    Soup dumplings

Denver just got a stunning new dim sum destination! From brilliant local restaurateur Sherry Crossland of SYC Concepts, Blossom by SYC in LoHi brings an elevated take on traditional & modern dim sum in one of the most beautiful new dining rooms in the neighborhood. Some standouts: - Amber Lychee Shrimp Balls - house-made shrimp mixture with a mozzarella center, wrapped in crispy rice puffs, fried, and served with sweet mayo -- presented on a golden tree! - Crab Roe & Pork Xiao Long Bao - delicate soup dumplings filled with rich pork broth and crab. - Black Truffle Shao Mai - traditional pork and shrimp siu mai topped with fragrant black truffle. - Caviar service! Sturgeon roe with all the right sides. - Miso Black Cod - oven-roasted miso-marinated black cod with orange marmalade over a chive yuzu cream sauce. - Slow Braised Beef Short Rib - sous vide short ribs over garlic potato purée with scallion ribbons and red bird's eye chilis. - Wagyu Fried Rice - premium wagyu stir-fried with savory truffle paste and topped with scallions. The cocktails are just as elegant as the food, and every plate feels thoughtfully designed for a special night out.

We opted for a 3 item bbq plate - roast duck, roast pork and bbq pork (char siu). The bbq pork was fine, nothing special but the highlight was the roast duck and pork. The skin on the duck is still crispy, and had a good ratio of fat to meat and bones. Some places make it with a strong star anise flavor, but HKB does not. The flavor on the duck is sooo good and not too salty. The roast pork was juicy and the skin super crunchy! They gave a solid portion too. I'd spend my $20 on this any day! The 2 item and 3 item bbq options are on a separate lunch menu, but I'm not sure if it's offered daily or just weekdays. The rice plates come with some steamed chinese broccoli and a big scoop of rice. They also provide the bbq with a little dipping sauce. It pairs well with the greens, but is a tad bit salty so use sparingly. We also ordered beef chow fun, dry style. The beef slices are tender, the chow fun has that good wok hei flavor, nice and smoky. I do wish the noodles were a tad bit wider but overall, very solid dish. Sesame balls look/taste like the pre made frozen kind. It had a good chew, solid red bean filling and you get a ton for $5. The service here is nice and friendly. They give you giant cups of water and will check on you to refill it as well. It's in a plaza, lots of shared parking spaces and they do take CC for payment. I am devastated that my now favorite HK BBQ is not in California, but if anyone asks me where to eat in Denver, this spot is going to be my #1 recommendation.

Best to be eaten right away otherwise it gets soggy. The peiking duck was a little fatty but can't complain given the crispy skin and just being able to experience this in Denver, where it's rare to get real Chinese food. The Bao is super fluffy as well.

Split half a duck and a pound of crispy pork with my friend. Definitely enough and can feed 2-3 people. The duck itself was juicy and had a good amount of portion. The sauce is on point. The crispy pork was also juicy, and just enough crispy skin without being so hard to break teeth. Prices also aren't bad, I think it came out to $50 for what we ordered along with a large amount of rice and two diet cokes. This place is spot on. Service was great too. Seems family run which is great. Will come back again for sure!

This is always our to go spot to grab some classic chinese dishes. We always get their roast duck! Came in on July 4th and was a little busier than usual, however I was greeted fast by the friendly staff and got taken care of as soon as they can. Let me know that it was gonna be a while (we had placed an order of one whole roast duck and one chicken rice plate dish to go). I said no problem as I was gonna do groceries next door to HMart anyways along with the other customers as well. Came back and had to wait only a couple more minutes, I can tell they were pack but no problem at all as I was very happy to see some very fresh, crispy, and awesome looking ducks being brought out to hang so was super stoked right away. The roast duck is my familys favorite and this time came out even better than before maybe because it was so fresh. Ctispy skin and tender meat packing with awesome authentic flavors. I had the chicken with rice to try for the first time and that was so good as well! Will definetely order it more next time as well!

They have the dim sum, set price family dinners, special chef menu and then the main menu with; Chicken, beef, lamb, vegetables, lobster, FROG!, tofu, pan fried noodles, soup, just to name a few. This is a seafood restaurant and saw them fishing the lobsters out of the tank. We started off with a family favorite of small size of seafood fish maw soup which could have easily fed 6-8 people. We were a party of 4 . We had extra to take home too. Then we moved onto the highlight which was the crispy Peking duck. We were 4 people and this 1/2 duck was the perfect size. The skin was juicy and crisp and not dry and leathery. This was a delight to have and the star of our dinner. We then moved on the a chef special menu item which was smoked spare ribs. This was a disappointment. We got overly sweetened little tiny riblets with no smokiness. They were super thin and not what we expected. Will kit order this again. The black mushroom with vegetables was ok. I expected the black mushrooms to be more tender and felt they could have been simmered more to make them softer. They were a bit chewy The yang chow fried rice was a bit on the dry side. We ordered the beef noodles with gravy and this dish was perfect with the crispy noodles under a bed of beef and vegetables. This was delicious. We also ordered and nibbled on a couple of dim sum dishes for dinner. The deep fried meat dumplings were not greasy and had a crunchy exterior. We also ordered the lotus wrapped rice which was comfort food satisfying. We had a lively bilingual Chinese speaking waitress who was super friendly and had water, tea, ice water glasses filled at all times. She was helpful when selecting the food items.

My group of 7 shared the roasted pork, pork and duck barbecue. I'm not a fan of duck so it would not be fair for me to write anything about it, but those who loved duck meat said that this place serve wonderful barbecue duck. As for the pork, both roasted and barbecue, they were so good. We had a little bit of white rice to eat with the meat, but really, you don't need the extra rice in order to eat these two types of pork meats. Since both styles of the pork were prepared differently, I cannot say one is better than the other: they were both delicious. The crunchiness and the flavorful from the roasted pork, as well as the aroma and the soft chewy from the barbecue pork, brings this dining experience to the next level. We also ordered the yu stir fry choy sum in garlic, the combination fried rice, and salt and pepper shrimp. I highly recommend the yu choy and shrimp dishes. I would skip the fried rice and get their beef chow fun, which is exactly what my other group of 6 did. In addition to what were mentioned above, they ordered Chinese broccoli, daikon and beef in clay pot, Taishan five spice duck, salted fish & chicken fried rice. Everyone enjoyed their food and dining experience here. Conversations were easily understood and heard. When asked what their favorite dish was, all of us said we liked everything, but when pressed to give one special dish, several folks mentioned the roasted pork, the clay pot, and the salt and pepper shrimp. Service here was excellent. The manager was very accommodating to our large group of diners, coming back and making sure we are doing fine as he refilled our water glasses. If you are looking for legit Chinese barbecue pork and duck, you don't need to look further: it's here at Happy Cafe BBQ. Enjoy!

I was however charged for the brown rice which I am sure was an oversight as I didn't see this until I got home. On the positive side, the portions are quite generous. The Beef chow fun was ok and the egg fu young itself was ok but sauce was heavy and salty. Yen told us that they have a great community around there that supports them so I was happy to hear this. There are much better Cantonese options in Denver but happy we give this a try. Food is just ok and very large portions so if this is your thing, then go for it.
