RUN before there are lines out the door! I've found a cardamom bun that rivals my long-standing affection for the Fabrique's one, from a little-known bakery in Brooklyn. And I had to come twice just for this pastry: BLACK SESAME & OSMANTHUS ROLL.   Eater has recently recognized Breadivore as the next-hype bakery. Located on a quiet street in Park Slope, it is very low-profile compared to other viral bakeries in Brooklyn, but their bread and pastries are definitely top notch.   The space gives cozy vibes with some comfy seatings and long display shelves. They sell mostly French artisan bread and pastries, but some with an Asian influence.   ＊Black Sesame & Sweet Osmanthus Roll $6.25 Inspired by black sesame tangyuan, the owner blends flavors she'd grown up with into European baking. It was nutty, slightly savory from the black sesame and floral from the osmanthus syrup. I really liked the flakiness and subtle sweetness. They only do one batch every day. It was sold out when I arrived at 10:30 on a Sunday, so I tried my luck again on a Friday morning. So worth it! ＊Cardamom & Cinnamon Bun $6.25 The bun was still warm when I got it, spiced with cardamom and cinnamon. It was shaped into elegant knot of laminated dough. The laminated layers made it special, with a glazed top sprinkled with Swedish pearl sugar, and a soft, fluffy center. From this day onward, a regular cardamom/cinnamon bun could never satisfy me anymore. read more

We shared the black sesame kouign amann, the classic croissant, and the aged cheddar roll. The kouign amann was thick and had almost a doughnut like texture. Pretty rich too. I'm still seeking at pastry more similar to what is served at Kouing Amann Bakery in Montreal. Croissant was my favorite. Light and flakey. Would be a go to spot for me if I lived nearby. At this point NYC has to have surpassed Paris as the best croissant city in the world. The cheddar roll was an interesting savory pastry. Robust and tangy bites of cheddar mixed in with some peppery bites as well as some thick doughy bites. It was like three in one with the variety. This pocket of Park Slope has become one of the best destinations for bakeries in NY! read more

I found myself saying "and" a lot when I was placing my order. I scared myself when I left with five pastries. I don't regret it because they were all amazing. Mustard pretzel was still warm! It was not overly salty like most recipes. I saw mustard seed but I didn't taste mustard. I was fine with that, I never thought mustard seeds had a strong flavor anyways. It was soft and fluffy - better than some I had in Germany. Ham & Aged Cheddar Croissant was so pretty! I couldn't ignore the lamination and deep dark coloring. I loved that I really tasted the cheddar. Egg Cup was surprisingly bread-like. The exterior was crispy. I tasted alot of the egg, chive and cheese. Black Sesame & Osmanthus Roll had a strong sesame flavor. It was fluffy on the inside and crispy on the outside. Brie & Fig Preserve Danish was surprisingly my favorite. They don't skim on the brie - it's a chunk in the center topped with fig preserve. It was a good mix of sweet and savory. I want to give a shoutout to the gentleman and Cixiu Gao for working with a strong sense of urgency on a weekend morning. The bakery was already half filled with customers and groups started to come in. Needless to say that when I was leaving, the line was getting long. read more

The black sesame kouign amann got me here and it's wonderfully nutty and caramelized, but I'm a savory fan at the end of the day. The butternut squash cheese thyme swirl is where it's at! Addictive with perfectly pillowy and moist interior, and outside with just enough crunch. (I'm so sick of twice/over baked viennoiserie these days.) Y'all are so busy waiting in line at [The 7Th Ave Bakery That Shall Not Be Named] that you're sleeping on the absolute best bread store in Park Slope! Breadivore is not only superior in quality and price, but it's typically got little to no wait. Their pretzel buns are to die for, there's also a mustard pretzel stick that rules. Big fan of their brioche and other sweeter things, but honestly even their straight up loads of bread are next level. Fancy guest chefs not needed, the nice folks here are just as talented. I almost didn't wanna review this place and let the secret out, but honestly they deserve all the love. Seriously, don't bother with Parjs Baguette down the block or yet another overpriced loaf at Winner and walk on over to Breadivore. Get on over here people, next time I stop by I wanna be annoyed cause there's a big line and everything is sold out! read more

Really nice little bakery. Their cookies are so good! The peanut praline is delicious, if you're a peanut butter lover this is a don't-miss. The chocolate-chip/coconut is chewy and dense (interesting flavor), and the browned butter financier was a somewhat plainer cookie IMO, but goes nicely with a cup of coffee. The people who work here seem really sweet and thoughtful. So far I've just gotten stuff to go but I'd like to stay and sit down in there sometime. Their hours seem pretty convenient compared to a lot of other bakeries, so that's really nice too. read more

The secret is out on this spot! Breadivorr carries sweet and savory breads and pastries that are worthy of the detour. I like to go on a Saturday morning and pick up a few different things to try. The sweet pastries aren't too sweet and everything that I've tried has been very good. They make an excellent Kouign Amann which is still hard to find in NYC! read more

Finally had a chance to walk in today to this little gem of a bakery. Having so many competitor bakeries in the neighborhood, this place deserves a review as a standout. Their pastries are a step above the others in quality. Not too sweet, very fresh. They have the "crownie" which is a croissant and a brownie. The breads - the bordelais (sourdough) in a variety of flavors, the baguette, all very tasty. Service is excellent. Please give this place a try and stick with it! The only feedback I have is for the owner - please consider putting some wall sconces (can be plug-in or LED at 2700K) along the wall near the front of the store. Make sure the lighting is warm not the white light like in a hospital. The place needs more light to be cozy; and warm, mid-level lighting can entice passer-bys to walk in. I see this as a flaw in many otherwise great restaurants when they don't have good lighting, they can lose customers. Thank you! read more
