I wish I remembered her name. She was both personable and professional. My conversation with her, though brief, set a welcoming mood. Please make reservations if you will be enjoying their Saturday brunch. If you want an intimate location for 2, I recommend that you set your reservation for 9:30 AM and enjoy one of the two tables for 2 in the section directly across from the entrance. My friend and I were able to have a long semi private conversation. My friend ordered the ratatouille crêpe and I ordered the seafood crêpe. I assume that she enjoyed hers as much as I did mine because both of our plates were clean at the end of the meal. The seafood crêpe had a tomato garlic sauce that was out of this world. We shared a crème brûlée that was the best I've had in a long time! Matthew, our server, always came around at just the right time. Can't believe I've never left a review for them. Anytime I crave a crepe Bon Ami is what I think about. I've been here mostly for brunch but dinner is top notch too. The service is always amazing and the vibe is just so French country chic. Wine list is great too. I highly recommend making a reservation and do try the stroganoff crepe. I've been coming to Bon Ami for years and am somewhat accustomed to the slow service, but our experience this most recent brunch kept going from bad to worse. We weren't given the opportunity to order until 40mins after we were sat, I guess we could have been pushier and ordered food when we ordered beverages but we weren't quite ready, and our server literally didn't offer to take our offer when he delivered our drinks and then ignored us for 20 more minutes. We did finally order and get our food, and the eggs in my Benedict came out fully hard boiled. It took us a while to flag someone down so I sat there while my friends ate, and when our waiter did come by, he told me that next time I should specify how I want my eggs, told me to order them "over easy". Sir, I want them poached, as advertised? It's a Benedict! And a few minutes later, my friend literally chomped into a piece of GLASS that was in her crab and avocado salad. The service wasn't the best either -- never got a refill on water even though my water glass was almost empty for most of the meal. Ordered the crab benedict crepe and farmhouse pancakes. They were both fine but not something I'd order again. The crab crepe sauce kind of tasted like canned tomato soup which was a little off-putting. The farmhouse pancakes were too dense and flavorless for me. I was also excited because the menu said they are served with "seasonal berry compote" and I was picturing something delicious and homemade. This absolutely, incredibly adorable French restaurant is in Denver, Colorado. I went with a couple of girlfriends for brunch. I am so disappointed that I did not take pictures to post. So, so good. This is a small establishment, nice inside and a great patio. Very welcoming. Riley was an outstanding server, but everyone we came in contact with was friendly and hospitable. We sat by the kitchen, which can often be a sub-par spot, but in this case it was very enjoyable. For a French restaurant, there were more vegetarian options than I would have imagined. They have a Vegetarian Dish du Jour and though it looked great that night, I had the St. Louis Crêpe and it was delicious. It is a Mediterranean styled crepe which had plenty of feta cheese, which I appreciate. The béchamel sauce was not too heavy (as many seem to be). The beautiful Italian had Escargots de Bourgogne, Mussels à la Marinière (both off the Happy Hour menu, and Pommes Frites. More like an "Appy" Hour! She loved it all. I tried the fries and they were wonderful. Our dinner companions had the Seafood Crêpe and the Prosciutto & Brie Crêpe and both heartily approved. Believe me, the plates were all cleaned. The wine list is not large, but had a good selection. We had been recommended the House Red, and it was indeed delicious, not expensive, and we got the bottle for half price on Happy Hour. Score! We all split a Nutella Crêpe for dessert, and that was fantastic. I highly recommend trying the crêpes - they have a large selection and they are big enough to be a real meal. However, all the other entrees looked tempting, too. One more thing - there is no parking lot; street parking only. But we didn't have a problem with that at all. read more

My waitress took my order, gave me fresh bread and provided the bill. I ordered the Beef Bourguignon for my main entree, and French Onion soup. The French Onion soup is titled differently on the menu. It's titled Onion Soup au Gratin. It was OK. I expected better. However, it wasn't bad. Beef Bourguignon was FANTASTIC! That gravy is PHENOMENAL! I would return here again just to order that. They serve fresh bread straight from the oven. Kudos to them for not serving it with frozen butter. Their butter is nice and soft. I also liked that the bread slices weren't big. Great excuse to order another serving of it which I did! I ordered their berry crepe for dessert as well. Met friends at Bon Ami for dinner and felt it was appropriate to write a review. We have dined at Bon Ami's sister restaurant, La Merise, which has always been superb. Frankly, Bon Ami was probably better! We all started with a cocktail; their bar is well-stocked and the drinks were nicely crafted. I want to say that Bon Ami was actually able to make a Gibson Martini which is becoming increasingly rare post-Covid. My wife tried the French Lily which is a creative blend of Tanqueray, Crème de Violette, Cointreau, and lemon juice We started with a shared cheese platter which had a nice variety of exceptional French cheeses. We paired this with an excellent Loire Sauvignon Blanc - the wine list here and the discerning insight of our server must be noted. Entrees were the rack of lamb, Salmon, Steak au Poivre, and Steak Frites. Everything was prepared perfectly with nicely plated generous portions. We shared a 2021 St Emilion Bordeaux Merlot-Cab Franc that nicely complemented our diverse mix of dishes. Desserts were espressos for the ladies and 20-year port for the gents. We lingered afterwards and realized we were the very last patrons - our server waited patiently while keeping the lights on! What a gem! The ambiance is French Country which has a charming feel. If someone said that this is/was a Michelin Star restaurant, I would believe it. French cuisine (in general) isn't something I frequently opt for when I am out for dinner with my family or friends. I haven't been to many French restaurants in Denver but I may be able to comfortably say that this is by far the best one I've ever been to. Ambience: Checked! The building looks inconspicuously unassuming meaning that it looks so small on the outside. But once you step inside and pass the bar area to the west side, you'll realize that it's got quite the space. And the decors are thoughtfully very French. Its cuteness compelled me to take photo after photo as we walk deep into the back of the restaurant. We sat all the way to the back of it (at the west end of it.) At 5pm on a beautiful Tuesday night, we were the second guest to arrive. It didn't take long before the restaurant reached 80-90% of its max capacity. Busy Tuesday night, I thought. Our waiter: Was Roger. He was efficient and professional. He focused on the task at hand. No small talk but sometimes that is the best. I was able to tell that he's been with the restaurant for a while due to his eloquence in his speech in explaining what the specials were etc. Wine: When I asked Roger about the House French Wine, he said it was a nice quality blend with some Garnacha in it. Sounded good to me. When he came back with the wine, I realized that there was a generous pour of it in a large red wine glass. And for the price of only $9, this is an amazing full-bodied wine. This is a must get if you are a red wine drinker. My daughter asked him for a suggestion which crepe we should get. He suggested Stroganoff. Along with that was the Vegetarian Dish du Jour (orzo pasta dish). We thought we'd split the two. Orzo pasta: This was impressively good. I mean the word "superb" may not describe the dish fully. We had nothing but utmost compliment to the chef who cooked it. Like I said, in my mind, this is a Michelin Star dish. Stroganoff crepe: If you are a meat lover, get this crepe. The garnished sour cream was a nice little touch added to the brown sauce that poured over the crepe. This was heavenly as well. We were so full after our meal. Although Roger brought us the dessert menu, we were simply too full to eat anymore. We decided to save that for our next dining. My daughter was so impressed with everything we had at Bon Ami tonight. As we were walking away from our table, she made a stop at the bar and bought a gift card for one of her friends as a holiday gift. We sat indoors but I saw there's also an outdoor patio which would be nice for warmer temperatures! The menu is quite extensive with lots of crepe options, omelettes, and French classics. They also serve complimentary warm bread and butter at each table, which is just alright, though I do prefer a crustier baguette. Wow, we went simple this evening for a very special occasion. We requested our favorite waiter, Chad. As usual, he performed miracles. This evening we had the crispy chicken and the hamburger... Five stars on each item. we started out having the oysters on the half shell which were wonderful. We each had a glass of Sauvignon Blanc. This a French restaurant/creperie off Alameda St northwest of Wash Park. Came here for dinner on July 4th, was able to make a same day reservation. The inside is in the smaller side and leans toward a more casual feel than upscale, however there is plenty more seating out in their patio. For drinks, we got French Connection cocktail (quite good), house white wine (okay), and Malbec 2018 (okay). Also got a Dewars scotch but they charge an extra $2 for "on the rocks" which is wild, never seen that at another restaurant before. Got the Mussels a la Mariniere as in garlic white wine sauce for an appetizer. This comes with a lot of mussels and although the sauce didn't have enough flavor, we still liked the quality of this dish. For dinner I had the lamb chops, which were cooked very well and were tasty. however the chef's vegetables on the side were flavorless and disappointing. The rest of our group tried different crepes which had good flavor but will cost almost $20 each. All in all, not a bad place but I think it would be better suited trying during their happy hour time read more
