We recently went to Le Bilboquet to join my sister and brother-in-law who came into Denver for a quick weekend visit. They had received a gift card to this restaurant as a birthday present and we met them there to enjoy a lunch together. First thing to remember is that there is a lot of construction going on in Cherry Creek which limits the amount of parking spaces available. I highly recommend carpooling with a friend or walking over to the restaurant if parked at the nearby mall. This is considered an upscale restaurant and is perfectly placed in Cherry Creek. My wife commented on the scent of flowers, coming through the door way when we first entered the restaurant. The dramatic lighting and welcoming staff were the next things that we noticed. Nearly every table was filled on this mid-afternoon Friday and it was a good thing that we made a reservation! Our server greeted us almost immediately, provided water and took our drink order. The tables are covered in tablecloths and have a foam topper that makes some of the glassware unsteady, but none of us had any spills. Our server was very patient and offered suggestions as we struggled to find what we wanted among the many good choices! The salads and soups were delivered to our booth fairly quickly and followed up in a reasonable time by our main lunch items. Real Sterling silverware, and the presentation of our meals was something that prompted all of us to want to photograph them! Serving sizes were appropriate, we didn't feel over stuffed and even took half a sandwich with us to go. The restaurant crowd thinned over the course of the 90+ minutes we were there, and never once did we feel slighted by our server who always maintain an awareness of our drinks and food. Great food coupled with excellent service in an environment that was easy to enjoy make this a must stop if you're traveling through Denver, meeting up for a business lunch, or simply enjoying an upscale meal with your favorite friends. read more

Frustrating to arrive for Mother's day brunch only to find that they switched from regular brunch to an insanely priced pre fixed menu. Never would have booked had we known it was $115/ person but it was too late to get a different reservation. They charged an additional $25 for a basket of 3 croissants, felt like a money grab. Food was nothing special, definitely not worth the cost. We had good service but that was the only positive. read more

I spent $400+ for a dinner for two for a very lackluster New York steak and some scallops and a small handful of cocktails. Tired of restaurants trying to justify high prices without justification. The same dinner cooked at home with the same drinks would have cost 10x less. Get it together guys. 1oz pours with shitty meat isn't a win for anyone. You have the recipe for greatness, do better. This place has good service and atmosphere, whether you sit inside or outside you're going to enjoy yourself. But, the food just isn't that well executed. We had the foie gras, this was a great dish, beautifully plated and a very generous portion. The endive salad was a disappointment, there was only a few whole endive leafs in there, the rest was the hard parts. The fruit that we thought would be fresh was dried. It just felt like they didn't even try on this one. The veal scaloppine had a great sauce, but was tough, that was disappointing as well, because veal is so tender. The scallop dish had small scallops and the pairing with it was cold so the entire dish ended up being cold. That was not well thought out. Bonus points, we sat on the patio with our dog! I think they need to up their game, they have a big and diverse menu, but when the print is better than the dish that doesn't cut it. read more

I brought my mother here for Mother's Day 2024, ahead of a year of health complications, hence my delay in writing this, and we thoroughly enjoyed our prix fixe brunch! The service was slow that day, as expected, but our reservation was seamless. We enjoyed our cocktails, food, service, and the beautiful ambiance. I'm not sure why its rating has decreased in the span of 1.5-years from the 5-stars when I originally found this venue, but we had zero complaints, and nothing but rave revues from my highly particular / Southern born & raised mother! read more

My partner and I live in Cherry Creek but had never dined at Le Bilboquet. My partner purchased a gift card as a holiday gift for me, so we decided to try it for Valentine's Day weekend (the day before). Our reservation was for 6:30 PM. We arrived early but were not seated until after 6:50 PM, which was disappointing, especially for a special occasion. I ordered the veal scaloppini and my partner ordered the steak frites. Her meal was good. The veal had nice flavor, but it was very difficult to cut -- either the meat was tough or the steak knife was dull. We did not use the full value of the gift card and planned to use the remaining $10 balance plus cash for the tip. Unfortunately, it took nearly 20 minutes for staff to process the gift card. We were then informed it was restaurant policy that gift card balances cannot be applied toward tips. I have never experienced such a policy at any other restaurant I have patronized and found it quite frustrating. Because of the overall experience, we do not plan to return. We ended up giving the remaining gift card balance to a young couple to use toward their meal, which at least helped end the evening on a positive note. read more

This is a beautiful place to dine- inside and outside. I especially love the outdoor seating on a beautiful summer's evening. Service is well paced and you don't seem rushed. I went twice for dinner within 2 days as I really enjoyed my meal and wanted to go back to celebrate a family win event. Food- escargots are wonderful. For $22 it should come with with more than 1 toast though because you need to pay for bread service . The taste is excellent though. Entrees- we had the duck, chicken and steak frites . All excellent. My favorite is the chicken and the fries they come with are crispy and great. On to dessert- ordered the creme brûlée and chocolate mousse . Both were traditional and delicious. The chocolate mousse was memorable. I really loved ending on that note. I had a reservation on Thursday and walked in on Saturday. On neither night was the restaurant fully booked . However I was turned away on Saturday night. They said they had no tables til 8:30 , however when I checked online at 7:25 - plenty of seats were available. Out of the 3 restaurants we tried to get into, this was the only one that did not offer to put us on a waitlist. Seems like poor business practice. Nevertheless my daughter wants to go back for her birthday as she loved her meal. I will be sure to reserve a table in advance. read more

Really enjoyed a birthday lunch here. We had a late resy for 2:30p just a few tables eating. I had brought a cake and they were really nice and kept it in back. We started with the charcuterie board which was very good but only 4 toast points, we got the bread basket to go with and got like 5 more slices of bread. Next for lunch they have a prix fix for appetizer and entree in smaller portions for $45 or you can order regular items off menu. I have heard so much about the Poulette Cajun I had to try and wasn't on prix fix. A guest of mine got the prix fix Caesar salad and Steak Panini. The salad was huge, very strong flavors of Caesar but very good. The steak panini was a half order but a good size. My other guest got the regular panini order and it was 2 big pieces and fries. They had very good mimosas and sparkling rose. The waiter was very nice and kept offering take pics of our table and sang with us and brought a sparkler with the cake and cut our cake for us. When you leave with to go food they have these cute cloth bags they give you to take food in. The Poulette was good but not "Cajun" by any means. I read it means a dry rub method is why they say Cajun. Was not spicy at all. We had a great bday dinner and really enjoyed our meal. I heard they have brunch and would love to try. read more

Le Bib is my comfort restaurant. You know the type--when you can't decide where to go, it's the one you know will deliver. Every. Single. Time. The food is consistently good, the vibe is easy, and it somehow works for any occasion. Don't skip the beet salad with goat cheese (trust me), and yes, order the chicken--it's shockingly good. We always love sitting with Stephen--he's got a sixth sense for whether we're in a rush or lingering over great conversation. The whole Le Bib team is on it--friendly, attentive, and great at reading the room. The patio is lovely in the summer, and the recent interior update (hello cozy lounge and fireplace!) makes it a great pick year-round. We also love sitting at the bar for a drink and dessert before heading home. It's quieter than most Cherry Creek hotspots, even when full, which we totally appreciate. We've celebrated birthdays here, caught up with friends, and popped in for a casual Tuesday dinner. It is a chain--but it still feels like it belongs right in the heart of Cherry Creek. read more

This place is something - very bougie vibe. I came in for a quick to-go salad, which was AMAZING but it better have been for $40!!! lol It was a "Treat-myself" day so I let it slide. I am glad I looked in the bag because they forgot the fork and napkins, and when I asked for one they gave me an actual metal fork from the table. They asked for my reservation when the place was pretty much empty which I thought was interesting. The guy next to me at the bar got escargot and they looked yummy. Le Biboquet is a solid staple in Cherry Creek North. Lunch, brunch or dinner I've always had a great meal here. Highly recommend the cajun chicken (always perfectly cooked) and the La Bavette (perfect sized portion). Something about the french fries that I can't resist too. read more

Went here with some friends for Easter brunch. They had a prefix menu, which was pretty limited, especially if you are a pescatarian or a vegetarian. However, we were really excited about the ambience and the experience. The Crudo was incredible as was the lyonnaise salad the bread basket reminded us of being back in France. Everybody really enjoyed their entrées, but my husband would give his fillet A4 versus five stars. I loved my French omelette as it was prepared perfectly. Our dinner service began with Veuve Clicquot & caviar - phenomenal start. The acidity and lightness of the champagne cut through the richness of the caviar, cleansing our palates and allowing us to appreciate the subtle flavors of both. The spring 'Les Hors d'oeuvres' included Smoked Salmon and Foie Gras Mousse. The Smoked Salmon was made with salmon, egg yolk, egg white, & capers - light & fresh. The Foie Gras Mousse was topped with grapefruit gelatin and served alongside fig jam & toast - beautiful and complex. The Le Carpaccio de Saint Jacques was made with Scallops, Pearl Pepper, Tamarind Passion Fruit Ponzu & Wonton (the scallop carpaccio was the dish that won the 'People's Choice Award' at Rare Steak Festival 2023). This dish was an explosion of flavors - the natural sweetness of the scallops was complemented by the fruity notes of passion fruit and balanced by the tanginess of the tamarind & ponzu. The wonton crisps provided a delightful crunch in textural contrast. The La Salade d'Endives was made with Endives, Citrus, Almonds, Apricots, & Dijonnaise dressing. The spring 'La Soupe Du Jour' was Cauliflower. This soup was lovely - thick and savory with a bite of salt. For spring cocktails - we had the St Germain Spritz and a Blackberry Sage. The St Germain Spritz was my absolute favorite - a light and refreshing cocktail that's vying for spring's best drink in my book. The Blackberry Sage was characterized by premium black raspberries and a rum base - good and fruit forward. Le Poulet Cajun was made with Cajun Chicken, Beurre Blanc, French Fries & Salad. Le Poulet Cajun is the signature dish that put Le Bilboquet on the map (it's one of the best chicken entrees you can find in Denver). The chicken breast was succulent with a lovely spice rubbed exterior. The Beurre Blanc sauce was luscious & buttery. La Bavette was made with 8 oz Prime Flank Steak, Green Peppercorn Sauce, & French Fries. This steak was unreal; each bite had us coming back for more. The green peppercorn sauce was next level and generously coated the lean, rich steak. For spring 'Les Entrées' we had the Lamb Loin and the Branzino. The Lamb Loin was tender & juicy and was upgraded in taste from the sweet/spicy kick that came from the chutney. The Branzino was served atop a pillowy bed of rice pilaf that was cooked in a mouthwatering French curry. Time for more cocktails! The Plum Lavendar martini was light with a delicate floral aftertaste. The Coffee Amaretto Sour was tangy and refreshing on the forefront with some bourbon on the back. You know ... this is a beautiful restaurant. I love the outdoor seatings for large groups and the indoor lounge areas with lots of velvet seating. This is a great place for groups and I love sitting at a round table to be able to talk to everyone. I'm generally a fan of the food, although sometimes it could be a tad too salty. Things to note: 1) traditional French, seafood and steak 2) vegans would find it hard here but they could accomodate 3) I'm lactose intolerant, but they can accomodate and this is French so it's on me for coming here 4) yes, it's pricey but a nice date night occasion The food: 1) love the mussels and frites either as an entree to table app 2) the server recommended the Cajun chicken which is something I would never get, but it was very good 3) always get the risotto App 4) meh on some of the salads 5) seafood stew is good but can lean salty if you not ask them to tame it upfront since I've had this many times 6) dessert is a must 7) also / the cocktails are beautiful and strong The service was actually very slow and it was not a full house. My wife LOVEs seafood. That's my go to. Always. Especially for night like last night where is it a milestone birthday for here. First we are sat next to a loud table with a person often yelling F*** and shouting over those at his table about abolishing abortion. They leave so less of a big deal then we order food. We ordered Scallops, Duck and Mussels. Duck was good, Scallops were good, the mussels is where the evening goes off the rails. After eating some of the bowl, my wife stops suddenly and says that didn't taste right. She stops eating, leaving scallops and mussels. These are her two favorite foods in the world. About 4 hours after leaving the clear effects of food poisoning have begun. I call the restaurant the next day to just let them know that their supply of mussels probably should be tossed. I received a stiff brush off from the manager Matt. I then called the Health department to file a report. We will certainly never be returning. I'd recommend giving LE Bilboquet and their seafood at the very least a very wide berth. read more

I'm starting to realize how many French restaurants there are in Denver! I was excited to try yet another one for my friend's birthday. Street parking was surprisingly easy for an evening in Cherry Creek, though I guess it only really gets busy during peak shopping hours. Still a beautiful neighborhood! While waiting for everyone else to arrive, most of us sat near the fireplace, piling up our winter coats and ordering cocktails and wine to begin relaxing from the day. The table was uncomfortably low, especially since most of us were wearing heels and dresses. I think this area would be cuter on a date night with just cocktails, then I don't have to worry about flashing everyone else. The cocktails themselves were tasty! Very well crafted. The wait staff made excellent wine suggestions too. Eventually we were seated at our main table and shared a charcuterie plate. Service here is wonderful. For myself, I ordered escargot and La Bavette a L'Echalote (sliced flank steak, shallot sauce, fries) which were both okay. I usually get excited about escargot, but it was less flavorful than I thought it'd be. Tasted more like cooking oil than anything. The accompanying garlic bread was pretty good. As for the bavette, flavors were delicious, but I wasn't a fan of the plain presentation and viscous sauce. I just ate the steak itself and left most of the dry, overcooked fries. Overall I loves getting dressed up and experiencing the vibe of Le Bilboquet, which is super classy and fun. Great for business dinners, date nights, and birthday gatherings. Drinks and service were fantastic, but I'm sad to say I was disappointed by the finesse of the food. I'm sure I'll end up back here at some point on a date, though! read more

One of my absolute favorite brunch spots in Denver! Located on a chic and glamorous corner of Cherry Creek, Le Bilboquet is perfect for a weekend brunch or a romantic dinner date. It has outdoor patio seating, which is wonderful on those sunny Colorado days. My favorite, however, is to sit inside, because the architecture and design of the building is so beautiful. You really do feel like you are in a an upscale Parisian restaurant while dining--the seats are covered in velvet, the restaurant is populated with white tablecloths, and the plates and utensils are high-end. The menu is very standard French--nothing too new or modern, but it does the classics well. I love to order the Croque Madame or the Niçoise salad. I expected more from this restaurant, given its reputation and elegant-yet-casual ambiance, but it was still an above average meal. My striped bass was tasty, as was the rich mushroom soup I started the meal with. They accommodated my request for a ginger-infused mocktail, and service was the right balance of attentive without being overbearing. The chocolate mousse dessert with whipped cream was a little basic, and I was not particularly impressed by the white asparagus with poached egg. I enjoyed the nibble of beet salad that a companion shared with me. For the price, everything was just somewhat underwhelming. Walking past the outdoor seating reminded me of France and I was here for it. The interior is clean, well decorated and continues the French vibe. The hostess is tucked next and slightly behind the door. She did not greet us and we had yo flag down a server to get a table for lunch. There were lots of ladies lunching. The food was just ok which was disappointing especially at the price point. I don't mind paying $$$ if the food is amazing, but sigh ... just average. Bread and butter - kind of doughy with no crust with crunch. Just Ok Le Croque Monsieur - again just ok, the cheese and ham were not melted into the bread. The top sandwich kept sliding off. The fries reminded of McDonald fries if only they tasted as good as McDonald's fries. Again just ok French Onion Soup - Good, but nothing to write home about. 4 starts for the ambience but food and service are about 3.5. We were a group of 6, went in for brunch on Sunday and I think I expected better service to begin with. No one I noticed was enthusiastic to work there, and server didn't check on us much. On to the food: eggs Florentine were good but fries are too salty, mussels in wine sauce are great, my lentil salad with poached egg was just ok, not much flavor to the lentils, just bland. The star was the beets salad, beautifully presented and tasty I was told. Dessert was crepe Suzette (sauce was really good but the crepes were flat and dry) and chocolate mousse (olala so good!). Do you have a bad relationship with your money? (I do not, drop 1-star) Are you breaking up with your tastebuds? (Not yet, drop another) Should a high-end French restaurant inspire you precision service, on-point cooking technique and dazzling presentation? (Not here, third strike) Then Le Bilboquet is for YOU. Let's start with the good things. Alex, the bartender (the bar looked more fun, so we cancelled our table reservation with the hostess) was a highlight. He is exceptionally welcoming and engaging. The decor and vibe are fun, but definitely not catering to the younger couples that typically inject that fun. Drinks are NY pricy with Provo consistency (note, a majority of Provo residents do not drink). At $20 per house cocktail, the base liquor should be more than routine and precision from drink-to-drink should be exact. I get that rents in Cherry Creek North are steep and the margins on alcohol are great but the Coffee Manhattans I ordered in series were literally two different drinks, made by the same bartender, with different pour amounts, color and coffee flavor. I will say, the smoke on this drink, albeit gimmicky, was a good blending of taste and smell. It was like ski season in a high ball glass. The Martini Elacant, a sage infused creation, is impressive with the first smell and taste but with each additional sip, you quickly get bogged down in the syrupy consistency. La Salade Betterave ($18) is a nicely executed beet salad. It is not heavy and is honestly well-balanced with the addition of shaved apple and mandarin slice. The brown butter crumble is a nice addition for texture. The Delicata Squash Soup, provided to us as a taster, after we sent the risotto back, in an espresso cup (pretty challenging to eat with a large soup spoon that is as big as the cup) is beautifully flavored and holds it's foam structure on top to remove any weight. This should be a regular fall item for Le Bilboquet. Saffron Risotto, the Chef's Risotto de Jur, was a fail. First, it arrived via a food runner, who not only set it down in front of other patrons, but allowed them to touch it and then when we corrected her, brought it to us. Mon dieu!!!! It was tepid in temperature, already was setting a film and is presented in a bland manner with a 5:1 dish to food ratio. I love the French Laundry concept of bite, taste, flavor over gorge, devour, nap but you then need to execute on taste and flavor. We sent this dish back. The first aroma was that of dish soap. This was NOT the saffron. That flavor is present and distinctly different. The smell and taste were closer to Cascade dish soap than the earthy, sweet, floral nature of saffron. Even based on the smell alone, the patrons adjacent to us and the bartender agreed the dish was off. Le Canard Confit ($41) is a classic dish, not executed classically. While I recognized that the minimum requirement is for the duck to be salted and then slow-basted in it's rendered fat, My dish was JUST salted, no discernible addition of garlic or herbs, and taken to the point of dryness as it was overcooked, an incredible accomplishment with fatty dark meat. The accompanying mushrooms were done well and their earthiness was light, offsetting the fatty nature of the duck. You don't need to when Le Bilboquet is offering this slice of truck stop. It is a classic lemon meringue pie slice on a graham cracker crust. By the description, and this may be on me, I was expecting a hardened meringue-based dollop with a vanilla glaze drizzle and lemon zest finish. The first bite was good but the lemon filling overpowers the sparse layer of delicate meringue. In the end, we deconstructed the slice on the plate, focusing on the delicious meringue and leaving the lemon filling largely uneaten. I am going to finish with a MAJOR CONCERN and pet peeve when eating at a high-end restaurant. When a patron has completed their meal, REMOVE THE PLATES.
