A nice little coffeeshop with excellent pastries. The coffee is good and strong. It was so good -- there was a light filling underneath the blueberry topping. Very easy to sit here and chat amongst friends as well. There are a few spaces to sit, one of which is a small couch and 2 chairs, good for groups of 4. There's another space for 2 to sit. The narrow storefront entrance is subtle at best, with dark windows and dim lighting. You might hesitate to pull on the door and, upon discovering it is in fact open, can't help but feel like they weren't prepared to open just yet. Being inside is no more inviting than outside. It's incredibly dark and quiet. I'm trying to recall music, but can't honestly say anything was setting a tone for this potentially charming shop. The reason I didn't hesitate to open the door was because of this pair of outdoor seats next to the front door, which I can at best describe as cozy. This cafe has a modest but high-quality RTD case, with fresh sandwiches and quick bites, and their pastries are a work of art, aesthetically speaking. And despite a rather unwelcoming storefront, the staff is warm, patient, and incredibly pleasant. I was excited to try their cold brew coffee, but they don't produce it regularly. The baristas didn't seem to know if and when they'd be carrying it again. A bit odd for a no-frills coffee shop, but I wasn't leaving empty-handed. I took the next best thing and requested an iced coffee, but was confused when I was given an iced Americano. I can deal without the cold brew coffee, settling for a rich, full-bodied iced coffee. Their roast is super earthy and hits just right for a particular coffee lover like me. But we're talking three different brewing methods, creating three entirely different tastes. It was strange that my request wasn't explained to me, as the barista proceeded to make an iced Americano, leaving me both disappointed and frustrated, regardless of whether or not this particular coffee was good. That's not what I asked for. This entire experience left me flummoxed at best. From the visually awkward welcome to the limited coffee-style options, I can only describe my experience as disappointing. I've had their cold brew before, and it was perfection. But to not have iced coffee, especially when I've already been forced to settle, is inexcusable. With all that being said, I'm hopeful and plan on returning. For me, if you have good coffee, the lights, music, and even baristas are complimentary. We will put up with anything for quality. It's the ultimate elixir. However, I expect a bake house and coffee shop to have the bare minimum. The iced Americano was delicious. The shot was perfectly pulled and had the perfect espresso-to-water ratio. But that's neither what I wanted nor what I expected. So, who cares?

I would never miss a chance to visit 85C bakery. Absolutely love their savory items and sweets…read more Fresh and great flavor. I don't like the white toasts tho. Next time I will try milk loaf instead. I love almond bread, soboro bread and egg tarts. My favorite is their pineapple shortcake. A traditional Taiwanese pastry with a buttery crust and sweet pineapple filling. (Not like a birthday cake). They have tables and seats inside for customers. Nice staff. You can order drinks with them or put in kiosk. Parking lot in the front.

The menu also had a wide variety of hot/cold drinks. In the store, there were about four tables that could sit around 12-14 people. We came to the store around afternoon time. There were plenty of bakery and pastry items still available. We picked a bunch of the egg tarts, some bread items, pineapple cakes and a slice of red velvet cake. Prices were fair, especially the drinks had low prices. The associate at the register was super nice. He patiently waited while we were trying to figure out our drink order. We sat down in the store to eat and drink some of the stuff we bought. The egg tart was delicious. Loved the mango green tea I got. The red velvet wasn't as good, we only ate half of it. But overall this was a really good 85 bakery store.

They have limited hours and tend to sell out quickly, so on a Saturday I arrived around **11:40 AM**, about 20 minutes before opening, and was one of the first three customers inside (their maximum occupancy). This isn't a place to grab a quick coffee. The owner carefully prepares each drink by hand, so expect to wait about **30-60 minutes** if there's a line. I waited around 10-15 minutes after ordering, but honestly didn't mind because the space is so calm and peaceful. While waiting, I enjoyed browsing the aroma mists, smelling the candles, and just soaking in the serene atmosphere. It's the perfect spot if you're looking for a quiet moment by yourself. For drinks, I really enjoyed the **Black Sesame Latte**. It has espresso and was smooth, light, and well-balanced. I also tried the **Matcha Maple Latte**. The matcha itself tasted like excellent quality, but next time I'd skip the maple syrup since I prefer my drinks less sweet. We also sampled several pastries: * **Hojicha Cookie** - Soft and moist with melty chocolate chips. One of my favorites. * **Coffee Caramel Cookie** - Great if you love coffee. It had a rich, bold coffee flavor. * **Black Sesame Madeleine** - Nice black sesame flavor, though I would have loved a little more butter to make it even more moist. * **Yuzu Cake** - Beautifully decorated with an edible flower and packed with bright yuzu flavor. The cake was on the drier side though. * **Chocolate Cake** - Wonderfully moist and satisfying. The drinks were around **$8.50** each, and the cookies were about **$4** each, so it's definitely on the pricier side. For my Asian palate, most of the pastries leaned a bit sweeter than I prefer, but the drinks were excellent and clearly made with high-quality ingredients. Overall, this is a lovely place to treat yourself once in a while. Come for the peaceful atmosphere, thoughtfully crafted drinks, and beautiful pastries.
