowl). Should have just stuck with croissants and coffee. read more

As the toilette beside the Eiffel Tower was out of service we had to embark on a journey to find one and this was the only open close spot. Asking to use the rest room = a big no no as that's what tourists do all day. I'm Far from a tourist as I spend a month here at a time 3 times a year and have been 8 times now and they have the worst mentality very cold and don't like to help someone out who needs to freshen up. Of course we purchased 3 coca colas to go for €2.50 each ! Just to make it down the stairs to find a line up of American tourists waiting to use the bathroom as well. Best part was they have a huge turn out but can't manage to put toilette paper in the ladies room but yet the mens had which was the only option I had, not that I really care anyways a bathrooms a bathroom to me. As my boyfriend waited outside for us I told him to sit down with our bag and drinks before we went back for our walk and the waiter rudely accused my boyfriend of using the wifi! LOL we have cellphones with labar chips in our phone sir with 12 gigs of data lol nobody needed your wifi. My friend last year had the same problem after a bus tour and I waited outside and the waiter was giving her hell to use the washroom. If people think the food is great than food for them I won't even bother to try it because A it's a tourist trap and B the service is terrible. read more

My family and I went here after being treated awfully at another restaurant across the street. The servers were very accommodating to the fact we had a stroller with a 4 month old baby girl. They went out of their way to try and make room for us. The restaurant was very tight and furniture was kind of all over the place in terms of look and decor. This was a nice stop for relief during our day of walking. The staff was very friendly and accommodated patio seating for our group of five quickly. An English menu is available upon request. We actually stopped at this place twice. Once for lunch and another for a late night meal/ dessert since it was nearby and we were still adjusting to the time zone change. We love Yelp but if we had looked here prior to choosing lunch (and for the record, we usually do) we would have skipped Le Petit Suffren and that would have been our loss! And, not only is it super convenient to the Eiffel Tower, prices are reasonable and the crepes were delicious!! On my final day in Paris, I decided I wanted to try a savory crepe. Having already gone through quite a few restaurants in the area and passing this place several times, I decided to give this place a try. I sat outside at one of the tables and was my order was taken very quickly. I decided on the Parisian Savory Crepe. I started off with coffee crème, which was the closest thing to coffee as I have it in the US. It was light, airy, but had the right kick I needed to start off my day. The food then arrived in a wooden board and looked beautiful, piping hot. My crepe was tender and delicious, enveloping Swiss cheese, mushrooms, ham, and a fried egg over easy. Like my Croque Madam, I dipped chunks of rolled crepe with filling over the runny yoke to add to the flavor and texture. This was accompanied by a fresh, lightly dressed salad that was a good finish to my meal. They take a long time to get the bill, as I've noticed in all the cafes I've been to here, but I didn't mind this as it gave me time to think and enjoy my surroundings instead of feeling like I'm eating in duress. The servers here were polite, but don't expect any kind of small talk. Would definitely want to come back to this place on my next venture in France! read more

On our last day in Paris we decided to stop in on this restaurant we had been walking by every day. We had avoided it because the awnings read 'hamburgers', clearly catering to the tourist crowd. But we were cold and a little hungry, so we thought we'd have a little food and coffee. This is what I informed the waitress as we walked in, but an arrogant male waiter walked by and only heard "coffee", and barked out "Coffee only at the bar!". Then proceeded to make disparaging remarks about Americans, and later to mock us. The waitress herself was a little friendlier, but chided both us and other patrons about the need to improve their French. We tried to be friendly the whole time and not respond in kind. We both ordered different salads, and they were good. The long island ice tea I ordered was heavy on the Coca cola. We had eaten across the street twice at Fermine, and loved it. I was so happy to find this cute neighborhood gem of a restaurant that was located down the street from our Air BnB apartment. The food is simple and good, but what really sets them apart is their accommodating service. We even returned to spend New Year's Eve there and had a wonderful time. As American tourists real French food was new to us. Still our impression of this place was just okay. I tried aligot for the first time. Google results told me that it should be mashed potatoes mixed with Parmesan (? not sure). The actual dish to me tasted like soft Parmesan goo and I couldn't tell any potato taste in it.
