They have a deal but one get one for a 3Q (3 topping - preselected, no alternatives) milk tea. I got the 3Q and it was good! Was a quick in and out experience. Five stars for such a great deal and tasty bubble tea drink. I'm not sure if there's always a BOGO deal, but I saw a banner below the awning. The BOGO is only for the 3Q milk tea, which includes bubbles, custard and grass jelly. It sure is tasty, but I'm sure has a lot of calories. It will be perfect to get this when you have a friend around. The cup is also so cute and colorful. The service was friendly and quick. The shop isn't for dine-in and is located on the side street away from the 8th Ave chaos. They also have pretty good special combo deal that I plan to try soon. read more

The star was really given for the bubble tea, all other things were terrible. When I stood right in front of the cashier, no greeting. She kind of ignored me and continued to chat with another staff. I placed an order for the taro bubble tea and a garlic popcorn chicken. Waited for about 7 minutes, checked on the status and I was told that the popcorn chickens would be ready soon. An Uber delivery gentleman and a panda delivery gentleman came in to pick up their deliveries and left. Then another girl was calling the order in Mandarin only. She waved at me as I did not respond to her when she called out the order, and she told me that my spicy popcorn chicken was ready. The cashier told her that she mixed up my order with the delivery gentleman and my order was garlic popcorn chicken. Then they told me to continue to wait and they would make me the correct one. That was about 12-13 minutes after I placed my order. I asked if I could get a refund instead of keep waiting, the response was no refund and the order would be done soon. If the order could be done so quickly, why did I spend over 10 minutes waiting for it at the first place? I would think they just put the popcorn chicken back to the oil to "clean" / "wash out" the spicy favor and put on the garlic favor instead. Horrible services as they mixed up two orders at once. They only called out the order in mandarin and assumed everyone understood it? If they do not speak Cantonese or English, they could at least call the order number in English. Not Asian looking people speaking Mandarin and/or Cantonese. The snacks are definitely overpriced. A small bag of popcorn chicken was charged $7+tax. The outside level of crispy was very thick. Last but not least, The space was very limited in the store front and basically customers had no space to wait for their orders. They placed two chairs in the street for customers to sit and wait, but one of the chairs was occupied by a non-customer. Small little shop opened up right next to the B9 bus stop on 60th street, one of the busiest streets on 8th avenue. Ms. Adventurous today so I dived right in for the Yakault Green Tea and Grapefruit Jelly Tea. Green tea is crisp, the yakault, an Asian yogurt drink, gave it a nice sweetness. Ahhhh Vivi you sexy minx you! How your delicious bubble tea has made my night amazing on numerous occasions. As a matter o fact I must come to see you every time I visit the city. If I do not...I am truly full of sadness. I always come here and get the peach bubble tea because often times it's filled with chunks of peach which really enhances the tea drink. Sometimes I get the standard black tea with milk. I always make sure I get bubbles in my drink though. I can usually get two regular teas for under 10 bucks. Often times different Vivi bubble tea locations only take cash...so make sure aware of this. I find this bubble tea place to be much tastier than all the rest. I still go to Quickly and Tbaar, but I like this the best. I highly recommend coming here wether you live in the city or your just visiting! read more

Went here a few times and every time I come here, I leave disappointed. First, let's talk about how loud they play their music at night. At night, they blast music so loud that houses 2 blocks down can hear it. Not to mention, it's horrible music. So not only it's annoying, it's also disturbing. The store is dirty and messy as well. Whenever I come to this location, I NEVER get greeted. There is no basic customer service here at all. I don't know any of the workers personally so don't take my word on this, but they all seem really "stuck-up". They just take my order and take my money. Let's talk about how they make their drinks... Maybe the workers do this because they think they are so "skilled"? They rush your drinks so fast that it gets all messy and nasty. My cup is all wet and it leaves my hands being sticky. Does making drinks fast make you feel like a pro at making drinks? LOL.. I'm not talking about making drinks fast and efficiently. I'm talking about being messy and throwing sh*t around. I was obsessed with Vivi's takoyaki. I had it a few times in their Manhattan locations and it was so delicious. The one in Chinatown gives you such a great amount of stuff that goes on top of the balls. But this location... *laughs*. Their takoyaki was disgusting. I was eating it at night and it tasted very weird to me. Once I got home where there was light, I saw a weird "gelatin-like" gooeyness on top of my takoyaki balls. What the hell is that? There is no way takoyaki is made with anything like that. I have never experienced something like that before. I was pleasantly surprised to see that one of their drinks had plum! It's hard to find that in the US usually. It was the kumquat ice jelly (which is labeled kumquat lemon in English and kumquat plum in Chinese so uhhh), and I think the plum just referred to the single whole plum in my drink. Even at 30% sweet, it was a bit too much for my taste. The drinks came out pretty quickly, but overall, it's an average place. Good if you want a nice cold drink, but pretty standard as far as Vivi's and bubble teas go. read more

I've been to TenRen, Kung Fu Tea, Quickly, Chatime, and etc. Today I decided to try something new and came into Vivi. The The bubble tea shop is small and modern. Like many tea shop now you can customize your drink in so many different ways. Ordered a popcorn chicken with curry favor and milk tea. The chicken was crunchy on the outside yet soft on the inside. At first it felt like I was eating something raw and had to double check for myself. The chicken was cooked but the texture was not to be desired. The popcorn chicken came in a good portion. The milk tea was A-OK and nothing special. The WOW factor is missing. I will come back and try the bubble milk tea in the future but not right away. read more

My least favorite was the green tea milk. I felt like it was lacking in green tea flavor (the jasmine tea flavor). I know next time not to order that. My favorite is the passion fruit one. I noticed they also have lychee fruit tea. I must try that next. Newly opened bubble tea spot!! A ViVi bubble tea spot just recently opened up. Im guessing by the crowd of people either waiting to order or waiting to pick up their drinks, that this place opened up this week. A while ago, a Quickly once stood near this spot, but then it closed and the noodle place expanded and took the space. The store on the corner closed a few weeks ago and I guess they split the store into two and voila, came a small spot for ViVi to set up shop. They had a promo going on for their opening, for 3 days only, 50% off select drinks. It was either the grapefruit jelly, regular black tea bubble or herb jelly tea. I went for the grapefruit jelly since I never tried the grapefruit tea. It was pretty good. There was pulp inside which surprisingly was not bad since I hate pulp. The jelly was like jello, in globs. As much as I come here, all I can say is convenience. I come here normally at night when Kung Fu Tea,Tenren or Formosa is closed or when I want to grab a midnight snack. Extremely small store and one small table outside. Don't expect a bathroom. Vivi unlike other competitors sell snacks. Snacks like takoyaki, popcorn chicken, Taiwanese sausages. I always come here for the popcorn chicken and most of the time it taste different. Sometimes it's not crispy or it doesn't have enough taste. The takoyaki is stuff with corn and a small piece of octopus. I learn my lesson to not order through take out since the takoyaki gets soggy easily. The drinks are okay, the Jasmine milk green tea with herbal jelly is my favorite from most bubble tea stores and the fruit green teas get go wrong unless you don't want any sugar or sweetness(all syrup base). The service is may vary depending the the cashier working that day. I do recommend it if you are always looking for something to munch on and drink on at the evenings. read more

There's so many bubble tea popping up all over neighborhood and frankly, none of them really stands out from one another. I generally don't go to bubble tea shops unless I'm with a buddy that's in a dire need for some. For our visit we had the grapefruit fruit tea (no sugar added), passionfruit fruit tea (less sugar), and a side of pop chicken. My grapefruit fruit tea still tasted pretty sweet even though I told them no added sugar but I don't fault them since there's probably sweeteners/syrups in the grapefruit mix but my friend's passionfruit fruit tea was so sweet, she couldn't drink it. Also, the pop chicken was all just batter, no real pieces of chicken. Would I come here again? Why would I when 8th ave have so many different bubble tea shops. They only gave me the regular bubble milk tea (no jelly whatsoever). Halfway through the drink I realized that there was a dead fly in the drink. The fact that they don't check their drinks on a consistent basis and let something like hygiene be disregarded really upsets me. Before today, I would've given this place a 5 star review. I've been to this location enough times in this past summer until now to be considered a regular at some point. The staff there literally knew my drink order because I came so often and always got the same drink, a Peach Aloe Fruit Tea, bubbles instead of aloe. This is to say that I'm not hating on Vivis as a whole, but that they need to hire better staff or train their new hires better. I went to Vivis today expecting the same kind of service I had received before, but there was new staff members working the front. I ordered the same drink I always got, but when I received it, it was missing the ice jelly and chia seeds. I told them in English as such and they both seemed very confused. I figured since they were new that they just didn't know the drink menu as well and I pointed to the drink I wanted, which included the aforementioned jelly and chia seeds. They then made my drink again with just the ice jelly topping, without the bubbles and the chia seeds, and when I pointed this out, they seemed annoyed with me. Then one of the staff members, sounding quite annoyed, spoke in Mandarin stating to just put all the items into the drink as I requested and then to charge me an additional $0.50. The two staff members definitely assumed I couldn't understand Mandarin and so this comment seemed quite rude to me. (I speak and understand Mandarin, I just communicate much better in English.) In the end they didn't charge me the extra $0.50 but this whole experience left a bad taste in my mouth. It felt like I was being judged for not speaking to them in Mandarin and also for requesting for my drink to be made correctly. It also took over 10 minutes for this drink to be made and it normally takes 1. I loved this location, it's a convenient walk from my home, but I don't think I'll be coming back here. Perhaps it was just a fluke and I have had much better experiences prior to this event, but I don't want to support a place with staff that would so rudely disregard a customer and lack the basic training to know how to make the shop drinks. Instead, I would recommend Modern China Tea Shop for some more unconventional takes to bubble tea, and Teadora for really affordable budget bubble tea. read more
