Hands down this place would be my best place to get my boba fix. I love how the service is always so attentive and nice all the time. Super consistent. As for their drinks I probably tried everything in their menu at this point and I love their honey osmanthus tea and hojicha latte. I love how all their drinks are super fresh & not with powder. Great experience @ Chun Yang Tea! i had this spot bookmarked for a while, so since i've been home & i was randomly in the area, i decided to give it a shot. Since it was my 1st time, i opted for the popular Ostmanthus Honey Oolong Tea for my husband (cold) and the Pudding Oolong Tea with Fresh Milk (hot) - both were so, so tasty and we actually ended up swapping on the ride home. Although i'm actually a huge fan of milk tea, i've never enjoyed it with boba - something about the tapioca texture tends to ruin the drinking experience for me. Nevertheless, i actually really enjoyed the oolong tea w/ the pudding as the pudding pieces were not intrusive and complimented the tea flavour really well. Overall - will def be back. I've been coming here for years. Tea is always tasty and excellent quality. I like that they don't skimp on tea leaves like other places in the area where it's like sweet water. You taste the tea flavor with their drinks. Large variety of toppings and allows you to customize on amount of sugar and ice. Staff is nice and if you happen to encounter the manager manning the register, you can make special requests and he would oblige. I recommend this place if you like tea. read more

It was good and but I'm not sure if it was worth the price, as the average price of bubble milk tea (size L) is around $6/$7 in the area. It was $8 and did not contain bubbles/tapioca. It also had a single scoop of ice cream. It was worth trying, but I don't think it'll be the new hype like brown sugar milk tea did. Chun Yang is my go to for quality bubble tea. It is one street away from the 8 Avenue train station. The staffs are very nice and the drinks are prep very quickly (note: this is based on every visit there wasn't a long line). My usual is either the red bean with fresh milk (Horizon Whole Milk) and the Grapefruit green tea. The red bean with fresh milk which is a very typical red bean drink you can usually get with a more quality taste to it (I'm thinking maybe it's the Horizon milk they use), it also set so no changes can be made with sugar, ice or size. I also like the grapefruit green tea but it does get a bitter from the grapefruit skin and the tea flavor. The only down side for me is the store is very small so it's a quick grab and go (so no hang out here!) and the drinks can get pricey it's usually around $7-$8 but most bubble tea prices are getting there. read more

Mango Cheese Drink: summer limited time drink so make sure you get this! It reminds me of Mango Mango's version, but this one is even more packed with toppings (the jelly is different too). Almost a meal by itself, or shared between two people. Love the salted cheese foam, really makes the drink as well! I was surprised to see another bubble tea location open up in my neighborhood so I definitely knew that I had to try it out! The place itself is clean and cozy with no indoor seating. They have a variety of different fruit tea options as well as regular milk tea options. The first drink that I tired from here was Cold Red Bean with Fresh Milk which was just alright in my books. It was definitely creamy but nothing special in my opinion. The other times that I came here I got the Cold Honey Lemon Oolong Tea and Passion Fruit Green Tea both with tapioca and they were both super refreshing. The drink itself was very fresh and definitely perfect for a hot day. The tapioca was perfect - mildly sweet and perfectly chewy (definitely a place with good tapioca in my books). The service itself was quick and they recommend the sugar levels for different sizes of drinks as well as for the drink type which I thought was nice. The only downside of this place is that it is pretty expensive - especially if you add toppings my medium drink came out to around $7 which is definitely on the steep side for bubble tea but once in a while for a treat isn't bad! read more

I'm so happy Chun Yang finally appeared in Brooklyn, after wanting to try their chain for so long. The location is really convenient, close to the 8 Ave train station. The inside was small, but modern and beautiful. The manager, I believe, took my order and I loved how he recommended sugar and ice levels for each of my drinks. I ordered the Passion Fruit Green Tea ($6.25) with Less Ice and 70% Sugar and the Hojicha Latte with Pearls ($7.25) with Less Ice and 50% Sugar. The price was steep, but the cups were tall for its large size. The layers were everything, making the drinks look super sleek. My boyfriend noted his Passion Fruit Green Tea had extra sour seeds compared to other places. For my Hojicha, the fresh tea from the milk tea is prominent here, and I enjoyed that roasted taste. But both our drinks felt watered down despite having less ice. I actually wish they recommended a 70% sugar level for my drink as it was really bland, but I am thankful they are looking out for my health. The bubbles were the mini bubbles kind, and they were pretty decent. The authentic fresh tea taste is a nice supplement and adds an element of uniqueness to the range of other bubble tea chains nearby. So excited to have this new bubble tea place in the neighborhood! They have a variety of fresh fruit teas, milk teas, and just plain teas (black tea, oolong tea, green tea..etc). Highly recommend trying the Black Tea Latte with pearl or a Honey Osmanthus Oolong tea. The passion fruit green tea tastes extremely fresh but can be a bit sour. There are also bites of passion fruit seeds included in the drink! You can't go wrong with many of the options here. Since they are new, service might be a bit slow and they're also quite busy handling online orders on top of in-person orders. This boba shop is the newest addition on 8th Avenue. No tables or chairs, just takeout which was fine for me. I stopped by to try the new winter series line up. I'm a fan of anything purple rice and taro and latte and this series is a combination of both. I would skip the taro sago tea latte because it is simple drink with a hefty price tag. I like the purple rice sago tea latte but not for $8. My mom prefer meet fresh taro drinks because there were chunks of taro while chunyang just was liquid. Heard many great things about Chun Yang and wanted to try for a while. They recently opened this new location in Brooklyn -- grand opening was last Saturday. I went on a rainy Sunday but there was a crowd inside, so I decided to wait. Finally tried it this weekend. I ordered the large oolong latte with pudding and added boba, and the smoked plum juice. I was hoping the smoked plum would taste similar to the ume juice I've had in Japan, but it is a very different taste, so I guess I was disappointed. When they call it smoked plum juice, they weren't kidding. It does have a very smoky flavor and a very nostalgic, acquired plum taste, so it's either you love it or you don't. The oolong latte was disappointing, in my opinion. Nothing special -- I guess it's just supposed to taste like regular bubble tea except with pudding. Surprisingly the staff do not recommend 100% sugar level. The recommended sugar level is 30% I believe, so I went with that. There are several other drinks I'm interested in trying so I will probably visit again. However, the reason I took off two stars is the price. So far, the two drinks I've tried have failed to impress me. And to have to pay at least $5-7 on a drink, I think I'll pass. I might visit again, but Chun Yang definitely wouldn't be a bubble tea spot I'd visit that often. read more

We ordered four drinks: a Honey Osmanthus Oolong Tea, Taro Sago with Fresh Milk, Oolong Tea Latte with Purple Rice Sago, and Cosmo Guava Mango Orange Smoothie. Some of the drinks have fixed sugar and/or ice levels with the Taro Sago with Fresh Milk being one of them. This drink was enjoyable and not overwhelmingly sweet. Fresh Milk is the main character and Taro Sago is the side kick. Service was efficient, but could be improved on. Whenever I crave for a hojicha latte, chun yang is the only place I know of that has it. There's a lot of people that work here so the drinks do come out faster than the store in Staten Island. Prices are pretty high but I don't mind it since it's rare to find a place that sells my drink. There's no place to sit inside since it's pretty small. read more

This location is the third US location of the popular Taiwanese tea chain that showed up in NY a couple of years ago. Each location is strategically (at least it seemed to me) in a great location. Their flagship store located is in the busy downtown Flushing area while the second store is in Manhattan's famous Chinatown area. This new location (which opened in early April) is situated on 8th Ave in Brooklyn. NY has THREE Chinatowns and Chun Yang and they have a store in each area as of this review. The Brooklyn location along 8th Ave is considered the 3rd Chinatown in NY and is a popular destination among locals and visitors who do not want to travel to Manhattan or Queens. There is very convenient and close subway access for those who take public transport but also street parking for those who drive or take ride share. The borough of Brooklyn itself is known to be very unique and trendy and a popular destination for food. I had missed the GO of the new store but made my way there a short time afterwards to go show support. I am not in that area too often but that will certainly change after this visit. The new Chun Yang location was a short walk from the subway station and very easy to find. This store is like a cute mini version of the flagship store in Flushing, There are no tables, chairs or any seats (compared to Flushing). Standing room only. There are only countertop settings along the walls and window. **Due to COVID restrictions, capacity was limited during my visit. All employees were masked up and wearing gloves when preparing the drinks. As I approached the store initially, there was a very polite gentleman outside who greeted me right away and welcomed me to the store. I was expecting lines and a crowd from what I had heard from others and seen on social media but there were only a couple of people waiting for their drinks to be prepped. It was most likely due to the volatile weather that NY had been experiencing at that time. Weather haphazardly changed from warm, to cold to rain sometimes all in a week. When I went to order, there were two very gracious and hardworking female employees behind the counter. Shou Shou was making the drinks while Cindy was taking the orders. With any bubble tea establishment, we all have our favorites that we always order but i was not too sure for this visit. I asked Cindy what she recommended and she said her favorite is the Latte with Pudding and that is a flavor that I had actually not ordered previously. Their pudding is quite good and this was a solid recommendation. Since I was there, I also got the Orange Mountain which is a nice refreshing flavor if you are not in the mood for a milk based drink. Some customers arrived after me but all the drinks were made in a timely manner. The initial visit was actually very pleasant overall. The gentleman who greeted me earlier was actually the manager named Vanness but he works just as hard as his employees. I respect that a lot. I had stopped by again a couple of weeks later as I was in the area. The manager was not there but there were a lot of new faces behind the counter. The very nice girl from my first visit, Cindy, recognized my ugly face right away. She was a bit busy as it looked like she was training some new employees. I paid by credit card and was prompted to tip on the screen. I generally like to tip in cash so I clicked skip. This place is freaken amazing. I love Chun Yang so much. It's my favorite bubble tea spot and brand. All of their teas are amazingly fresh. Everything is made with fresh ingredients. None of that fake powder stuff. The best thing is you can customize. The people that work here are also super friendly. They speak Cantonese so that is a huge plus if you don't speak English. Another huge plus is how close it is to the train station. I first found out about Chun Yang when I was in Toronto. I loved trying new teas and this was a few years ago. I remember when the guy helping me with my drink in Toronto told me they were opening a Chun Yang in Flushing and he was going to NY at the time to help open the store. I was so excited. Fast forward a few years later, I've been addicted ever since. I live in Brooklyn, but I've always made the drive to the Flushing store to buy multiple drinks to get my Chun Yang fix. Waiting time is about 15 to 20 minutes which makes sense as the store was just recently opened. The cashier politely advised our group the approximate waiting time so we can place the order first and then come back to pick up our drinks later. We ordered papaya milk, honey osmanthus oolong, honey lemon oolong, and pineapple oolong. Perfect for the hotpot in such a windy and cold night!
