They have a lot of variety of buns and breads. It was busy when I went in around 10a. It must be popular with locals. They had one of my favorite types of buns; the red bean paste bun. It looked good and it was $1.50. It was yummy. I didn't know who to ask to check out. Eventually one of the ladies behind the counter took my order. I paid and left.

I occasionally stop by for their dim sum, fresh rice rolls, congee, egg tarts, and their rice balls. Everything is generally fresh and satisfying for a casual meal or snack. They also take phone orders, and you can pick up your food at the window, which is convenient. Just be aware that service moves at its own pace. The staff can come off as rude or abrupt, so if you prefer attentive or warm service, this place might not be for you. There are very limited seating inside, more of a grab and go kind of place. Cash only. Overall, it's a reliable bakery in the area for a quick and affordable bite. They can get busy, and lines may form during peak hours.

Of course the line was out the door on the popular holiday. But coming here would only make my trip to Bensonhurst worth it. The line moved fast. But it was easy to be overlooked by the staff through the abundance of easter baskets and glass windows. The overwhelming options brought out the inner fat kid in me. Because it all looked sooooo good. My go to pastry at a place like this is cannoli. My wife love rainbow cookies. Overall this is the best cannoli I've had in a very long time. The cream was to perfection. The crust was baked to the right crisp with the exact amount of firmness and not no burning. The rainbow cookie was not overly sweet. The cake was moisute with a perfect balance to sweetness. It held well with every bite. My wife also said this was the best shes had in awhile. My daughter loved the lobster tail. It had a light exterior texture to every bite. The cream was nice with a hint of nutmeg. The chocolate mousse was decadent. There was a liquer to the chocolate that gave a lot of depth to the chocolate smoothie texture. Will certainly come back. And spread the word. This is not only an institution but a landmark.

Plus their baked goods are delicious! Two stand outs are the black sesame Swiss rolls and the durian cream puffs. It's been a year since my last review, and I think they improved the black sesame flavor. A full Swiss roll was $28 and so worth it. The durian cream puffs has a chunk of durian in it and the choux was crisp. Durian cream puffs sell out often. The chestnut mini cake is super cute, and honestly, it's hard to find chestnut flavored things here anymore. If I had to label this bakery anything, it would be the Chinese bakery that has all the nostalgic flavors with modern takes. Most Chinese bakeries by here don't do black sesame, durian or chestnut anymore. And this place does it well, and they're nice. NOTE: to order, they prefer WeChat. My ordering snafu happened bc I tried calling and there was a language miscommunication between WeChat/text messaging. WeChat is the easiest way to place orders.

We ordered a custom cake for my niece's 12th birthday, and it was honestly one of the best custom cakes I've ever had. Most custom cakes tend to have a denser, tougher sponge, but this one was incredibly fluffy, bouncy, and perfectly balanced, most importantly not too sweet. The texture reminded me of the amazing cakes I've had in China, and I haven't found anything like it here until now. We also tried their fresh mochi filled with whipped cream and mango, it was so light and melts in your mouth! The mochi skin had just the right chew and reminded me of the fresh mochi I had in Taiwan. Even their mini hot dog bun was super tasty! Every item we tried was a hit. I'll definitely be back here!
