Love the new and bigger location. Love the ambiance and decor. I've been a customer for years. All of the cakes are delicious. My personal favorite is the black out cake and carrots cake. Cakes are always fresh and nice and moist. Staff is friendly and welcoming. Love that this location has an area to sit at. This is my go to spot for cakes for any occasion.

Lemon cake with cream cheese filling & frosting
Stephanie Z.

We have been coming here for birthday cakes (custom make) and I have to say, in Brooklyn, this is by far one of the best bakeries! I am particular to cream cheese frosting on any cake, and Lady Bird's cream cheese frosting is amazing! It is tangy, sweat, and not clumpy at all. The cake sponge is really moist & soft.

Sad apple pie with no apples
Amanda D.

My aunt is a huge fan of this bakery so for every holiday she buys cakes from here. Every Christmas we get one of their log cakes and for Thanksgiving we get pies. This year she brought an apple pie and there was not a single apple slice in it. The inside of this pie was sugar mush. I've never had a worse pie in my life and for the high price, I am so disappointed. This is literally a fourth of a pie and it is just filled with sugar mush.

Lemon bar

Shhh... Ladybird is basically Two Little Red Hens. Don't tell. (You can Google it to learn more.) My boyfriend and I stopped in and grabbed a Brooklyn blackout cupcake, 4-inch Brooklyn blackout cake, and lemon bar. Lemon bar and cake were both perfection. You can skip the cupcake. In my now-nonexistent review of 2LRH, I went on and on about how you can't emulate the layers of cake in a cupcake, and that holds true here. I am 99% sure that the cake recipe is the same here as at 2LRH, which is to say it is the absolute bar for all chocolate cake. (The bakery also has a similar layout, with jars of cookies with handwritten signs, etc.) Need more of that cake immediately!!

Bridal Shower Cake - 12 in round
Veronica L.

Ordered a 12 inch round cake ($103) for my sister's bridal shower and the cake was beautiful, delicious, and very affordable! It made for a beautiful table center piece and there was plenty of cake to go around for our 30 person event. Everyone especially loved the raspberry buttercream in between the layers! I was able to place a phone order a week before the event. Ladybird Bakery's site is clear and straightforward to follow regarding custom cake orders. Their staff was able to answer any additional questions I had, specifically regarding the flower placements on the cake - they directed me to send an email with a photo reference for the design and colors. The pickup process was seamless, as I just had to let them know my name and cake order. They had a breadth of other pastries as well that I'm looking forward to trying on my next visit! 10/10 would recommend!!

Red Velvet
Reema S.

Last week for my birthday, my friend surprises me with a beautiful decadent red velvet cake from ladybird bakery. I have always been wanting to check out this establishment, but never got the chance so receiving that cake was one of the most pleasant birthday surprises. First off, I would say the cake was moist, well baked, not too soft, but also not too dry. The cream cheese frosting taste was absolutely delicious, the ratio of cake to frosting was absolutely perfect, if either one was a little more, it would be completely out of balance. I liked that the red velvet cake was appropriately red, did not have too much food coloring but just enough. The cake kept really well in the fridge for at least a week, which is a big win when you are buying cake because let's be real unless you were serving it at a huge party, It's hard to finish it in one sitting. Thank you again for making my birthday special and I will be coming by and trying more of your cakes and baked goods.

Brooklyn Blackout

My daughter picked up a black out cake for my birthday. So delicious! The decorations were nice and not overpowering.

Awesome new location for the famous Ladybird Bakery in Park slope. The interior has a few tables for seating. There is of course, a wonderful array of pies and sweets to choose from. You can't go wrong with the peach and raspberry tart. The buggy car is adorable for photos. I wish ladybird all the best at this new location. Take a stop by on your way to Prospect Park for an iced coffee and a nice sweet!

Best Brooklyn blackout cake ever! Great red velvet cake as well. Terrible dry scones. Customer service was mediocre. Will be back for the cupcakes!

Lemon cupcake (Lemon frosting and lemon filling)
Jonathan K.

Arrived at 5:55 PM, right before they close at 6 PM (didn't even realize!!), and they still helped me order. Although I could tell they were a little rushed, they were still patient enough with me and waited for me to select something. I got the lemon cupcake (with lemon frosting + lemon filling). Frosting is a little sweet for me, but they also give quite a thick layer of it. The cupcake itself is not too dry, but not the most moist ever either. The inside lemon filling was delicious though! It was thick, goey, and really brought the entire cupcake together. I would say that it is a little pricey ($6) for basically a cupcake with some filling, hence the 4/5 stars, as I would expect something a little more special to command that price. NY man. Oh well, good cupcake, probably wouldn't get it again.

Mini red velvet cake ($15 when I bought it)
Melissa N.

We had a Ladybird cake during a friend get together and it was delicious! It was the lemon cake and had delicious buttercream icing. I was drooling and needed to get some of my own! My husband and I were finally able to get here and bummed that they become sold out on their various, especially smaller sizes, of their popular cakes. They are a bit pricey - a small, what looks like could be a single serving cake was $15, cupcakes are able $5 each and the larger/regular sized cakes may start around $45 and up. Perhaps I am messing up the cakes, but pretty sure we spent about $70+ on one of each - a lemon cake, a small red velvet and a chocolate cupcake. I thought about getting the strawberry cupcake, but saw that there was some long hair wrapped around like 2 or 3 of them. I did mention it to one of the girls, but they just took it off the tray. The treats were definitely good, but the chocolate cupcake was just fine for me (cake was moist and good, but I don't really like custard) and overall it was pretty expensive for just a regular day lol I would consider getting a cake here for a special occasion and would try again to get there earlier for a smaller version of the ones I like so it's more affordable. They also do cookies and other treats as well.

Custom birthday cake

This baker makes the absolute BEST buttercream in Brooklyn that I have tried! I love love love their cakes and flavor options, how beautiful they decorate, and their super affordable prices! It's so easy to call in a custom cake and they are incredibly accommodating. They are also a super cute place to just swing in for a delicious cookie or pie--and they have a great grab and go selection of cakes for pick up if you don't have time to order ahead! This is a must order place for my bday cake every year and will stay that way for as long as I'm in the city. I can't recommend them enough and can't wait to go back!

Ask the Community - Ladybird Bakery

I was supposed to pick up a cake this afternoon but didn't make it. Is it possible anyone is in the shop early tomorrow morning for me to grab it?

Do you sale birthday cake?

Do they sell slices of cake?

If I want to order a 6 inch Brooklyn blackout cake for Monday morning, how long in advance do I need to order it? Do you make them daily or do I need to place an order for that?

I got lucky and snagged the limited blueberry pie croissant on its last day. Their croissants are literally perfect. Light, airy honeycomb interior, a super flaky exterior, and a deep golden brown. I might just start making regular trips to South Slope for these pastries! Their chef Claudio was so friendly! He even offered to help us cut the pastries in half, which is how we got those flawless cross sections. *Blueberry Pie Croissant $11.5 The croissant was stuffed with blueberry jam and whipped vanilla cream! You could tell the jam was homemade with so many real blueberry bits, and they didn't hold back on it! The oat streusel on top was so good I was picking up every last crumb off the plate lol. * Kouign Amann $5.5 What really blew me away was their kouign amann... the outside is crunchy, sticky, and coated with a generous sprinkle of sugar. It's super buttery and pulls apart perfectly with gorgeous honeycomb layers. *Ham and Gruyere Croissant $8 I usually go for savory pastries, so this one's a solid pick especially for breakfast. It is bright, airy, and calm in that effortless way great bakeries have. There is an open kitchen so you can actually see what is happening behind the scenes, which immediately builds trust. You walk in and it smells like butter, sugar, and real baking, not artificial sweetness. Now the pastries. The croissants are the star for a reason. Perfectly laminated, flaky on the outside, soft and rich on the inside. Not greasy, not dry, and not overly sweet. Just balanced and thoughtful. You can tell these are made by people who care deeply about technique and quality. I tried a few different items and everything felt intentional. Nothing felt mass produced or created just for social media. This is the kind of bakery where you slow down, sit with your coffee, and actually enjoy what you are eating instead of rushing out the door. Yes, there can be a line during busy hours, but that comes with places that do things right. The staff is efficient and friendly, and even when it is crowded, the energy stays relaxed and welcoming. Miolin is not trying to be trendy. It is simply very good at what it does. I hosted a party in our apartment for about 85 people and the amount of food I ordered (7 platters- beef sliders, fried chicken sliders, coconut curry chicken skewers, beef skewers, mango jerk chicken empanadas, spinach & cheese empanadas, veggie spring rolls) was more than enough. Samantha is professional, sweet, charming, and super talented. For my baby shower, Samantha created a beautiful spread of Dulce De leche cake, cake pops and adorably decorated cookies (rattles, onsies, champagne glasses) for my baby shower in late February. All of which fit perfectly in the theme of twinkle twinkle little star mixed with she's about to pop theme. Through out the event guests asked me who made the cookies, cake, and cake pops because they were so good. The decoration was classy, elegant, and festive. As for the food, I tend to stay away from black and white cookies outside of Jewish bakeries as they're often disappointing, but these are right on par! Soft cookie, solid, but soft icing. Exactly like a Jewish bakery. The rainbow cookies have spongy cake and the right amount of jelly between layers. The chocolate isn't waxy as often happens in refrigerator cases. The pignoli cookies are another winner, although I preferred the pignoli free version, the amaretti. Chewy on the inside, a little crunch on the outside, just like they should be. And a light dusting of powdered sugar. Jam cookies and crystal sugar sprinkled cookies were similarly delicious. Apple turnover was full of apple and yummy filling, without tasting fake or preserved. Nothing at this place lasts long enough to need to be preserved! The muffins are inventive. I don't even think I covered everything... I got way too much and yet not enough.
