This was my first time at this location. The service was great the food was soo good my kids and I love the spam and bacon avacado masubi rolls! I love ordering the iced kalua latte but at this location I decided to switch it up and get the kalua cortado was so good! Not to sweet just a perfect balance of everything. What I really like about this specific location is they have they own coffee ground mill inside so it was cool to see. Unlike the Kona Reserve locations popping up around town, the Kona Roastery is the lab where many of the beans are roasted. It also happens to be one of my favorite places to sit down for a little caffeine, a little snack, and lots of laptop / WiFi action. There is plenty of parking and the decor is most definitely on point. For a pseudo flagship roastery location, it still 100% has the relaxing cafe vibe and it's a space that is ideal for meetings or a little downtime to fill the daytime void. Their food items are only available till 2pm daily. They include a lot of Hawaiian specialties such as nice variety of musibis ($4-5 each), pastries, bagels, and croissant sandwiches. Their gelato is a special treat for the warmer weather days and not something I'd expect to find at any cafe. Speaking of WiFi, it's super fast. It's the kind of speed where the HD rarely lags and 4K is more than a reality. This alone makes it extremely appealing to work from here and I always end up spending more time than I would have allotted here. As for the roastery itself, it's an interesting space that is situated in the middle of the room. While most of the time it's remained empty, it is always a treat whenever there is someone working to give folks a behind the scenes (#1) look at some of the work they do. This coffee shop is a true gem, serving as the ultimate study and work haven. You can expect a positive experience thanks to the friendly and accommodating staff. They've got an a great coffee menu with refreshing smoothie options too. But some of their Signature drinks are a bit too sweet for my taste, so I always ask for less sweetness. My favorite is the Kailula Latte with oat milk and 50% sweetness. The place is perfect for working, with its bright and airy space and lots of seating. Discovered a new remote work gem I stumbled upon this place while looking for new spots to work remotely and I'm so glad I did. There's plenty of seating, much more than most coffee spots I usually visit. The greenery and ambiance create such a calm, inviting vibe. The staff were super friendly and welcoming. They had some lattes that we had to ask about because we weren't sure what was in them. My husband tried the Shakelatto with cream. He said it was a very strong coffee flavor. I tried it and it was too strong for me. I tried the Kalie latte. It sounded good - cinnamon bun, brown sugar and vanilla. It was too sweet for me. Maybe half the pumps of syrup needed. Very confused on why this has a five star rating nearly. Ordered a flat white to go and it took about 20 minutes at 10 AM on a Saturday morning. The flat white had such a subtle flavor. You can't even taste the coffee and they used way too much oat milk. Their proportions are incorrect for what a flat white should be. There was absolutely no care put into the coffee itself. My husband ordered a latte and there was no care into the latte art or the way that the milk was steamed. There are much better coffee shop options in the area. read more

First impression walking in, I thought the place was really cute! I really liked the plants that they had! It was pretty quiet, lots of other customers doing work or chatting amongst themselves. The barista recommended we try the Kailua and Aloha Lattes off the specialty menu that's what we got. Both of the lattes were pretty good! The Kailua was like a sweet oat milk cinnamon latte and the Aloha one was pretty close to a white mocha. This coffee shop was pretty quiet and chill so I'd really recommend if you want a nice place to go and do work or study! We didn't get a chance to try any of the other things they offered but we definitely wanna come back and try some of the musubi and the smoothies! read more

Hawaii cafe in Katy? Yes please! I love how airy the vibe is with their high ceilings. Great place to relax, hang out with family/friends, study, coffee/tea date, etc. is it quiet? No. Moderate voice volume where you can still focus. I specifically enjoyed their Kona Club sandwich. Aloha latte was good but I wish they would indicate what coffee/expresso has tree-nuts for those with tree-nut allergies to stay away from on the main menu on the wall or at least on their website. Vietnamese iced coffee was meh. I can taste it but it wasn't done correctly. They honestly need to perfect it or just take it off the menu. Service is always friendly. I saw an older lady giving one of the girls a hard time about a ceramic mug cup vs to-go cups but they handle the situation in a friendly matter. This is a large coffee shop that rivals Starbucks. They not only have coffees and teas but also musubi, gelato, aloha breakfast sandwiches and lunch sandwiches, and of course, pastries. I ordered the cocomon, which has coconut syrup and coconut milk, and it was pretty damn good. I really enjoyed the interior here as it's well designed. Lavender matcha oatmilk latte - 10/10 - $8 - Absolutely loved both the matcha and lavender flavors in this. I got it with half lavender and it was a perfect amount. The oatmilk made the drink creamier. This spot has lots of seating, great for doing work or studying! I can't believe I waited so long to try this coffee shop. I like that it's an authentically Hawaiian vibe and actually had some sandwiches with spam. But the real surprise was how good the coffee tasted. We stopped in for a quick bite so I tried the egg /cheese with avocado breakfast sandwich, which was tasty. The real star was the honey lavender cappuccino. This is so delicious and it has a thin dusting of raw sugar and cinnamon. I can't get the flavors out of my head. It's so good! Interesting one of our friends that was with us is from Hawaii so she was so taken aback over the authentic Kona coffee flavor. This is a must try if you're in the area. The atmosphere has a nice quaint vibe and good for a quick date with friends or parents meet up for coffee to take a break from the kiddos, although I'm sure they're welcome. If you want the coffee shop vibes, this is the place to go. If you are looking for a good cup of coffee, you may or may not want to go here. The staff was nice overall, and they bring the coffee to you which is not something you see everyday, so I give them credit for that for sure. My girlfriend got the Iced Cocomon which was ~okay~ and I got the Iced Caramel Macchiato which was good! I was disappointed when my first drink of choice was not available, which was the Reserve Nitro.... But that day specificaly, there were out of a lot of stuff! Kona is always reliable for a great coffee. It is usually pretty busy so might be hard to find a table. If you go here to study try to get a table near a wall so that you have access to outlets, the tables in the middle do not have outlets. Also a great place to catch up with friends. They have a good selection of food which is served until 2pm while pastries are available during all hours. We picked up a couple tasty coffee drinks. When I try a "new to me" coffee spot I order my go to drink, a hot cappuccino with two splendas....done to perfection here. My wife's go to drink is usually a frozen blended concoction....also done very well, I know because I must sample everything to give an honest review, right?! I love great roasted whole coffee beans I can grind at my house whenever I want, so I picked up a bag of Kona black sand signature blend. The first batch I ground made a very nice cup of jo. The only down side to these beans is there's no roast date on the bags. The roastery is on the premises and you can see everything through a big window, I like that. read more

Said I was highly allergic to nuts and the poorly trained staff proceeded to give me a blueberry muffin, I took a bite and immediately was disappointed to find peanuts inside. If someone says they have a nut allergy and orders a blueberry muffin maybe mention it has nuts. ( luckily I had my EpiPen on me) Service was bad and bathrooms were unsanitary. My wife and I are visiting the area and we wanted something other than starbucks. Super happy we found Kona Roastery. The interior was very pretty with lots of plant life and decorations hanging from the roof and the coffee was great. My wife had the latte and I had the nitro. Both were excellent. I'm semi sad that I didn't get the reserve coffee's which were 100% Kona coffee b/c I didn't see it until after I already ordered. For those of you who are fortunate enough to have been to Hawaii and try real Kona coffee - there's nothing like it. We'll likely go again tomorrow and I am absolutely going to get the real Kona. I don't live in Katy and had to bring my kiddo to a school thing out here. I have been to Kona twice so when I saw this on Yelp had to get my coffee fix here vs Starbucks which I avoid like the plague. I would rather drink water from Buffalo bayou vs anything from Starbucks. . This place was super clean all over which is alway la a good sign. I think it is run by an nice Japanese fellow that pays attention to detail. Coffee excellent, ambiance excellent, WiFi works, lots of places to chill. They roast their own coffee straight from Kona so if you grid your fix then you might want to take some home. read more

Why 4 stars? Because the nitro definitely did the trick. --- --- --- As is usually the case after a big lunch, I was ready for a pick-me-up. I opened up Yelp and happened to see that this place was literally right around the corner from where we were. And as we pulled up, we discovered another bonus - they had a drive-thru! I always feel weird reviewing a coffee shop after one visit (especially where I didn't even go inside), but it was a true experience, after all. My nitro was solid. Not amazing, but not terrible. It was definitely quite full of caffeine, as it did indeed provide a 5-star pick-me-up. I sipped it over the next 2-3 hours and was buzzing all afternoon. I also tried a sip of my Mom's toffee mocha and it was delicious. If I lived in Katy, I am sure I would be utilizing the convenience of this drive-thru quite often. read more

Like like like... I think this will be my new spot for coffee. Spent a couple hours here. Had a sandwich, muffin and green tea latte and couple cups of coffee. ... they were all pretty good. Chicken sandwich was just right, good bread, sauce and chicken. Nice and simple and just the right portion and priced reasonably. I'll try the pour over coffee next time...
