Wonderful and flavorful cakes that are perfect for celebration! Came here for our birthday cake for our daughter and they always came out perfectly! Their cupcakes were also decorated very beautifully, and the taste is amazing as well. Their service is always on point and they're friendly and on-time with your order! I only gave her 24 hours to customized the cake and she execute it perfectly. The only downside for me was the outside cream was hard and not a soft cream. I know she needs to do that to stabilize the cake. $95 read more

E's made our wedding cake and it was the best decision. We sent a picture of what we wanted and went with the fresh mango cream flavor. Not only was the price quote the best we found out of 5 places we inquired with, but the cake turned out exactly like we wanted and our guests couldn't stop raving about how delicious it was. Most wedding cakes are only there for appearances and usually taste dry and boring, but the mango cream and fresh mangoes were so unique! According to my good friend Sharon L, she said "E's Cake Shop" is next level? Whaaaaat?! Obvi, I had to check this place out. And since I had Lunar New Year dinner in Brooklyn last week, I saw it as THE perfect opportunity to order a cake. I preordered a fresh cream cake with taro & vanilla sponge cake a few days in advance. I picked a hybrid of 2 designs (year of the bunny & ombre) and I let E's work their magic. Dude, that taro was so light and the vanilla sponge cake was SO fluffy. Like my friend said, E's TRULY takes it to the next level. So do yourselves a favor - support local biz & order a damn cake. Trust me, it'll be worth every penny! read more

Clean establishment, fresh fluffy cakes, great customer service (so far) and a seamless ordering experience as you can do it in person, online, over the phone, or WeChat. Responses are usually in a timely manner (same day). If you're looking for a regular cake or personalized cake then this is the place! With so many designs to choose from, theres bound to be a design suited for your occasion/person and if not, they can create it! If you're worried about your dream cake coming out looking nothing like your photo, don't worry as they are very skilled at replicating pictures and executing designs. Do keep in mind that the personalized cakes are a bit pricier and theres tax on it. read more

If you're looking for a birthday cake, E's Cake Shop has creative designs and bouncy sponge cakes! I've ordered their cakes via Direct Message on Instagram, and it's always a simple and quick process. I tend to choose designs that they've posted on their Instagram so they know exactly what I want. The first time I ordered from here, they didn't do the design I wanted because they said it wasn't written on the cake order by whoever I was DM'ing with. However, I showed them the conversation and they offered to fix it with the correct design. Surprisingly, I only had to wait 15-20 minutes for the fix, and it looked like the real deal! They seem to be very popular with their fondant cakes, but I like their non-fondant ones more. My husband had ordered a totoro fondant cake for me recently and the sponge cake inside all the fondant was quite small, yet it was the better-tasting part of the cake. read more

I gotta support my local girl E. My friend is a ride or die for E's cake shop and I finally convinced my aunt to go with me. Heh. I love the fruit cakes, they were so beautiful. I ordered an 8in passionfruit mousse cake through the phone one day before I went to pick up. However, at pickup the lady asked if I had an order number but I never received one when I placed the order. I gave her my name instead and it was fine. The cake cost $52, $56 after tax. The family enjoyed it especially because it's not too sweet. The passionfruit was very fragrant once we opened the box, love the intensity of it! The mousse is thick, pretty sure it's from the gelatin. The layer of passionfruit on top was super concentrated and flavorful. The sponge cake was thin but soft. Interior of the store is simple and clean. Overall, I would recommend this place for its good quality and flavor. read more

Excellent service & delivered exactly what I asked for. The cake was beautiful. Very knowledgeable and great at suggestion. For me this wasn't a big deal since I'm not a sweets person: but if you're guest really love sweet cakes then maybe this isn't for them. It's very bland in flavor. Not your typical sweet cake. More of a traditional Chinese sponge cake. Light on sweetness. Overall on appearance, and service , 10/10 read more

Ordered a cake here for a friends birthday and they have alot of design options available and yoh are able to tweak it according to your liking and for the style I chose which was a custom design it was 6" for $60 and 8" for $80 which I thought was very reasonable (custom cake ain't cheap) and it was comparable to the other custom cake shops that I normally go to. Their cake here is really good, fresh and moist. I ordered a green tea cake with green tea cream and strawberry... strawberries weren't in season so it wasn't their fault that it wasn't super sweet but I was actually able to taste the green tea and the green tea in the cream... the taro cake that another person ordered from the same place was a hit with everyone also... the design I initially chose I didn't like certain aspects of it and asked that they remove certain things... and gave them free reign they customized it and made it even better. The funny part is that I couldn't read the Chinese writing but thank god it was appropriate I would recommend paying cash instead I realize they charge tax if you pay with card a week after when I checked my cc statement.. read more

Ever since E's opened, my family has ordered a cake from them for every occasion. My brother usually places the order, and has become a regular here. We usually place orders 1-2 days in advance, but we've also ordered on the day of, and E's always delivers a perfect final product. The fresh cream cakes here are to DIE FOR. I've always been a fan of chinese bakery cakes, but E's is next level. Everything about the cake is incredible - the cream is SO light and fluffy, the cake is soft and airy, and the fruit is sweet and thoughtfully arranged. I can easily devour half a cake and not feel as guilty as I usually do with other cakes. And remember, the best part of adulting is that you don't need an occasion for cake. This is your sign to get a cake!!!! read more

I really do not want to give E's Cake anything lower than a 4-star rating. E's Cake has been my go-to for all my custom cakes the past few years. I'm not sure if they are just overly busy nowadays but this is the second time in a row that they got my cake wrong. I didn't make a big deal for the previous cake since it still worked for my purpose and theme. Plus, it's the first time that they made a mistake compare to all the other times that I left as a satisfied customer. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and went back to them this time for my baby shower cake order. But they made a HUGE mistake this time and it was really upsetting for me. I asked for light green and blush pink colors for my cake and cupcakes. I went in person to place my order, explained the colors clearly to the lady, and sent her a sample photo (see attached photo) for reference. On the day of my baby shower, I received pink & BLUE cupcakes (see attached photo)! I am having a baby girl and blue is the worst color I can have at my baby shower! The cake and cupcakes were delivered to the venue the day of my event and there was nothing I can do. Not only did the desserts not match my theme but guests were questioning why the cupcakes were blue (they know I'm having a girl). The venue even asked if I was doing a gender reveal! I was utterly disappointed and I just don't understand how they could've gotten the color wrong. This is a HUGE mistake and I will forever have to look back at my baby girl baby shower photos and see the blue cupcakes. read more

Ordered a customized fondant cake, gave them a pic of what i wanted and did not turn out exactly the way I asked for. The oreo filled sponge cake itself tasted good though. Also ordered customized sugar cookies and macaroons. The sugar cookie was the worse, it had no flavor and tasted so bad, so skip these, and not to say they cost $5 each. The macaroons were wayyy too sweet, it was plain and did not taste good either, also for looks. Their cupcakes were plain and very dry. The flavor tasted artificial. Skip everything else, just order their buttercream whole sponge cakes. read more

Our son's 1st birthday cake came out absolutely PERFECT!!! We cannot say enough about the amazing job Kelly and her staff did for our baby boy's cake. As our son's 1st birthday approached, we began our search for a custom cake shop. We contacted a few in the South Brooklyn area, but none of them could create the design we wanted with the ingredients required or either they were just too expensive with a lot of question marks. When we first contacted Kelly through their listed number, we were unsure of how to begin the process, but she worked with us through WeChat as we submitted to her our own rendering of the cake and similar designs. She sent us a menu for custom cakes that they had, which included the different ingredients that could be used. She sent us a menu for a Butter Cake and one for a Sponge Cake. For the Butter Cake menu, she had the flavors that she could make listed for the cake, as well as, the cream. For the Sponge Cake, she also had the Sponge Cake flavors listed plus the fresh cream filling flavors and the type of filling we wanted. The fact that she had a custom cake menu made it all the more easier for us to make decisions on the interior of the cake. On the day that I picked up the cake, I arrived at their shop at 11AM. Apparently, there had been a miscommunication on the timing of when we were going to pick up the cake during the day, BUT thankfully, our cake was already made! Whewwwwwww! Kelly and her staff brought the cake out, showed me the details of it and I was flabbergasted at how closely it resembled our rendering/vision of it! I couldn't have been happier with how it came out when I was in the shop. The exterior of the cake was an A+, how about the interior you might ask? Well, we ordered a custom green tea sponge cake with vanilla fresh cream and strawberry filling. For those familiar with special occasion/birthday sponge cakes sold at Chinese bakeries, the interior's texture won't surprise you. And, honestly, my expectations were average for the interior because I've had these type of sponge cakes before for celebrations. Also, I was more concerned with the presentation of it, but once again, I was SHOCKED at how good the cake tasted. The green tea flavoring with the vanilla fresh cream and strawberry filling was excellent. It was maybe the best sponge cake I have ever had, flavor wise. It was so good, we had members of our family go for seconds of the cake, which they never do, and they asked where we got the cake because it was so good. Kelly and her team came through for us big time and we cannot thank them enough for the professionalism of the custom cake. We will DEFINITELY be contacting them again if we ever need a special custom cake! read more

I've heard of this cake shop from family and friends, who said nothing but praises. It is a small business, unlike franchises like Tours Les Jour or Paris Baguette. Prices are much cheaper than the franchises, especially since they're able to customize the cake as well too. I ordered the green tea cream cake with mixed fruit filling. It was for my grandpa's birthday so I wanted a customized cake and they were able to accommodate the design at no additional cost. I believe the total was around $65 for a 10-inch cake. Terrible customer service from the two young workers in the front. An asian guy and an asian girl with glasses who is always either on her phone or ipad the last few times I was here. During special occasions, it can be stressful trying to get things right. For my son's first birthday, we scoped around many different places with a wide range of pricing. We found E's Cake Shop through Instagram and saw the wide variety the provide. After a few swift messages, we headed over to their store. The head baker Kelly was very accommodating. She listened to my requests, led me through a seamless path of options of flavors, ingredients, and recommendations. Fast forward, she was punctual and had it all boxed and ready. The outcome was great! It's not easy making their fondant figures all by hand! The cakes were delicious with the top tier being Matcha green tea cake w fresh strawberries and base tier being mango cake with fresh mango!! The macarons were delicious and brought me back to being a kid tasting the orange creme pop! Highly recommend and def will be back! Thank you E's Cake shop read more

My mom found this place from wechat or fb idk. She ordered a birthday cake here last minute...2pm for 6pm pickup. They were accommodating with the request in terms of color and design. I was surprised by its appearance. It's objectively pretty and no major flaws (can compare with Audrey's which I think is a bit messy in their craftsmanship). No pic but it had pink/purple gradient cream with pink flowers on top and some silver beads. There were a few pink macarons too. There was a birthday sign on the cake and a name sign put on the cake base. It was a vanilla cake base with mixed fruit filling. Everything was fresh and not too sweet... to a point it was tasteless. At least it was soft. Overall this place is worth going for the aesthetics and no problems in flavor. Points added for the service and flexibility. $55 is aight. Not 5* yet because of the flavor. Would I want this for my own birthday? Probably not. read more

Fortunately for this "cake shop" the lowest I can give is 1 star. A simple gender reveal cake order placed over a month ago was not done when it was time for pickup. They were made aware that the woman that was being surprised was the one picking it up. Upon pickup they had a disgusting attitude and proceeded to show instagram DMs between them and the person who placed the order in an effort to try to push the guilt onto someone else. In doing so they carelessly and quite stupidly revealed the gender on the spot and ruining something that took time effort and money to plan. They then tried to offer the cake within 30 minutes with no offer of even a discount just to offer $15 cash back on a $100 cake. To add onto their more than questionable choices thus far they then texted the mother to be AFTER they had left the store telling them they couldn't make the cake pink even further spoiling the surprise. Careless thought process, and just straight up stupid, and you can find better cakes quite literally anywhere. All the positive reviews are people just being nice or friends. I strongly urge you to stay away and look for a real bakery that'll pay attention to the customers they're serving. Absolutely pathetic excuse for a bakery. read more

Came here a few years back for custom cake, decided to do the same this year. Boss lady let's me choose from her iPad gallery of all the pretty designed cakes. There's a few selections for sponge cake, mousse, and fresh creme cakes. Decided on fresh fruit sponge cake with lavender creme, with customize top design. Told boss lady when I needed the cake, and agreed on the time for pick-up. Finished product came out beautifully decorated and elegant, my mom was delighted. The taste of the cake was a bit soggy on the inner fillings and cream mixed together with the fruits. Overall, price is a bit above average. Their Macaroons taste good. read more

I worked with Kelly to secure pretzels, macaroons, and cake pops for my daughter's birthday. Everything came out great and delicious.

My friends surprised me with a beautiful lavender "donut"-themed birthday cake from here. And it was sooo cute! The presentation was on point from the shade of the color to the donut and lavender flower decorations. I would have to say they definitely nailed it on the aesthetics. The cookies n cream sponge cake was also light, soft and not too sweet. Great for a traditional Chinese family that doesn't like things too sweet. But for me, I think the flavor was lacking. But again, I think this place is more known for the decorations so I give 5 stars :) read more

I order the cake a couple times and they did not follow what I wanted. Gave me something I dont want and cant eat.

* the rating is due to error on name* I ordered a cake for my son's 100 days celebration a week in advance along with some other items from the shop. The lady that took our order was very nice and offered her suggestions. She showed me various pictures of cake designs and we finalized on an animal theme. Fast forward to the day of pick up, I sent my brother to pick up the cake and we opened the cake box at the venue to realize that they misspelled my son's name. His name is OLIVER, and the cake had " OLLVER". In hindsight, my brother should've checked the name before he left the shop. At the end of the day, the cake was tasty, it was moist and fluffy. The design was cute. BUT now we have OLLVER in all our cake pictures..... if it wasn't for the name error, I would rate it 3.5-4stars since the cake was really good. read more

The day of upon picking it up, I thought they pulled the wrong cake out the box cause it looked absolutely nothing like the design I wanted. I was offered $15 off the cake or my money back with no cake. I obviously couldn't accept the cake like that and unfortunately couldn't get my friend the cake she wanted. I'm highly disappointed in this bakery as I've ordered customs multiple times and this was one of the simpler designs. If they weren't able to do it they should've just said it from the beginning instead of wasting my time. The women in the front explained that they have different bakers who do different designs, which makes no sense. During the beginning of October I was looking for a birthday cake for November. I plugged in custom cakes that I could order that was close to the birthday girl's home which is how I found E's! I messaged the shop via Instagram for a custom order. I asked for a printed picture in the center and very specific designs for the cake. I also showed pictures from their Instagram of their past cakes they did, asking for similar designs. I was able to pay via PayPal thankfully since we are still fighting a pandemic, but I believe they accept other apps for payment. I am giving 5 stars, but I did have some problems. There were two missing designs, one being a name plague and the second being edible pearls scattered about. I will take the name plague as my mistake as I didn't check the cake when I picked it up and that could have been easily fixed! In the end it's not too big of a deal so I decided to not voice my concerns as I believe the person (possibly the owner) behind the Instagram account isn't fluent in english and I wasn't looking for a refund or anything. If you, the customer, are very keen on designs I suggest you repeat your ideas more than twice as I truly think it's a language barrier. As for the cake this is where the 5 star comes in! I choose a chocolate cake with caramel buttercream. It was honestly one of the most moist and delicious cakes I've had. Super creamy and rich. I see that in other reviews people didn't like how it was mainly cream, but as someone who doesn't like fruit cakes or ice cream cake too much this was right up my alley. The birthday girl enjoyed it too which was the most important part!I also purchased three cupcakes and they were just as good as the cake. I really suggest you leave the cake out for 40 minutes before eating and cutting. It'll taste much better in room temperature as well as easier to cut. Overall I will definitely be returning. Thank you! read more
