A year later and a couple stars has to come off. The Boeuf Bourguignon was much more fatty this time around - when you get only a scant few pieces of meat then two of them shouldn't be 75% fat. The service was not nearly as good either. We waited for a server for about 15 minutes, then my wife had her drink within 5 minutes of that and mine arrived 10 minutes later. We ordered wine with dinner, but they felt it was ideal to serve us dinner after only about 15 minutes on our drinks, so we had top shelf drinks watering down while we drank the wine with dinner, most restaurants are savvy enough to watch and not prep your food until you've gotten over half your drink. And, while they can't do anything about parking, the parking situation is pretty horrible there and if you add that to food quality slipping and service slipping it makes a return visit less likely. read more

I chose this cute little place for my birthday brunch yesterday and I was not disappointed! Honestly, I am shocked I've not been here sooner. Knowing that 75% of the menu is crepes, I had to get a crepe. I went with the Crab Benedict Crepe and it was SO GOOD! From my first bite I was instantly regretting that I agreed to share with Hubs. He ordered the French Dip which I was actually pretty excited about as well and it was yummy too- but I'd go for the crepe again and again! Our little had the pancakes and she was disappointed because they weren't like "normal pancakes" but Hubs and I both thought they were amazing. Ambience: located at the very busy intersection of Alameda and Pennsylvania, this place has surprising charm and a nice outdoor patio that was in the shade on this hot summer evening. Inside was likewise pleasant and comfortable. Service: Airida did a good job for us. Food: Liked the baguette, the happy hour with reduced pricing on cocktails, wine by the bottle (50% off) and mussels. Crepes have never been a big favorite of ours, but these were good and comprised more than half of the menu. Broccolini just ok. Nice French restaurant that we just discovered due to our friends who told us this is one of their favorite spots in the area. Relatively good value compared to other French restaurants, which tend to charge a premium. Try to arrive no later than 530PM to take advantage of Happy hour pricing (4-6PM). read more

We've come here more times than I can count as it's one of my mom's favorite restaurants. We usually come for brunch, but have come for dinner a few times. I guess I'd give 4 stars for brunch and then the 3 stars is more for dinner service. The space is cute and the staff is always friendly. My mom loves the brunch crepes. I've gotten the mussels and I almost always get the pate maison. All have been good. My issues now arise with dinner. My mom and I came once and both got the steak au poivre. My mom's wasn't cooked to her liking and she mentioned it to the server. The server apologized. That was it. For $43, I want you to take it back and redo it. We then went back for dinner again, this time I guess we were there for too long and asked to move to the bar. We were about to order dessert and more drinks, but that's fine. I've been asked to move to the bar before and given a cheap glass of bubbles which is more than enough to make me happy to move. The server who asked us to move assured us that she would take great care of us at the bar. Great! So we move, and nothing. I asked if we could get some bevvies for our move, to which we were told no, they can't do that. Check Open Table, see our lifetime spend there... but cool. Then my mom asked to talk to a manager, to which, of course she says, "I'm the manager". Naturally. I know the markup on booze at restaurants is a min 30% and you can't pour us some cheap bubbles that you are more than happy to use for bottomless mimosas? Neat. I truthfully don't love this place or its sister La Merise, but I know I'm in the minority. Again, we come because my mom loves it. Sadly, I think it'll take at least one more disappointing visit before she finally gives it up. read more

This is my most favorite local place, hands down. I come here often for the delightful food, calming ambiance, super friendly staff, and naturally, the bottomless mimosas. I can get a table by myself and work on my computer, come for dinner as a date with my husband, or brave bringing the little ones out for brunch. Whether you're eating inside or outside (the patio is pup-friendly), it's, cozy, and non-pretentious, yet fancy, beautiful, super clean, and just a wonderful time. The food is a fun mixture of French cuisine with a touch of something different (ruben crepe for example.) You can make a reservation online or just walk in. We had a delicious brunch here! This review is for my fellow gluten free diners. They can use gluten free batter for the crepes, and many other menu items are gf or can be modified. I had the chef's omelette which was the best omelette I've had in a long time. My non-gf partner enjoyed his eggs benedict crepe a ton as well. There's plenty of dessert options. We tried the chocolate mousse and it was a sizable portion & delicious. Needless to say, we left feeling satisfied and full! I didn't have any reaction to the food afterwards. I am not celiac so I didn't ask about cross contamination procedures, so I would make sure to call ahead and inquire about that. This spot is owned by the same folks who own La Merise in North Cherry Creek. The menus are very similar at both locations, except that Bon Ami offers a much larger selection of crêpes. The space is very pretty with a beautiful, private outdoor patio that is quite large. There's also a nice bar with some table seating inside the restaurant and an L-shaped dining area with a large, open kitchen. The staff is very friendly, efficient, and helpful. They are doing a good job with sanitation, masks, and social distancing, given the current virus situation. The patio is completely open air and provides a very safe space to dine. There are also lots of umbrellas and a huge tree to provide shade. Take out is available. The food here is fantastic. I've had a lot of mediocre to terrible crêpes around Denver. Bon Ami redeems the crêpe for me. My friends and I have now tried four different crêpes (out of the list of 18 choices!). They were all huge, beautiful, absolutely delicious, and very filling. All of the ingredients were super fresh and meticulously prepared. Bon Ami definitely reinvents my idea of what a crêpe can be. I also have tried the onion soup and the house-made pâté. Classical French onion soup is laborious to prepare, especially with the quirks of Denver's altitude. This really hit the spot for me: deeply-flavored, wonderfully redolent of onion, topped with perfectly melted cheese, and with just the right amount of individual croutons. This made the soup much less of a struggle than using the traditional, single large crouton. The pâté was a chicken liver terrine with black truffle. It came with a nice pile of crostini, three fat cornichons, and a spicy Dijon mustard. This was definitely one of the best pâtés I've encountered in a long time. Very smooth, flavorful, and tasty. I also received a very generous portion, so my usual limitless capacity for "chopped liver" was fully sated. I've made two visits to Bon Ami over the past three weeks. My friends and I have been very satisfied with each visit. I strongly recommend that you try it too. read more

I came for brunch before flying to Europe later today for a 16 day vacation. Thank goodness I made a reservation thru OpenTable. They had a full house and walk-in's only had the bar as an option. Their patio was full. I started with the seafood chowder with croutons. Very good. I then got the Crab Benedict crepe and a glass of Rhone Valley Campuget 2021 rose. First of all, the service is top notch - very professional. Second, the atmosphere is quaint and cozy, not that far off from a Paris bistro (love the bottle of water at the table!). Love how quaint this place is! Parking can be challenging but well worth it! The inside is fun, light and welcoming that reminds me of France. The steak frites was awesome! The steak was perfectly cooked and just enough at 6 ounces. The only thing that I didn't want to share were the mussels in white sauce...outstanding. It was nice the the menu was varied with more traditional french food that's more pricey and affordable unique crepes. We enjoyed a French onion soup that very cheesy although a touch sour and the daily special butternut squash soup. Both quite good. We also ordered a beef stroganoff crepe and the prosciutto brie crepe. The beef one was incredible. He prosciutto crepe was a bit too rich for my taste as it had both warmed melted brie and hollandaise sauce smothered inside and outside of it. Mussels were good, clean and not grimey at all. We asked for 2 extra baskets of bread to soak up the sauce. Escargot came out sizzling and piping hot, submerged in sauce. This place is definitely a hidden gem. We sat on the patio on a lovely day for brunch. We didn't have a reservation but were able to get a table at around 9am on a Sunday morning. I would recommend making a rezzy. I ordered the Crab Benedict crepe and it was freaking delicious. It's been a while since I've had a delicious crepe and I enjoyed every last bite. It was savory, rich, and flavorful. I also have to mention that they give you bread on the table that is so crusty and delicious as well. I think I ate like 3 pieces before the crepe arrived. I also ordered a bloody mary that was yummy. Service was wonderful. I highly recommend giving this place a try on your next brunch outing!
