"GREAT JOB! AND QUICK RESPONSE WHILE TRAVELING" After traveling with my RV to Estes Park, I noticed my hitch ball was loose. This system is very old, and because of the location of the nut to tighten the hitch ball I was concerned that a whole new head assembly piece would be required. Upon arrival I was able to discuss this with the service desk who immediately went to view the situation. 35 minutes later, the hitch ball was secure and I was on my way. No additional parts required and only a minimal charge for the service. I plan to use this company again since they are near downtown Denver.... GREAT JOB!! Tips: Pull around back if you are pulling a trailer per the sign. Also, be sure and greet the Irish setter inside the main office. Great dog that loves to have his stomach scratched. read more

Abysmal Customer Service. Based on many positive reviews, I chose Lampert for a hitch install. Turns out, they may know hitches but they certainly do not know customer service. I made the mistake of surveying fellow owners of my tow vehicle and trailer to understand what was needed. I supplied that to Lampert upon dropping off the car. Nearly 3 hours later, I get a call. I expected they would be telling me the work was done. Instead, I got an earful along the lines of "We are the experts . . . why are you telling us how to do our job?" They hadn't even started the work. With Lampert, it appears that it is their way or the highway. I took to the highway. read more

If I cold vote ZERO I would. I took my VW bus there for a custom rear hitch for 4 bikes. They told me the hitch could hold 600lbs. Said they had their biggest employee jumping on a bar inserted into the hitch with no movement. Put one road bike on the rack when I got home and it wiggled several inches of bouncing movement with just one finger putting pressure on it. No way I'm carting 4 bikes worth thousands of dollars on this thing on a road trip. Wasted $650 on an insufficient hitch. Maybe $40 worth of materials if they're lucky. What a waste. Management said "too bad, that's your risk with a custom hitch". They didn't even make an attempt to make it right. read more

I have been doing business with Lampert Hitch in Wheat Ridge Colorado since 1993. They have done my clinic truck and family vehicles installing hitches and working on electric brakes and electrical connections. They are always on schedule, polite and respectful of my time. The work ethic is exceptional and the charges more than reasonable. We bought a new Subaru wagon and the dealer recommended we go to Lampert rather than having it installed at the dealer. I think that says it all even though I would've come to Lampert regardless. These are good, honest and respectful people who listen and are not critical of complaints. Got a quote before I took the truck in to install a tow mechanism to tow behind my motor home on my GMC truck. When I made the appointment, I again confirmed the amount and each time I was put on hold so they could confirm what it entailed. When I picked up the truck, the cost was 40% greater. My mistake, I should have gotten it in writing, but I had a tow mechanism put on a previous vehicle, so I trusted that they stood by what they had quoted. They did a professional job, and discounted it by 15%. I had another quote out of Fort Collins which was approximately the same quote for the 40% less. Lesson....always get it in writing...my bad. read more

I needed trailer brakes installed in a pinch and Lampert Hitch was able to get them in within a few hours. They are very close to where I live and every time I pass I thought to myself, "I have got to drop my new car off sometime soon." But never did. For about 2 months! Then I found myself in a dire situation where I NEEDED to haul my horse somewhere and was without trailer brakes. I called, they said they were booked as far as appointments went but if I could drop it off they'd squeeze me in. I dropped it at 8:30 and it was finished by 11! And for $100 LESS than I was originally quoted because my new car already had some of the wiring. Look, I'm a girl, and I know ZERO about cars. And I'm SURE they could tell that by the questions I was asking. They could have easily not mentioned that my new vehicle came prewired and got an extra $100 out of me but they didn't. Tried to install what was to be a simple plug and play break controller on my F150. Took it to the dealership to get it remapped and was told there was no way to make it work since it didn't come from the factory with the controller. Took the truck to Lampert to get a standard controller installed. The tech informed me that it was very simple to make the controller I had previously installed work. 45 min later, he had it working. They could have easily sold me the standard controller at a cost of around $275 but instead they made what I already had work and the total bill was under $70!!! Nice to find an honest shop after getting the runaround from Ford! read more

Pretty simple. I need a hitch with a brake controller wired and this is lampert hitches speciality. Oops, even though they knew the vehicle to be worked on, they added parts that were not in the initial quote. No big deal it was only $27. When I got home the brake controller was going crazy with error messages. I called the next morning and was told it had to be my camper wiring as it checked out positive on they're tester. (The error message said that only tekonsha testers should be used on this brake controller. Lampert uses they're home made tester) I explained that my camper and brake controller worked fine with my wifes vehicle and that the problem had to be with the new wiring on my truck. The salesman got belligerent with me and accused me of suggesting that they were incompetant. "We do this everyday and I know its right" He told me to bring my truck in to be tested again. So I did. The mechanic had run the wiring right on top the manifold and burned it up. Tested positive on they're tester but had a short that kept it from working correctly. Huh? (No apologies) Now I'm rewired and off I go. Except he couldnt get the backup lights to work. No time, I'll bring it back after my trip. I bring it back and the salesman insults me by showing me his tester over and over with the backup lights working. Once again he blames my camper which again I explain that it works fine on my wife's vehicle and I'm simply trying to trouble shoot. Since the "experts" had no answers to the problem, I called my mechanic who listened for 30 seconds and solved the problem. Once again was an issue with the new added center plug wire for the backup lights. A simple apology and an iota of humility would have changed the whole experience as we all make mistakes. This is not the Lampert hitch of generations past! read more

Lampert sold me a hitch product that was incorrect for my trailer. It's way too heavy and stiff and will eventually damage my RV. They sold this item to me because it's all they had in stock. Gave them an opportunity to correct the problem and the owner never called me back. I will not return as a customer and never recommend to anyone. read more

My experience was nothing but positive. I was given a quote on the phone by Mary. I needed to have a hitch, brake controller, charger wire and a 7 way connector installed on a Subaru Outback. I thought the quote was high but she explained each component and installation charge. Because they came highly recommended by a friend, I decided the cost was warranted for what I needed. They were great. I got it installed the same day in less time than was expected as they had two guys working on it. Nick explained how to use the brake controller. Love these guys! Unable To get trailer lights working correctly with a new extension adaptor I purchased at Lazy Days. Lazy Days said it was a car electrical problem, Toyota dealer said it was a trailer problem. Came here and within 5 minutes, they diagnosed the problem in the new extension adaptor! All the wiring was mixed up! They fixed it within 20 minutes! I also brought a double hitch with me so it could be fitted with my old bike rack, while being hooked up to my trailer. By cutting off of a portion of the ball mount on the rack, I'm able to remove & put the hitch and/or my bike on without unhitching the trailer. Highly recommend. read more

Probably the best place to get a hitch installed in Denver, sure beats Uhaul... Price was $30 more than I quoted on the phone, but they refused to lower the price. I paid $267 out the door for a Subaru standard hitch, plus wiring. read more

I chose these guys because they specialize in hitches and installation. Yes they installed it but it felt rushed. Aesthetically it lacked a little pride. It was even acknowledged by someone who spoke with me but he seemed more interested in asking about performance. You can't debate the two these are two entirely different attributes all together. Important ones at that and honestly are probably the main reasons why people buy a new car to begin with. It doesn't matter where it's located take more satisfaction in what you do. read more

The staff also made some recommendations for places to check out in the area (Tennyson is a wonderful little district) while I waited and when I lost my phone, they all helped me look (I left it in the bathroom). I've had Lampert Hitch install/adjust hitches on my truck several times for different uses over the last several years and they've always done a good job and taken care of me. This last time, we went in with a complex problem for towing a 5th wheel with my short bed truck. Jason discussed several possible solutions and even went for a test drive with us to understand the problem we were feeling in the truck. After he spent a great deal of time with us, we wanted to think it over and ended up not buying the trailer. So when we came back with a tow behind travel trailer and only needed to have my weight distributing hitch installed/adjusted again, I wasn't sure if they would be happy to see us as it was a small, inexpensive job. They couldn't have nicer to work with! They came right out to get the job done and addressed additional specific issues I wanted to change! I've use these guys in the past and had success however recently their service has seemed to really gone down hill. I just went in to try to buy a drop hitch for a jeep only to tow a small trailer with an ATV and a gentleman behind the counter with hoop earrings was so condescending that I will never come back. He acted like the fact that I was not driving a dooley diesel truck that I have no business ever towing anything. I didn't care if the hitch cost me $300 I just wanted something that would work, with a little bit of help from TransWest I found exactly what I was looking for for $60 read more

Hello, I'm a lady who had a problem installing my 5th. wheel hitch. Three of the legs went in perfectly fine, the third leg just would not go in. I needed professional help. I called several businesses that advertised RV, truck, trailer, hitch repair and service. None of them would allow me to even come by for someone to take a look at my problem, nor would any of the receptionist allow me to speak with a qualifide service mechanic. Lampert Hitch, was next in line for me to call. I called, Nick answered the phone, very courteous. He also listended to my perceived issue with my hitch. Nick let me know the hours of operation and invited me to come by so they could take a look at it. Upon my arrival I was met with a warm welcome. One star is very generous. We loved this company when John Lampert was running it. But since Jason took over, it has become extremely unprofessional and customer service is non-existant. I asked Jason for a simple quote to put a hitch on a car, and it was as though it was a huge, troublesome and unreasonable request to get a quote. It seems to me that is what a business should do. After I was finally able to convince him to come out from behind his desk to look at the job, he stormed around angrily in his flip flops and finally gave me a quote. I was not interested in hearing over and over again how he was the owner of the business, I simply wanted a quote for work. I decided to go elsewhere, as he clearly he was not as interested in serving customers as sitting on his "owners throne" and waiting for checks to come in on their own. read more

Great company! I took my Nissan Frontier in to have a trailer hitch installed. They finished the job within an hour. They called me when they were done so I could effectively plan my afternoon. My bill was less than their quoted price because my truck had some of the electrical work already installed for the brake lights - they were honest with me about something I didn't know about and billed me accordingly. It is very difficult to find an honest auto repair/auto service company anymore - you can be assured that you will find an honest company with Lampert Hitch.
