This review is for New York City Birthday Clowns. I hired them for my son's birthday after first seeing them at one of his classmate's parties. Watching them in action at that party, I immediately thought, this is such a mom dream. When you're already doing all the heavy lifting--planning, decorating, picking the cake, invites, goodie bags, party favors--the idea of not having to worry about entertainment at all is such a relief. They offer different packages depending on how long you want them there--an hour, hour and a half, two hours, two and a half, three hours, and so on. What I really liked is that it's very all-inclusive. Two entertainers come out, and they bring everything with them. There's a magic show, cotton candy machine, music, balloon animals (swords and all), face painting, games, and their own speaker. They basically walk in ready to go, which honestly takes a huge load off your plate as a parent. After seeing them at my son's friend's party, I decided to book them for my son. I chose the 2.5-hour package, which was $549 total with a $100 deposit and the remaining $449 due later. They also recommend a $70 tip, which you can Zelle or give in cash. With everything said and done, I paid about $568 the day of. Now, this isn't really a complaint, but more of an honest note. The entertainers I saw at my son's friend's party were really engaging. The main guy kept the kids' attention so well, and there were three entertainers total at that party. For my son's party, we had two, and unfortunately the main entertainer we had just didn't engage the kids the same way. My son was turning six, and most of his friends were around four, five, six years old, and it felt like he struggled to really connect with them. He had them screaming and yelling a lot--which no parent really wants, especially when the kids are already hopped up on sugar--but without really holding their attention. Things also felt rushed. Guests were still arriving, the party had just started, and he jumped straight into cotton candy, then tried to move into games. Once kids get sugar, it's kind of downhill from there. Some of the jokes also went over the kids' heads--these are little kids, they're not getting Friends references or adult humor. I don't think Kevin was bad, but a few of the parents also mentioned that they didn't really love him. It just felt a bit off, especially compared to what I had seen previously. That said, overall, I still think New York City Birthday Clowns is a great option if you're looking for all-inclusive entertainment. They accommodate large groups, they come to you, and they truly bring everything, which makes party planning so much easier. Just be sure to read the fine print. For example, if there's no parking provided and they have to park at a meter or on the street, you're responsible for that. There are a few little things in the contract that are good to know ahead of time. At the end of the day, I think it really comes down to who you get as your entertainer. If you get someone super engaging, it can be an amazing experience. It is a bit costly, but the convenience of not having to worry about entertainment at all definitely makes it appealing. All in all, solid concept, very convenient, just be mindful of the details--and hope you get someone who really knows how to keep a room full of sugar-fueled kids locked in.

Maybe that's why no one else stayed back to clean to your standards after everything was removed. I will not post it, but simply mention it because we're both adults and I'm sure you're aware of your behavior and the goal is not to embarrass but enlighten you. I'm not unfair in the sense that you were frustrated for the reasons you are claiming, however your anger was misplaced and directed towards the WRONG INDIVIDUALS. The person/team that booked you, these are issues that you speak directly to them. Not go on an uncontrollable rampage of misplaced anger and blame on anyone and everyone within your view. You don't criminalize a bystander for something they did not do. As a grown man you should know better than to scream at women that way even if that wasn't your initial intentions. Myself and those you behaved that way with were not responsible for everything you're clearly upset about. If you're talking about safety precautions, and the usual banter most businesses use to salvage their reputation, doesn't apply to what my complaint is. It is your behavior is what made most of the females in attendance feel unsafe, uncomfortable and disrespected. And as far as how long you've been in business for, I live a few blocks away literally, you're not well known in a positive light. Refer to the other reviews with similar experiences in a different context. I am sorry you feel that way, but as someone in attendance I'm entitled to share my experience whether it's positive or negative. Hopefully you can take your behavior into consideration and account for your future clients, and I do actually wish you well. I can understand when someone is frustrated but that doesn't excuse accountability for your actions.

His father originally owned a balloon store, and I met Michael when we were both young (we might be around the same age) because he would come with his dad to deliver balloons for my birthday at a young age. Now, all these years later, Michael is still the one making my birthdays special-except this time it was my 40th! There is something so special about seeing him continue his father's legacy and keep this a true family business. My family has been getting balloons from their family for decades, and I absolutely love that the tradition has continued through generations. And my 40th setup was AMAZING!!! The balloons, the personalized board, all of the nautical details, and the light-up 40 came together perfectly. He completely understood my vision and made it even better than I pictured. It was one of the first things everyone saw when they walked into the party and it was absolutely beautiful. There are plenty of places you can order balloons from, but this is different. There is history, family, and so much heart behind what Michael does. From delivering balloons for my birthdays when we were kids to creating this incredible setup for my 40th... it really came full circle. My mother and I suddenly found ourselves scrambling to find a beautiful backdrop on very short notice. I reached out to Michael, and I'm so glad I did. Even though he was fully booked for the day of my wedding due to the last-minute request, he still went out of his way to come the day before and set everything up. During drop off, the caterer also provided printed instructions that they just either didn't read, or outright ignored. They served pork sliders to our vegetarian guests even though the instructions and menu stated they were pork. During dinner service, they just ignored the provided instructions and menu and just decided to mix meat and shrimp into some vegetarian dishes - so we had to throw out tainted food, which was a waste of our money. Some tables barely got any food, other tables didn't eat until almost the end of the night. On top of that, one of the waiters called my wife directly to tell her that he would be late instead of contacting the wedding coordinator (we provided the coordinator info specifically to them so that he wouldn't be bothering the bride on the day of). We took a lot of time to get the menu right and provide detailed instructions to the staff, and they completely botched it. Not only that, but they had to throw out food because we took very specific care to ensure dishes didn't have allergens in them. It's fortunate that none of our guests had allergic reactions or anaphylaxis - this is the food service industry, and wholly unacceptable. Hiring these people put a huge damper on our otherwise wonderful celebration.
