Went here for a casual dinner before a concert mid-week. I didn't actually realize this was a Michelin recognized place until we walked in and saw the plaques. I love accidentally eating at Michelin places without planning it! They don't take reservations here, and there was a bit of a line to get in on a Wednesday, but ended up squeezing into the last seats that were available. Once they seat you, they have you go up to the counter to order once you've decided, and there you can choose to start a tab or not. So it's really informal and casual here. The place is really small and packed, so it's quite loud as well. What stood out to me was that the food was really noticeably fresh, well-prepared and had high quality ingredients. My favorite dish was the Málà Wings which honestly were the best wings I've ever had. Seriously. They were perfectly crispy, meaty and spicy. Coming here just for drinks and these wings would not be a bad choice at all. The rest of the food was good but not amazing. The Chinatown Dumplings were like normal dumplings but did have a stand out texture and consistency. The Stir Fry Beef Noodles were very good, with perfectly tender beef and generally had a pretty addicting flavor. The Sizzling Spicy Noodles were disappointing as they weren't as the name implied, not spicy at all and in fact very vinegary. The noodles in it were good though. I can see why they are Michelin recognized because of the high quality of the cooking. They have a fantastic drinks/cocktail program here as well. I wouldn't mind coming again but I don't really see a reason to rush back here. I loved the wings intensely but that's not enough to really make this a favorite destination. The food was just slightly above average overall by Denver standards. If I lived within walking distance maybe I'd be a regular.
Came to try this place due to them being Michelin guide and it did not disappoint! Loved their salt and pepper wings and their lap cheong fried rice. I did think the sizzling spicy noodles were not as good due to the texture of the noodles being super hard. Overall their baos were tasty and was a very cute spot for happy hour and a quick bite.
Sorry, this just did not land with us. We came in on a Saturday at around 3pm. We were sat and waited on immediately. Service was very friendly and attentive but the food was really subpar for the prices. Crab rangoons were oddly very sweet and the sauce that came with it was even sweeter so it threw us off from the traditional crab rangoons we know and love. The potstickers were decent but pretty large and heavy. The beef stir fry was lackluster. It had barely any beef and felt like a small portion. Highly recommend you get some chili oil to season up your dishes
Really friendly wait-staff. Definitely fusion restaurant, but still respectful of the culture. The Green onion pancake wrap was decent, not comparable to styles from Taiwan, but I wasn't expecting to find one that did in the middle of Denver. The corned beef fried rice was okay, I think their noodle dishes were a lot better.

This place rocks! We came in on a random weekday and it was pretty packed. However that didn't impact our service at all! Everyone was super friendly and things were speedy. We ordered a bunch of different options - mostly vegetarian/pescatarian and it was super easy to navigate the menu with dietary restrictions. I will say that the mozz sticks did said they did not have egg however came with a side of ranch which does have egg, but this was easily verified with the person at the counter. You do have to pay for street parking unless you park a couple of blocks away. The cocktails were fantastic as well. I just wish they listed what main spirit was in each of them (but this is another question that was easily answered by staff). The food tasted incredible. Everything we got we loved. We will definitely be back and the last note that I have is to add purse hooks for the window counter seats. :)
Not sure what all the hypes are. We waited for the doors to open so we didn't have to wait for people to leave. This was the day after Valentine's. They were out of most of the drinks we wanted to try and some featured eats, too. Didn't think I'd like the Gua Bao as much since it is shredded pork, whereas the authentic kind is either one big piece of pork belly or at most, diced pork belly. But hey the shredded worked! I guess the meats are more evenly soaking up the sauce which makes for a moist bun! Jian Bing is my second favorite. It actually had more flavor than what I had at the Queens China Town. Well done! Stuff like Ma La mozzarella cheese sticks and Spicy Tofu salad made me feel like: why bother. Dessert was probably the most surprising and pleasant: Black sesame banana pudding! While hubby was grossed out, I had more bites. Loved how nutty and not-too-sweet the concoction was. Finally I can say been there, done that, to MakFam!
Food was yummy but I would get something else next time. The noodles were a bit underwhelming but the bao buns were super yummy. The crab ragoons were a bit sweet which was different. It is a smaller place and they do a lot of takeout. Inside is pretty and very on theme
Stopped by for lunch and it did not disappoint! Ordered the Thai chicken wings and the sizzling noodles with tofu to share. The wings were fairly large and seasoned very well. Super crispy too. Absolutely loved them. The noodles were very good as well. The flavors at this place are unmatched. Cute spot, relatively small location with cool staff. Would recommend to anyone in the area!
This place never disappoints! I've gone back to back in the weekends and I just can't get enough of this place. A friend took me once and wow, the flavors of the food are devine. The portions are small but hey, I don't mind because the food is just mouth watering. The restaurant is small but there is plenty of seating. It's very bright, clean, with super speedy service. I will be going back with my husband soon! Can't wait.
Went to MAKfam with friends for a birthday dinner on a Sunday night. Surprisingly short wait time for a busy spot without a *ton* of table seating. They do have quite a few high top spots and the food came out fast. This space has a really cool vibe. It's bright, colorful, well decorated, and they were playing old hip-hop. I would definitely hangout here more. Now for appetizers - chinatown dumplings were great. rangoons and scallion pancakes were fine, simple. i personally didn't love the fancy wun tun tongs as they are a shrimp / chicken blend and it felt overpowering, but that is truly a personal preference. the sauce they are in is phenomenal though! i'll be dreaming of the mala mozz sticks forever. perfectly spiced. yum. now for the noods - i went with the tofu sizzling spicy noodles. the tofu was cooked fabulously and the dish had so much flavor. i love the texture of their noodles! the heat to this dish is an art. i added a lil extra chili oil too. highly recommend. pricing felt pretty standard. the menu is on the smaller side and pretty specific flavor profiles. overall it was an enjoyable meal and I'd be happy to return at some point.
I came to MAKfam while in Denver based on a recommendation and it did not disappoint! I came in on a Monday night around 6pm and it was very busy but was luckily able to get a table without a wait, which was not the case after eating. I came with two people which was great because I was able to sample many things and there were even leftovers! The highlights for me were definitely the Hong Kong style curry which came with chicken and white rice on the side and the fancy wun tun tong dumplings in a delicious sauce. The Chinatown dumplings were a close second and also delicious! The biggest surprise dishes were the mala mozz sticks with a Thai basil ranch (which really made the dish) and the corned beef fried rice which was better than I expected. I only tried the spicy chicken bao and it was good, but it isn't a must order IMO. The vibe was very fun, casual and service was good. They offer interesting cocktails, wine and beer as well that compliments the food well. Plus ask for extra chili sauce when ordering if you like spicy food. MAKfam is a wonderful spot and worth a visit!
FINALLY making it to MAKfam!! This place has been on our must do list ever since they earned their bib gourmand status from Michelin. Bite after bite we were blown away by the flavor of everything and we really enjoyed all of the food...except for one dish unfortunately. They stagger when they bring the food so we weren't feeling pressured to eat quickly before things would get cold. Dish after dish was amazing, until the last one. The chicken sandwich they have on the happy hour menu fell way short of expectations and did not come anywhere close to how delightful everything else was. My boys love chicken sandwiches and they both took one bite and didn't want any more even though they were still hungry. So while we can highly recommend everything else we got, we would recommend steering clear of the sandwich. It's a great place with a really cool vibe. The decorations were fun and the staff was friendly and attentive. Be aware they get really busy and I think restaurant capacity was just under 60 people, so be prepared to wait. It's worth it tho! Just give um your phone number and go do some shopping near by to kill some time. We will definitely go back!!
Very hip and fun Asian restaurant. Not a ton of GF options but def sufficient. Wish there were noodle dishes with chicken that could be GF. BUT the greens (appetizer) were delicious!! And the tofu glass noodles were available GF which were also stellar. Efficient service too. read more

It's a high energy atmosphere that's fun to bring friends who want to try Chinese food like scallion pancakes, bao, and dumplings. The cocktails are top notch. This is such a cute, cozy spot right off of Broadway. Plenty of street parking and easy to get to. We came for happy hour, which is a great menu to sample a lot of different things. Everything was amazing from the chicken sandwich to the noodles to the cheese sticks. Staff was super friendly and food was timely. read more
Tried MAKFam and ordered the fried rice, sizzling noodles, scallion pancakes, and dumplings. Everything was well-executed and flavorful. The downside is the limited variety--the menu leans heavily toward fried rice and noodle dishes, so it feels a bit repetitive if you're looking for broader options. Drinks were a strong point. I had the Tiger drink, which was solid and served in a fun tiger mug that added some personality to the experience. Overall, good food and drinks, but the menu could use more range. read more
Great place for Chinese food in Baker area of Denver from a chefs that's been working in canto food for awhile and also a James beard finalist. Dumplings: likes the flavor and sauce. A bit pricy at $2.5 each but worth a shareable treat Scallion Pancake: a bit flat to me, taste and texture wise. Mala wings: really enjoyable. Not too much mala so easy for most to enjoy but still a nice bite. Bao buns - all well done and tasty. They provide good amount of filling vs sometimes it can be bun heavy Drinks are solid. I really enjoyed this spot and would absolutely recommend it to anyone visiting! Parking is street parking, as to be expected for the city. When you walk in, you're welcomed by fun R&B throwbacks playing loud, but it didn't bother me at all as I could still hear my boyfriend the whole time. The staff was super friendly and our food came out incredibly fast..within about five minutes. My boyfriend and I shared these dishes and left totally full. Here's what we ordered, ranked from best to least Beef Stir Fry Noodles 5/5 Hands-down the winner. They look boring on the picture I posted but trust me they're more than meets the eye. These were so addicting with their bright yet rich flavor with the perfect hit of MSG. The star of the show was the noodles themselves which were just so satisfying to chew through. I'm officially an egg noodle fan now. The beef could have been a bit more tender, but overall still a solid 5/5. Shredded Pork Belly Bao 3.5/5 The bun was incredibly fluffy and the flavors were on point. My only complaint is the pork wasn't actually shredded it came cubed/ chopped which messed with the texture of the dish overall which threw me off. Still tasty overall. Chinatown Dumplings 3/5 Great size and texture, but the flavor of the dumplings was just okay which is fine cause the sauce is supposed to help with that.. but the dipping sauce is literally straight soy sauce. I was hoping for something sweeter or more layered like other dumpling spots. Scallion Pancakes 2/5 This one missed the mark for me. Hot, thin, crispy, and pretty bland with only a few bits of scallion in each slice. Again, the same plain soy sauce on the side. If the sauce had more going on, maybe it'd be worth the carbs, but I'd skip this dish next time. Very much a nothing burger. This was my first time having this dish and probably my last! Might just not be a fan of it personally. Overall, I'd definitely come back when I'm in Denver again! read more

Pretty good! Excellent service and good food. It was super popular, so we had to wait a bit, but they got us in within 30 mins and it was nice! The mushroom bao was my fav!! read more
Loved the mala wings and the spicy soup dumplings with the shrimp and chicken filling for the appetizers. The soup broth was sooooo comforting! The mala wings were crispy, crunchy, spicy goodness. For the mains, tried the chicken curry, which was pretty decent. Added a bit of hot chili sauce for the heat and it hit the spot. The spicy noodles were good too but I didn't love the chicken in it, felt a bit chewy. All in all my husband and I were stuff, it was delicious! Drinks were ok. We didn't love our cocktails, but they were standard. Service was great. Our server was really helpful in making recommendations and trying to accommodate dietary restrictions/substitutions. Food came out pretty quickly. Our table was a little cramped and there was barely any space to put the food. Felt a bit rushed to eat, wish we had more space. But otherwise the ambience is pretty nice. Had to wait about 35ish minutes without a reservation to get seated on a Friday night. Will be back! read more

I came to try their dumplings for the Denver Post Dumpling Challenge that started last week. This is my 3rd visit, the previous being in Feb 2025. They offer 2 dumpling dishes, a Chinatown with chicken & chives and the Fancy Wun Tun Tong chicken & shrimp. It came in a bowl with a spoon to pour the XO sauce over the dumplings and to slurp the broth. Nice. I added the Hong Kong Milk Tea. It was unsweetened and smooth. Next was an order of 5 Maia Wings with Coconut Cold Brew Coffee. The Maia Wings is what I have gotten before. Very spicy with the Maia seasoning served with a Thai Basil Ranch dipping sauce. The Hong Kong Milk Tea was better than the Cold Brew. A nice lunch. The men & womens restrooms are accessed thru a shared building hallway with a distinct access code. No automatic service charges. read more

After reading many great reviews for MAKfam (not to mention they are found on the Michelin guide), we headed over for lunch. Serving a Chinese-American style-cuisine, this meal hit in every way possible. They serve their dishes family-style, which is always my favorite because you can try more variety than you would if you ordered a dish on your own. Loved their scallion pancake - perfect amount of salt to compliment the dish. It's served like a quesadilla - cut up in triangles and fanned out. It's a bit smaller than I would've expected, but a good little shareable for the table. Chinatown Dumplings were my favorite. Crisp on the outside, soft and flavorful on the inside. Delish. We also got the Sizzling Spicy Noodles - I am not a fan of spice, but those at the table that were absolutely loved this dish. Great drink options. Really enjoyed their Little Tiger Drink. The Fortune Teller and Mau Tai were also unique, tasty options. It's not the typical table service here. They'll seat you, but then you order at the counter and they'll bring the food out. We were able to walk in during lunch and get seated easily. They were busy, yes, but they still had some tables available. Overall, a good choice for lunch! I've now been to MAKfam Meta Asian Kitchen twice, and I can officially say this place has moved from "really enjoyed it" to "I should probably stop pretending I won't be back again soon." Let's start with the jianbing. It's built on a scallion pancake base, which is a bit thicker than the more traditional version I'm used to, but honestly, I'm not mad about it. It's sturdy, flavorful, and generously loaded with steak. This is not a dainty, whisper-thin breakfast crepe. This is a confident, well-fed jianbing that wants you to be happy and full. The pork belly deserves its own moment. Actually, maybe a standing ovation. It's incredibly tender, deeply flavorful, and clearly treated with care. I had it in the spicy noodles and again in a bao bun, and both times it was excellent. Rich without being heavy, indulgent without tipping into too much. Pork belly doing exactly what pork belly is supposed to do. Now let's talk about the mala wings. These wings are spectacular. Like, "what every chicken wing dreams of becoming when it grows up" spectacular. Crispy, bold, numbing in all the right ways, and dangerously addictive. If you order one thing here, make it these. If you don't order these, I gently question your life choices. I also really appreciate MAKfam's unapologetic embrace of MSG. No fear, no fuss, just smart, thoughtful use of an ingredient that exists to make food delicious. And guess what? It works. Everything is savory, balanced, and satisfying without feeling overdone. Bottom line: this is a genuinely fun place to eat. The food has personality, confidence, and heart. From an Asian fusion perspective, it absolutely delivers, and it's easy to see why they've earned their Michelin mention. read more

As someone who lives in a city full of Asian food I probably am more critical when it comes to judging Asian food. However, it received bib gourmand recognition so naturally I was quite curious about it. We were also craving Asian food after a few days in the mountains. We shared quite a few items including the mala wings, sizzling noodles, baos, jian bing. The wings were too salty and the breading was very heavy. The noodles also pretty much only had a mala/sichuan flavor. The jian bing and baos were also just average. Overall, I was hoping to be surprised and impressed because these are all items that I love but unfortunately it didn't live up to the hype for us. read more

Don't need to come here. My boyfriend and I have heard such good things about this restaurant and I was excited to bring him here for his birthday. Literally left after appetizers and didn't stay for dinner. We got the wings, which everyone raved about, and the scallion pancakes. The wings were nothing special, and the scallion pancakes were completely the wrong consistency. This is simply Americanized Chinese food, nothing is authentic. If you're looking for actual Chinese cuisine, this is sadly not it. read more
Delicious. They did say the serving were family size, but if you're a hungry boy like me, they're just the perfect amount of a single meal. The Sizzling Spicy Noodles were great. Wonderfully aromatic with some of the most juicy and tender pork belly. It was not as spicy as I expected it to be, but it did have a nice heat to it. So if your spice tolerance is low then this might be tolerable for you. You can pay for extra chili sauce on the side - if you like some kick like me, then I highly recommend this. MakFam is worth the hype they have been getting. The drinks and food was delicious! My friends and I got the bao buns, beef stir fry noodles, Chinatown dumplings and málà wings to share. My favorite was the shredded pork belly bo bun and the beef stir fry noodles. The bun was soft and pillowy and the pork belly was well seasoned and went well with the pickled onion on top. I loved the chewiness of the noodles and how thin they were. I wished though there was more beef in the dish because it was so good. All in all, I really liked the food, the decor, drinks and service. Would definitely recommend. PS: Do be prepared to wait a while as this spot was packed when we were there. read more
As someone who was visiting Denver, this place is MUST in my books. I absolutely loved and think about it everyday! A fan favorite ofc bc this place was packed with a waitlist. They do have a waitlist online that you can join so no worries bc waiting is optional. The space is super cute and the vibes are immaculate. The music was fun and we overall had a great time. You order at the front so no waiting for someone to come get your order and the food arrives fairly quickly. We ordered the tofu sizzling spicy noodles, marinated shiitake bao, shrimp & broccoli glass noodles & the mala mozz sticks. I couldn't recommend each item enough. They all had amazing flavor and unfortunately when we went they were closed for three days otherwise we would have gone again. Finally got around to trying this place with the family. The fancy wun tun tong dumplings were a hit with everyone. The broth was fabulous. We soaked up every last drop with the scallion pancakes. I highly recommend that combo so you can enjoy the broth with something other than a spoon. The corned beef fried rice is also the kind of magic that I would come up with in my own kitchen. And I personally think that's a compliment. That was my favorite dish. The beef stir fry noodles were very mid compared to the other dishes. They were dry and fairly tasteless. My son also tried one of the sandwiches, which he enjoyed very much. We'll definitely be back. That corned beef fried rice is calling out to my soul. read more
