A Delightful Balloon Experience That Floated Above Expectations!…read more I confess, I initially doubted the prowess of a small, independent balloon business in the hustle and bustle of NYC. Living in another state, I almost defaulted to a big chain store whose name I recognized, thinking they'd have a better selection and reliability. Boy, was I in for a delightful surprise! Instead, I googled "Best Balloons Delivered to Prospect Heights," and Sabrina's Creations popped up. Google was right about this fabulous woman-owned balloon business. She was a breath of fresh air. Reliable, attentive, and truly dedicated to making my vision a reality--at a very reasonable price, including delivery. I felt like I'd stumbled upon a hidden gem in the concrete jungle! Despite my worries about logistics, she delivered (literally) beyond my expectations. I gave her a four-hour window for delivery, and she impressively narrowed it down to just one hour, and then further to a half hour. And before heading out, she sent me a picture of the bouquet for any last-minute tweaks (you can see it at the top of her website-at least today)-it's the blue bunch of graduation balloons, including an inflated diploma!). Spoiler alert: it was perfect, and the recipient was over the moon! Her communication was great, her customer focus unparalleled, and her reliability unquestionable. She not only met my expectations but soared above them, restoring my faith in the magic of New Yorkers. I highly recommend Sabrina's Creations!

I called and was told that the driver was stuck in traffic. I asked when I could expect the delivery as it was for an event that evening and was told they would find out and get back to me. Another hour later, still no phone call, I called back and got voicemail. Not only did no one ever call me back explaining what was going on, no one ever came with the balloon delivery. And now, two days later, still no return phone calls with an apology, explanation... nothing.

Karen's has been recommended to my by several of my friends who have all had good experiences…read moredealing with her. Apparently many people have horror stories dealing with their invitation vendors, but this seems to be a good pick if you want a hassle free experience. I made an appointment for Sunday and spent almost 2 hours going through binders upon binders of samples. Karen was helpful, but not over bearing and didn't rush me to make a decision. They have a good selection and a decent range in prices as well. A few things that annoyed me: 1) She is not open on Friday evenings or Saturday. She told me she is usually not open on Sundays eigther and that she basically was doing me a favor. I was told to come in on a weekday before 7pm. I'm sorry but what wedding vendor isn't open on at least 1 weekend day? I understand the religious observances thing, but then Sundays she should be open. Its really inconvenient for me to have to rush from work and be stressed about getting there on time. 2) She could have been a little warmer about the whole thing...I was by myself and could have used some input. It's overwhelming enough to have to pick just 1 invitation from a million options, but not having someone offer you their opinion, or at least guide you through the selection process is them not doing their job. To me it seemed like it was more about my budget (which is obviously a big factor), but then show me your favorite's within my suggested price range and tell me what your best sellers are. I understand that invitations are an individualized thing, but if she's been in business for a long time I'm sure she has a lot of experiences dealing with people like me. Overall, good vendor I would suggest using her!

It was very hard to get in touch with Karen and we received our invitations late which caused…read moreawkwardness when we had to ask for RSVP cards back right away and we wanted to do B-list invitations. She pushed for a certain font and style on the invites but when we got our proofs, we ended up just going with our original requests - we had to pay for another proof and it created more delay in getting the final product. The store closed without warning for a week when we expected our invites and we were not warned how long it would take to assemble our invitations. She did make it a priority during the week the store closed to make sure we got our invites. However, when payment was wanted, we were rushed to pay and received no slack for the delay and lack of communication. Wedding planning is a stressful time and vendors that hold your hand instead of treating you like another customer are much more appreciated. Lesson learned is to plan invites very early in the process and expect delays.
