Best place to get hostess gifts, fun cards, and genuinely just feel happy inside a store. We love Awesome

As a member of the community, we love what the store offers and has cute gifts/ stuff for kids. They also hold nice workshops. However, the owners of this business could care less if they disturb their neighbors who reside in the surrounding area. They have gatherings in their backyard where people are simply screaming on a microphone. We understandably live in a noisy neighborhood, but nothing can compare to someone screaming on a microphone directly outside your bedroom window. The people who have performed have definitely gotten better, and we understand expressing yourself, but this could be done in the park and not subject your neighbors to the noise disruption. Especially if you consider your neighbors having babies, young children who go to bed early-ish, or elderly who can get startled from loud noises of this nature. The use of microphones are honestly unnecessary at times and just extremely inconsiderate. I anticipate getting some backlash for this, and want to mention I'm not leaving this review to go back and forth about it. But the owner should know how the surrounding neighbors feel about these loud events that occur bi-weekly. read more

Cute little shop with lots of Brooklyn swag (cups, stickers, coasters, tops, etc). There's also a lot of other little items that would be perfect as a gift for someone. I didn't buy anything while I was here because it was a bit pricey. There was also sooo much stuff that I felt a bit overwhelmed. The most perfect little shop in PLG. Awesome Brooklyn has every type of little Knick knack you can desire but artisan and crafted with love. I've gotten the most luxurious candles, astronaut ice cream sandwiches, and handmade beanies at Awesome. The staff are always so lovely and know the stock well. The store is so welcoming and the window is always well decorated. The store is also a key part of the PLG community and hosts events. Awesome Brooklyn is a MUST VISIT in PLG. read more

Fun Fact: This is one of my favorite gift shops in the area. In addition to Awesome having a wide variety of cute things, the woman who owns it is very sweet. I love visiting here so much that sometimes I pop by just to see if anything new came in. I discovered the store almost a year ago and they have become my go-to-place for anything and everything gift related. Vanessa has a keen sense of gift-giving and always steers me in the right direction when I stop by last minute, and in a panic (shopping for others in my mind equals stress). Their merchandise is unique, quirky and very open-minded, which is right up my alley. Every single purchase I've made (greeting cards, clothing, toys, electronics, etc.) have been thoroughly enjoyed by a wide range of recipients (loved ones, colleagues, acquaintances). This store fixes those kind of annoyances. I probably wouldn't buy something for myself here--the products are trendy, quirky, and broad. But the only time I've ever gone in there and hadn't found something was when it was for a teenage boy. And I can't fault the store for that!
