Recommend for sweet tooths. -Nice and quiet store, relatively clean -Like the nice variety on the menu. Cons -I didn't particularly like the pandan matcha. It wasn't very flavorful to me. Perhaps the flavor is with the syrup and I had requested half sweet. I wouldn't get it again. -My friend got the banana matcha, and she said it was ok and could do better with the banana flavor and cream. -The self-checkouts can be difficult to get things scan properly. -There seems to be a lot of ads for new items, but it's not on the menu. read more

I have not had milk tea in so long and was about to walk by and get a regular coffee, but so glad I stopped in! I was just in town for the weekend for a friend's baby shower and I swear they have some great places to eat and drink in this area. Very cute little spot and most everything is as usual credit card base and touch screens. I was going to go to the counter but decided to go to the touch screen so I could browse through the menu. I hate when I'm at a new place and don't know what I want gives me anxiety...lol So I got the limited horchata milk tea 50% sweet and a small order of karaaga (spelled wrong I'm sure) chicken and when I tell you the chicken came out popping hot! Wow so good! Even at 50% the milk tea was not too sweet so I might could have went up to maybe 75% or they do have the option to use a sugar free substitute. So that's a great option only if it's stevia..lol. I can't stand Splenda just gross.. When I visit Katy I will definitely stop by again and try a few other items. Service was quick and friendly! With Katy Asian Town booming with new restaurants and boba shops, it can feel overwhelming to find the tastiest spots. Tastea opened earlier this year, and I'm so glad I finally discovered it, it's already made its way onto my favorites list. I've only visited a couple of times so far, but both experiences have been really enjoyable. I've tried: Coconut Matcha Smoothie with boba (5/5)- The boba itself was fresh and chewy, and the coconut blended beautifully with the matcha. On my first visit, one of the employees gave me a heads-up that their drinks typically come on the sweeter side and recommended I adjust the sugar level. Great advice because it ended up being perfectly balanced. Strawberry Matcha with coconut milk (4/5) - This one was delicious too! The coconut milk really rounded out the earthiness of the matcha, and while I don't expect these drinks to give me a big caffeine boost, they were both tasty and refreshing treats. On the savory side, I also tried the chili cheese fries. The "chili cheese" is actually a seasoning, but it surprisingly tasted *just* like classic chili cheese. And the ranch? Pretty solid, too. All fried comes a seasoning and dip of your choice. The space is clean, welcoming, and has plenty of seating. I noticed they have Wi-Fi, so I could definitely see myself coming back to do a bit of work here while sipping on a drink. Parking is also a breeze as the shop is located in a strip center, and I've never had trouble finding a spot here (unlike some other areas of Katy Asian Town where parking can get tricky). Finally, the staff deserves a shoutout, they were so kind and helpful, greeting me when I walked in and again when I left. Their recommendations really made my visits better, and it's clear they care about making sure customers enjoy their drinks (they have a satisfaction notice so if your drink isn't as expected, speak up). Overall, I had a great experience, and I'm already looking forward to coming back to try more drinks and snacks. Another solid boba spot in Katy Asian Town. It's fairly new. The place is on the smaller side but enough seating if it's not too busy. It's clean and I like the cute signs they have up. Service: The guy who took our order when we first arrived was very nice. We had another order to place on our way out to take back to my brother and there was a lady who was at the front that time and she wasn't super friendly. She redirected us to order at the kiosk which was fine. I understand if that's more efficient especially since it seemed like they were short staffed. But she just gave off the vibe that she was annoyed and didn't really wanna be there. It was a good amount of customers there and only like 2 people working at a time so they seem like they were struggling a bit to keep up. Drinks: I got the avocado shake but it tasted more like milk than anything else. It was okay. Avocado shakes are one of the things on my go to list when I go to boba places if it's available so I'm kinda particular about it. It was okay but I probably wouldn't get it again. There were other drinks I wanted to try too so I'll probably try something else next time. My husband got the yummy gummy. He said he liked it and that it was good. I tasted it and thought it was pretty good too. I like the fruit pieces that they include. Food: We got fries, calamari, and chicken. Fries were great. Nicely seasoned and crispy. The flavor on the chicken was good but the pieces were really small. We've had chicken karaage many times and while I'm aware that it should be small pieces, it's as if the pieces we got were like the bottom batch including the portion. It was really small. It didn't match the display of the amount you get for that size. Calamari was okay. Decent portion size. In general, the food is a bit overpriced especially for the chicken and calamari. I don't think it's worth it for what you get. I would come here again and try some of their other drinks. I'd skip the food and avocado shake next time. I recently saw Tastea pop up on social media and thought it looked good. Shortly after, a friend told me about this new spot in Katy Asia Town and bragged it up. That was my confirmation to check it out for myself. Tastea is a popular franchise out of California and it has made it's way to Texas. Located in a shopping strip, there was plenty of parking. I imagine at peak times, you may have a harder time parking close as the strip is full of other. I don't find myself in Katy Asia Town often, but when I'm in the area, I'm stopping for food and boba. This place got both. I went during their grand opening weekend so it was a tad bit busy, but the staff handled it with ease. By the time I ordered, I was able to find a spot to sit without any issues. Customer service was great. The owners and management were making sure everything was good as well. I had lunch plans later so I wanted a drink and a light snack to hold me over. Their menu has lots of options from teas, milk teas, coffee, smoothies, slushies and some food items. As per usual, I was indecisive so I let the young man working the counter pick my whole order. He said the Matcha Thai Milk Tea was the move along with the popular Karate Chicken. I added boba to my drink and requested my chicken spicy. The chicken goes up to a level 5, I went with 4. I've never had a Thai tea with matcha. It came out looking really pretty. Once I snapped my pics, I mixed the layers and found the drink to be very delicious. The flavor went well together. The boba was the perfect consistency and a good addition in my opinion. The chicken looked good and was a generous portion. The spice level didn't hit me right away, but it was one of those sneaky heat levels that lets you know you're eating something spicy without hurting you. It was a solid choice as well. Tired of the same ole tea spots. This new place is from Cali and it's got our attention. We ordered the passionfruit black tea and it was super good, tons of parking and great service. Love that they use cane sugar instead of regular sugar, totally don't feel the sugar drag that I usually get after drinking boba and the food was amazing especially the spuddies. INCREDIBLE INCREDIBLE!! I got the 20 OZ strawberry matcha with oat milk (half sweet and less ice) and the regular size karate chicken. The strawberry matcha was pretty sweet, so I'd recommend lowering the sweetness level. I don't like my drinks being too sweet, so that is just my own personal preference. The flavor is sooooo good!! The strawberry puree has a very bright and fresh flavor NO ARTIFICIAL FLAVOR! I like my matcha very strong, so I asked for extra matcha and they were very accommodating. They have a smile guarantee, meaning if you aren't happy with your drink they will remake it or refund you, which I think is awesome! The karate chicken was BURSTING WITH FLAVOR. They used white meat, as opposed to dark meat, so it is a little bit more expensive because of that but it's well worth the price!! It's crispy and juicy and flavorful. The service is very nice too!! They're very open to answering all your questions and offering recommendations. The manager is super sweet, shout out to her!! The ambiance is very nice too. The music isn't too loud and the seating area is nice and comfortable. There is also a self ordering kiosk on the side to make ordering easier (or if you're feeling shy).
