During my time in…read moreNYC, A-Z was a frequent stop for me for just about everything under the event-planning sun. They're one of the few dedicated rental companies that can supply folks with the kind of ammo they'll need for an event in short notice. The woman who will likely answer the phone is here is Patricia, who is a straight shooter, no nonsense kind of person. She'll give you the low-down on what you'll need and can give you better suggestions than what you might already be thinking. If she doesn't have something that you want, she's more than likely going to know where you can find it. (#2) However, I find that email tends to work best with them. They have tents, tables, foldaway chairs, linens, dishware / china, umbrellas, helium tanks, chafing dishes, and all kinds of party favors. One thing I really appreciate is that they have platforms, like carpet runners, stanchions, and small stage for elevation. They have cotton candy / popcorn machines, and additional room dividers and partitions to help with the party layout. I appreciate that their prices are completely transparent on the website (#3) and self-pick up is free. Delivery is available for additional fees and they're not always on time. I would recommend getting in touch with them early and if delivery is the only way to go is to deliver at least 2 hours prior to event time. I realize this will result in higher prices, but it's the best way to ensure that things will go right. They will service all 5 boroughs, including Long Island. ____________ (#1) My fave. Invite me please? (#2) She'll probably just get it for you. (#3) http://www.azpartyrentals.biz/rates.html

Most importantly, when we complained about the missing supplies, they LIED and staged a photo of the machines in their warehouse including the supplies saying "this is how we received them back". I sent back a photo of the items as they were received and they never responded or refunded us the money, even though we couldn't use them. I would NOT recommend using this company.

Annie's features excellent items for those of all ages and stripes, which seem well curated, well organized, and vary delightfully in tone from the silly to the sublime. And while you can find very nice items here, prices tend to be fairly manageable. There's even a small enough assortment of home items--organic, bespoke soaps and laundry detergents and home supplies--that you can come up with a vague reason to visit even if not gift shopping and find a thing or two for yourself. One of the best aspects of Brooklyn in general--and Park Slope in particular, it seems to me--is the ability to rather easily find unique local shops to support. Annie's beautifully exemplifies this fortunate fact.
