I recently found out I'm lactose and it's turned my world upside down. I was SO happy they had an almond milk option!!! The honey lavender latte is soo delicious I'd love to try it cold too! The girlies helped with recommendations and it came out so quickly. You can definitely hangout here, study or play games. Definitely recommend!

I would definitely recommend this place for the ambience, appropriate mood music and good taste with intentional interior. If you are lucky there are at least two chairs with the soft tushy cushions but the rest are the hard wooden hemorrhoid haters but at least it's someplace to sit. The personnel were nice people and would take and make your order promptly and without a frown. My cappuccino was good as well as my son's green mocha Hulk monster or whatever he had but the takeaway here for me is they need to take that cheese and tomato soup off the menu! Horrendous as you can see in a picture, it does not do the picture justice. It's just toasted bread with cheese slapped in the middle of it and some semi water down Tomatoes Campbell Soup. It's okay who goes to a coffee shop just to order comfort food like that? Well I mistakenly thought maybe somebody in the family had a secret recipe that they could surprise and unsuspecting customer but not this one my friend not this one. Parking lot is ample and it sits in the strip center of the Asian Town off of 99 and I-10.

Go to coffee spot in Katy Asia Town. Only wish is they would open earlier during the day so I would be able to grab the drinks on the way to my morning commute. All coffees are extremely flavorful on their lattes. Their snacks have always been tasty as well. In terms of fresh brands for espresso machines, the beans are a bit bitter to my liking and I would prefer notes with nuts and chocolate opposed to acidic flavors.

My best friend and I came to visit for the first time with our kids for a blind box pop up event. I enjoy events like these when they are hosted at coffee shops. They are located in a complex in Katy Asia Town area which has plenty of parking. There was a variety of sitting areas for small or big groups. The staff was friendly & didn't rush us when I had to take time to look at the menu and pastry display. We both got themed drinks, sparkling blueberry lavender lemonade & coconut cold brew with coco cold foam with variety of macarons. Both drinks were really good and the macarons were slightly hard since we rushed to eat them without thawing but they were very tasty! The decor was fun to look through especially the coffee cups on the display! The pop up event was very cute and we stayed for about an hour. Hope to check this cafe out again!

The only coffee place that piqued my interest in the Katy area when I was doing my research. Cute & cozy but a bit loud; not the best place if you want to take an online meeting. They do have plenty of outlets if you plan on staying a while. Their 12 SPECIALTY LATTES with unique names & flavorings all sound amazing. The SEASONAL ones will change out so it gives you an excuse to come back often to see what new ones they have. You can add CBD for an extra $3, alternative milk 0.99, & size upgrade for 0.50 - TOFFEE MOON: sea salt caramel toffee, buttermmon, & bourbon maple make for a creamy robust drink. - VIOLET MOON: one of the seasonal lattes, with lavender, buttermmon, & oat milk. Was a little sweet for my preference but with an extra shot it would be perfect. I'm pretty sure you can also request it a little less sweet. They have a bookcase of MANGA & novels that you can read while dining in. They also have a couple of board games. They do serve food & pastries for you to snack on.

This is a great coffee shop!! The staff was incredibly friendly!! I got an iced chai latte with oat milk and a butter croissant warmed up. The chai was DELICIOUS!!! I haven't had a chai that good in a while, so whoever made it shout out to you! The butter croissant was also really flaky and had a good butter taste so I really enjoyed it. There were lots of tables for working or meeting with friends. It was kinda chilly so bring a jacket. If I'm ever in Katy, I will 100% stop at this shop :)

Nice ambiance with books, manga, and board games. Also a selection of pins and handmade charms for sale. Got the Salty Sweetie and the French Toast Latte to drink and a buttered croissant and a ham and cheese pocket. Came out very quick ~5 minutes. The salty sweetie wasn't as sweet as I would've liked, but the French toast latte was very good! Both of the pastries we got were both alright, but honestly tasted the same as you can get from any other shop. The barrista was also very nice! The only thing I felt that was special about this coffee shop was the small selection of books and manga they had. If you want to come and read manga while you get some coffee I'd recommend it, other than that I'd say it's a pretty average experience.

I don't know how, but they completely forgot our order. I noticed after we placed our order, everyone who came in after us got their drink already. When I asked the girl she gasped in shock, so they clearly forgot. We waited about 20 min for drinks when it wasn't busy. I got the iced honey lavender latte. It was ok and I wouldn't be back to this coffee shop. There are too many other good boba/coffee shops in the area.

The Toffee Moon Latte with oat milk was so good yesterday that I had to comeback the next day! It did not disappoint! Lava Coffee has a nice area for work, relaxing vibe, and some pretty cool baristas. I will certainly be back.

So I have been coming to this cafe for about 5 months now. I always loved the atmosphere, drinks and food however, an incident today has made me extremely upset. My friend and I ordered 3 drinks ( one extra for our friend) 2 house sandwiches and one avocado toast. While waiting for our sandwiches we heard one of the employees yell ( I also saw the employee but I won't call her out ) " 3 SANDWICHES WHO THE F ORDERS 3 SANDWICHES" and make a fuss. I guess another customer had ordered a sandwich but we only ordered two. As someone who has also worked 5 years in retail I understand the annoyance of sometimes doing your job. However do not make it aware to your customers !! I'm sorry it was inconvenience for you to do your job. I like this place but I won't be coming here again because now I feel like an inconvenience. Great place to study tho if you only order a drink

I adore this place! It's a cute cafe located in Katy Asian Town that unfortunately closes a little early, but if you make it in time it's so worth it. They have books you can read, games you can play and nice seating so you can relax and hang out with friends. I LOVE their butter beer latte and their baked goods. I also tried this season valentines drink they designed so well that was also delicious. Make sure you ask for your drink in a cup, otherwise it will be in a to go cup by default. My friends also got a blueberry tea that was delicious. read more

When you first enter, you get the strong aroma of coffee. They have a variety of drinks to order on the menu. I had the latte and added lavender. It was a bit sweet but definitely could taste the lavender flavor. The cup sleeves are so cute and Halloween themed. I saved it! They also have Halloween themed drinks! My mom got the cold brew with lavender, and she liked it. I didn't really get any desserts since I had some before I came, but definitely need to try the next time. Place is very clean, quiet, cozy and warm. Good for people to study or chill. read more

Favorite place to go for Saturday morning coffee date. The baristas are always so nice and welcoming. I highly recommend the Churro Churro (a previous seasonal drink, but they always graciously make it) with oat milk and the almond danish. read more

Great coffee shop with various options. I'm a regular latte person but my family loves the honey and lavender options. The pasties they have are excellent as well. Only drawback is since it's great sometimes you'll have to wait a little for drinks. read more

I was over charge when I got there. I got a lavender coffee with an extra shot. Since they did were not able to add an extra shot. They just went ahead and charge me for another drink!! I felt like it should've been in the house since they were having difficulty bc by charging me not another drink I end up paying for more than the extra shot. The lavender latte was not good. It had a sour taste to it. I'm sure there is other drinks that are extremely good there but it's over priced so I won't be returning. read more

My friend and I are from the Houston area so did a mini road trip to Katy yesterday and found Lava Coffee to study at. It was our first time here and inside was soo cute! The decor was soo pretty! And I love the bookshelves that had all the books and manga books. A plus on that because both my friend and I are anime fans. :) the staffs were super friendly. I got the iced honey lavender latte and shared the buttercream cheesecake with my friend. The honey lavender latte was really good! It hit the spot! I loved it! :D I also saw they had a lavender frappe on their menu so can't wait to come back here again! Definitely coming here to study. read more

My first time stopping at this place and from the moment I walked in I could tell that it's a peaceful and calming coffee shop. Honestly has that library quite vibe going on with soft mellow music. Just the right atmosphere going on. They have a variety of food options but only a small selection of hand crafted items. The other items in the case are pastries and pre made food options. I went for the hand crafted double decker and let me tell you that's a Texas size meal. Also ordered the cortado and the Campfire with extra shots to make sure I tasted the bean and not the sweetness. Was definitely impressed. Recommend for working or study as it's not loud and you can hear yourself thinking. read more

Super friendly service again, and the environment is overall just very relaxing. The perfect spot to get some work done. SO GOOD! I stumbled upon this place while driving out of Katy China town and walked in not expecting anything special, but was pleasantly surprised. The two baristas behind the counter were very friendly and informative, which is hard to find nowadays tbh. The alternative milks they have are almond, oat, soy, (& coconut?). I wish this place was closer to my side of town because it would be an ideal study spot (lots of outlets and seating). Coffee: iced vanilla latte w/ oat milk was one of the best I've had (I've tried a lot) Pastries: did not get to try but the prices seemed fair/cheap compared to other coffee shops. ($2 for. HUGE muffin) If I'm ever in the area I'll definitely stop by again. read more

I found this new coffee shop in Katy. The staff is super nice and welcoming. The place gives a very relaxing vibe. I ordered the Hazel Nut Latte, and the coffee is very fragrant. You can actually taste the coffee beans along with the hazel nut flavor, unlike most places are just syrup and milk. Lava Coffee most definitely satisfy my coffee fix as an avid coffee enthusiast, and is now one of my favorite shops. This place is a must go-to for coffee lovers. read more

1st time visiting this place, as i was out of coffee at home and needed a cup to get my morning started. The inside is super cute, liked how calm of an atmosphere there was friendly staff, and super cute decor. I asked what she suggested since it was my first time there and i said i usually do a white chocolate mocha hot as hell coffee and she recommended the Domino coffee or they could make me a white chocolate mocha, i decided to try something new and went with the domino. Also got a cinnamon roll as it was in their display case. I originally wanted a cheese danish but they didnt have it. Coffee and pastry were quickly handed out which was nice. I person didnt like the coffee it was to bitter for my taste and left an unpleasant taste afterwards so definitely won't be ordering that coffee again, and ill be leery about getting a coffee, but am willing to try something else to see if i can find something to my liking, however that cinnamon roll was super delicious it wasn't like your traditional cinnamon roll doughy tasting it had more of a croissant taste to it but soo good big too. Payed about 10 for drink and pastry. read more

If you're looking for a casual coffee place with a soft industrial vibe, this is it. Fantastic service, terrific latte and chai, and tasty bakery treats make this a good choice to meet friends or even study. Easy access to I-10 and 99 make this a convenient place to stop, as well. I just wish they were open later in the evening, at least on weekends. read more

I've been here 5 times. 4 out of 5 times I have gotten extremely sick after drinking their Paris Cafe drink. All 4 times, I've made sure to ask the barista that If I substitute for soy milk, that the drink will be dairy free. I also mention that i have a dairy allergy everytime. All 4 times, each barista said it would be dairy free, yet I got really sick and reacted each time. The 5th time I went, I was even more persistent about asking if they were sure the drink is dairy free and the barista said "yes it's dairy free, the powder is like MILK tea", which is completely dairy. I informed her that milk tea powder is dairy so she finally checked the ingredients in the powder but still did not tell me for sure if it had dairy. The other barista suggested "it probably does" contain dairy. Please train your employees on the ingredients in your drinks.. it's as simple as just looking at the ingredients listed. Allergies can mean life or death for some people! read more

A great and cute place to grab some good coffee and chat with friends or get some work done, which is what I was doing. I appreciate the extra touches in decor and the drinkware (nice mugs and glasses instead of paper when dining in). There was a bit of wanting in the food that they offer, but I'm giving them a pass because it looks like they just opened their doors, and they have plenty of space for more, so looks like they're just trying to get it started up. read more

This coffee shop is excellent! I had one of the specialty lattes, dark amethyst. The coffee comes out at just the right temperature to begin drinking right away. I've been searching for a decent coffee shop in the Katy Area to no avail, until finally discovering Lava. But Lava is not just decent, it's GOOD. They serve Amaya and the default espresso is the Temporada blend (same as Catalina and many other inner loop cafes). I got a double espresso and was pleasantly surprised at how GREAT the espresso was. It's rare to find a decent espresso within 610, let alone Katy. That gets 5 stars alone. Temporada is always good, but also kudos to whoever dialed it in and pulled the shot. I've been to many mediocre cafes and many great ones in Houston (Catalina, Southside, Retrospect etc); Lava definitely falls into the great category. I don't think they offer pour over yet, but definitely grab an espresso (I'm sure the milk drinks are great too). Coffee aside, the owner is fantastic and friendly. She's always enthusiastic to chat about their current coffee offerings. I like to think I had a hand in lobbying Lava to carry Amaya haha, they carried Oak Cliff (Dallas roaster) in the past which was also decent. Oh whoops coffee nerd again; the layout is very spacious and there are outlets. Definitely recommend you stop by Lava if you're looking for a coffee shop in the Katy area. read more
