A fun shop that actually has well-priced goods. Features lots of local producers and artists and even hosts community events. I attended a class there and the owner even came up to me to ask how my experience had been. It's clear that everything there is really personal in a way that I really enjoy and I hope we don't lose in Brooklyn. read more

Awesome Brooklyn - Bonsai class in progress - Gift Shops Near Me - Brooklyn, New York

These are some of the biggest and brightest happiest people that you'll meet in the neighborhood. Every year I go to buy birthday presents for all of my family members, and all of my Christmas gift gifts are bought from this place. On top of all that I was pleasantly surprised to have found a community of creative thinkers and organizers who regularly host events inside the space which give a platform to the incredible talent that this neighborhood has fostered over the years! In the best thing is that they don't take themselves too seriously I am writing this review so that others understand that the owners are kind responsible people prepared to amend and understand any trespass or impasse, just message them on Instagram. https://www.instagram.com/awesomebrooklyn?igsh=MTJtNTZ1NXoyZDJ5Mw== @awesomebrooklyn read more

Cute little shop with lots of Brooklyn swag (cups, stickers, coasters, tops, etc). There's also a lot of other little items that would be perfect as a gift for someone. I didn't buy anything while I was here because it was a bit pricey. There was also sooo much stuff that I felt a bit overwhelmed. Check it out if you need a quick and unique gift for someone last minute. read more

Cute little shop selling a variety of gifts and trinkets. I was visiting my friend and wanted to buy something local from the neighborhood. I got a Brooklyn-made candle and a Feminist shirt for my daughter. They also have other kids toys, stationery, jewelry and games/books too. read more

As a member of the community, we love what the store offers and has cute gifts/ stuff for kids. They also hold nice workshops. However, the owners of this business could care less if they disturb their neighbors who reside in the surrounding area. They have gatherings in their backyard where people are simply screaming on a microphone. We understandably live in a noisy neighborhood, but nothing can compare to someone screaming on a microphone directly outside your bedroom window. The people who have performed have definitely gotten better, and we understand expressing yourself, but this could be done in the park and not subject your neighbors to the noise disruption. Especially if you consider your neighbors having babies, young children who go to bed early-ish, or elderly who can get startled from loud noises of this nature. The use of microphones are honestly unnecessary at times and just extremely inconsiderate. I anticipate getting some backlash for this, and want to mention I'm not leaving this review to go back and forth about it. But the owner should know how the surrounding neighbors feel about these loud events that occur bi-weekly. read more

This place is really wonderful. Great place for gifts, even for those hard-to-shop-for kind of folks. I like to stop by from time to time, even if I don't need anything, to see what's new in store. Great candle selection! They have a sister store a couple blocks south called "Awesome Home " worth stopping by also. There's an outdoor space there where they host events. Truly a great addition to the neighborhood. Shop local! read more

The Good: - Lots of funky, corky trinkets, cards and what not - Great for when you need a whisicle gift or card in a pinch - Very forward thinking, liberal and feminist - Staff is nice The Meh: - It's a pretty solid sign of gentrification in the neighborhood I grew up in - Serves a very niche market with no homage to the existing community - Reference the review by Gerard S. ... pretty funny yet spot on. - Kinda feel a way about a store named Awesome Brooklyn that doesn't reflect any of the struggle, culture and history of Brooklyn and/or Flatbush read more

I use to come here quite a bit when I lived in Brooklyn. The service here has always been good and they always had a good selection. Prices are reasonable, within budget. I feel they have a lot of very adorable things and good prices all around. Its worth checking out if you've never been. read more

The most perfect little shop in PLG. Awesome Brooklyn has every type of little Knick knack you can desire but artisan and crafted with love. I've gotten the most luxurious candles, astronaut ice cream sandwiches, and handmade beanies at Awesome. The staff are always so lovely and know the stock well. The store is so welcoming and the window is always well decorated. The store is also a key part of the PLG community and hosts events. Awesome Brooklyn is a MUST VISIT in PLG. read more

Fun Fact: This is one of my favorite gift shops in the area. In addition to Awesome having a wide variety of cute things, the woman who owns it is very sweet. I love visiting here so much that sometimes I pop by just to see if anything new came in. I'm glad that this place exists and if you know me well, you've probably received a birthday card from here at the very least lol. read more

I like this place. Every time I need to buy a present for my friends kids I go there and find something interesting!

I mean the name says it all.. it's an awesome gift shop with majority local goodies. I went here to buy some cards and gifts for an engagement party and obviously couldn't leave without buying stuff for my own house too. Puzzles, reusable food wrapping, socks.. you name it. Will be back again soon to check out what's new. Do yourself a favor and drop in! read more

Fun selection of knick knacks thoughtfully currated. Great place to go for a quick gift

This review is long overdue... 'Awesome Brooklyn' is indeed, awesome (I know, just couldn't help myself)! I discovered the store almost a year ago and they have become my go-to-place for anything and everything gift related. Vanessa has a keen sense of gift-giving and always steers me in the right direction when I stop by last minute, and in a panic (shopping for others in my mind equals stress). Their merchandise is unique, quirky and very open-minded, which is right up my alley. Every single purchase I've made (greeting cards, clothing, toys, electronics, etc.) have been thoroughly enjoyed by a wide range of recipients (loved ones, colleagues, acquaintances). It is needless to mention what a fantastic addition they have been to our beloved neighborhood. For the essence and spirit of the mom-and-pop shop is very much alive and thriving! read more

This little store has proved very useful to my household. Find out last minute that the bar meetup is actually a birthday dinner? Or your baby shower gift from Amazon is painted with lead and there's no time to reorder? Did the cat barf in a box of stocking stuffers you thought were in a safe place? This store fixes those kind of annoyances. I probably wouldn't buy something for myself here--the products are trendy, quirky, and broad. But the only time I've ever gone in there and hadn't found something was when it was for a teenage boy. And I can't fault the store for that! Aside from Fred products and the like, you can find items scattered in from independent artists--the rocks painted to look like products are particularly adorable. read more

I stumbled upon this little gem on my way somewhere else and I am SO glad I stopped in! This shop is super cute and full of awesome stuff like candles, shirts, jewelry, and the coolest children's books. I bought a copy of Kahlo's Koalas for my infant daughter and some amazing local candles for myself. The woman working there that day was extremely friendly. I'll definitely be coming back. read more

This place is so cute. There are just not a lot of little shops in Lefferts Garden to grab a simple gift for a party, or friends birthday. So in my opinion this place is a Godsend when I just forgot and can't wait for an online order. This is a cute store with tons of cute stuff. It's also a plus that it's mom owned. I am all about the momprenuers. I went in for a winter hat that I love. Had it stolen by sister and returned for two more. Great service! read more

Thank you for coming to the neighborhood! Awesome is one-stop shopping for unique gifts, cards, things for the around the house, and - best of all - balloons! The staff is warm and funny, and my 12 year old says it's "the only place where I feel like they want me to pick things up to look at them." Agreed! read more
