This holiday season, spend your money locally. Buy your kids something from the neighborhood. If you don't know where to do it, it's a good thing you're reading this review, because you should be going to Runnin' Wild. We've been coming in here since they used to do kids haircuts a few years ago, and even though that's not a thing any more, they've still got all the things. They've got shoes (boots for the season!), clothes, toys, scooters, games, balls, stuffies...all the things you want to give your kids for the holidays. Yeah, I get it. You may be able to get some of that stuff for a couple dollars cheaper on the internets (or you may not), and then you get to make a billionaire more billions. But you live in Brooklyn because you like it here. You like it here because of the amazing local businesses around. So buy your stuff here. This is a family shop, run by the nicest people, and if you want these things to stay, you need to keep your money local. Last time in, they asked my wife to come back and pick up the scooter for my daughter later on, because their best gift-wrapper wasn't there at the moment. They wanted us to have our gift wrapped right, and I appreciate that. We'll be back, over and over again. read more

I was searching for mini air inflatable balloons (non helium) & with party city being closed I didn't think I would find ANY! This place is god sent. Not only did they answer their phone at 10:03 am (3 minutes after opening) but the man on the phone was so friendly and accommodating. The price for 9 ballon's was so affordable, way cheaper than party city. In all it worked out perfectly. This place is amazing and has so many things for kids. Although I went to get something for an adult. I can not wait to bring my nephews here to buy them some toys, shoes & the cutest Knick nacks. Definitely check out this place if your in the bedstuy/clinton hill area. read more

Runnin' Wild Kids - Letter inflatable Balloons - Shoe Stores Near Me - Brooklyn, New York

Such lovely staff who are very patient with young toddlers great if you are looking for those first shoes

My wife and I stopped by after brunch today hoping to find a good pair of shoes for our 1yr old baby girl. Honestly it's been hard finding stylish shoes that fit. The manager/owner helped us out by first measuring her foot and then bringing up a few options. While she admitted to not having a large variety at the moment she assured us that she would have a larger selection by weeks end. Interestingly enough she brought l a beautiful lot of nikes that had a pink trim and we absolutely loved them! Decent price and really great quality you come to expect from Nike. We will def be back here for some more sneakers as the season progresses. Ps- they have a deal card that gets stamped and after buying 8 pairs you get the 9th one half off! read more

Runnin' Wild Kids - First Nikes!!! - Shoe Stores Near Me - Brooklyn, New York

I asked for help from the young sales guy while trying on my granddaughters shoes and I am not sure if it was the owner or who the other man was he came running over to tell me they weren't doctors and didn't touch children, she wasn't a baby and it was my job to help her with the shoes and to leave if I wasn't happy. He was rude, obnoxious and so aggressive that I quickly bundled my granddaughter up and left in a state of utter shock. I was happy another customer left with me telling me how shocked she was at his outburst and wouldn't ever buy shoes in the store. read more

We live on the Upper West Side, which has a lot of kids' shoe stores, but none of them are nearly as well curated as Runnin' Wild (we biked here on a friend's recommendation after a picnic in BB Park). Every pair of shoes in here is stylish and comfortable - my 3-year-old and 8-year-old both left happy. The chances of your kids falling in love with something hideous are greatly reduced if not eliminated here. Staff is awesome. The physical store itself (and the signage outside) weren't quite as stylish as the toys and shoes inside, so if I were just walking by it would be hard to tell what treasures lay inside. Would recommend some splurging on lighting and decor if possible read more

Well... if you feel that spending $40 on getting 10 balloons filled is within your budget (oh- we owned the balloons... AND it was Christmas Eve) then this joke of a place is for you. Not to mention they said this price was inclusive of a "special holiday discount" SO if you feel that spending upwards of $50 for 10 balloons, that you own, is your style then this place is just waiting to capitalize on you. We would have gone ANYWHERE else but it was the morning of our daughter's 1st bday and trusty CVS and other tanks we have hit up in the past, were empty :( In the name of celebration, we ate the expense but yikes- we will absolutely never return. There are plenty of local cute toy shops not gauging people and I'm happy to support them. Ps.They didn't even fill them all to max- Class act. (See images) Happy Holidays! read more

Great customer service! In this store!!! Can't wait to get Henry some new shoes in the future read more

I like this little store. Big enough to have some toys and gifts. Small enough to offer great service. Willl come back again.

Looks like a good store for kids' shoes, if your kid is old enough to wear them. Owner is very nice and helpful.

I want to keep this short and sweet so people don't get bored of reading my potentially very long rant. -Owner is extremely rude. -Selection is limited, -Overall customer experience is terrible. When the owner of the store is rude and unaccommodating it's very difficult to have a positive shopping experience. Had this been my first negative experience with him I'd just assume he is having a bad day. Suggestion: Become an absentee owner. read more

Made an excursion from deep in Queens over to BK. Took my daughter here for her very first hair cut. She is 4 years old and was very nervous about the idea. We were both so happy with the outcome and she had the most wonderful experience with Gigi the Hairdresser. Gigi made her feel very relaxed and comfortable. She was patient and did a really great job with my daughters hair. The staff in the store are very friendly as well! We will be coming back - Highly recommend. read more

So glad I found this place! Now I don't have to deal with the rudeness and cramped isles at Pizzazzz Toys. Took my daughter yesterday to Runnin' Wild Toys: Friendly sales staff, greeted with a smile. Spacious and kind...cant ask for anything more. They get it. Service and smile. Happy to spend money with you. Thank you! read more

Highly highly highly recommend!! I live in Queens and after an unsuccessful local search for kids shoes decided to head over to Brooklyn and found this amazing store. Walked out with two pairs of Natives and even bought a pair of Birkenstocks for myself. Definitely plan on returning and supporting this mom and pop treasure. read more

We love it here! So pleased to support a local business and we really appreciate the wonderful collection of toys. Plus, if you get a haircut it's the best. The store is wonderful and we don't know what we would do without it. Highly recommend. Thank goodness for a brick and mortar toy store. read more

My son had his first haircut here and it was so great. Margaret took just the right amount of hair off my toddler and she was so fast. We have now been back for a second cut and will be back again and again. She knows what she is doing with the kiddos. I've never realized how much skill is necessary for these toddler haircuts before! The second time around our son was not into getting his haircut and Margaret was great again, she tried many distraction tools and was very speedy. read more

Owners are very very nice and very helpful. Down to earth. Would def recommend just wish they had more of older girl selection.

So I took my daughter back to that store to get a hair cut. I got very disappointed when the NEW lady who doe the hair told me she won't take my daughter because we arrived late and she has other costumers. We were late for 20 min. Her appointment was at 12. She told if I want to wait, but she doesn't guarantee that she will have a time to do my daughter's hair. I have been bringing my kids to that place since 2017. Margret was an angel. She always maneuver her schedule and she never turned her customers away just because they arrived late. The owner doesn't even care about his/her customers. The owner doesn't care if the costumer leaves the store satisfied or not. All he/she cares about the money. I wont spend another dime at that store. If I were the owner of the store I would care about my costumers more than if ppl follow a proper Covid guidelines. I would more care if my costumer are getting good costumer service or if they leaving store satisfied or not. The owner should be ashamed because even one costumer can make a difference. I took my daughter to the other place. Other place was more professional and they showed excellent costumer service skills. Sorry not sorry. The costumer service went down at that toy store since they opened up again. read more

Margaret did such an awesome job on my 7 year old son Ronnie's hair today! He is on the Autism Spectrum and I've been cutting his hair myself for years, but it was time for an official big boy haircut! He's had a signature bowl cut for a while now, which Margaret promptly said we were going to fix. She has a TV with a wide variety of kids movies to pick from, and changed from Moana to Cars at my son's request. She knew all the songs and was very engaging with Ronnie, talking him through the cut, calling him a bunch of endearing names and telling him how handsome he is! She was very quick and listened to what I asked for. He didn't even watch his tablet, she was that good! Price was right too. Too bad we are moving out of state on Monday, otherwise we would be making Margaret our new hairstylist! read more

Great shoe store and very helpful staff. It was busy inside and raining outside and we still had a great experience. They were very sweet to my little boy and helped him get measured and pick out two very nice looking pairs of shoes. I would highly recommend this shoe store and will definitely be back! read more

I took my son to get a hair cut and Margret was amazing. My son just turned two and I don't have to tell you that he's difficult to keep still. She had great energy and managed to keep him calm the entire time while making sure he was very comfortable. Not only that, his hair cut was GREAT. 5 stars all around read more

I like this store. It may not have the hugest selection of toys on earth but you'll find a good gift here and the owners are really nice (especially the husband ). Gotta support the small guys! Also the hairdresser, Margaret, is amazing (as a person and hair stylist ). read more

I really want to support local businesses and I REALLY want to shop here...as in, every time my kid needs new shoes, we come here. And every time (except once) we have left empty handed. Their selection is cute but we have had terrible luck with them stocking our size...for both my kids in various sizes. Runnin' Wild...we want to support you. Please carry more sizes and we will definitely be back! read more

Best shoe store in the neighborhood. The owner is so focused on helping you get value from your child's shoes that he has actually told us once that my daughter's old shoes fit fine and she didn't need new shoes. Also, when we showed up just after he locked up for the night he opened back up and took good care of us, not rushing us out one bit. They carry all the usual brands and have competitive prices. Definitely my first stop when my kids need shoes. read more

The owner just kicked me and my 3 year old out of the empty store for reading a book for 10 minutes. We had shopped there before and had no problem but of course we never will shop there again. Funny I was just trying to convince my daughter to buy the book to read the rest of the stories at home. Her loss! What an awful kids store owner that does not understand at all what it's to be a mom of a 3 year old. read more

Stopped by on a Saturday afternoon and the two girls working were on their phones and didn't bother to look up. The space feels very cramped with shoes, but when you ask for a certain size they always seem to be out. The owner came barreling in while I was wondering the store and started barking orders at everyone. Not a place I would like to support. Plenty of other options in the neighborhood. read more

Runnin Wild has an average assortment and terrible customer service. They will help you find a(n ugly) shoe that "works" but they are inappropriate and rude. I will never shop there again. I was told I should learn how to back out of the door when I asked if someone could open the door for me and my baby in her stroller. There are too many stores and too many options online to deal with unprofessional "funny guys" read more

Simply the best kids shoe store in the universe, at least among those I've visited. It's not even an exaggeration to say that the owner will NOT TAKE MY MONEY if he doesn't think my son will get good wear out of a shoe. Since I'm sure he's turned away other sales, and because a good shoe store- especially a good kids shoe store- actually provides a valuable service that can't be replaced by an online store, I want to send some business his way to ensure that they stay in the neighborhood! read more

I fucking love this place. There is no other store with a staff that can actually calm my horribly behaved kids so that they actually like buying shoes. My kids actually want to go in the store when they don't need shoes just to see the staff. Their prices are very reasonable, the selection is excellent and the staff has the expertise and patience of a SWAT team negotiator. The only thing that would improve this place would be if I could leave my rotten kids (Lori and Bobby) there for 5 or 6 hours while my wife and I go out for dinner and drinks. read more

My daughter needed new shoes. The young lady Meghan helped my daughter find new cool sneakers. She was so happy to wear them to school the next day. Thank you If you ever need help finding new foot wear stop by and ask for Meghan read more

This store is great! Clean, great selection and friendly. plus, Margaret gives the best kids haircuts in Brooklyn. She's amazing! Cuts are cash only. read more

We happened to pass this Gift and Toy Store on Court St, near Carroll St, on our way to an event, around 7pm on a Friday night, and we were so grateful they were open because the birthday party was the next day! The staff were super helpful in finding an appropriate gift for our son's friend. They wrapped it in nice paper, provided a birthday card, and all within a quick 10 minute visit. The selection is for children up through age 8, but we found a cool gift for a 9 y/o too. Love this place read more

Great service, great shoes, great owners! I live in Staten Island and travel to Brooklyn to get shoes for my son. He loves it there. You get the service very few stores give today. They are very accommodating!! read more

We always enjoy our time in this store. It's very well stocked and organized. Staff is friendly and we LOVE Margaret for haircuts. AND the owner is a PS 58 mom who is supportive to the neighborhood and school community. Great place to shop! Go here! read more

We come here for my daughters haircuts (age 2). Margaret is fantastic. We had been to other places before finding her and would never go anywhere else now. She is the one person who consistently gives my daughter a good haircut. read more

Great store! the sales associate was very helpful. I bought my baby's first shoes there

Very puzzled by the reviews stating that the owner is rude. We had a completely different experience. This is a sweet little store with a nice selection of real shoes--not just character and light-up shoes. My son's feet are hard to fit, and the owner spent a lot of time helping us. He was very kind and patient with my kid, and made sure we bought the right pair--not the most expensive pair. Maybe some people are mistaking New York directness for rudeness? Anyhow, my son left absolutely loving his new shoes and overjoyed that he finally found shoes that fit perfectly. We will definitely be back! read more

Great store, super helpful owner. Purchased some shoes for the summer and will be returning for winter shoes. After buying several shoes online which my daughter refuses to wear I finally have learnt my lesson! read more

Have purchased plenty of footwear here for the kids, and the service is always friendly and helpful. Just wish they'd stock more sizes. Seem they never have the size I really need. Why is that? read more

I would never give this store my money. Young man working there was so rude and was also unkind to my kid. Touched my kids foot roughly and told me the size I wanted for his foot was wrong. Terrible service. I'd rather my kid go barefoot. read more
