Love Black Rock!!! Never disappoints! My favs are Caramel blondie hot or frozen and hot White out with half and half

I like BR coffee and have visited several across the Houston area. This one the coffee was just as good as the others. The staff were friendly and helpful. The reason for my low review rating is due to the below. I felt like I was in a club from the moment I walked in. The music was so loud you could hear it at the door. Due to the music volume, folks in the shop were talking so loud you could barely hear yourself think. Much less when they called your order out. The chairs and tables were horrible. Nothing says we do not want you to stay long, like hard metal cold chairs and high top tables. read more

I love black rock and honestly stop by at least 3-4 times a week mid afternoon . I loved the caramel blondie at first but switched over to the Mai Tai recently, at first it was great!!! Aesthetically pleasing to the eye and tasted great, not too much syrup like most places. Now within the past 2-3 weeks I notice they have stopped blending the drink and all of the syrup sits on the top in a pool. I think this was pretty recent so I'm not sure if new staff has come in and been lazy with blending the drinks or a recipe change but it has made me think of switching back to Starbucks which is conveniently right next door. Yes it's a little annoying to receive an unblended drink once or twice and have to mix it with the straw but it's every time I order a 'blended drink'. I stop at black rock when I'm on the go or in a rush and don't want to have to make a mess mixing my own drink when I pay 6$ and tip for it to come that way in the first place. I want to end this by saying I love black rock and the staff used to be so great!!! I'm not sure what caused the change but it's been about 2 weeks waiting for it to get better with nothing changing. read more

Caramel blonde and the Irish Coffee were our coffee selections today! Pretty good size for a medium. Flavors are great on both of them, but they are very very very sweet, so beware! Both are very creamy and you can still taste the coffee in them. Wish the coffee taste was stronger! If you're looking for a coffee shop that has something else other than coffee, then this is the place for you! I got a hibiscus tea with peach flavor and it was so refreshing!! They also have energy drinks too. The service was quick and the workers were really nice and answered all my questions about the drinks. The store is really clean and there's lots of tables to sit at to meet with friends or work. They had majority high top tables, a bar seating area, and a big communal table. I also saw a couch sitting area in the back too.If you come definitely bring a jacket, it gets a little chilly inside!! Overall, great coffee shop. I will be back for my tea :) read more

As far as nitro cold brews go, this place does some magic with oat milk and their syrup. An XL nitro cold brew with ; pumps syrup will put you back under $8 but your mouth and energy level will take you to the moon. You're welcome and meet you at the drive through. Great coffee on Sunday while out driving around with my wife. Friendly service and quick drive through.

Don't be fooled by the outside; it may look small and plain but once you open that door, you're stepping into a modern large barista shop with a dope interior. Plenty of seating and some lounge sofas to hang at when you're here so it's a great place to relax or catch up on work/adult things. As for the coffee, the latte I ordered tasted fine with a good amount of milk foam. Staff is helpful and helped me navigate the menu as a first timer. Seems like a fairly new place in the south Katy area. It'll be jumping when the area is fully developed so might as well enjoy it before the crowds start swarming. read more

This is a great place to study, meet with friends, or just sit and take a break from your busy schedule. I ordered a Mexican hot chocolate with almond milk and received a mocha. Black Rock was swift in remedying the issue when I explained the situation. I appreciated the unisex bathroom with a lock that displayed the availability status (vacant or occupied) on the outer handle. My one suggestion is that they lower the volume for the music and choose songs that suit the coffee shop ambiance. read more

Delicious coffee! We came by for Black Rock Coffee Bar's opening week BOGO deal today, and the wait at the drive-thru was so worth it. I tried the latte, which I ordered "blended" (like a Frappuccino) and added coconut syrup. It was so so good and perfect for a hot day! The coconut flavor really stood out without overpowering the coffee. My boyfriend tried the blackout (hazelnut mocha) and really enjoyed it as well. I was really impressed by how friendly the employees were who ran the drive-thru today and how fast everything went. I was also so surprised at how many different syrup flavors they have! The speaker wasn't working so everyone had to order at the window which caused the wait to be a bit long but the service made up for it. I was very disappointed with my iced latte with soy milk. The espresso was bland with little aromas. If you care a lot about the actual quality of the coffee, I don't recommend this place. On the other hand, you might love Black Rock if you like flavored coffee drinks. They have a wide range of selections. The staff is friendly and would welcome you with a smile. Although there aren't many outlets, the bright lighting is perfect for studying or working. Black Rock is certainly a solid place for most people. First time trying the coffee shop. I had the Mexican Mocha iced coffee since it was late afternoon and needed a caffeine boost to get through work. The flavors were robust but smooth and flavorful. I would give them another try because I was impressed as I'm a bonafide coffee snob....LOL and it was pretty good. I'm not that close to this place but if I'm ever over that way I would go for cup of hot coffee as well. I'm just so excited we have so many quaint original coffee houses new to the Katy area so that we have several option other than the nameless popular venue. Give it try try to see what you like. Finally found a coffee place that feeds my soul. You know - the feeling you get - when you find that place of yours- like your favorite ramen place or hangout place or whatever it is. Just the thought of that place, is exciting enough. Turns out, that is how amazing my first experience was at this place. I think I finally found my happy coffee place. Excellent and affordable coffee (and other drinks), amazing - humane customer service and jet speed prep. What more can one ask for. Also the servers telling you about their amazing happy hour. We tried out the Mexican Mocha & the Iced Toffee Nut Latte. The pricing & taste makes this an automatic regular coffee shop An then decided to try their Infused Fuel (Teal). With all honesty we got it b/c it was pretty. But it has a great flavor (it's taste pretty much like a regular Red Bull). What I really liked is you can customize you fuel w/ their flavor. It used to be good but my mom loved it so I kept coming here. (She loves overly sweet drinks ) . I have had 3 bad experience and service from Katy location. Last december the lid was defective and coffee spilled all over the car (I even put water in it and tried to drink because maybe it was my fault but nope water all over my face hha) , and then 2 days ago when we asked for half sweet it tasted like absolute diabetes in a cup I promise you.
