Fortune Wok to Table is easily one of my favorite restaurants in Denver. As someone who gets serious decision paralysis when looking at menus, I love how small and focused their menu is. It makes ordering easy, and everything on it is executed really well. They have, in my opinion, the best dumplings in Denver. The bottoms are perfectly crispy, the filling is rich and savory, and every bite is so satisfying. Their house soy sauce with vinegar is also excellent and complements the dumplings perfectly. The Shanghainese spring rolls are another standout and honestly one of my favorite bites I've had anywhere. We also almost always order the street noodles, which are packed with flavor. It's a great spot for both dining in and takeout, and the food travels really well. I find myself craving it all the time. Easily a 100000/10!!! 3.5/5: For how expensive the food is, you don't get a lot of protein. It is however a lot of noodle. I got their stir fry with shrimp and it came with about 5 for 18 dollars. The dumplings they're well known for is not bad. Also a 3.5/5 for me. I usually like my dumplings with more juice, which is more traditional. Though it had more flavor than the noodles it was just about ok to me. Service as great. She took care of me quickly and let me know where I can wait. This establishment is absolutely a hidden gem. Dumplings and noodles are great. Patio vibes in cherry creek is rocking. Daniella is great at what she does. Get Prosecco or the gin and tonic or spritz. Can't go wrong for the price. I think what I love about the space is a comfortable space that ignores the pretentiousness of some cherry creek restaurants while they are capable of delivering consistently tasty food, off menu bottles of wine that we are always amazed that they carry. For me, this place is just ok. My noodles were ramen style and there was basic broth, some white meat chicken (a bit rubbery/overcooked) and very sparingly shreds of carrot & cabbage. I think there could've been more flavor to the dish and visually, it's very beige and bland, as well. I asked for some hot sauce and the chili sauce helped a bit, but still it was just again, bland. Inside is quite small, there's a few tables and I imagine rent in Cherry Creek isn't easy to manage. But, that's not for the diner to be concerned about when they go out to eat. Almost $50 for beef, almost $30 for chicken and broccoli, and $20 for a plate of vegetables...? I'm at a loss. I mean that right there, is $100. No Way is a dinner for two here worth $100 not including tip. So as for the seasonal section, I am not comprehending how the offerings versus the price points make any sense. The small glass of red wine was almost $13, too, and I'm just expecting a place like this to have more reasonable prices. But overpriced wine is a problem everywhere, as a wine drinker. These were so juicy and just flavorful enough to get our appetite going. They came with 6 plump dumplings. Highly recommend. - Shanghainese Noodle Soup with vegetables: my toddler scarfed this down. The broth was light and refreshing, while the noodles were super thin and chewy. Also had a nice amount of veggies. Loved this. - Jasmine Fried Rice with shrimp: if I didn't have to share this with 3 other people, I would have eaten this myself...SO delicious with plump, nicely cooked shrimp. I love shrimp fried rice in general and liked how light this was, yet it maintained the right amount of flavor for my liking. - Shanghainese Street Noodles with beef: my toddler also loved this one. We're on a mission to find good Chinese food in Denver. We were excited to try Fortune based on its reviews. There was no fish tank at the front of the restaurant...not a good sign...lol. The service was very good, and the value was excellent. However, in our opinion, the food was average to below average. We ordered a side of white rice, which was borderline inedible (hard and dry). Browsing through the Yelp Best Chinese Restaurant List, found I have never dined at Fortune Wok to Table in Cherry Creek North. Asked around and heard their Shanghai style handmade dumplings and noodles were quite good, so went there and ordered their wonton soup, pan fried pork dumpling and vegetable fried rice. The texture of the wonton and dumplings were pretty good, everything was very tasty. As I was complaining about parking in Cherry Creek North, heard they just opened a second location called Fortune Nong Jia Le in Washington Park (500 E Alameda Ave Denver). I love this place. We stopped in with our out-of-town son at his request -- we'd taken him a couple years ago. Says something when it's a flavor memory for someone from out-of-town. It's small but elegant interior sets the stage for the feast. The service is spectacular. The owner greeted us warmly as we walked in the door, then helped us choose everything from a beer (Jasmine Tea Beer) to the Winter Wonton Soup, to the Duck Shanghainese Street Noodles, to the Pork Fried Dumplings. I happened to stumble into Fortune on a recent trip to Denver, and wow, this place is a hidden gem! Very simple menu...dumplings, noodles, fried rice, soup, and a few entrees. My server recommended the pork dumplings and shrimp fried rice. Who was I to argue? Food came out fast, fresh, and hot. Coupled with a glass of IPA I was in heaven! The dining room is cozy and simple. As such, large groups may find it very hard to sit together. The service is super friendly and passionate about the food. yum, Yum, YUM!!!! decided to try this place while my mother was in town..... and WOWZA!! They are "known for their dumplings" - but everything we tasted was G- double O- D!!! We tried both the pork and the beef dumplings (side note, surprisingly the beef were better), then we switched to the duck street noodles and vegetable fried rice- both had great flavor!! But the real surprise of the evening was the beef with peppers! It was melt in your mouth tender and so light! not heavy like a lot of asian beef!! When i tasted it, i immediately told the table to "SHUT UP!!" and the cutie that she is, my mom came at the plate, chopsticks poised to attack and said, "REALLY??!!??" the look on her face proved it. First time visit on Christmas Day! I've been wanting to try FWT for *many* years and finally made it down! I was... disappointed. The atmosphere was so off for our Xmas dinner. Very loud "Tik Tok" music playing... it sounded like trap music. SO LOUD. It was awful and distracting. I wanted so badly to say something but alas... I had thought due to it being in Cherry Creek it would be different in terms of atmosphere. Not to mention the family next to us playing TV shows on their phone to distract their kids. The food - I did really enjoyed my noodles!! My dining partner was expecting more choices so check the menu first to make sure everyone will be satisfied and understand it's a Shanghai Noodle shop. I ordered a few dishes to go here. The Shanghainese Street Noodles here are pretty dang delicious! I've been looking for noodles like this for a while, and I think I finally found my jam here. While the green beans were seasoned well, I prefer them a little less cooked through. The fried rice was ok, but I doctored it up a little at home. Nothing a little soy sauce can't fix though. While the shrimp in the fried rice was fresh, it was bland and needed seasoning. The dumplings were tasty, but I recommend those be eaten right away as opposed taken home & eaten there. I felt that the serving size was generous, but a little on the pricey side. The restaurant setting is really cute and the woman who helped me was so sweet. It shows how places you dine can become more like a friendly neighbor's home. You instantly get a sense of comfort. You know? The menu is small and absolutely perfect! I appreciated how simple they kept it, because it made figuring out what you wanted so easy. We shared orders of steamed pork, pan-fried beef and pan-fried vegetable dumplings. They were each incredddddd-ible and had their own razzle dazzle. I'll be ordering ALL THREE every time I'm in the building. On top of the dumplings, we had shrimp noodles and vegetable fried rice. Again, they each had their own flare and sass that made you scoop more and more onto your plate. 3.5 Stars. So the food here is just okay. I know it is Cherry Creek so it is also pricey for what it is. Service is fantastic and friendly. Very clean and efficient. Food was not overly salty not ladden with MSG....that is a huge plus. But their Dumplings are very doughy and the fillings very meh. The Wonton soup broth was just okay as were the Wonton fillings. This unassuming little hole in the wall is one of the true gems of Cherry Creek. It's easy to miss, as the shop front is basically only a door, and the sign is rather unexciting. The menu is similarly plain - very few options but each is perfect. Especially the Shanghainese noodles. Simple, fast, a bit rustic, but packed full of flavor. The service is always good, nothing to write home about but I like that they are short, sweet, and to the point. Perfect for a lunch break. I simply needed to satisfy my big craving for delicious dumplings so I did a search on Yelp for places that serve potstickers/dumplings and I came across this business. As I saw other Elite Yelpers that graded this place with 4 stars or above, I had to go and investigate it myself so I went during lunch time on Sunday. This place is tiny. I first missed it passing it by as I wasn't paying close attention. Or I mistakenly thought that it was facing Detroit, not 3rd. Yep, the entrance is facing the 3rd. I like the concept of this restaurant: eat dumplings while sipping on a wine of your choice. In a way, it might give you an impression that it's a tapas place. Yeah, you can definitely call that but they do serve main (larger) shareable dishes/plates such as noodle bowls and stir fried rice. Inside of the restaurant is pretty simple but there is a subtle touch of some Asian culture(s) throughout the restaurant (although not too over-the-top.) Sometimes being simple is the way to go. I wanted to have both meat and veggie dumplings so I got me the pork one (pan-fried) and the veggie one (steamed.) They gave me two different sauces: one is soy-based and the other is spicy red (pretty hot!!) And I am happy to inform you all the readers of this review that both dumplings were quite tasty and they neutralized my craving to a point where my brain received the needed signal that I was satisfactorily recharged until I get another craving for dumplings in a few to several weeks. I have to admit that I've had a horrible experience with dumplings in the past where I went to a famous place specialized in dumplings (in north Denver) a few years ago but after I had theirs (vegan dumplings I believe) it gave me nothing but an upset stomach (I was pretty disappointed with that so I've nerve gone back there.) Well, I'm pretty happy that I discovered this place as this is close enough from my northeast DTC house so when I start having another waves of dumpling cravings I can rush to this restaurant in a matter of 20 min. And next time I go, I'll be sure to dine in because I'd love to eat dumplings sipping a nice glass of wine!! read more

Really good for what it is.. This little place has some very tasty options, we liked everything! It's not the traditional type of Dim Sum place that brings carts of various entrees. This place has relatively small menu options but what it does offer is very good. We had rice, noodles, bak choy & steamed & fried dumplings. My favorite thing we had was the duck noodles. Although I really enjoyed everything. The place itself is smaller in size but cute. We came here while on a trip to Denver. I would recommend it, the menus small but it works!! The staff is lovely and they are very proud of their food. The setting is small, yet pleasant. I used to think it was the best dumplings in Denver. While my family enjoyed the meal, I cannot say I have any interest in returning. The noodle dish, while tasty, was totally lacking cabbage. It was noodles, a tiny amount of duck and maybe a tablespoon of cabbage. I like more crunch and flavor. At nearly $25, it was pricey as well. Per his recommendation, even though I, too, am generally a steamed dumpling kind of person, I trusted his recommendation of ordering the pan-fried pork dumplings. They were delicious, and - as he mentioned - stuffed full of pork. Also trusted Matt's recommendation of the steak/beef fried rice, which was pretty good, but in addition to the styrofoam container somehow being too flimsy, such that when I opened it, it fell apart all over my kitchen floor, the rice was just OK, and I sadly lost some beef to the mishap. :( What I will say is that I also ordered the bok choy. Hands down the BEST bok choy I've EVER had. Did not see XLB on the street food/take-out menu, but perhaps it was on the dine-in, upstairs menu. Looking forward to that next time! read more

When your highly respected Yelp Community Manager (thank you Matt C.) recommends a restaurant you'd be a fool not to try it. So we drove around until we could find parking and headed on in. The staff was immediately friendly and attentive during our fairly quick visit. We just wanted to try the dumplings that we'd heard so much about and they didn't disappoint. They come in orders of 6 and it's not possible to mix and match so we got one order of pork and one of beef - both fried. We'll have to try the veggie ones next time. These were definitely good and cooked perfectly. The Jasmine tea was also very good. The restaurant is divided into two floors and we stayed on the main floor where the menu was pretty much only dumplings, fried rice, and noodles (in soup or on a plate). They have a varied wine list and a couple of beers. We were told that the upstairs is the "fancy" restaurant where an authentic chef's table experience will set you back a pretty penny. The casual area is small and very loud but somehow has a cozy feel. I look forward to going back to try more of the menu. read more

Man, why did I wait so long to go to Fortune?! We decided to share the Fried Pork Dumplings and Shanghainese Street Noodles with shrimp. Both were perfection! The dumpling dough was just spot on and they were pan fried beautifully. You can truly tell they make their dumplings in house. As for the noodles, they were light but still filling.
