She totally worked with my budget and guided me in the right direction without compromising on glitz and glamour. She designed a balloon bouquet that had a few big (36 inch) balloons, a few 24, and the rest were a mix of 16 and 11 inch to total 40 balloons. Get everything in writing when you book with Fama party center. So I want to start by saying Yolanda is a wonderful person. I hired her to do 2 arches for my 50th birthday party at a venue in park slope once that venue closed down, we needed to get one ASAP. She volunteered to decorate the new place with all my decorations I had purchased on my own plus the arches and balloons I purchased from her. We spoke many times before my event regarding how I wanted my party to be, I explained to her my vision and she gave me some wonderful ideas. My event must have overwhelmed her. When I arrived at my party half of what we spoke about was done. I walked into my event looked around and had a meltdown. All she had to do is call me and tell me what the situation was. My friend paid $400 for a variety of services at a baby shower (decorating, cake, balloons, lollipops, corsage, etc etc) and they only did about 1/2 of the stuff they were supposed to do. They put down a few table cloths, blew up 3 balloons for each table and brought a plain cake. He could've gotten a better cake at the grocery store. We Had an old Empty ballroom, needed a fun & young feel for my son's bar mitzvah and wanted to support local business. With Fama and Yolanda, I scored on all fronts! Doesn't look like much when you walk by, but I needed an expert to help design my son's bar mitzvah. Yolanda, the owner of FAMA took the time to give me ideas and options, showed me videos and pictures of her other events. She invited my son to give her thoughts and choices. And we designed the perfect party fro my son. We had the tables done, the buffet table, a beautiful stage decorated, special candle ceremony table, photo booth, DJ, and candy table for the kids. In the end, we had an old yellow/brown, wall-papered ballroom in a very old synagogue turned into an amazingly elegant, warm, fun room where my guests ate, danced and enjoyed- and they had no idea what was behind the decorations, table cloths and chair covers! I needed balloon centerpieces and admittedly waited until the last minute to call someone. Initially I called a ballon place right around the corner from my venue. It was a busy weekend for them and they refused the order even after a brief conversation revealed that the owner knew and interacted regularly with my family still living in the area....LOL...but ok, no problem. I then called Fama and the sweetest woman answered the phone, clearly busy and hurrying to get orders out. She asked me to give her an hour and call back when she could give me the proper attention. I totally respected her for that and you can bet I took the time to call her back when she would be less busy. She took my order and agreed to deliver the balloons for my party even though she also had tons of orders to fill like the first shop. I had the ABSOLUTE worst experience with Yolanda the owner. I had a baby shower 2 years back and the theme was the lion king theme, for starters she arrived an hour late to my baby shower and was still decorating when my guests got there which was very unprofessional, because she was late she was rushing which caused her to drop my $200 cake on the floor "by mistake" the chair she provided for me and my husband to sit on was poorly made we didn't have any ribbons on it and we were missing the pillow to sit on, The balloons on my tables were not blown up fully and the baby shower gifts were poorly made and kept falling out of the boxes from the bottom every time I gave them to my guests... she turned one of the most important and special days for me into a nightmare... I highly recommend anyone looking to do business with her please look else where, she over charges you and the work that she does is absolutely not worth it read more
