After trying another slice of cake from here I don't think I'll ever want to return . I had a raspberry Bundt cake one evening and it tasted as though they used old eggs to make it. The fruitiness , fluffiness and texture were all good except the flavor . All I was reminded of was just eggs . It was disgusting . As a vegan it can be difficult to find good cakes! The place I normally go to was unavailable so I searched around and came across this place. They don't have vegan cakes off the shelf but with a little notice (I called two days ahead, not sure if one day would suffice?) they will make one. Let me tell you, it came out amazing. I saw this place post the cutest hot chocolate drink with a mini gingerbread house painted pink and white on their Instagram page during the holidays. However, when a fellow Yelp Elite and I finally went to visit, they no longer had that beverage available. I was quite disappointed, but enjoyed the exterior cute and colorful décor and impressive looking treats, from cupcakes, to cookies, to cakes, and more. My friend and I were trying to decide between the S'mores cookie and the Nutella cookie, so I suggested we just get both and share them. Both cookies were absolutely delicious and very generously sized. They were both warmed up and delightfully melty and moist. The S'mores cookie had plenty of marshmallow in the center, with a dusting of graham crackers on top a chewy, rich chocolate cookie. The Nutella cookie had soft, smooth and sweet Nutella in the middle and the flavor from it was nicely strong. Just perfect ooey gooey mouthwatering yumminess! As a fellow baker, I wanted to love this place so much, especially with how gorgeous the products are and how awesome the portion sizes are. However, there was almost nothing I really enjoyed about anything I got. Nutella cookie: Texture was great and had nice crisp edges but something tasted slightly off about the flavor of the cookie that didn't have Nutella on it. Butter Pecan cookie: Again nice texture with a crisp edge, not many pecans at all unless they were very finely chopped and I just didn't notice. Had a buttery taste that was a touch more done than a brown butter taste. Chocolate cupcake: This was where I kind of knew nothing else was going to be great. The butter cream frosting tasted like old freezer burn butter and left the more disgusting greasy coating in my mouth. I scraped all of the frosting off and took a bite of the cupcake that way and was happy to get a moist cupcake but there was almost no flavor and was reminiscent of spruced up boxed cake mix. Red velvet cake: Again, frosting had a greasy texture in the mouth that was really unpleasant. True red velvet cake should be simple with cream cheese frosting and I will give them points for that part because the cream cheese frosting part was pretty good but then gets ruined by the addition of buttercream frosting being on the same cake. I really feel like this cake would be top notch if they did it with ONLY cream cheese frosting and completely left out the buttercream. The cake part itself was not bad either. Brooklyn blackout cake: The frosting on this had a better texture than the cupcake and the buttercream part of the red velvet so that was kind of nice. The cake part was not too bad and had a good chocolate flavor. However, the pudding filling was underwhelming. Brooklyn blackout cake is hands down my favorite cake on earth and this is one of the 1st ones I tried that I really wasn't too happy with. Mini carrot loaf: The cake part of this was moist and flavorful but still missing something I can't put my finger on. The frosting also had that weird greasy in the mouth quality to it but wasn't as bad as the cupcake. read more

Ordering was super easy and they were able to make changes in a short amount of time, which I appreciated. When I went to pick up the cake, the women packaged it up for me and put it in a paper bag. As soon as I got outside, the cake ripped through the bag and fell on the floor. I was super nervous and stressed out but luckily they were able to fix it in the less than 20 minutes. The cake itself looked really pretty. The taste wasn't my favorite. It was really dense, extremely dry and not sweet at all. The frosting was also really hard and not sweet. The cake tasted sugar free. My mother, who hates sugar, would really appreciate this cake so if I were to order again from here, it would only be for a small cake for her. read more

I decided to try two of their small cupcakes, which were priced at $4.50 for each one. I bought the Dulce De Leche and a chocolate cupcake with chocolate frosting. I have to say there was absolutely nothing special with either cupcake. I found the Dulce De Leche to be so little in size of cake to frosting ratio. The frosting was absolutely disgusting. Terrible. It almost had a sour taste to it. The cake itself was actually edible, but it was burnt on the outside. The inside of the cake was dense and the flavor was meh. The ONLY reason I am even giving this two stars is because I also got the s'mores cookie which was absolutely bomb. If only the cake was as good as the cookie. I wish I had gotten to try the banana pudding just to know if it was good, but they had run out. She had me think through the setting and its limitations for a big cake (temperature, etc.), brainstorm flavors and fillings, and of course, the decor. I sent her my mood board and she really made our vision come to life. It was such a smooth, easy and fun process - so responsive, creative and supportive. We had spoken to 9 other cake/cupcake vendors, and when I spoke with Kanupriya, it was a no-brainer. She gets it and she can do anything. I bought a small birthday cake for my daughter yesterday. I picked the small one in the front of the display. It was a lemon and blueberry birthday cake. I found this 4 1/2 star bakery from Yelp. The service was good, the sales were nice. I was so happy to find this small shop with yummy cakes until we ate the birthday cake after dinner. First of all the salesperson gave me a slightly different color cake from her outer side of the display instead of the one that I pointed to. Cute bakery. I'm always down for checking out a new mom and pop baked goods shop. A friend and I had noticed some kind of cocoa gingerbread house concoction on instagram and she really wanted to go here and I can't say no, especially if it's kind of close to my neighborhood. We walked over after brunch and oggled their goods. Tons of cupcakes, cookies, cakes, whoopie pies. I guess the hot chocolate picture she had seen online was only a temporary thing. So we ended up getting two giant cookies and splitting them. The nutella and the smores. Both gooey and decadent. Pricing is pretty fair for a cookie that dense and huge - it was a little over $3 a pop. Cupcakes were priced about the same. Still need to come back to try one of those!
