The person in the store who helped us was very gracious, providing wipes and bandages and even doing some of the triage herself! A small, but well curated clothing boutique that suits the Fort Greene clientele. I always end up passing this place when I am on my way to catch the subway in Atlantic Terminal. Its nice to have this store juxtaposed to Atlantic Terminal. Everything inside the terminal is a chain and bland. I really like this store. And although there aren't many pieces here, each one has a distinct flavor and style. The store carries comfortable, organic clothing that also looks stylish. Brands like Stewart Brown, American Vintage, Cloth's Line adorn the racks here. They also carry Tretorn rain boots, which I like. Not those Hunters. Ugh. They also have accessories including bags, necklaces, earrings. Do check this place out. If you blink, you will miss it. But trust me, this place has a nice selection of stylish, comfy clothes. My sister and I absolutely love this store. It is pretty small, on the ground floor of a brownstone, and has the best stuff! They carry stuff like Velvet, Matta, Cotedelac and lots more. I've been introduced to a lot of new brands here. The style is cute/casual and prices are not too expensive. I always find cute things here and the people who work at Cloth are extremely helpful and friendly - not at all like shopping in Manhattan! This is one of my favorite stores and is definitely worth a visit. read more

I am at a distinct disadvantage (budget-wise) because I walk by this store each and everyday (twice, actually: to and from work). I notice when things change, and it's small and inviting enough for me to slow down when I walk past. Good, but limited selection of items (it is a small boutique, after all). Having said that, they do cater to a simpler aesthetic, making it easy to find something you want. I bought a cute pair of suede hightops, in a brand I was only vaguely familiar (and now a big fan) - Tretorn. Hooray for fashion self-discovery. read more

Cloth is lovely - not because I need anything in this shop, but because I want everything in this shop! I focused on the summer sale rack and the transitional season pieces. I found a number of pieces are that surprisingly "global" in fabric and textile design - Japan, India, Indonesia - with simple, clean, architectural drape and shape. The owner has a fine eye for such pieces which are hard to come by. Amanda was working when I dropped by and she is kind, helpful, really sweet - and she knows her merchandise inside and out.She's also a fine artist/painter, so her eye is fabulous. Btw: this is a fine place to buy unique items that can't be found in every other "Brooklyn" boutique in town because irony and hipsterism are held in check. Whew! read more

I have been coming here for many years to do birthday and holiday shopping for my wife, relatives, and friends; I keep coming back because the jewelry are wonderfully distinctive, unique, and varied in style, and the clothes are lovingly selected, beautiful, and made from rich fabrics. In addition to the clothes and jewelry, one can pick up accessories such as hats, scarves, belts, bags, and shoes with the same quality. The stock changes regularly, so subsequent visits may yield new finds. And when the gift doesn't fit or just does not look good after being tried on, the owner is happy to exchange for another size, color, or just something different -- I do admit to using this to my advantage when I can't decide what to purchase for a gift, and aim for "just close enough" so the recipient can use the store credit for some shopping fun. I have even been able to jewelry repaired, something I was particularly happy about because the broken piece was one of my wife's favorites. read more

I've passed this store many,many times and last Tuesday I decided to go into Cloth. Before I continue, I've learned to always trust my gut,trust the energy I feel. I entered the store and was greeted by a woman seated behind a table /desk. As I moved towards the clothing,I asked if they carried large sizes and was informed that,'our sizes are 0-10.' Well, I knew I would not be buying clothing because I'm a size14. I was struck by the size range she quoted because the store is in the heart of Ft Greene. Although very gentrified,the community is diversified and size 10 being the largest size speaks of who the preferred customer is. As I moved away from the clothes, I sort of expected her to get up and perhaps encourage me to look at scarves,jewerly, handbags...something? Or just engage in general friendly chat..NOPE! The woman remained behind the table/desk and as I moved towards the door she said,'sorry.' Sorry? for what? We are all responsible for the energy we bring to every space and encounter . It was clear, at least to me, the message she wanted to convey. Got it. read more
