I'm glad to see the Viet food scene is starting to get better here in Austin. They have typical Viet dishes like phở and vermicelli bowls. Their pho ga was flavorful and seasoned well, so I barely added Hoisin or Sriracha sauce in it. The beef was smoky and cooked well in the vermicelli bowl with plenty of veggies. Their cafe sữa đá was a bit too sweet for my liking.. wish it was a bit more bitter with less condensed milk. Otherwise I was satisfied with my visit! Today was my second visit to this marvel of a bistro. The first time by accident, this time I drove from South Austin to get back to the bright, flavorful cuisine. I ordered the Bun vermicelli bowl with spicy chicken (not so spicy don't worry) and added green papaya this trip. Fresh greens, perfectly cooked noodles and tender well seasoned chicken. The space is clean and modern and the young staff friendly and attentive. Ample parking and plenty of room for distancing inside. I'm from Seattle and haven't eaten this well since I left. I've been craving a banh mi sand which for some time now. The owners of this establishment also own Saigon or Vendor off the east side and also they are both Vietnamese so you know the foods going to be authentic. I stumbled in yesterday considering everyone and their mama was trying to take advantage of pluckers wing deal last night...I'll admit I was to for anti Valentine's Day. And no it's not because I didn't have a valentines it's because life comes up so my significant other was in a different state. Anyways besides my personal problems...I stumbled in here with already great expectations since the food truck is amazing! And I wasn't disappointed, I only tried the OG banh mi with an egg. Honestly the best banh mi sand which I've eaten. They are pricey for banh mi but they fill these sandwiches to the max...good luck trying to get the first bite into your mouth! The ingredients were all very good. The pate particularly stood out for me. Not all places include it. My friend got the spicy chicken, which he said was excellent and spicy, as advertised. The friendly staff at Le Bleu serve up fresh, vibrantly flavored Vietnamese food in a classy, casual, quiet environment. Each time I have been here I have enjoyed the food and received great service. I have enjoyed the Bò Lúc Läc on several occasions in the past but recently decided to try their Pork Bún (vermicelli noodles) with an eggroll which is my usual order at most Vietnamese restaurants. My dinner date had ordered the same and was disappointed that it was lighter on vermicelli than our other haunts but I felt the amount was spot on and I appreciated the mixed lettuce instead of the usual romaine and thought the pork was well seasoned and tender. I was less impressed with the egg rolls and would likely not order them again. We splurged on dessert and were glad we did as the creme brulee was delicious with a hint of orange. I also appreciated the sweet ice tea which being a jasmine tea paired well with my meal. Our most recent visit was on a Friday night during which time the large dining area had only a handful of diners which helped keep the noise down making for an enjoyable environment for talking over dinner. I love happening upon good restaurants that aren't so busy you have to worry about the noise but it raises my worry they won't fare well in the competitive world of restaurants. Fortunately for Le Bleu, although there were not many people dining in, it was clear that they do a healthy take out business as there was a steady stream of traffic coming in to pick up orders. read more

Fantastic banh mi sandwich. We've been going there for years and never been disappointed. The bread is always perfect. I get the pork and it is always well cooked and perfectly seasoned/sauced. My wife gets the tofu and loves it as well. The vegetables are always fresh, never anything gritty or undesirable. The spicy carrots add that extra zing. Juicy chicken thighs, creamy aioli, fresh pickled veggies--all layered together to create the perfect bite. The toasted french bread was soft inside and crunchy outside: a great vehicle for great fillings. The sandwich is really big and filling, well-worth the price tag ($8). We ordered online and ate at the picnic table in front of the restaurant. This was my first time eating at Le Bleu but have always loved their other location Saigon Le Vendeur. We ordered the OG banh mi, shrimp banh mi, grilled pork bun, brussel sprouts and spring rolls which were all fantastic. Everything was delicious and our order came out faster than estimated.
