Plus the portion sizes are generous and very reasonably priced. I get the impression most people do take out. My son and I dined in. Id recommend it. I think the location itself might put people off because its on a big intersection but not near many other businesses and it only has like four parking spots. I quite liked the atmosphere inside. Stopped in here after leaving a doctor visit and noticed the place. I looked at reviews before coming in. Place looks better on the inside than outside. Yen who greeted us was very nice. We ordered some beef chow fun and chicken egg fu young to go with brown rice. The brown rice was not ready and would take an extra 20 minutes so we skipped the brown rice and just went with white. I was however charged for the brown rice which I am sure was an oversight as I didn't see this until I got home. On the positive side, the portions are quite generous. The Beef chow fun was ok and the egg fu young itself was ok but sauce was heavy and salty. Yen told us that they have a great community around there that supports them so I was happy to hear this. There are much better Cantonese options in Denver but happy we give this a try. Food is just ok and very large portions so if this is your thing, then go for it. Chinatown Bistro is a staple for me. It's good Chinese food for the Uptown Area. I've eaten in once, but I believe the main purpose is to-go. I would recommend ordering on their website and doing a pick-up order. The actual brick and mortar is a bit small, as well as the parking lot. The intersection it lives on is a bit hard to navigate if you're not used to it. The real stars on the menu are the Wontons in Hot & Spicy sauce and the Sesame Chicken. The Wontons pair well with Thai Basil Fried Rice. The sauce has a good spice level and soaks the dumplings in a savory flavor. The Sesame Chicken has a perfect crunch and coating. It's not too saucy with a great flavor. One notable thing about this place is the portions. The amount you get either lasts a while or feeds an army. The lunch special they serve until 3 daily is worth it always. You get more than a healthy amount of rice as well. This place is solid! I order from here about once a month. Lunch special portions are HUGE (3-4 meals for me). I've yet to find anywhere else in Uptown with an $11.95 lunch special and these portion sizes. My go to's are sesame chicken, green curry, pad thai, hot and sour soup, and crystal spring rolls. read more

I admit I was dubious about this little spot which sits in a tiny, nondescript building at the southwest corner of Park and East 18th Avenues. My friend, who generally has a discerning palate, said it was good, so I gave it a shot. The interior is tiny with tables for only twelve people. There is a small bar which was being used by the staff. One wall is surprisingly well-decorated. It seems like most of their business is take out and delivery. Many bags were lined up when I collected my order. The menu is mostly Chinese-American standards including a nice mix of beef, chicken, pork, shrimp, fried rice, and vegetarian dishes. There are a few surprises. I haven't seen Egg Foo Young on a menu in a long time. Chinatown Bistro offers it in five varieties. There are a number of Lo Mein and Noodle dishes plus Pad Thai, Drunken Noodles, and Noodle soups. The usual suspects populate the regular soup, salad, and appetizer sections. So, why am I rating this so highly? The execution of these dishes is extraordinary. I find most restaurants that cook with woks tend to overcook proteins. Not here. I've tried the beef, pork, chicken, and shrimp. Every single bite was cooked to absolute perfection; tender, moist, and succulent. I tried the fried dumplings which were tender, very flavorful, and came with an excellent dipping sauce. The Wonton soup had a great depth of flavor and the dumplings were delicious. I also tried Happy Family and Combination Fried Rice. Again, flavor after flavor plus perfectly cooked rice and vegetables. Yum. The portions were large and the prices were reasonable. I love this place. Fortunately, it is quite close to my home as I'll be visiting frequently. They are currently closed for two weeks so the family can visit relatives in China. I found it. It took a whole year, but I have finally found Chinese food in Denver that I plan to return to again and again. Bless you grubhub for delivering to our area! We ordered: Egg rolls: delicious, one order has 2 egg rolls Egg drop soup: excellent flavor and consistency. No frills (like added veggies), lots of tofu Vegetable lo mein: perfection Sesame chicken: very good, not my usual order but hubs wanted it and it was nice and crispy! Honey walnut prawns: so many shrimps! I know other reviewers mentioned it's expensive, and it is, but I think that's just the price of food these days. The above food lasted across 3 meals for two people, that's 6 meals! Other reviewers also mentioned the portions were small and I disagree. I'm sure this depends where you are from- as a west coaster, these portions were spot on to what I'm used to. Despite typically getting a stomachache after gorging myself on Chinese food (it's always my fault I know, it just tastes so good), neither hubs or myself had an ache after this one! Amazing Hong Kong style rice noodles. The noodles are perfectly cooked, soft and fluffy. And the beef they use for it tastes high quality & tender, unlike in most Chinese restaurants. The sesame chicken is also very good, wish the portion was a little larger though The staff is always very friendly. I just wish they made their sweet and sour sauce & hot mustard in house. I haven't actually been here physically, but I order them through Door Dash ALL THE TIME. It is my roommate's and my favorite place to get Chinese food from. We love their hot and sour soup, dumplings in spicy sauce, and their pork dishes. I find myself comparing other places to this one.
