When meeting Yolanda she expressed kindness, laughter and amazing stories. She insisted for me not to worry because she is "born" with this gift to decorate. She sure is. Her creativity and imagination for making a room look so elegant and classy. Absolutely priceless and the sky is the limit. I recommend her to others. I told her what we wanted as the color theme for my daughter's wedding and she brought it to reality. May God continually bless her above and beyond measure. read more

A totally positive experience. I wanted a balloon bouquet for my 4-year old granddaughter's birthday and Yolanda most obligingly listened to several calls and came up with the PERFECT bouquet. It was a delight to deal with her and the price was far less than the other two stores I called. Joan R. read more

Sometimes you just want to make a simple request and have it turn out right without a fuss. I needed 13 hot pink helium balloons for my daughter's birthday. The nearest party chain wanted a ridiculous fee for delivery AND required that I stop in the store to make the request. So I called Fama. First, I had the pleasure of speaking with an actual human being who cared about the business she was running. Second, they made the order easy. The entire order including delivery cost less than the party chain's delivery fee. The delivery woman was lovely. The balloons were exactly what I asked for and arrived precisely on time. Simple. Easy. Great pricing. Excellent customer service. This is what makes small business great. Thanks! read more

This is my GO TO place to plan a party. The owner of the store Yolanda is great! She's been event planning for over 30 years and I get the impression that she has all the best contacts in NY to make sure you get the best price. I've had her plan several parties for me and she's made every event so special. She doesn't push you to add things that you can't afford and will work within your budget. Her store has some great centerpieces and party supplies/decorations as well. She has a magic touch for making everything so beautiful! read more

One of the few Latino businesses in this part of Park Slope that has survived gentrification. It's been there FOREVER and for good reason. Awesome, warm, friendly and fairly-priced service for all your event needs, with the nicest owners. Stopped by out of the blue to order centerpieces on a Sunday afternoon for a birthday dinner the same day and within an hour, I had exactly what I needed. I will support this businesses whenever I can! read more

What a wonderful family business! Yolanda was so helpful, kind, friendly, and fun! Working with her made the experience just that much better. The product, service and quality was also great. We rented tables and chairs and had Fama blow up balloons we provided. Everything was delivered exactly on time and picked up exactly as scheduled. Yolanda's husband was also very kind. I will definitely use Fama Party Center again and will recommend to any of my local friends! read more

Very happy with the balloon arrangements Yolanda prepared for my son's communion. She really came through with less than 24 hours notice. I placed the order over the phone, hadn't seen anything in advance. The balloon arrangements were beautiful, better than I envisioned. I felt like I was dealing with a family member with the same taste as mine. Her instincts were perfect! To top it off, due to a mix-up at the party venue, she delivered the balloons without being paid. Personal service like that is rare. Yolanda is truly special. You'll be in very good hands. I highly recommend Fama. read more

What an awesome family business! Yolanda was so helpful every step of the way in helping me plan balloons for my big birthday party. She totally worked with my budget and guided me in the right direction without compromising on glitz and glamour. She designed a balloon bouquet that had a few big (36 inch) balloons, a few 24, and the rest were a mix of 16 and 11 inch to total 40 balloons. Yolanda even did some double balloons-- clear balloons with a gold balloon inside. The prices and delivery fee were very reasonable. If you want someone who cares as much about your event as you do, you'll want Yolanda! read more

I needed 25 helium balloons for a kid's birthday party and was able to arrange everything over the phone (they even had polka dot!). The day of the party was very cold and windy (I had planned to walk about 10 blocks with the balloons) so I called to see whether they could be delivered. Yep -- no problem. They were a pleasure to work with and I was thrilled to avoid Party City. read more

Fama Party Center is, in my opinion, a highly reputable company. The owner has been in business over 35 years and has ALWAYS served her clients with outstanding professionalism. Stay away from this place!!! They sell you dreams that they don't deliver on. My friend paid $400 for a variety of services at a baby shower (decorating, cake, balloons, lollipops, corsage, etc etc) and they only did about 1/2 of the stuff they were supposed to do. They put down a few table cloths, blew up 3 balloons for each table and brought a plain cake. He could've gotten a better cake at the grocery store. These people are Rip-off artists and should be avoided at all costs! read more

Get everything in writing when you book with Fama party center. So I want to start by saying Yolanda is a wonderful person. I hired her to do 2 arches for my 50th birthday party at a venue in park slope once that venue closed down, we needed to get one ASAP. She volunteered to decorate the new place with all my decorations I had purchased on my own plus the arches and balloons I purchased from her. We spoke many times before my event regarding how I wanted my party to be, I explained to her my vision and she gave me some wonderful ideas. My event must have overwhelmed her. When I arrived at my party half of what we spoke about was done. I walked into my event looked around and had a meltdown. All she had to do is call me and tell me what the situation was. NOT one call to let me know until I called her and her reply was she didn't have time. Really?? I paid her a lot of money to get it all done. A word of advice get it in WRITING!!!!! read more

We Had an old Empty ballroom, needed a fun & young feel for my son's bar mitzvah and wanted to support local business. With Fama and Yolanda, I scored on all fronts! Doesn't look like much when you walk by, but I needed an expert to help design my son's bar mitzvah. Yolanda, the owner of FAMA took the time to give me ideas and options, showed me videos and pictures of her other events. She invited my son to give her thoughts and choices. And we designed the perfect party fro my son. We had the tables done, the buffet table, a beautiful stage decorated, special candle ceremony table, photo booth, DJ, and candy table for the kids. In the end, we had an old yellow/brown, wall-papered ballroom in a very old synagogue turned into an amazingly elegant, warm, fun room where my guests ate, danced and enjoyed- and they had no idea what was behind the decorations, table cloths and chair covers! Even up to the very last minute Yolanda was professional, provided extras that made the day so special, and made me look like a seasoned events planner to friends & family! read more

This is a little overdue, but nonetheless I wanted to share my wonderful experience with this business. I am not from the area, but was hosting a party close by. I needed balloon centerpieces and admittedly waited until the last minute to call someone. Initially I called a ballon place right around the corner from my venue. It was a busy weekend for them and they refused the order even after a brief conversation revealed that the owner knew and interacted regularly with my family still living in the area....LOL...but ok, no problem. I then called Fama and the sweetest woman answered the phone, clearly busy and hurrying to get orders out. She asked me to give her an hour and call back when she could give me the proper attention. I totally respected her for that and you can bet I took the time to call her back when she would be less busy. She took my order and agreed to deliver the balloons for my party even though she also had tons of orders to fill like the first shop. The delivery went smoothly, on time, great prices and I highly recommend Fama for your party needs. read more

VERY happy with Fama -- I had a simple order but needed a Sunday morning delivery and was met with a cheery "no problem!" every step of the way. Delivery was on time, price was more than fair. Will happily use them again. read more

I had the ABSOLUTE worst experience with Yolanda the owner. I had a baby shower 2 years back and the theme was the lion king theme, for starters she arrived an hour late to my baby shower and was still decorating when my guests got there which was very unprofessional, because she was late she was rushing which caused her to drop my $200 cake on the floor "by mistake" the chair she provided for me and my husband to sit on was poorly made we didn't have any ribbons on it and we were missing the pillow to sit on, The balloons on my tables were not blown up fully and the baby shower gifts were poorly made and kept falling out of the boxes from the bottom every time I gave them to my guests... she turned one of the most important and special days for me into a nightmare... I highly recommend anyone looking to do business with her please look else where, she over charges you and the work that she does is absolutely not worth it read more
