I was strolling through the area and the bright blue and gold decor caught my attention. My friend was craving some bubble tea so we decided to give this place a try. We ordered the classic bubble milk tea and paired it with some garlic popcorn chicken. I was surprised to find both regular and small sized bubbles in the milk tea but enjoyed the chew on both. The milk tea was just okay. Could use more tea flavor. We opted for 70% sugar and it was the perfect amount of sweetness! The garlic popcorn chicken was pretty good - one of the better ones that I've had. The batter was light and crispy. I always appreciate the places that have a better chicken to batter ratio. Expect a 10-15 minute wait if you're ordering popcorn chicken.

Don't get the popcorn chicken! They skimp on portion by stapling the bottom of the bag so it's to deceive customers. They raised the price and skimp the portion size. Terrible business.

Came here cause they had a special discount for any size boba after 5 pm for $2. The boba isn't very good but at least good for the price after discount since the boba wasn't exactly consistent with some small some big some chewy some kind of solid. People mass order with the discount after 5pm so the wait was very long. Can't say much of anything about ambience since we were just stuck waiting outside for an hour.

The boba here was surprisingly so yum! The store was tucked away in a side street of 8th ave. It's a small little store, so it's easy to miss. The tea smell was very strong when walking in- and that's when I knew the drink would be good. I believe I got the peach green tea - it was devoured within minutes! Super refreshing for the hot temps.

I didn't eat here, but I did have a mango smoothie which was delicious not a fan Boba, but I love the way they designed and how clean the store is. It modern and chic. The staff was pleasant

They currently have a berry drink for BOGO and it's great value for 2 large drinks with toppings at $6.80. They charge tax here but they accept CC (including Amex) which is great. Can't wait to try their BOGO milk teas on days ending in 1/9/19!

I recently stumbled upon a photo of 19 El on Yelp and with its bright blue walls and gorgeous tea leaves dispenser, I was immediately enchanted and knew I had to drag my sister here. Upon entering, we were warmly greeted by the staff. I had been meaning to inquire about their membership but felt a bit hesitant to do so. My sister did so anyway, and as it turns out, they have a loyalty punch card system. Buy 10 drinks and get a free 19 El VIP membership card, with which you can then "unlock" the membership prices on their menu. We ordered the Bubble Milk Tea and Berry Party and were both impressed with the flavors. The quality of their tea is top-notch, and you can adjust the sweetness and ice levels to your preference. The Bubble Milk Tea at 50% sweetness was a tad sweeter than I expected, so I might go for 30% next time. Meanwhile, my sister's Berry Party was sweet, tart, and refreshing, even at 0% sugar. I look forward to coming back and trying some of their other drinks!

With a blue like that, this new boba spot is bound to stand out. My boyfriend was craving a drink right before dinner, and 19 El couldn't have appeared at a better time. It's a small little shop with just a couple bar seating close to the cashier. We got the Pine-mango Jelly Tea ($6.25) and it was so delicious my first sip that I had to turn around and praised them for the delicious drink! For a new place, I was shocked at how refreshing and perfectly fruity it was. It was on the sweeter side, but they didn't ask for adjustments, although I do see there is a sugar and ice level option on their menu. I am definitely coming back to try more of their drinks!

I got their Bubble Milk Tea with no sugar and no ice. It had strong black tea flavor which is how I like my bubble tea. Their bubbles were a mix of regular size and mini size. I love mini bubbles! Other than the sugar and ice, I did not make anymore adjustments so it's safe to assume their standard bubbles are a mix of regular and mini sizes.

This is a new bubble tea place that just opened up on 8th Avenue! They are currently having their soft opening and I'm not sure when they will actually do a grand opening. However, while the girls up front were still undergoing training, the drinks were the bomb dot com. The drinks were surprisingly amazing. Loved it. We ordered the signature fruit tea and bubble milk tea. The fruit tea was so refreshing and came with aiyu jelly that was amazingly bouncy. The bubble milk tea tastes like real tea and we saw that they used horizon whole milk, so ladies if you're lactose intolerant carry them lactaid pills. They also offer two types of bubbles with their bubble milk tea, the regular sized bubbles and mini bubbles. The bubbles were chewy and had a bit of a seeet taste! Very enjoyable Atmosphere is nice and clean and I love the blue used to outline much of their space. There isn't much seating area inside and the shop is relatively small. Their hours are from 10am to 8pm and they offer recyclable paper handles to carry your drinks! Looking forward to trying their other drinks and I hope you enjoy the drinks as much as I did!

I love mango and this new bubble tea spot caught my eyes. I got M3 Mango tea with tea jelly, so refreshing! Would love to try other mango drinks! Good price for the size!! Would def come back!! FYI- in order to become their member and get the member price you will need to buy 10 teas.

Went in and was immediately greeted with a warm greeting. Small store with standing room only and would probably fit 4 adults at most. Got the berry party for a BOGO deal and it was good. Actual berries blended, mixed with jelly into the tea. I didn't lower the level of the ice but I appreciated that it wasn't full of ice but just the right amount. Also got an order of popcorn chicken with pepper salt seasoning and it was banging. I would definitely stop by again to try their other drinks and for another order of the chicken!

Popped in after I spotted this new bubble tea shop while I was in the area. Love that their bubble milk tea comes with a mix of regular boba and mini boba

There's a lot of bubble tea competition in the area so it's nice to see them thriving. My usual rotation is: Wonder Grape - light and refreshing, my most ordered drink Hojicha Latte - my caffeine pick when I want that roasted flavor Coco Mango - more of a dessert drink, reminds me of mango sai mai lo Mochi O Sesame - dessert like, creamy and satisfying Pomegranate Burst - my no caffeine antioxidant pink drink during that time Persimmon series - my actual favorite but it only shows up during the fall season They also have snacks like popcorn chicken, crispy chicken burgers, and eggy waffles. One thing though, this location doesn't seem to carry the cauliflower that I've had and liked from other Jooy spots. I still think their older signature drinks are the most reliable. Some of the newer series feel a little rushed. I tried the pear series and the pear tasted unripe while the pomelo was a lot which made the drink come out pretty bitter. The guava series was also too light when I tried it, almost like guava tinted tea.

Almost all other tea shops in this neighborhood close pretty early so that definitely sets this establishment apart. The milk tea was made well, just the appropriate amount of sweetness. I will say the Boba was slightly over cooked and on the gummier, softer side. The tea flavor selection is a little bit limited I feel, but not entirely a dealbreaker. They offer some savory snacks as well which I would be curious to try next time. Overall, solid spot for some authentic milk tea.

My sister and I have passed by this place multiple times in the past, though we never stopped by to try any of their drinks. This past Saturday, my sister wanted to try someplace new, so we decided to go to Upwind. When we walked in, there were only two staff: a tea-rista/cashier and a tea-rista in training. Both were very patient as we looked through the menu. My sister ended up ordering the kumquat lemon green tea with no sugar, and I really liked how the tea-rista/cashier advised that she get it with 30% sugar as it may be too sour for her taste. My sister reassured her that she wanted it with no sugar, and then the tea-rista in training proceeded to make her drink. The kumquat lemon green tea was tart like my sister preferred, the service was quick, and the staff were very nice. Overall, pleasant experience.
