I found this cafe when while browsing Google Maps looking for pastries. I was intrigued by their…read morebreakfast deal which was $14 for a drink, sandwich, and a pastry! I preordered on the website for the pink matcha drink, spicy salmon banh mi, and strawberry croissant. When I first arrived, I was awed by how beautiful the place was! It was beautifully decorated with cute tables and chairs and florals. My order was also ready for pick up and I enjoyed it at one of the cute tables. The place was also incredibly busy, nonstop people coming in during the time I was there. Now back to the food: the pink matcha was cute! But the taste was a bit strange for me. It was mostly a tart fruit maybe a mix of blueberry and raspberry? And you could barely taste the matcha. It tasted more like a fruit smoothie almost. The spicy salmon banh mi was on sour dough bread, the bread was so good. Inside had salmon and pickled carrots but it wasn't really spicy at all. Still, it tasted pretty good. My favorite was the strawberry croissant. It was actually smaller than I expected but I think I like this size. It's a perfect snack and sometimes big croissants can be overwhelming. It had the perfect strawberry and cream filling inside that was not too sweet. I can't wait to come again to try their other sandwiches and pastries. Also everything is kosher is which great!

I wanted a simple pastry to enjoy with my caffeinated beverage. I was about to get a slice of banana bread when something called sochnik caught my eye. The lovely barista informed me that they were delicious and their most popular pastries and I can definitely see why. Here is the definition from Google. A sochnik (plural: sochniki) is a traditional Russian and Eastern European baked pastry made from a soft, tender shortcrust or scone-like dough folded into a semi-circle and filled with sweet farmer's cheese or quark (tvorog). This was simple yet delicious. A flaky buttery outside with sweet farmers cheese inside. It paired spectacularly with my oat milk Cappucino.

I am very disappointed with the customer service I received today at Wheatfield Bakery, located at…read more1315 Avenue U, Brooklyn, NY 11229. A group of five of us visited the bakery today. Each of us purchased at least $30 worth of bread and pastries, and I also spent about $20 on desserts and drinks. Our total purchase was well over $100. After sitting in the bakery for about ten minutes, one of my friends still had half of her pastry left. Unfortunately, we had already thrown away our utensils. She politely asked an employee for a plastic fork so she could finish the pastry on the way home. The employee responded in a very unfriendly manner and said that forks are not provided for takeout orders. We explained that the pastry had originally been eaten in the bakery and was simply unfinished, and that we had all purchased a large amount of food to take home. Nevertheless, she refused to provide even a single fork. What disappointed us most was not the fork itself, but the attitude. After spending more than $100, it was surprising to be denied a simple plastic fork and treated with such inflexibility and lack of courtesy. We have always enjoyed Wheatfield Bakery's products, but customer service is just as important as good food. I hope management will take this feedback seriously and remind staff that small acts of kindness can make a big difference in a customer's experience. A plastic fork costs only a few cents, but good customer service is priceless. Unfortunately, this experience left us feeling unappreciated as customers. We hope Wheatfield Bakery will review its customer service standards so that future customers are treated with greater courtesy, respect, and common sense.
